I started work out at Alloy in Edgewater July 24. I go twice a week and I enjoy it so much. There are 5 or 6 people in my class with a trainer and everyday is a different workout which keeps it from getting boring. We work hard, help each other and most of all have Fun doing it. I’m 72 years young and getting stronger!

🏋️I’ve trained at many places, but Alloy stands out as something truly special. Mark, my primary trainer, is exceptional—he tailors each workout to my individual abilities, always focused on maximizing results while keeping things fun and upbeat. His energy is contagious! Emily is equally amazing, always checking in, encouraging consistency, and helping us think long-term about our health—from workouts to nutrition. The entire team makes you feel like family. With thoughtful events, celebrations, and a genuine sense of community, Alloy is more than a gym—it’s a place where you grow stronger, inside and out.

I’ve never gotten up before the sun and looked forward to a workout until I joined Alloy South River. I finish every session feeling stronger and more confident. They are not just planning workouts, they are building a community of support in and out of the gym with fun competitions and prizes, recipe sharing, and member events outside of the gym. As someone with chronic back issues, it is a comfort knowing a tough workout is planned and Emily and Cat are right there to make adjustments to my form or modify the exercise to avoid pain or injury while still challenging me to the fullest. I have not yet worked out with the other trainers but have heard all good things from other members. I highly recommend the Alloy South River team!

Cat is great! She really listens to what you feel and what you need. If you need to modify, she quickly comes up with an alternative movement. She’s fun and engaging, too! She even remembers things you told her long ago. This shows that she really cares about her clients which I really appreciate.

Great place! Trainer Cat at Alloy South ariver is wonderful...very nice and gives you a great workout, while being sensitive to giving exercises that are appropriate to each individual. It's lot of fun working in small groups. We can help keep each other on track. In all, I enjoy it a lot. Highly recommended!!

I haven’t quite reached 50 workouts yet, but this is the longest stretch of consistent exercise I’ve ever done. The trainers make it feel safe, fun, and just challenging enough. Mark is terrific and helps keep my spirits up on those days when training feels hard. All the trainers are great, and I enjoy the other participants, too. Thanks, Alloy Team!

I have been looking for the right fit in a gym/trainer for awhile now and I found it at Alloy! I love training with a small group of people who are so nice and supportive and I still get individual training from the instructor. So far I’ve worked with Cat and Emily and they are wonderful.

My experience with Alloy has been amazing! All of the trainers are top notch and do a great job ensuring each exercise is catered to the individual based on ability and skill set. Not only do they understand the correct way to perform each exercise, but they also know what stretches to perform based on an individuals strengths, weaknesses, or pain points. I have personally watched my flexibility improve, my body fat decrease, and my muscle mass increase since having started at Alloy. If you’re on the fence, it’s worth giving them a try! There are no other gyms out there that care this much about their individual clients!

I love the workout format—it’s challenging yet adaptable for any fitness level, so you always feel like you’re making progress. The small group setting (just six people) creates an amazing sense of community and motivation. Scheduling workouts is super easy with the app, making it simple to stay consistent. I have really enjoyed Alloy. The groups are never more than 6 people and the workouts stay interesting with 3 circuits and an optional additional workout at the end of the session. I usually workout with Colin and he is kind, knowledgeable, and adaptable to people’s unique concerns and able to provide modifications. I can feel I’m stronger already.

I absolutely love Alloy’s small group training format and the focus on strength and mobility. The trainers are all wonderful (shout out to Cat, Emily and Mark!) and the other members are really nice, too. I actually look forward to going to my workouts! Alloy has really found a sweet spot with the format of the workouts, the size of the classes, the talent and expertise of the trainers (who are also just fun, upbeat, and super likable people), and the sense of community they’ve fostered among the members. Maybe this style of training studio wouldn’t appeal as much to the 20-something-year old gym goer who wants a lot of HIIT, but as a 40+ gym goer I’m so glad I found Alloy!

Truly enjoy taking Collin’s classes. He’s very knowledgeable, patient and one of the best instructors I’ve trained with.

My experience at Alloy thus far has been excellent! Emily and Mark are extremely personable, interested in you and your progress, and looking to help you find what works best for you. The class sizes are small and allow for more personal instruction and assistance with movements. Thus far, I have lost 10 pounds since starting and feel better than I have in a few years. Highly recommend.

Mark and Emily are the best trainers I have ever had! I basically started at zero after setbacks and surgery, and already see a change. The variety of their using a wide variety activity options, their focus on keeping each person injury free, and the effort in making sure everyone participating knows everyone else is really a terrific experience and I know great results are coming my way over time.

It’s been 1 month of training at Alloy and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve had workouts with all of the coaches - Emily, Mark, and Cat …honestly you can’t go wrong with any of them. Our 6am Tues/Thurs crew is becoming a little community. Emily challenges, encourages, and corrects (when needed) each workout. This is my first experience working out consistently and I love it!

The trainers at Alloy in South River are hands-down the best I’ve worked with. Their instructions are clear, they listen to your needs and structure workouts around what you're looking to improve, and they pay close attention to any aches and pains you may be experiencing (I have lower back issues). The facility is clean and bright. I absolutely recommend Alloy!
