I noticed I was charged a late fee on my account when I asked why. I was informed that there was a change in the payment policy where debit cards are automatically charged a late fee. When I asked if there was any written communication about the policy change so I could've addressed the issue before I had gotten the late fee. The young lady I spoke to on the phone was rude, extremely dismissive, and my favorite quote was " we have 15,000 members and it's not our job to red flag everybody". You would think if there was a change in policy, you'd inform your customers so that they can have an informed discussion. They have terrible phone etiquette, and the bathrooms are always disgusting, and I could've dealt with the nasty bathrooms. But being yelled at and treated rudely by an employee was enough. Run far away from this place.

I travel domestically 75% of the year. So, I'm in countless planet fitness locations. This one is by far the dirtiest, which is such a shame. Ive never seen such dirty gym equipment that is covered from top to bottm in dust. Nor have I ever seen so many areas of puckered flooring. The customer service is nonexistent as well. No greeting or goodbye. But, if I had to choose between friendly staff and clean equipment, I'll take clean equipment. I'm not there for the staff.

The equipment is in great condition. There are MANY different type of machines as well as multiples of each machine. The black card club is my secret place to get out, get a massage, tan a little, and relax. The staff is on point, all the time. Horrible communication! Manager is almost never available and always am brushed off by the few people that are always at the counter.

I started my black card membership at the end of January… then I started noticing every month multiple fees and charges that did not make sense on top of the monthly fee. Every time I attempted to get in touch with a manager I was brushed off or told they were not in that day or to try the next day. Never given a schedule or guaranteed time I could see them. It was to the point I finally just decided to cancel my membership last month.

Then this month I yet again receive an attempted charge for Planet Fitness. I call asking about why this has occurred as I canceled my plan last month. They check my number and state it says canceled and “as long as it didn’t charge my account it shouldn’t be a problem” the ONLY reason it didn’t charge was because I did not have money in that account at that time. After being brushed off again I went in person. Yet again the manager was not there. I was told they’d be in within the hour.

I explain everything to the person at the front counter to find I have had a complete second account that was charging me alongside the one I was actually using. When I called I was told the account with my number was canceled, but in person they somehow saw I had a second one associated with my number. It made zero sense.

I was denied a refund despite never being informed via email that this account even existed- or being able to access it and having over $100+ in fees charged to it alongside the account I was actually aware of. I left my name and number to be contacted by the manager when they came in and it has been several hours later with no phone call.

The gym was nice enough if you don’t count the lack of paper towels/cleaning station supplies, somewhat rude staff when you have actual concerns that need addressing, and overall terrible communication/customer service. I feel like I was robbed and received little to no care or consideration when it was brought to attention.

The toilets in the ladies locker room have little to no water pressure. This results in the toilets being left in a state of “unflushed”. The water temperature in the sinks are freezing; how are you supposed to sanitizer your hands in freezing cold water? I have been a member of Planet Fitness on and off for years. I miss how well Shelia the old manager used to run the gym. Always clean, employees almost never just standing around. Never worried about paper towels being stocked. Yesterday was the cleanest the gym had been in a long time. I am assuming because they were having an inspection. I do miss how it used to be set up, a lot more space between equipment. I like the new equipment they have been getting in. I do think it is worth 25 dollars a month. Been a member for many years. Overall, I'm happy. But, the new treadmills are garbage. As far as I can tell (with my very informal survey of other long term members) they are universally despised. I have yet to talk to someone happy with the change. Too bad, it's kind of ruined the experience; good treadmills are sort of the centerpiece of a gym's cardio arsenal. Although I'm happy with everything else, (new hack squat, seated calf, and bikes are great) I'm considering switching gyms only because of the treadmills. Having bad treadmills is like having a bad turkey at Thanksgiving; doesn't matter how great everything else is if the centerpiece is lackluster.

I am using PF as an extension or in addition to my Cardiac Rehab. I am a Black Club member so I can enjoy the free tanning and massage couch with I use to reward myself after a 2 hour work out. It truly is a no judgement zone. I see people of all ages there from their 20's to their 70's. Everyone does there own thing and minds their own business. The staff is friendly.

I have been a member at a few other planet fitness gyms and this one is by far the best I have been in. Ive been going to this location for about 4 months now and have never been uncomfortable, felt the place was dirty, the staff rude or the machines lacking. I tell people I know, this is the place to be- the atmosphere is great and the people are super kind. The staff are very helpful, very professional and always busy keeping up with what needs to be done..whether that be refilling spray bottles or paper towels, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms etc. It is a great crew and a great location- I highly recommend!

Every single time I come here people will plop down on the machine right next to me despite there being about a dozen other open machines. This complete lack of awareness or basic gym etiquette makes this place unpleasant. It probably wouldn't be that bad except the machines are only about six inches apart so these other people are basically sweating on you while you're working out. It's pretty gross.

I have been to the Bangor location several times over the past 15 years, and this may be the worst condition I've ever seen their cardio equipment. It appears they switched out all of their cardio equipment for older machines that are not in good shape at all.
I tried multiple ellipticals until I finally found one that wasn't wobbly.
The treadmills were horrible - it felt as though I was running on concrete. I usually run 3 or 4 miles but couldn't even run 1 minute on any of the treadmills (I tried multiple ones).
Free weights and the weight machines were fine.
Not worth the $10 per month fee, and definitely not worth $10 day pass.

I live full time in a skoolie while traveling the country, planet fitness is my go to for a long hot steamy shower that isn’t limited by my tank size and fuel levels. This review is my personal comparison having been to tons of other planet fitness locations and based entirely on the quality of the locker room and shower facilities.

Locker room- very basic. There are only two benches which would make it crowded during busy times. Paper towels are littered about the floor. There’s a pair of underwear in a corner

Showers. Entering there’s two private changing rooms and four showers in the basic PF configuration. It smells like burning hair and the air grate hasn’t been cleaned in years. The showers were however clean and very hot very quickly. No fluctuations in temps.

This PF could be nice if it were a little cleaner.

I travel a lot, so hit up a few different gyms. And a lot of PFs. This particular place isn't bad. Staff is pleasant overall clean. However must of the time I come here the showers are unclean. I've literally come here on a Wed it's dirty, come back on Sat and still dirty with the same trash and ick. There's actually a layer of dirty soapscum covering all the showers. Understanding at home a shower cleaning may be a once a week chore, but when dozens of showers are taken a day, they should be cleaned daily and picked up throughout. There's no reason I should expect a dirty shower when I come here.

I've been a member here for many years and I am extremely disappointed that this club did away with the Life Fitness treadmills and replaced them with Matrix treadmills. While I fully realize that the Life Fitness ones were quite old, kept breaking down, and were well overdue for replacement, these new Matrix machines are absolutely TERRIBLE. I cannot run on these flaming heaps of garbage without extreme leg and lower back pain. Why any gym would have treadmills with no shock absorbency whatsoever is far beyond me. At least the Life Fitness ones had the FlexDeck technology that provided a great deal of shock absorption and I never had problems with those. I could run like a gazelle on them. I am very disappointed that they did not at least stay with the Life Fitness brand. I did some research on these new Matrix treadmills and found a significant number of complaints online identical to mine, so I know it's not just me. They are like running on solid concrete. I ran on my own commercial grade NordicTrack treadmill at home yesterday and had no issues whatsoever, so the problem is definitely isolated to these new Matrix machines. This was an exceedingly poor choice. I am at the point where I am seriously considering switching gyms, which I hate to do as I have always loved Planet Fitness, but I am not going to continue putting myself at risk of injury by running on the new Matrix treadmills, nor will I pay for a membership at a club that has equipment that I cannot use. This is beyond frustrating.

Lastly, I agree with another recent review that mentioned people "camping" on weight equipment while just sitting on their phones. This is extremely poor gym etiquette and has become a significant issue as of late, yet none of the staff monitor this and allow it to continue, and it is only getting worse. This should not be allowed whatsoever as it is entirely unfair to keep others who actually want to use the equipment waiting while someone takes up a machine just to use their phone. Not cool at all.

This gym is conveniently located and has lots of space and decent equipment. When I go to a gym, I want to be in and out, efficiently, get my time at the free weights and specific muscle group machines done in rotation, keeping my heart rate up. Today, at at least eight different machine stations, other "users" were just sitting there, texting or whatever on their phones. I waited a few minutes, but .... they just SAT there! I can understand a minute between sets, but this was more like 5 minutes of the slugs just sitting at the machines. I walked around looking for open machines or available weights in my use range, and spend more time looking at the slugs just sitting there doing thumb and finger exercises on their cell phones. Really, I looked at about 8 workout stations, and at every one, the "users" were sitting there with their phones texting or talking, not using the machine. How rude. I think the staff should patrol the floow for these abusers of the space.

Called to the local club as instructed to on the website, surprised there was no way to cancel in the app. Was instructed to cancel online in a new portal (FAQ still says you need to come in or write a letter) and when you click on cancel, the page is down. Called again and was rudely told it wasn't difficult to leave and to just come in. It's 2024, You could cancel a Blockbuster subscription over the phone in the 90s. I can cancel every service imaginable online, but I need to write a letter or drive two hours away to cancel my membership to the place with a bad history of misleading customers..

I cancelled my membership in 2022 due to the majority of the employees being rude and unprofessional. I came back for a day pass during the power outages and none of those employees work here anymore. Everyone at the desk has been helpful and friendly. Not sure if the previous employees quit or were let go but i gladly signed up at planet fitness again now that they are gone and will once again recommend this gym.

I have zero complaints honestly. The gym is clean, the staff are professional and attentive when you need them. When you don't need them they aren't under you making things uncomfortable but are nearby ready to assist if need be. The other patrons seem to mind their own which is nice. Some of the younger patrons could have better etiquette in the locker room but they're certainly not the worst I've seen at a gym. Good place.

This planet fitness has a good size open air cardio space and weight rack. Many of their systems were down for black card members but I only needed the massage chairs so it didn’t bother me one bit. I had no problems visiting or bringing a friend for free. Friendly staff!

Been coming for a couple of years. Amazing the change in a few short years. The laziness of ( some) employees is quite obvious. 1/2 the time they are behind counter sitting/ sleeping in bean bags or so engrossed on their phone the acknowledgment of guests is gone. Paper towel dispensers empty sanitizer bottles same or not even in dispenser.. trash.. empty water bottles/ candy wrappers left behind. The place is dirty and become dumpy.

The staff are what make this place the best place to go. Has everything you could ask for when it comes to equipment, but of course it is still a planet fitness and there are always some wacky characters that you may encounter, though most people are very easy to work around. Would recommend, even for just a day pass.

I love this gym. It is so affordable compared to other gyms in my area, and there is enough equipment for my purposes.
