Kathleen and I are having a great experience at Spurling. We are extremely happy working with Coach Nick. He explains each exercise clearly and is readily available for questions. Having a limited number of slots each session allows them to focus on your own program as needed. Coach Arie also is very helpful too! Both also have a great sense of humor.

If you’re reading this review, most likely your “searching” for a gym that is different from the many you have tired through the years. A place where you’re not self-conscious. A place where you’re not working out with 20-year-olds wearing Lulu Lemons. Spurling Fitness is it. I am 70 years old. I have had several surgeries and prior injuries. I had been mostly sedentary for too many years. With their personalized small group sessions, knowledgeable trainers that simply “get it,” my range of motion has improved, I can breathe freely after a flight of stairs, my jeans are fitting better, and I don’t feel judged…at all. Nick and Arie keep me motivated and 😃.

I’ve been a member at Spurling Fitness in the Scarborough location for 3 months now. It’s different from any other gym I’ve ever been to. In other gyms, I didn’t feel comfortable because they catered to a young/fit demographic and I didn’t know what to do for a workout or how to operate the equipment. Spurling is so welcoming to the 50+ crowd. Coach Nick & Coach Ari create & teach workouts that really meet your fitness goals and adjust for any limitations you might have to work around. I already see improvement in my strength, balance & my clothes fit better too. I actually look forward to working out now…..which is something I have never said before.

I am very happy to have found Spurling Fitness Scarborough. It is exactly what I needed and what I wanted. I also can’t say enough good things about all the coaches. Coach Nick has been excellent from the first time we met. He answers questions and explains about the different exercises. My “old” knees are definitely improving and most importantly my balance!!

My friend told me that Spurling Fitness was opening a new gym in Scarborough catering to older folks. I am 83 years old with arthritis is my knees, back and shoulders. I just spent $16,000 on a procedure that didn’t help. Steroid shots sent me to the ER with high blood pressure. I have been going to Spurling Fitness for about 10 sessions now and family and friends are telling me I am really walking and moving much better. I am grateful for the wonderful and caring trainers that create and design a workout that is best for me…And it is almost fun!❤️😂😂😂

Working out at Spurling Fitness with Coach Nick and Coach Ari has been the perfect way to restart a fitness program after two surgeries and a year on crutches. It’s small enough so I get the personal attention of a 1 on 1 personal trainer and a personalized program, as well as the camaraderie of a group - all of which has helped me gain confidence and fueled my desire to get strong again. Workouts are just right because the trainers tweak them just for me! I love the atmosphere, we have fun while taking our training seriously! Spurling Fitness is Super clean and organized, the equipment is brand new, and the space perfect for our small groups. What interested me in this gym is the 55+ age. The Scarborough gym is small and personal. A trainer is always ready to help with an exercise or answer any questions. I have been doing physical therapy and my therapist thinks both of these will work well together. The gym also agreed to talk to my pt to have a program that works for me. Very pleased.

I joined Spurling Fitness to help myself get back in shape after a few years away from the gym. Nick is in charge of the small group training program at the new Scarborough location. He is exceptional. Clients work at different levels and Nick keeps us all organized and challenged based on our individual needs and abilities. He does it with his great knowledge of physiology and has the ability to modify any exercise to ensure we won’t injure ourselves. He is encouraging without being patronizing. You will not regret joining!
