It has decent equipment but is utterly disgusting and unpleasant. The gym has a noticeable odor from BO and bathroom waste. Locker rooms are gross. I often see bugs crawling around the gym. In the winter, I can see my breath. It doesn't seem like they have heat, besides a few construction site space heaters just sitting on the floor. How unprofessional. The AC is also pretty miserable in the summer.

Money doesn't seem to be going anywhere useful. Instead, the owner has been installing snack machines and some bizarre looking garden fixture out front.

Nasty smells, gross equipment, really harsh overhead lights. Most everything here is jury rigged if it breaks. Construction materials left laying around. It's clear the owner is cheap and puts in the bare minimum effort to make a pleasant gym. Nasty place. They need to move locations or do serious, actual renovations. Do not come here

EDIT: Thanks for the detailed response. Two big points about bugs and nasty smells were ignored. You can purchase as many plants, jungle gyms, and machines as you want, but if the gym experience itself is unpleasant, I have a hard time continuing the subscription. I'm sure others feel the same way. I know people from York who will only go to the Portsmouth location. As for climate control, you can't justify a freezing gym or lack of AC by blaming the landlord. It needs to work properly. I am in no way looking for a "luxury gym" or "flashy appearances."

For the monthly price, it gets the job done.

I do wish they put more attention into the space and made it comparable to the Portsmouth location (in terms of cleanliness, quality and variety of equipment and the locker rooms/showers). Could use another cable machine! Please please please!

Member by default as there are no other options in town. The entire gym smells like urine, always hot, dirty and usually crowded. Teens letting each other in on one key card. Weights left all over the place. Not good.

This is the only gym I could find while I'm here in York temporarily but they charge ridiculous joining fees of $120 which is putting me off. I tried calling and asking if something could be arranged considering that I'm only going to be here for a few months and would still like to use and support their facilities but they were short and offered no solutions or help.

I love this place 24 hours 7 days a week 365 days a year that's a beautiful thing when you're a small business owner and mother and wife to be able to go to the gym when you actually have the time and to know it'll be open is a beautiful thing! It's there when you need to go to your happy place. Also the vanguard in York Maine has a drink vending machine. Has had it or maybe 5 months now I think.

Great gym. Only problems I've been having with it lately. Is the ceiling tiles hanging. The bathroom looks like it caught fire and moping the machines with nasty water that I recently saw... I'm not saying this place is badm they are on point with everything. Except these 3 things.. I took a pic but it won't let me post it the vent in the men's bathroom looks like it caught fire.

Good place I practice social distancing..they realy need to have bottles of disinfectant they have none..all they have is there regular wipes..not enough...

Average gym. Not cutting edge, older equipment. Not very busy though, which is nice. However, it is tailored to the older generations; it's not really designed for the bodybuilder/powerlifter/athlete.
