Of all the yoga studios I've been to, this one really has an incredible community feel to it. The owner is deeply dedicated to all layers of what yoga is, and it shines through in the space, the people, everything. Definitely recommended.

BYV was the first studio that emphasized proper alignment and it was a game changer for my practice. I trusted the teaching of this studio so much that I decided to pursue my 200HR YTT certification with them. I am very grateful to have found a yoga studio that is truly invested in their students.

I love this studio! It has so much history & charm in this old mill center. The living wall is very unique and adds a nature feel to this urban studio. It offers a wide variety of diverse classes and talented teachers for students of all ages- prenatal-chair yoga. I especially love the Sunday Therapeutic Yoga class (my version of church!) for reseting my nervous system, challenging my body, quieting my mind, and renewing my spirit.

There are those places in your life that come to feel like a second home and Baltimore Yoga Village is certainly one of them. Having gone there for years, it wasn't until I tried a few other yoga studios that I began to understand how special BYV truly is; as it has gotten easier and easier to find yoga classes, it seems to be harder and harder to find places that transmit the essence of what yoga is all about and that seek to connect students to their own inner wisdom, lineages of tradition, and deeper universal truths. Whether it is a gentle restorative class, a dynamic workshop, or a series focused on the breath, BYV offers nourishment and strengthening for mind, body, and spirit. I also feel so good knowing that at it's core, BYV;s mission is to bring yoga to everyone and to be a positive, sustaining presence in the community. I can't say enough good things about it!

I've gotten the chance to practice at various studios across the city but this one is home. I've had the opportunity to practice and be guided by some of the best instructors and always walk in to an inviting and warm atmosphere.

Maura's aerial yoga workshop was beyond. If you're ready to welcome your own embodiment, and have been trying various things and getting a little further, and then a little further - bring your beautiful self to the aerial intro and catalyze the evolution you have been excavating for all this time. Unveil a body of joy and receptivity. Experience the inner stillness that is your birthright. Reside in your native warm heart. If you didn't know whether you had it in you - you do, and this class will show you if you're open to it. Let your concepts collapse and drop into bliss.

Lovely spaces, especially the Hampden location, and generally very good instructors. Far and away my favorite class/teacher is Elizabeth Tunkle's community yoga on Tuesday nights. The time is really too late for me but I usually drag myself out of the house anyway because the experience is truly unmatched.

I had a very positive experience at the Baltimore Yoga Village. The receptionist was welcoming and informative. I attended Brianna Bedigian and Kristen Ostling's Cello and Heart Chakra two hour workshop. Brianna led the large group (almost 30 people) in singing, dancing, sharing light, and exploring our individual concept of self-worth. She was able to bring strangers together in a personal way that was meaningful on many levels. We stretched our bodies as she explained the specific benefits of relaxing ourselves physically and gaining control mentally. All the while the vibrations of Kristen's cello aided in the healing process. I highly recommend this experience. -Julie Bannon

Whether trying regularly scheduled classes at the Hampden and Falls Road studios or attending the beautiful Cello and Heart Chakra workshop which has been offered twice at the Falls Road location, I always enjoy my practice at Baltimore Yoga Village. The teachers and workshop instructors are top notch and they give students a safe space in which to enjoy the many aspects of a healthy yoga practice. Had a lovely time at Brianna and Kristin's event last weekend and am looking forward to trying a class with Maura this Friday afternoon.

After a grueling nearly 5 hour drive (just from Richmond to Baltimore), I was happy to have made it to the workshop at all.
The receptionist read my stressed out mood and kindly gave instruction on how to join in ... but the instructor made that impossible.
She actually stopped her class and announced loudly "you do know that you are 40 minutes late" then insisted that two others make space for me rather than letting me retreat to the back of class.
Her disdain was palpable and many in the class followed suit as I got several wonderful looks of anger throughout remainder of the workshop.
Negativity and judgement are usually not part of yoga practice ... but I guess that's how it us done at baltimore yoga village.
