About the Club

Our focus is strength and conditioning.

We’re not a weight loss gym.

We believe that what your body can do is more important than how much your body weighs.

Progress here is measured by performance. Being better than you were yesterday is the goal: stronger, better conditioned, and more flexible.

Here you will never be judged by how you look, how you eat, how much you weigh or what you do in your spare time. The only thing that matters is that you show up and give your best effort.

Our trainers are not cheerleaders; they are instructors.

We don’t do bootcamps; we do functional exercises in a progressive manner.

Our workouts are not random; they are part of a program and follow a set of principles.

Move well and move often.

All I can say is Dan makes me work hard, I sweat more than if I was lifting on my own, I’ve definitely gotten stronger, and the with full body metabolic workout I feel great. Good people, family atmosphere, not intimidating at all.

Spartan vibes, yet not intimidating at all, with the sole focus of bettering the body and mind. Clean, well organized, well ventilated and members are very diverse yet all very humble, positive and most importantly mature and respectful. I enjoy the mini anatomy lessons during mobility class.

I have been training with Dan for over 3 years and I have always found the gym to be well maintained and welcoming to all. I am constantly impressed by the physical strength and knowledge about my body that I have gained while working out at Baltimore Kettlebell Club. The gym feels inviting to me as a gay man in my 40s , but also hosts great programs for children and adults over age 60.

For the past two years I’ve trained and coached at BKC and in my 30+ years of strength training and gym culture, I can confidently say this is the best gym culture I’ve experienced. People from all starting points and all walks of life come together for a common goal, to get stronger! I’ve been coaching at BKC for over a year and now have my children participating, they love it as well. I’m very selective of the places and people me and my family spend time with, and the main reason I enjoy spending time at BKC is Dan and his family. A positive role model of integrity, strength, fun, and respect, Dan leads from the front at BKC. I’d recommend to anyone who is curious, come by and check it out!

Hands down the best kid and teen program!! We tried all types of sports that our son never could keep an interest in. BKC has kept him motivated to stick it out. Our son has been a member for years now and loves it. The club is filled with encouragement, motivation, and genuine care for your mental and physical health. πŸ™Œ

I work regularly with Ben Curtis. Coach Ben is a good listener. When my knees needed extra care, Coach Ben added physical therapy type exercises. When my hand needed extra attention, he was able to work with my limitations. He explores what I can accomplish in a work out but never pushes beyond my limits. He is especially good at checking form so I don’t hurt myself. I have been coming to the Baltimore Kettlebell Club for personal training since May 2023.

I cannot say enough about the "Strength After Sixty Program." This twice-a-week fantastic research program in conjunction with Towson State Dept of Kinesiology puts new meaning and a special kind of appreciation for planning to be at your best as you age. I am seven months into the program and thrilled with how much stronger and resilient I feel. My original intent was to improve my bone health which had not improved with extensive walking. Now, I not only feel stronger and more resilient but my friends tell me they see a difference. Periodic Dexa scans inherent in the program show objective improvement in my bone density.
The dedicated staff with Director Dan who has over 20 years experience working with "over sixties" provide the professional sessions in a well-equipped, comfortable Gym. At the forefront of Jessica's Classes are safety, personal attention, recovery and progress. The class participants are a diverse group who enjoy leisure but have included a dedication to planning & preserving their strength and resilience for continuing health in even later years. All of us are continuously lauded and encouraged, safe and inspired! I encourage anyone interested to inquire about auditing a class to see how much fun we have staying healthy.

BKC is a very welcoming gym. The classes are fun and challenging. Dan is very good at explaining and modeling the exercises. I had never used kettle bells before my first class at BKC, but I was able to join in easily. There is a wide range of ages and fitness levels in each class. The people are friendly. Everyone encourages everyone else. This is a great gym for anyone who wants to get stronger.

The Baltimore Kettlebell Club is more than just a gym. They have classes for all levels, and all ages, from kids to seniors. Rather than leaving you feeling helpless, their class instructors treats everyone as individuals, with individual goals! 5 Stars all day!

Just visited, but it looks like a very good setup if you're looking for strongman training.

In my case, not applicable. Perhaps in a few years after I get a transplant and recover from it.

Dan, Tom, and all the instructors at BKC are amazing. I love the family atmosphere and being able to get to know the people I’m working out alongside. Motivation doesn’t just come from the instructor your working with, but everyone else in the room with you. I started out going just to try a different type of workout and it has stuck! Love all these wonderful people!

I've been working with Tom Bruns as my online coach for almost a year now and can't recommend him enough. He's intelligent, perceptive, insightful, and plain easy to work with. I've hit some PR's that I set for myself when I first started training and I couldn't have done it without his help. He has a versatile skill set and has helped me in strength, conditioning, mobility, and even programming for assisting with outside sports. On top of all that, he's a licensed PT and will help you work around any past or present injuries. He's the man, hit him up.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about BKC. The people, the equipment, the environment, all stellar. Recently I have been working more with Tom Bruns and he is an amazing coach. Funny, and supportive I don’t have to think about the weight on the bar, I focus on form and trust his belief in my strength. He is a skilled coach and trainer and takes time to focus on what I need to be a better lifter. Every time I’m at BKC or working with Tom I walk away feeling like I learned something new about myself and what I can do!!

Kudos to Tom Bruns, a recent addition to the Baltimore Kettlebell Club teaching staff! I can't say enough about how great a teacher he is! Not only does he have the knowledge (a trained physical therapist and Maryland's Strongest Man winner) needed to teach people how to build strength and stay safe while doing it, but his teaching ability (with people of all ages, body types, and confidence levels) is truly first class! Plus, he is a very nice person and a lot of fun to work with. I highly recommend him!!

I, and a few member of my gym go to Baltimore Kettlebell Club about twice a year to compete at the Tactical Strength Challenge. Dan is super professional and his gym is very welcoming. I would definitely recommend Baltimore Kettlebell Club to anyone nearby.

If you want to be stronger, go to the BKC. Dan is a consummate professional. He walks the walk.

Training for all ages. I felt immediately welcome. It's an accepting community of people who don't particpate in exercise/training fads. A fun gym for people who want to work hard and support each other.

Art and Strength is one of the most supportive gym environments I've ever been in. The owner, Dan, is a fantastic trainer, teacher, and motivator. His Kettlebell and Strongman classes are great for anyone, especially those looking to lose weight, run faster, and lift heavier.

This is a friendly gym with a non-intimidating, family-like atmosphere. Classes are fun but challenging. Dan is an energetic and dynamic strength coach that is passionate about sharing his love of strength training with everyone regardless of age, shape, size and skill level. The small class sizes allow for close individual attention and focus on safety and proper form. He fosters a welcoming and supportive environment that makes strength-training fun for everyone!

As a personal fitness trainer, I wanted to learn the basics of kettlebell training to incorporate into my clients' workouts. By chance, I found Dan Cenidoza at Art and Strength and some masterful instruction. My few sessions to get the basics has become a five year experience. Not only have I learned a great deal, but my regular kettlebell training has taken my fitness to a new level. Great gym! Excellent instruction! Check it out!
