I was a Planet Fitness member, I have several medical issues(Post Polio)..I joined Champions Fitness in November 2022..Since joining, my health has Greatly improved..I Thank this wonderful recovery to the traning staff and assistance and guidence of the staff manager Renee Raymond, for their total commitment for healthy transformation which has improved my overall health..I give a 5 STAR RATING ..IF you would like to belong to a Fitness Club that has a FAMILY style, Champions Fitness Club is for You !!

Just started using this gym as Planet Fitness went under renovation for 3 weeks and due to the fact that my work insurance covers the membership. Loving the amount of equipment that the gym has compared to Planet Fitness. My only dislike is I saw no rear delt machine (not a big deal as I could do face pulls) besides that the gym is great and I recommend anyone who goes to Planet Fitness to invest in switching you won’t regret it.

I have been going to this gym for nearly 10 years and cannot say enough good things about it. It is huge, with plenty of equipment (no / hardly any wait for what you need!) and areas to work out in privacy. It is also one of the only places in the entire state that offers racquetball and wallyball courts, which I love. I can't recommend this facility enough, from the personal trainers and sports instructors, to the classes, and equipment, it is a win all the way around!

This is definitely the best gym around, there’s so much to do and so much included with a membership. The staff is so welcoming and kind, always willing to help with out being asked. The coaches involved with tennis courts are so helpful as well. The best part is that it is open 24/7, so it works around any schedule.

I have been so happy with ALL the services at Champions. This has included the manager Renee, who is just amazing, from calling first aid help for me one day or freezing my membership when I was in the hospital…she’s the best. Takes care of business with a big heart. Then there’s Jason, my tennis coach who is forever patient and always in a good mood…to Micheline who really is the best you could ask for…I look forward to every visit…can’t wait to see everyone…ITS APLACE FOR WINNERS!!! l am (was) a member of champions fitness gym. Preliminary to joining, I had her many, many negative reviews about the operations manager, Renee- despite these reviews I decided I would fabricate my own opinion; 1 tried the gym. I attended multiple classes, and throughly enjoyed them; I never had to even speak to the front desk staff excluding the single instance I was enrolling as a member- in which this was not a interaction with Renee. Renee is the Bain of the definition of rude, disrespectful, dishonest & narcissistic. I travel for work; I needed to cancel my membership as I was traveling and would be unable to attend.
Unfortunately, my request was not fulfilled for months. I let it go, and continued to be deducted the monthly membership fee of $45 for two additional months thereafter my request was made. Approaching the third month and my third request, I decided to get again- call and request this NOT happen and speak with a manager. Renee- called me back and within the third sentence out of her mouth was calling me "condescending" because I kindly asked her to stop speaking over me as she was relaying 1) incorrect information from her staff and 2) barely let me speak a entire sentence. One I was called condescending she continued to attempted to argue with me about the name calling and the associated dates of my requests. I was again able to speak one sentence before she hung up on me. I called back, she ignored. This happened multiple times, I called again- she answered and hung right up; multiple times. Finally, I waited some time to call again and SHE TURNED THE PHONES OFF!! Later on, I called finally to simply ask that my money be returned for one single month and she had another staff member by the name of Jason answer, who said he would relay the message. The gym itself is not the issue. Renee is. I am not leaving this review exclusively on this single interaction. This has been going on too long and even her own staff I consulted with has agreed. 0/10.”

It is not the fact the numeral amount is only $45- honestly, I could care less about the $45; it’s the disregard and constant disrespect to members.
It’s the principle of her constant act with no repercussions. I am simply now requesting my $45 back (which really is $135) and I will never step foot in that establishment again.

It’s too bad a single employee can give an entire business a poor reputation. There have been negative reviews for years, I prefer to not give a negative review on social media- however this is a pressing issue and if not rectified I will be filing the said report.

Even when everyone gets off work around 430-5 and the parking lot is almost full I can still find open cardio machines and benches. I love the large space. There are no pictures or videos allowed in the workout area so it’s nice not having to worry about showing up in the background of someone’s fitness vlog.

I went here for the 3 years that I was stationed here in Maine and I was happy to find out that these guys were still open. Highly prefer them to any of the competition in the area because they have good machines and a good atmosphere and the employees are always extremely polite.

I found champions fitness club to be just accommodating enough to meet my needs. I found an array of classes, from martial arts, to yoga and everyday fitness. They even had some bike classes! The locker room was clean and tidy, and the locker access was simple and to the point, with enough space for my gym back and street shoes. They have a sauna available to members which made a very pleasant addition to the experience, as I like to warm up my muscles before I stretch and lift. There is also extra room to work out, and train with kick boxing bags, as well as a small boxing gym area. The only improvements I would like to see, are more options for protein at the snack area, as well as better required cleaning procedures in the lift room, and a more sanitized water bottle station.

My work had a gather here to play golf tennis pickle ball all the stuff you can do here. Im Not one to frequent many fitness clubs but heck this place had alot to offer ALOT and plenty to do. Got me wanting to definitely return back. Worth definitely checking out

Went for kick boxing. Hadnt been for a long time and instructor made it fun and not too challenging. I think it is a bit expensive there. Planet fitness has a lot more equipement for $25 month as well as newer, up to date and a LOT more options for tanning. Champions looks like they bought planet fitness old equipment, 1 tanning booth that looks like you are going to be alien probed in it, and no instructions on Sauna for $40 a month. Liked the place but not that much. Will stay with Planet fitness and maybe pay for a day pass here and there at Champions.

I've been going here since i was a kid, there have been a lot improvements in the gym since then. Lots of space, machine/equipment selection, and a lot of potential for new training equipment, Always a great workout here. There's some changes I would like but even if they didn't its still a great gym regardless. Awesome staff and community at Champions and its 24/7. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

In times of COVID I would expect signage regarding social distancing and mask recommendations. Unfortunately there is no signage about wearing masks, no signage about social distancing, no hand-sanitizing stations, and when I left a message with the Operations Director to discuss she never returned my call. Granted she was out sick at the time...draw your own conclusions. I cancelled my membership as they're just not looking out for the health of their membership. Also, the locker rooms have not been updated since I used to go here in the 80s. Pretty gross.

The gym itself is fabulous. My wife and I will use it from time to time when traveling through for work. The last time we stopped in the manager was rude. We rented the golf simulator and it kept freezing on us. When the kid from the front desk came to help us, he reaked of Marijuana. Additionally the locker rooms were disgusting. There were about 3 types of equipment that were broken. Not sure if covid is running this place into the ground or the management. We had a horrible experience at a place we once loved.

I have been working out for most of my adult life. I have been a member at a few gyms in Waterville, and I have visited all of them to use their facilities. Nothing compares to Champion's Fitness Center. The friendly staff and amazing array of classes they offer make being a member well worth it.
