The beginner unlimited month deal cannot be beat anywhere and was a generous way to get to know what instructors, classes and which studio worked for me. PYP offers the most variety in terms of class offerings that I still can't find anywhere else. It's a 40 minute drive so I can't frequent as much as I'd like but 10/10 would rec!

I went to my first PYP Class recently at the β€œin town” location .
What a beautiful space with three different floors all thoughtful done. The main floor where the studio is was very welcoming and bright and thoughtfully laid out with a beautiful prop room next to the main studio room. I took a vinyasa class on a Sunday so the class was quite full but managed well by the excellent teacher. I will definitely go again and keep trying different classes and teachers. The PYP has a very good reputation for a good reason. I would definitely recommend it.

PYP is an excellent studio. All the instructors are excellent and I appreciate the variety of classes on offer. I switch around between Hatha, Yin, Restorative, Rolling and Mobility, Barre, and sometimes Vinyasa. They frequently have helpful workshops on specific topics. I've been practicing there consistently for around 2 years and recommend them without reservation.

This place is amazing! Knowledgeable and kind staff. Very welcoming place. Classes for all kinds of people including BIPOC, LGTBQIA, and trauma. Classes are varied and welcoming to all levels of yoga, barre, and matte. There is something for everyone here! Thank you to the amazing staff for being so kind and welcoming. Also, their retreats are amazing! Nicaragua, Spain, and Finland for starters. I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a unique and excellent yoga or barre experience.

I paid online for a vinyasa class. When I arrived they didn't see my name but confidently pointed to which room I should enter. When class began the person teaching announced "wow a room where everyone is queer" and someone said it was free so I guess i had been put in a free queer class. I checked my bank later and I had paid for a regular class... the classes are very entry level and playful or silly, I've tried quite a few classes there. If youre looking for inclusive, playful, entry level place to feel safe and reduce stress this is your spot. Im not impressed, overall, and its definitely not for me. Hoping to find a studio where quality yoga teaching and management are the first priority, not gender and inclusivity projects. Perhaps the studio could be renamed to "Portland inclusivity in yoga project". I had to Google what queer was and I felt uncomfortable because I had no idea what was going on. I think this studio should try harder to be "inclusive" to everyone not just less common types of people

I just wrapped up a 30-day trial pass at Portland Yoga Project and loved every minute of it. I tried a mix of yoga, barre, build, and matte classes with a variety of instructors - and every class felt welcoming, well-paced, and thoughtfully led.

What really sets PYP apart is the range of classes, the community vibe, and the flexibility of having two studio locations. I especially love the Forest Ave space - plenty of free parking and such an easy in-and-out.

I’m planning to continue going and can’t wait to explore even more classes and check out some of their upcoming workshops. Highly recommend for anyone looking for movement, strength, and a little more calm in their week!

Every class I’ve taken has been wonderful. From trauma-informed and grief yoga to rolling cranky muscles and restorative classes, I've left class feeling renewed. The teachers are incredible and the vibe just what you want in a yoga studio. They even offer a $30 for 30 days unlimited class pass to try it.
With plenty of parking (Forest Ave location), showers, spacious common area, and many happy clients milling about between classes, you’re sure to find what you need for the experience you desire.

My first class at PYP was in November 2021, and it also happened to be my first ever yoga class. Over the past three years, I've gone to 150 or so more classes, learning and growing from conscientious, thoughtful teachers. I love the space, and I love the community. Seeing the same faces over the years has helped me make connections and feel at home.

However, my favorite thing about PYP is the rigor. The classes are all challenge by choice, but the build-up so well done. If you really listen to the teachers, the subtle adjustments lead to big progress. I feel stronger and am way more thoughtful about my body.

I found PYP to be welcoming to everyone without being pseudo-spiritual or appropriative, which is also very important to me. I can't wait for the new space!

I recently joined The Yoga Project for their $30/30 day special their running and I have not been disappointed! I made it a goal of mine to attend one class every day for all 30 days to see if it would improve my mental health, hormonal shifts and just every day life - I’m 16 days in and while it’s been tough to stay true to my commitment, I have made it a priority and am already having major shifts through all aspects of my life. Theres classes from 7am - 7pm so this flexibility of choosing the best time for me to go each day has been perfect. Easy online booking and a safe space to move your body and work through stuck emotions. 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ok, I am not a natural yoga practitioner partly because I am older and a bit self conscious in a yoga environment. So it is a testament to the folks at PYP, both staff and fellow students, as to their collective kindness and warmth. The environment is wonderful! The space is beautiful but not pretentious. The instructors are incredibly skilled yet completely outward focused and inclusive, wonderfully light in their manner. And the classes? I’m so impressed with the number of different classes; from barre to vinyasa to restorative yoga. I love it! I consider myself an athlete and feel that PYP is my go to place for indoor fitness. It’s that complete. I love the people. I love the space. The value of the monthly membership is tremendous given the breadth of the schedule. And the 30 days unlimited for $30 is the best introductory deal there is. Obviously, I recommend PYP without any reservations.

Staff at The PYP was welcoming and helpful during my first visit. I've taken a few yoga and matte classes and have enjoyed all of them so far. They have a variety of offerings and I appreciate being able to schedule online. Classes can get a little full and being that close to others while having freedom of movement can be tricky. Overall, I definitely recommend checking them out!

Highly recommend this YOGA studio. Teachers are exceptional and there is a wide variety of classes (Vinyasa, Yin, Gentle Flow, Restorative, Barre) offered throughout the day, 7days a week. Super clean. Welcoming environment. I am doing the 30 day for $30 trial session. I have taken 10 classes and will be joining the studio.

Mostly young crowd, but there are enough old timers like me too!

Added benefit: There is plenty of parking...and yes it is in Portland.

Almost didn't want to tell you how brilliant it is to practice yoga here at PYP because it's so so good and it's like a little secret spot in Portland. There's a regular temperature, and really good teachers, and a vibe that is welcoming and inclusive. You don't have to feel like you're doing everything right. I've been a member at PYP for about 5.5 years. Their studio was one of the first yoga studios I had ever been to that made me as a yoga/Barre novice feel unequivocally welcome. Jess, Elizabeth, Lauren and their team of instructors are amazing. I've never had a bad experience here and as someone who has injuries and mobility issues, they always help me find a way to modify. I absolutely adore PYP and recommend them to anyone from yoga/Barre novice to guru.

I also recently completed their Barre Teacher Training. It has been an amazing educational experience. It's been helpful to my own Barre practice and a massive aid in my goal to eventually teach. It was comprehensive and accessible with supportive mentoring.
