Great climbing even with the auto belays. Gets a bit crowded on the floor and the day I was there people were having conversations in front of the walls for long periods of time making it difficult for others to use the walls.

I enjoy going to Evo with my daughter and recovery community! The gym is beginner friendly with a children's area and auto belays, but also offers challenges for the more experienced climbers. The atmosphere is always welcoming and the gym offers multiple ways to connect with the climbing community through group climbs and lessons. The staff are always friendly and helpful!

I'm normally not a rock climbing person but this place made me feel really safe and really confident that I could give it a try being safe. The staff are so kind and coordinated and prepared with each other and able to connect with kids and adults. I came here on a school trip and everyone was so friendly. I highly recommend this place to people who haven't been here before and possibly want to come here on a daily basis. They also have a lot of really good options for things that you can try. There are a lot of cool places in the building where they have color coordination so you can just go by color or you can mix it up and go whatever you feel most comfortable with. It's very inclusive.

In Portland for business and wanted to get some climbing in. Dory at the front desk got us checked in quickly and gave us a quick tour. Clean, organized, fun routes, and tall walls (compared to my local gym in Richmond VA). They have not one but TWO kid sections if you’re trying to get your little ones interested. Also has a treadmill wall which was pretty cool. We had a blast. Definitely worth a stop if you’re visiting and a gem for those who are local. Thanks EVO!

There's a lot going on here! The first thing you notice is how welcoming and friendly everyone is. There are several smaller areas for kids and beginners, many climbing, bouldering, and lead climbing areas. They have a yoga studio and weight training area. Just an awesome, fun place to kill an afternoon.

Solid gym. Spacious and clean, with showers. Training facilities include a T2 (adjustable, half size), treadwall, BM 1000 and 2000, and decent weight area (squat rack, bench, treadmil, bike, rowing machine).

Concrete walls with more traditional, resistance-based setting, but overall good movement and resources: some fiber glass on the wall, enjoyable moves that made sense. I only bouldered, and cannot speak for the lead and top rope, but it did seem that the low end of the climbs (V1-2) were somewhat stiff and that there are an insufficient number of climbs at the upper end (V8+). Fun for a day pass, but an advanced climber might find themselves without a project after a bit. Would definitely return for another session if I found myself in the area.

We got a $100 gift card for their Louisville CO location, but it went out of business. The main location in Portland Maine has their name and phone number on the gift card, but they claim no relation to the closed one. So they took our $100 and said too bad.

Bouldering wall was pretty disappointing. A lot of the grades felt off and most of the wall was sloped. Most of the space was belay climbing, would not recommend for bouldering.

The staff here is so friendly and welcoming compared to Salt Pump. Truthfully, I think the Salt Pump facility is better, but community is such an important aspect of climbing and I would rather climb at a gym that doesn’t have rude staff members. I also think the setting at Evo is better than the setting at Salt Pump.

Overall, if you’re trying to decide which gym is worth a membership, I’d vote for Evo over Salt Pump.

We had a great time rock climbing here! The rock climbing walls are huge and are so fun with the auto belays. I also loved that there was a separate kids section so people with different skill levels could practice there. Overall we loved it, highly recommend!!

Great line climbing, including auto-belay systems. Small bouldering area, not many beginner grades. Second story has treadwall, LED wall, campus boards and a small gym with weights and treadmills.

Classes daily, $19 day pass, rentals for shoes, chalk, and harnesses are separate. Friendly staff.

Very nice climbing gym! Great place to come and climb around, very welcoming atmosphere! There are lots of different walls to choose from depending on what type of climbing you want to do. They also have a room for yoga and treadmills for running.

Staff are excessively rude. And bouldering routes are mid tier. Going to salt pump next time. Love the community outside of the staff. Specifically the setters seem to be gatekeeping and rude to anybody that isn’t either a staff member or in the competitive team. To be clear there are some really cool staff members, it’s just some very specific staff members that ruined the experience. During multiple different occasions.

Have been a member since 2015 & I have remained one because I appreciate the community (evo) provides. They take into account as many people as possible when building programs and policies to support inclusivity and safety. I would be remiss for not mentioning my absolute love of Wednesday nights for #WomenCrushWednesday #senditsister And Thursday night LGBTQ+ Let’s not forget adaptive programming. Can’t wait for the citizen comp, struggle bus, to return. Thank you Evo!

This is a nice climbing gym! It's mostly focus on top roping which is not what I usually go for, but they have a little bouldering area as well that I thought was nicely set up. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean and well maintained. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area again!

Climbing is supposed to have a moment of awe, every time; whether it’s the view or that feeling of a successful send. EVO is big enough, open enough, & just plain cool enough to bring a little bit of awe inside. There’s multiple routes for everyone, kids stuff, crazy & fun bouldering problems, & walls tall enough to induce some arm shaking.
Best of all, the vibe is inclusive (no small feat in climbing gyms), & staff is friendly & knowledgeable.
Highly recommended.

Overall, this place was SUPER fun. It had higher walls than I've climbed before, and a great selection of 5.6 through 5.14. I spent less time bouldering but it seemed to be the more popular area of the gym. The only thing I didn't love was that the liquid chalk was very expensive and a necessity to use. That said, they supplied some bottles for free use as well.

Overall, indoor climbing here was fantastic!

$20 for a day pass with ladies' night on Wednesdays means it's pretty affordable to come here with friends on a weeknight! They have a cap of 50 people right now, so we called ahead to make sure we wouldn't be bringing them to capacity (you can also check the site). The bouldering section isn't huge but it's nice, wish the routes were slightly better labeled / consistently tagged with v#s. The top rope section was much larger. There's also an upstairs weight room and treadwall, which we didn't use.

Good, friendly service, cool-looking swag. Fun times!

Only people 14 or older can do anything else but climb a total of 4 walls, one of which is the boulder wall. Third party waiver as well, it was really hard to understand. Probably will never come back, or at least 2 damn years.

I've been to about 10 random rock gyms around the country in the last couple years while travelling, this was easily in the top ranks. Tall walls, good routes, good equipment and setups. Very good.

Only minor complaints: the route setters appear to like reach-y routes (a lot more moves required "full wingspan" and were disproportionally harder for my wife), and the tape-coordination for marking routes is always a slight frustration. Still, waaaay better than I expected.
