Used to be a personal trainer here. Loved my clients & loved the members. Corporate ran that place straight into the ground. With not fixing machines, raising prices, constantly yelling that we wernt making enough money when business was booming. I left on my own last year because I was tired of the bs. Soon many left after me. Always a revolving door. You guys can find me at Crunch fitness in Marrero!

I like the quiet atmosphere in the early morning hours. I like the amount of treadmills they have, since that’s a common machine for everyone. My only critique is the amount of other machines that are “temporarily out of use.” The same machines have had those signs since I started a month ago. They aren’t ones that I use but I would imagine it’s an inconvenience to those who want to use them. Hopefully management of this YouFit location sees this review and takes some sort of action. Otherwise, I’m very glad that I joined!

Dear YouFit Team,

I have been a member of the gym for an extended period and thoroughly enjoyed my experience; however, due to health issues, I needed to discontinue my membership. Unfortunately, the cancellation process has been quite challenging. I believed my membership was properly canceled, but I have since been informed by collections that there is a balance owed.

I reached out to customer service, but I did not receive the assistance I required.

My experience at YouFit has been nothing short of amazing, especially because of the incredible SGT (Small Group Training) sessions. The trainer is absolutely top-notch—motivating, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to helping us reach our goals. This was my favorite gym for years, but now i can’t even get a workout in without being recorded by the 20 people with tripods set up recording their entire workouts. Who wants to be recorded and posted on the internet with out consent????? Definitely switching to a gym that doesn’t allow recording like that

I used to love this gym and the trainers here! But what good is a good gym with poor management? I have repeatedly had unsatisfactory experiences with Tonya, who is the general manager. There’s a high turnover of staff and trainers. Meanwhile, they are charging me for a Premium+ membership even though there are much fewer small group classes. No refunds, no adjustments, no accountability.

Even worse, I’ve learned that two of the trainers who left have since been banned from the gym—as a guest and from a regular membership, which says a lot about how this place treats people. I’m genuinely concerned that I might be banned just for leaving this review—but that should tell you everything you need to know.

This gym is more interested in taking your money than honoring its commitments. SAD!

Definitely the worst decision I have ever made I requested a personal trainer and only stayed 2 weeks they promised to call and never did until they came back to take 300 dollars more for the supposed trainer service that never got I make a claim for my money and the in charged one Jim or whatever his name is don't offer me a solution and just says I already have a trainer they are thieves don't come to this place the manager is an unprofessional person. 😡

Taylor Alexander is an awesome coach Because of her training classes she holds during the week has really helped me loose the lbs in time for my Jamaican trip. She truly pushes you during the workouts. Taylor also doesn’t mind adjusting her schedule in order for everyone to attend the class. What I truly enjoy seeing is when a Male attends her class and he thinks it’s a light weight class. I love it when I see the men take a lot of pauses during the workout.. Thank you Taylor for all that you do!!

First of all half the cardio machines do not work. And then I was charged $90+ dollars and when I called and said I wanted to cancel my membership (because the gym is not worth that) they refused to let me and they said if I don't pay they're reporting it to my credit. The only good thing about the gym was the class I took the coach was amazing. But I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Male staff is really embarrassing for the company, have been going for almost a year now and they all have the same tough guy attitude more then they do there actual job especially the short old one and the young black one with a woman’s bun. They also consistently try to fraud money from you then pretend they have no Clue what’s happening when confronted multiple times about it. The women at the front counter are nice but would still recommend a different gym due to overall experience.

I wish I could give ZERO stars !!! The General Manager JIM , is a scammer !!!! I cancelled my personal trainer in February (they stopped payment for March) - next thing you know I’m getting calls saying I owe 400$ to a credit bureau for 400$ because of not paying for my trainer. Mind you- I was still paying my membership fee of 12.41 every two weeks to them….as I stated to Jim , if my membership fee is automatic draft and so was my trainer why did my trainer fees stop being drafted but my membership continued being drafted if I didn’t cancel !!!! I kept explaining to him that it made no sense && then he tells me “YOURE LUCKY IM ALLOWING YOU TO COME TO THE GYM BECAUSE YOU OWE 400$ FOR A TRAINER SO I REALLY DONT HAVE TO ALLOW YOU TO COME” I called the billing department at this point ABC FITNESS , who stated that he was still suppose to allow me into the gym ! These people are scammers and I’m DEFINITELY about to notify my bank of their fraud !!!!!!

DO NOT , DO NOT , DO NOTTTTT Join this gym !!!! They will scam you ! Which is why the one in Algiers closed ! The one located on Manhattan is the ONLY ONE OPEN IN LOUISIANA ! I came in today at 6/11/24 at 10 am because I kept in her eyes to start my day trial from Megan via text. So is beautiful about 3 years since I have and I wanted to try and I got time done he said I was already a member and don't qualify. Luckily club 4 fitness down the street from youfit and they gave me no complications I recommend joining this gym more spacious and equipment and friendly staff!

I’m only commenting here because I can’t for the Algiers location. I knew it was going to get closed down. The customer service was awful, and the communication was even more disappointing. It’s a beautiful thing to see them no longer in business.

The experience I had there was awful, and I told the staff one day this place will be closed down. Boi, was I right? Judging from these comments, this location is no different. Youfit will not exist in New Orleans in the next 2–3 years.

They have a good selection of machines but I can't give five stars because you can't really bring a guest with a basic membership. I pay with my insurance and considering other places around this price range are more willing to allow guests I find this a little bit uncompetitive. But overall this is a very good place especially as an alternative to another popular chain.

You have to do Zumba with Diane at 6:30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. She is literally the only reason I have the membership here. It's a high intensity workout + zumba. I typically burn close to 700 calories each class. Definitely a must if you enjoy group classes. The gym itself could use some upgrades and the Zumba class room has been without AC for several months.

Horrible Gym. I decided to pay for a membership for 2 weeks, just to try the Gym. Please read the info they send to your email. I feel like I was tricked into being a member of this Gym. No one will explain anything to you before or during your membership process. Someone should've explained the cancelation process and that they will charge you additional fees after you cancel your membership.

It’s a decent gym in normal price these days. However, trying to cancel is like trying to get out of the mafia not only did I have to pay a cancellation fee but they conveniently have a policy that says if you don’t cancel within 10 days of your next payment you still have to pay that month. I’m assuming that if I come 20 days before it would’ve been a 25 day policy! Absolutely terrible way to do business.

They decide to debit my account during the pandemic. I called to cancel numerous times, no answer. Today, I finally had some time to go in and cancel. Well , they say they can only credit me , not refund me. Should have stated that when you were closed and sent out a email
To your customers. Convient you can charge me when you’re closed, but can’t refund me for when you were closed. Money’s not the issue, it’s the principal . Oh and they want to charge me ten dollars to cancel.

By far the dumbest and worst gym in New Orleans. Had a class pass to workout there but was denied by front desk. You have to be a member for class pass, which makes no sense. Limited hours and terrible customer service! I worked in a gym before and they handled it wrong. I live 5 minutes from the gym and was planning on switching. I’ll rather drive an hour than workout here.

6 years! I have been going to gym for 6 years now and back then I would have only given it 2 stars because of how crowded it was back then. I took a 2 years break from this gym during peak pandemic and I’m back. What was once a crowded gym during peak hours is now a decently spacious gym with half the crowd, machines are clean with a few broken but from the time I’m writing this review it’s been all fix, and now they have an app so no more useless key. This is probably due to competition opening up on westbank but it’s all for the better. A spacious gym, plenty of benches (fixed and movable ones), and clean the times I go

So not only do these people only want your money, they are not even willing to be decent enough to see circumstances that any other decently ran or operated business would take into account and just be fair with clients. I tried to cancel multiple times since the beginning of the pandemic and they still charged people during the pandemic closed or not. I didn’t get a phone call or email in regards to any of that. Didn’t even know they had a change in ownership. I haven’t lived in Louisiana for a hot minute and they still want to charge a cancellation fee after not attending and being charged even when closed. This place is soulless, unfair, inconsiderate to their clients, and are quick to message you about not paying, but having your number they won’t check to see why you haven’t shown up or if even having an account is still relevant to the client because all they care about is the numbers and the money. If you are a military service member of any branch or a veteran do not give these people your time or money they will not take your lifestyle or service into account to accommodate any account related things like closures or cancellations because they literally do not care about you as a person. I can’t speak for all the YouFit places, I don’t know if it’s a Harvey/Westbank thing ir not but the owners and management of this place should be ashamed. I doesn’t feel like they changed owners because they still run the place exactly the same and they still treat their clients like garbage. Shame.

One of the worse gym experiences I have had in my life. When i move to the area, I looked for a new place to exercise and unfortunately found this place. After having a long conversation and agreeing to many different things with the sales person I signed their contract. On my first visit I was turned away for not bringing a towel, they wanted to sell me one but I didn't have my card with me and they wouldnt let me pay for one later. Meanwhile, as people were coming in, they didn't have towels either and they weren't turned away.
I attempted to cancel my membership but they said it had to be done the next day, that was strange.
When I came the next day, they wouldn't cancel my account and argue with me on why I wanted to cancel it. Once again saw several people that were not following the "guidelines".
I tried to speak with the manager and he also said thay he wouldn't cancel my account because the grace period was over the night before.
After being rude and arguing I explained that I would contact my credit card and he threatened to send me to collections because of the contract.
Plus all the hidden charges they have. I have never seen this before.
DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM.
I would give them ZERO 🌟 stars if it was possible.

The gym new rules of the way they deal with member about the monthly charge I’m the type I don’t like monthly charge or ACH for small amounts specially gym membership I have multiple memberships with other gyms I like to pay in full done deal
No fees no cancellations no cancel fee
I pay it in full and get it over with I like to pay in full specially when the amount 300 and some dollars
Not worth it to have ACH

They don’t wanna renew my membership in full pay soon in my membership expire no more return

This gym is satisfactory for working out, but the staff truly needs further training with customer service. I was talked to over the phone in a very condescending manner and when I requested to speak with the manager, I was put on hold for some time before the employee stated he spoke with the manager and there’s nothing else to be done for assistance. I further stated that I would like to speak with the manager over the employee’s rudeness. Overall, I have not been able to get in touch with the manager and I was hung up on by the employee.

If you are thinking of joining a gym do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. They tell you one thing and deliver another. Years ago it was easy to sign up and cancel without issues but now it's ridiculous. The knuckleheads they have working the front desk are brain dead and the management is over worked trying to cover for them. On top of that they say they will be having these classes or those classes but they never happen or they will tell you the gym is about to be remodeled but that never happens either. Just go somewhere else otherwise YOU'LL BE SORRY!!!

BEWARE. When you try to cancel your membership they lie and tell you you can freeze your account for no charge and then they charge you a $5 freeze fee. They also double charge for annual fees and lie and say they never got it. Even when you show your bank statements and of you being charged twice. They are liars. The gym is also sooo small and for some reason they make you have a towel. They also have hidden fees thats not on your contract. The managers are LIARS that steal your money. Good Morning. I am The AGM at the Harvey location, AN to clarify we are open 7 days a week. I know the time on here are saying that we are closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday.. That is a miss-communications. Our hours are as followed.

Monday- 5AM-11PM
Tuesday - 5AM -11PM
Wednesday -5 AM-11PM
Thursday- 5 AM-11PM
Friday - 5Am- 10PM
Saturday 8AM- 6PM
Sunday 8AM-6PM.

Considering how both gyms went through bankruptcy last year its no wonder why they are not updating any of the equipment especially the treadmills in both westbank locations. They close down and dont notify anyone and the only way to find out is to take a blank trip there. I'd give this place 1 star and to any other business discriminating against the unvacinated but it wasn't entirely their call so ill let that pass. Hoping something better comes along soon.

After having a year contract, I still had to pay to cancel my membership. I was told if I would have canceled on the last day of my contract I would've been charged $65. Instead I canceled the day after which I was charged $20 for the two memberships on my account. It's crazy you have to pay to sign up and pay to get out!!!!! It's all a scam

Would definitely have given 5 stars if they would maintain the treadmills or at least open up more of them since covid restrictions have been lifted. Half of them are closed off and out of the ones that are available to use, there are a few that are out of order. Some of the treadmills are just a lawsuit waiting to happen. I've had one stop suddenly with an error message and had I been running instead of walking I would have fallen pretty hard due to the abrupt stop. There's another treadmill with the belt torn so bad that my foot kept catching in it almost causing me to fall. I guess they will probably just put out of order signs on those two instead of fixing them. Seriously, how much can it cost to replace a belt in a treadmill? I would be ready to sign up for the yearly membership if they would just maintain the machines but no point in paying to work out in the ac if I can't always do that because so many machines are broken. If Planet Fitness was closer I would definitely go there instead because they actually maintain the machines. FIX AND/OR MAINTAIN THE MACHINES!!!

I joined Planet Fitness, Anytime fitness, I like it but they don't have sauna, spin class, or any workout classes or kickboxing. Went on your website...I was so excited to see you guys have alot of stuff!!! Saunas, Steamroom!!! spin..So so disappointed when I went to the Manhattan location to find out you guys don't have any of that!! only across the river location!!! There's gotta be a gym on the Westbank that has everything..I decided to stay at Planet Fitness because they do have some things

The $10 monthly fee has added tax so $10.92 a month. There is also annual service charge and there was supposed to be a signing service charge that they waived when i was about to walk out. Other than that, it's a good club. No longer open 24 hrs since #Coronapocalypse. The showers are open during normal hours.

Christoper Gordon: A praise report from The McClouds (ages 73 & 65), we have been members of the YouFit health Center now for about 5 years, & we had to terminate our membership because of COVID-19 being a part of all of our lives, we was out for about 7 months, but we were very anxious to return back to our second home in a very safe manner, our essential concern was the sanitation of the build, because in the pass sanitation both in the facility in Harvey & New Orleans wasn’t all that great, but I have to say that The McClouds & many more customers are comfortable & have a peace of mind in the Youfit Center, the reason for that comfort is primarily because of this young man name Christoper Gordon, we have been observing the way he has been cleaning this center, he is very profession, systemic, & knowledge about his work. Christoper Gordon is a very polite, respectable & a very helpful young man; which are characters you don’t find in most young people in this day & time, so we The McClouds tip our hat to him, & we pray Gods continue blessing over this young man live & all of his endeavor as he goes life. This young is a great keeper for your staff

The is my home away from home, the staff is very friendly and professional. I take pride in the cleanliness of the facility with COVID being a huge deal. I would recommend this gym to anyone. They continued to debit my checking account for my Algiers membership during the pandemic shutdown. I could not reach them by phone to cx. I finally saw the Manhattan branch open and went there on 6/22nd to cx. There is a $10.00 fee and it takes up to five weeks to get your money back or so they said. The management was not friendly and I felt brushed off. Will never join again.

Good place for the price but sometimes multiple treadmills are out of order. Need more 10 and 15 pound dumbbells and too many times weight machine users doing multiple sets of reps think they own the machine in between sets when they're not actively using the machine

I signed up for a free 2 week trial. Little did I know me going their once was going to cost me $35 for a "free trial". $25 for a month and $10 for canceling.I can pay online but I can't cancel online, how does that even make sense and you have to cancel 10 days before hand or you'll get charged for the next bill. All around this felt like a scam, if I'm able to sign up online I should be able to close my account online and not have to pay a $10 fee to cancel a "free" trial.

I like the equipment and staff but have a few things that reflect on the 2 star rating. Most of it being the other people at the gym affecting my experience.

Hot water in the showers didn’t work, some of the cardio machines I used almost injured me because they seemed to be used improperly or beaten down, the toilets in the men’s bathroom are occasionally clogged and/or someone decided to go on the seat itself, the water fountains have next to zero water pressure so if you didn’t bring a bottle you might be kissing the spout, and when I signed up I specifically wanted the individual membership with the lower cost but I found out after my bill withdrew from my account that clearly wasn’t the case. I attempted to ask about the obvious mistake and get it fixed but the young lady at the front desk had an incredibly bad attitude and was too busy with her phone to take the time to pay attention to what I was saying. Needless to say she stopped me short and said “the manager isn’t here, you can come back later”.

For those looking to try the gym; expect to get the experience you pay for. It gets extremely overcrowded in the evenings which is sometimes manageable but for most people it’s nearly impossible to do any sort of workout when you’re waiting 15 minutes for a spot due to the inconsiderate crown that frequents this gym. I’ve had people move my hoodie and water bottle away from my flat bench as I was grabbing weights and look at me like I was doing something wrong. Half the people there don’t put weights back. Often times I see the weights scattered about the gym with nobody near them, the rest of the time people like to hog the weights and do 20 different workouts before using them. Only a handful of people wipe the equipment they use. Yesterday I saw a group of girls braiding their hair while sitting on one of the machines I wanted to use so I had to skip that part of my workout. When I bring female guests with me they ask me if they can leave because of how the guys there act. Said they were always being stared at and even followed from one spot to another by someone trying to impress them. To sum it up, it’s a cheap gym and the crowd ruins it.

On a positive note there are a couple of really friendly staff members and the gym is cheap.

I would not recommend for anybody to come here because they did me a good hoax. First, my aunt recommended for me to go here to try a free trial. After a while, they required me to sign name and my card. Then, I asked them why I have to give my card to you. They responded “we will not charge you money.” I believed and signed my name. They did not tell me any fees when I want to cancel or something. Now they charged me $24 and $10 fee cancel. I did not know that when I signed my name. I did ask them, but they did not tell me. I’m getting mad and never come back. Just visit there will be fine. Do Not listen to them for any reasons.
