I absolutely love Barre3, Juliana & the entire team at Barre3 Bethesda. Their classes are for absolutely everyone at every level of their fitness journey, injury recovery or wherever you may be. I’m super lucky to have friends that also go to barre3 and it is so much fun with friends, but I have also found it’s an environment that I am totally comfortable in alone which is amazing. I also have found that my body craves the movement and it feels so good. I cannot recommend Barre3 Bethesda more!

Love, love, love the classes at barre3. I've taken a few classes with different instructors and have enjoyed them all. Lots of great movements, strength building, and breathing into my body, which is so needed after the work day.

Barre3 has been a terrific add to my workout. I especially like that the workouts incorporate cardio and weights with small muscle groups targeted. I’ve been going twice a week for a month now and I can can see its positive affect on my sleep and other workouts.

If I could put 10 stars I would. This is the perfect exercise for me — enjoyable, challenging but not overwhelmingly so, builds strength and improves muscle definition, helps me maintain balance, demands coordination which helps keep my older brain healthy, and ends with a delicious cold scented towel and meditation. The community, instructors and staff are non-judgmental, warm and welcoming. And they have a sense of humor. I’ll be moving in the next few years and I really am quite serious when I say there must be a Barre3 studio convenient to wherever my husband and I end up.

Update (2025): Juliana and this staff are such an amazing community! For furloughed employees they are doing one week free, just email them! But it’s been fun being back and moving my body during this time when my mental health could use a boost! If you’re ever curious take your one free class and try unlimited. You won’t regret it. Also trust the waitlist!

Update (2022): I’ve been attending since March and have loved it so much! Laura is an instructor who came from the 14th St studio and also has been amazing. I reached my 100th class and feel so strong in my body!
Would totally recommend!

I have never been to a barre studio but have gone to cycle studios and gyms. I signed up for a new client promotion and have loved every single class that I’ve been in. I’ve taken classes with Maria, Kit, Melissa, and Molly. Each instructor had been so personable and kind. I sometimes get nervous about being in a new group class and I’ve always felt welcomed! Each instructor does a great job explaining the poses and modifications, in case you have any injuries. The staff at the desk are always so friendly. I just started barre3 and have already committed to a membership. They are seriously a wonderful studio and I can’t wait to continue my fitness journey with barre3!

I love this barre3 studio, absolutely love! From the friendly girls at the front desk, through every single instructor, and all the way to the owner (who also teaches from time to time). There are modifications in every class to make virtually every exercise more, or less, challenging, depending on your physical wants and needs. There’s core, there’s strength, there’s movement, active stretching and everything in between, which is great, because 360+ classes in, I find something new and challenging every time. For those of us driving in, there’s plenty of street parking in the area, which is free before 9 am (yay for 6:15 and 7:15 morning classes!) and also on Sundays.

I love this studio and have done 5 classes! The location is very convenient, with many parking garages in walking distance. The studio itself was very clean, with bathrooms stocked up. The actual sessions were amazing! I do have a regular gym membership, but this class was much better than those offered at the gym. I enjoyed every moment and can't wait to do my next class!

RYT certified yoga instructor and teacher here with over 500+ hours of practice and wanted to try Barre. The studio is clean but I do not think anything further than the first class free is worth it. The Barre instructors are nice yet I found two at the front desk not helpful whatsoever with the parking situation not good if you are a busy living individual. The exercise itself is mobile with optional weights and fitness balls. Lots of jumping around rather than flows and sequences. Arriving 10 minutes late and the stricter policy than sport saying it's 5 minutes max is chaotic as people were walking in and out of class noisely, still. Not serious. If you find basic movement challenging, then Barre3 may be a good class to take.

I have absolutely loved barre3! After the pandemic and having babies it took me awhile to get back to a studio for in person classes and it has been such a refreshing dose of me time. I’ve attended several Barre3 classes and have enjoyed each one! While some classes emphasize cardio and others are more strength focused, each class has been a fantastic work out. I’ve had several different instructors, all of whom have been friendly and encouraging, proactively suggesting modifications to suit everyone’s fitness level while remaining cognizant of injuries. The studio is clean and provides all the necessary equipment for each class. I especially love ending each class with a brief breathing exercise and cool, aromatic washcloth!

I recently joined Barre3 to get acquainted in the fitness community and to get full body strengthening for my runs (after coming out of an injury), it was one of the best choices I’ve made. The instructors are so kind and motivating to push you through the workouts and they provide great instruction in how to activate certain muscles in movements correctly. They work with individuals at all levels and have alternate ways of completing movements if you have injuries or weakness in certain parts of the body. I feel better after every workout and it helped me mentally with their guided mediation at the end to slow down heart rates and focus on well-being so we can continue to do great things out of the class. I always look forward to the cooling towels at the end with the lavender essential oils as a way to congratulate myself. I also invited a friend who definitely wants to come back so, give Barre3 a try you might like it a lot!

Barre3 is truly an amazing experience! All of the instructors are friendly and challenge you without any judgement, and the workouts are a perfect mixture of difficult and refreshing. Barre3 Bethesda is a spirited, calm workout space for those looking for an artistic expression of energy through fusion workouts.

General info from my experience in a month:
- The class formats are similar in the 45 and 60 minutes classes with differences in the instructor, music and exercise choreography.
- The app is linked to MindBodyOnline.
- The class composition is on average 99% women
- One will need to try out multiple instructors' teaching styles to see what fits their needs.
- Grip socks might be helpful if one finds the mats and floor slippery.
- Better to take an evaluation of personal body limitations before starting Barre3 - that way the individual can take care of their body and find ways to handle intensity of exercises.

Pros of this space
1. Good for those looking for a pumping workout with music and artistic expression
2. Good for those starting to workout, or after a break. I started 8 months after a major accident and it has helped me ease into resuming workout.
3. Instructors are tremendously spirited and motivated. Front-desk staff are helpful.
4. Morning classes have the sunlight streaming in from the street-side and feel invigorating
5. Workout goal/contests and activities(book club, candle-making, candlelit classes etc.) give an extra motivation to keep pushing oneself to be consistent in exercising
6. 2 spacious restrooms with face towels and emergency toiletries.

On the overall, I have had a wonderful month of exercising at Barre3 Bethesda!

Went to my first class at Barre3 and wasn't sure what to expect since I'd never done barre before. I haven't had that much fun working out in a while. I've been to more classes since then and will definitely continue to go to more. Big thanks to Michelle and Melissa for making me feel welcome and making class fun!

Try barre3! All you have to do is show up for class! The props are already at the studio, so you don't need to buy extra material. Instructors and staff members are super friendly and always willing to answer questions and provide extra guidance.

The studio is very clean.

I took the unlimited-class 2-week package and it helped me to figure out how many sessions work for me according to my availability and commitment.

At barre3, i really feel like I am enjoying my self-care time!

I took 5 classes as a new client, and it was my first barre type workout experience. Barre3 Bethesda is a really welcoming place, the instructors were very helpful, including for new people, and everyone always offered modifications or alternatives. The studio is clean and well organized, and I like the way Barre3 is trying to create community. I'm used to doing more traditional yoga and pilates, but I really enjoyed the change of pace at Barre3 - definitely a different "vibe" but you leave feeling energized and positive, and exhausted!

Barre3 is the best barre class in my area (Germantown, MD / DMV)!

The first time I did barre was back in LA, maybe in 2015 (can't remember exactly but it's been a while and I stopped during covid). I've been wanting to get back to an in-person class and have been googling to see what's near, I've tried all the other ones out there such as The Barre Method, Pure Barre, etc and I just don't enjoy it at all and find it boring.

When I stumbled across Barre3's website I was excited because it looked very similar to the Barre classes I did in LA and the best part is they let you try before you buy (Free 1st class for new customers!)

After attending my first free class, I loved it! Reminded me of the barre class back in LA which I was obsessed about. I didn't feel bored at all and was sad the 45 min was over.

The studio is super cute and modern, very clean, the staffs are friendly, the bathroom is nice with thoughtful items women's essential items (hair ties, lotion, tampons, etc!) and for the moms who have kids, they even have a little daycare area where you can drop them off for playtime while you work out!

Barre3 isn't just a barre studio, it's like a workout community, they sometimes have challenges/contests, pop-up events, candle making classes.

I loved my experience and eventually got myself a bundle of classes! The only thing I wish is if they could open up more studios closer to me, even though 25 min is doable but if it was closer I'd go even more! :D

**Would I recommend and come back? Obviously, YES!

Pros: A well-balanced workout that includes cardio, leg/arm/abdominal toning and stretching; instructors that fully participate in the entire workout which helps semi-newbies like me learn the routine and follow the sequences; an immaculate studio and bathrooms with toiletries to freshen up after class; nearby metered and public parking options

Cons: First, there are not classes that start later than 5:45 p.m. on two of the five weeknights which makes if difficult for some students to enjoy an evening workout. Second, their pricing is higher than its competitor barre studios.

As an older athlete who is continuing to train and being professionally coached , I am always searching for a great workout to keep me motivated . I was invited to thus gym virtually while being snowed in here on the east coast. Am I glad I did! It was fun and challenging and I will definitely be adding these classes to my training program!

I have tried different "barre" classes and really love what barre3 brings in terms of the quality of work out and the unique-ness of each class and instructor. Due to some injuries, I have a few modifications to make, and the instructors are always offering modifications for each pose and movement. Other barre classes seem more formulaic and you are on your own if you have to modify something. I find barre3 to be a more welcoming environment for people with different strengths/weaknesses/differences.

Barre3 Bethesda is a great studio with first rate instructors. I've only taken outdoor classes, so I haven't been to the studio yet, but I have to commend them for incredible outdoor classes, even in the chill of January! Helga, the outdoor instructor, designs classes that keep us moving and warm. She also fosters a nice community spirit and makes me look forward to outdoor winter workouts. Plus the work outs are challenging and make me stronger! I really appreciate that they are still doing outdoor for folks like me who are more COVID-conscious and don't want to work out indoors.

Barre3Bethesda is a great addition to the Woodmont Triangle. I joined over 2 years ago under the leadership of Meredith who got me hooked through a ton of free community classes before the studio opened. The studio is clean and offers hair ties, dry shampoo, etc in the bathrooms. Current owner Juliana takes pride in her studio and you can tell she pours her heart into every class and event. The staff are fantastic and welcoming. They really care about their clients and ensuring we are doing the moves correctly so we do not injure ourselves. Shout out to Kate for always going above and beyond to make me feel special. The front desk ladies are also amazing - thank you Sam & Reilly! barre3 Bethesda is so much more than a fitness studio - it is a community. Its where you go to challenge more than your body, and be supported with so much positive energy and wisdom. I've never found a fitness studio or regimen that encourages individuality as much as barre3 - its kept me coming back, with the self-esteem to know its okay not to succumb to the pressure of "keeping up" with anyone else's pace than my own. barre3's mentality and support has kept me injury-free for years.

The studio is always clean its great that you never need to bring any of your own equipment - just a water bottle. All props are thoroughly cleaned after each class by the staff. The staff are so welcoming and helpful, and instructors are always willing to help answer questions before and after class.

This is the most thoughtful, heartfelt, supportive and positive studio. I've been a member at numerous gyms and boutique studios in the area and this group of teachers are by far the most talented and helpful. The studio owner, Juliana, could not be more inspiring and genuine. The B3 workout is empowering, challenging and most importantly it's sustainable. The mix of cardio, strength building, yoga moves and breath work is truly unique and so fun. I love that each class incorporates something new along with familiar moves to keep it fresh and interesting. The physical and mental benefits of this workout are immediate, it's like a blast of positivity and endorphins every class!
