I dropped into the evening class tonight and left feeling completely renewed. The studio is warm, clean, and filled with natural light—perfect for unwinding after a long day. Our instructor, Tizzy, guided us with such grace, offering clear cues, thoughtful modifications, and just the right balance of challenge and ease.
The sequence was creative yet accessible, the music was spot-on, and the community vibe was genuinely welcoming—no pretension, just good energy. Even as a first-timer, I felt right at home even in a packed house which was a cool experience!
Highly recommend for anyone in Portland looking to move, breathe, and reconnect. I’ll definitely be back! 🤲🏻✨🫶🏻

I was a first-time visitor to Portland Yoga Collective and tried out the unlimited 1-week pass, which was a great way to get to know the studio. I took a mix of classes, mostly vinyasa but also one focused on somatic healing and a yin/breathwork class. All of the teachers were knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming, and seemed to know everyone’s names, which made the classes feel very personal. The space itself has a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in and focus. I’m definitely planning to continue taking classes here in the future. Highly recommend!

You can feel how intentionally Jess built PYC in every detail, especially the quality of the teachers and the depth of their knowledge about the history of yoga. I take classes virtually from home and can confidently say it's a better experience that 99% of the yoga studios in my state.

Took my first ever yoga class at Portland Yoga Collective this month, and it exceeded expectations. The instructors were clear, focused, and encouraging . The environment was calm and welcoming—felt easy to walk in as a first-timer. Ended up signing up for a monthly membership. Solid spot if you’re looking to add yoga into your routine without any pressure or pretense.

While I was vacationing in Maine I took 3 classes at the Portland Yoga Collective which was within walking distance of my hotel. I found the well appointed, modern and clean studio to be very nice with brick walls and lots of yoga accessories. The staff were really friendly and helpful and I enjoyed the classes. I would go back for sure if i was back in Portland. Oh and the other participates were also very friendly.

My wife and I are from Vermont and visiting the Portland area for a month. We have attended 3 Pilates classes so far and LOVE IT! The studio has great vibes. Tizzy is a great instructor. I’m a first time Pilates girl, so it’s important I have a good instructor. She definitely gave me a great workout. You can’t go wrong with this studio. Great experience!

I was so impressed with the quality of instruction and overall vibe at PYC. As a bit of a fitness snob, my bar was unreasonably high and the PYC gals smashed right through it. Welcoming, challenging, fun, humorous. The sense of community was strong. I'd buy anything these lovely folks were selling. Highly recco!

I joined Portland Yoga Collective about a month ago, and I have had nothing but an amazing experience. As a plus size woman, it is extremely hard to find a fitness studio that feels safe and welcoming. From the moment I stepped into the studio, the PYC team was so kind, and embraced me in their classes. Owner Jess is so sweet, and always takes the time to stop and welcome me in. I've tried several of their classes, from Vinyasa to Yin Yoga, and no matter what level the class is, I have always felt comfortable and safe at PYC. The instructors I've met are all so nice, and always make efforts to meet you at your yoga level, such as suggesting alternative measures to make poses easier and more accessible. Attending classes at PYC has been such a benefit to my life, and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a yoga studio.

This is a wonderful yoga studio. They have a wide variety of classes, meeting the needs of beginning and advanced practitioners. The teaching team is filled with talented teachers. The space is warm, beautiful, and easy to navigate. And they are priced better than any studio around. All of this makes them popular. So you want to make sure you sign up for classes and get there a little early if you want to be able to pick your spot.

I think I have officially decided that PYC is my favorite yoga studio in Portland. When I want to practice yoga, whether vinyasa or yin or restorative, the classes never disappoint. When I want a full body burn in 45 minutes, the SWEAT class is the best thing there is. There is something very special about this space. I think it is an air of inclusivity and lack of pretentiousness that makes it feel so good. It is so refreshing.

PYC is lovely!
I took 2 classes from Tizzy. She made challenging things fun and understandable.Yet many option were availiable for all abilities and bodies. Her pacing and transitions are exceptional! 10/10 for both classes! Take her class!

I had one class from Christina which was Yin and restorative. When the fire alarm went off in a jarring way, Chirstina calmly moved us to a new space and had us all relaxed again in no time. Her twisted root over a bolster was my favorite. I love they way she moved herself around the room so we could always see her. Take her class!

Portland Yoga Collective is such a special, supportive movement community. PYC honors the cultural tradition of yoga and makes yoga and movement an inclusive experience. In this world there are not many places where all bodies, abilities, and backgrounds are welcome to move and breathe and feel safe, but PYC is one of them. The teachers are knowledgeable, adaptive, and articulate, making the space feel intellectually, kinetically, and sensorially stimulating. At PYC, I’ve been able to continue my journey in making peace in and with my body: finding movement that feels fantastic and also nourishes my spirit.

I discovered this studio shortly after moving back to Portland. In addition to being only a 10 minute walk from home, my experience has been wonderful. The staff is welcoming (especially Jess, Tizzy, and Christine) and greet you by name. The studio offers a variety of classes and each one is taught a little differently so I don't get yoga boredom! I sometimes go to yoga right from a run so it's convenient that I'm able to keep my yoga mat at the studio as a yearly member. While I may be the studio's oldest member, I never feel out of place.

Was in town visiting Mike and Jess with some friends and finally got a chance to stop by the studio for a class. I drive up from Boston to visit a friend who lives in Portland who has a membership to PYC~
The last two time's I've visited her, we've booked several classes, which has been a lovely way to spend our time together as opposed to just going out to dinner or grabbing drinks.
I've been to 3 classes total so far, and each one was EXCELLENT- Different instructors each time with different styles of teaching, which I love because it keeps my brain happy and my body "on it's toes", I never know what to expect!
Each studio is beautiful, open, and clean, and the studio provides you with everything you need if you come empty handed (I forgot my mat at home!)
Classes are super affordable, which makes it easy to justify spending an hour of my day hanging out doing yoga instead of dropping $100 for cocktails or brunch (which we also do sometimes, but this is such a nice addition to our visits!)
I'll absolutely be back next time I'm in town!

I’m not from the area, but have a regular practice at home and when I travel - mostly for business. I happened upon this studio by chance. Having practiced all over the world, I can say with confidence this studio is among the best for vinyasa. Why? Because the teachers comport themselves with humble confidence, included a spiritual element in the practice, and don't rush savasana. All important elements often neglected by other teachers and studios - especially in America. Namaskara.

As somebody very recently returned to yoga, I thank my lucky stars for the connections that landed me in the PYC studio. Liz's effervescense conjured strength in me that I wasn't sure was there, Danielle's articulation of metta in gentle yoga quieted my mind enough to enjoy deep relaxation, Tizzy's music- so top notch, Cayce's words and affirmation during restorative, "if it's not a resounding yes, it's a no" whew! (I changed my position midway through a hold- game changer)....I've never been so comfortable anywhere as a newcomer. Jess has built a space for the most wonderful community to gather and breathe. I'm eternally grateful to be here, and I can't wait to regain the upper body strength to flow through chaturangas once again....though it may always take me one and a half breaths. 10/10 recommend at the top of my lungs.

I have been practicing regularly at Portland Yoga Collective (PYC) for nearly two years. It is truly a delightful place. I am grateful for the community PYC provides, the fantastic teaching staff, and the attention to every detail from Jess. I recently added PYC Sweat to my routine and in just two months have noticed increased stability and strength when I practice. Tizzy and Jennifer have converted me from a skeptic to a believer. Give it a try, you might also get hooked!

I booked a private yoga class at Portland Yoga Collective for a bachelorette party and it was an amazing experience. The studio is beautiful and mirror-free, which allowed us all to focus on our own experience. Jess was an incredible teacher with a calm energy. I don't think it matters what skill level you are I think you can find something for everyone with this organization. I am no expert, I have only taken 2 classes so far and it seems like then know what they are doing. and are executing

I moved to Maine a little over a year ago to have a fresh start after my military and contracting career. Adjusting has had its fair share of challenges and I have gotten to the point in my journey where I am seeking spiritual and physical balance. I was a little nervous at first and that was squashed almost immediately. Everyone from the instructors to the students have been so kind, warm, accepting and patient. I am definetely the least skilled practitioner of yoga in the two classes I have been to and they have never made me feel that way. I look forward to expanding my knowledge and use it as an aid to progress on my journey.

I started attending classes at PYC in January 2023. Having the intimacy the space offers as you enter the door, you find a caring, considerate, genuine community of teachers. Jess offered openness immediately, dismantling all doubt I had created when facing growth in my practice. Schedule interference: I had a pause from regular attendance. When I again started adding more classes in the past few months, the welcoming environment I experienced remained.
I believe Jess created an intimate space. In my case, I needed this intimacy to continue my willingness to show up and be present for myself and the community. Though my experience has only been with a few teachers, my yoga practice keeps brightly expanding this intimacy and care I selfishly seek weekly, weaving many felt connections consciously and unconsciously needed. Self and discipline grow in each movement. In gratitude, I highly recommend PYC!

2024: I completed my yoga teacher training at PYC this past fall and I have truly fallen more in love with this studio. All the teachers here are incredibly knowledgeable and learning from them is such a gift. I feel so lucky to have found PYC and the community Jess has cultivated around it. Some of my best friendships in Portland have been made at this studio and all the best yoga classes I have taken have been here. I cannot recommend this studio enough to Portland residents and visitors alike!

2023: PYC is an inviting studio that allows you to practice yoga without pressure. They have an adorable little studio with gorgeous exposed brick and a lack of mirrors which creates an environment where you can just focus on how you feel in the movement of class. The staff (owner and teachers) are so welcoming and engaged. Practicing here has quickly become a highlight of my week. They also offer fun classes at local businesses in Portland and an outdoor series during the summer, both of which I’ve tried and recommend! If you need a little yoga in your life, get your butt to PYC!!!!! :))
