Love the people and equipment. So many classes you can take and meet new friends. Staff is always happy to step up and help you. If you are a person who just wants to focus on your workout- no one will interrupt.

I like it but I don't understand why they don't cover the pool. If it is covered with a blanket, children and adults won't be affected by the sun as much. This is Louisiana, it's extremely hot and humid. I think pools should be covered in this state.

We absolutely love the West St. Tammany YMCA! From the moment we walked in, we were met with such kindness and warmth from the staff. Everyone is so friendly and welcomingβit truly feels like a community.
My children have participated in several sports programs here for years, and they look forward to every game and practice. The coaches are incredibly patient, encouraging, and great with kids. They not only teach the fundamentals of the sport but also focus on teamwork, confidence, and fun, which has made such a positive impact on my children.
We are so grateful to be a part of such a great place.

This place is literally walking distance from my job & I work at a nursing home. They give small discounts to some medical facilities, but not mine. They went up to $66/month from $50. Absolutely absurd in todayβs economy where that average person has to choose between housing & a vehicle. The place is great to workout at & I loved it, but had to quit because I couldnβt afford $50/month. I thought the YMCA was a Christian organization started help those who didnβt have funds & helped with housing & actually had free memberships back when I was younger. Iβm 50 & want to improve my health, but thereβs no question I can not afford this place now. I called & the lady told me it went up to $66/month & I said so now only the Elite can afford to workout there. She just ignored me & had nothing to say. I can say when I use to workout there, most of the staff were very friendly. The lady with short hair that maybe managed it was always personable & friendly. Itβs a shame that I canβt use this place that is so convenient being so close to work, I have to go across town to Planet Fitness. If they can charge $11/month, the YMCA that use to be free could charge atleast a minimum of $30/month. Disheartening, just the way of the world now. I pray they get back more God centered than left centered. The place & most staff are great. Too expensive & itβs a shame!!! I would give it more stars, but the affordability & the not so niceness of just 1or 2 behind the desk makes me give it 1 star. Again, most staff are friendly!

Horrible experience start to finish. Wanted to take my son and his friend swimming. Went to the front desk and purchased guest passes for us. Signed the waiver. Paid 20 dollars which wasn't bad. Took 20 minutes for her to enter everything in the computer and to pay. She asked the kids ages (7) and then told me they would have to pass a swim test to swim or they would have to wear life jackets. I asked if this was new because we have been here many times and this was not the case. She didn't answer. I asked if it was necessary as I will be in the water with them. She told me that was fine. Went outside with the kids and the lifeguard would not let them in the pool unless they passed a swim test which involved swimming the length of the pool. I told her they both don't like the deep end and they only stay where they can stand in the water plus I would be with them the whole time. She said no they can wear life jackets which I think is absolutely ridiculous because I am with them the whole time. So of course my kid starts to cry because he doesn't want to be in a life jacket. He wants to be able to splash and play in the water. So she tells me that if I wanted that that I can come back in 2 and 1/2 hours because at that time they can swim without a life jacket. Make that make sense? You can do it in 2 hours. Just not now when there was one other kid at the pool. And two lifeguards on duty. So she stands there and watched my kid cry for 5 minutes while I'm trying to calm him down and then when I say you know what let's just leave. We'll go to Franco's she laughed and said have a wonderful day while my kid is crying. My mom was with me she cancelled her membership and I got in the car drove 15 minutes to Franco's paid for the guest pass for us and we had a great time. They were kind. Took me 2 minutes to get a guest pass instead of 20 and everyone was friendly.

I have been coming to the Y since October 2019. Since that time I have made a ton of friends. One of those friends even inspired me to become a personal trainer. The Y was so supportive of this goal that they offered me a job as soon as I was certified. My children have done a ton of the YMCA sports and they have loved it. Youth sports is great for introducing small children to different sports. My oldest really loved their cheerleading and tumbling program. My husband and I have also competed in the commit to be fit program and I am now a coach for the program. It is hands down on of the best programs there is for getting healthy. Other pros about the y is daycare is offered everyday but Sunday and there is a summer camp that many kids seem to really enjoy. The Y is definitely community oriented and you will find it hard not to find a friend or something to do there.

Weβve been members for 5 yrs and love it! They offer childcare during workout hours and we especially love the kids sports. My son has been through all of the team sports since he was 2 yrs old and has grown to love sports because of the Y. And my 6 yr old daughter recently joined their new cheer team and absolutely loves it! Sheβs very picky so this is huge! Canβt say enough good things about the Y! (Pic in the Y lobby)

It's a nice place overall but I can never work out because there is no childcare available. The pool has been closed three times that I came to swim this Summer alone. I also feel like there are way to many lifeguards, they watch u like hawks, it's pretty weird, make me uncomfortable. My teenage daughter has been yelled at for getting on her friends shoulders while in the pool. I think next Summer we will try somewhere different.

My disabled daughter and senior husband have free memberships through Silver Sneakers with their Medicare Advantage plans. They enjoy working out there, although it can get crowded at times. The pool is always extremely crowded. It is a nice YMCA facility. It is handicap accessible and the staffare very friendly and helpful.

It has a lot to offer with the limited space it has. Plenty of machines, treadmills, and bikes. Not overly crowded. What gives it the extra star is the staff! They are super nice and helpful.

The staff and other members were so nice to me on my first day here today. Thanks for inviting me with open arms and being so understanding of my strengths and weakness.
***Update***
It's been over a year and with the help of YMCA staff, I am down 121 pounds. I thank you all for pushing me in my classes, checking on my progress, and even for our members that make sure I'm still on track and call to say, "you coming to class today Tee". I love yall. One my favorite places in Louisiana to exercise. It is an epitomy of friendly community. Staffs are helpful. Fitness Instructors are very engaging and full of energy. People who work out in gym are focused and inspiring as well. On top of that, I have always been immensely empowered by the lush greenery of this Y. I love this place!
