The staff is amazingly friendly and patient and they have a lot of positive energy. Steve in particular is good at finding specific analogies that the students can relate to. I've improved my dancing so much in the short time I've been there. No other studio in the area that I have found offers nearly as many group classes and practice parties as Arthur Murray.

We love the staff and instructors at Arthur Murray, Silver Spring! Everyone is so friendly. The instructors are very skilled and do a great job of customizing our lessons to our abilities and interests. They also have helped us by making videos of parts of our lessons so that we can practice at home. Learning to dance at Arthur Murray, Silver Spring has been lots of fun.

The pandemic has been a challenging time. The staff and instructors have done an amazing job of providing a safe environment...masks, hand sanitizing, socially distancing, limiting the number of people, and cleaning. For those who may prefer them, private and group Zoom lessons are available, too.

I have been attending the Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Silver Spring for 3+ years and am having an amazing experience. The combination of lessons, group classes, and parties is a wonderful way to learn and practice new dance patterns and then enjoy the fruits of your labor. The teachers break information down into manageable bits and then encourage and lead as you grow in your skill. They couldn't be nicer, and the other students are friendly and kind as well. It's a great place to meet new people, learn a valuable skill, and enjoy the pleasure of moving to music. The studio immediately went virtual during the initial stages of the pandemic, so we didn't miss a beat, and they have taken all the necessary steps to safely re-open in careful stages. I came to this studio not knowing anything about how to dance. The staff was warm and encouraging and I have learned from them. At my request, my husband bought me dance lessons as a Christmas present. We enjoyed a series of group and individual lessons from very professional and fun teachers near our home in Silver Spring. I can't think of a better way to exercise, meet people and put joy into my life. Ever since I started at Arthur Murray, my experiences have been positive in every way. My wife and I absolutely love this place. We took dance lessons long ago before we got married, and then after moving to Takoma Park we found this studio. Taylor and Sydney are both incredible instructors, and generally rotate who is teaching us week to week. It's certainly not the cheapest thing to buy, but if you go at least one of the many group dance lessons and practice sessions to go along with your weekly private lessons their is a ton of value. Always makes for a great friday night for my wife and I. Cannot recommend taking lessons here enough.

Purchased a Groupon two years ago to try dancing and immediately became hooked. Instruction consists of private lessons, group lessons and practice parties to put the steps you learn to use in a social setting. You can choose from variety of dances, including smooth (waltz, foxtrot, tango, etc.), rhythm (Latin and swing styles), and even country or other specialty dances. Each instructor is trained to teach students using a layered approach starting with basic steps that evolve as the student masters each step or pattern. I am enjoying learning how to dance from talented instructors and have taken lessons from several of the instructors, but primarily work with two—Omar and Alison. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

I found a Groupon for Arthur Murray and it was an awesome deal! My (now) husband and I took a couple of private dance lessons a week out from our wedding. I've been dancing at Arthur Murray Silver Spring (AMSS) for a little over a year. I'm learning a lot and having a wonderful time. The staff is exceptionally attentive and welcoming. The instructors are excellent; each brings their own personal flair for teaching and dance. It's evident that the entire staff at AMSS cares about their students and works hard to create the best learning environment possible. I never expected to enjoy dance as much as I do or to find a place as committed to my growth as I have at AMSS. My fiancé and I started dancing here in January after his parents gifted us dancing lessons or cooking lessons for Christmas. We chose dancing because we figured not only was it something we always wanted to do, but it would bring us closer together during the week doing an activity other than sitting on the sofa watching tv. These lessons are great! We look forward to going to dance classes on Tuesday's and Thursday's (the nights that work with our schedules) and our private lessons with Omar (who we love!).
