I am so happy with the progress my daughter has made. Our child started out needing a life vest to enter the water. Now in 5 months of weekly lessons, she is entering Bold 2 and will be learning strokes.

UPDATE: We’ve been at Big Blue for about 1 year now. It’s amazing to watch my son (now 5 years old) go from zero swim skills to swimming better than me! He can even jump in the deep end of a recreational pool and swim back to the edge without assistance now (with us watching, of course). He’s made incredible progress in a year of lessons.The coaches all work really hard to make it a great experience for the kids, and we continue to love our time at Big Blue.

ORIGINAL: Very impressed so far! My 4 year old son had zero swim or water survival skills before Big Blue. In just 4-5 classes, I’m shocked how much he’s learned and how quickly he’s progressing. We absolutely love Coach Nova, who is so patient, attentive, and engaging with the kids. In fact, all of the staff and coaches are all wonderful. Everyone is so friendly and they really try to make it a fun experience for the kids! Communication has also been excellent as well when there was a class schedule mix-up. Highly recommend!

I continue to be so impressed! My son has made amazing progress in such a short time. He catches on quickly and is really enjoying himself. We've been with this swim school for over 17 classes now, and unfortunately, our experience has been quite disappointing. Despite the number of sessions, we haven’t seen any meaningful progress in our child’s swimming skills. One of the major concerns is the constant change in instructors—almost every few classes, there’s a new instructor who starts again from the basics. This lack of consistency has really set back any progress and left our child confused and unmotivated.

We were told our child is in Level 2, but even within that, there seems to be no differentiation between beginners and kids who are more advanced. During makeup sessions, our child is often grouped with students from different skill levels, making it difficult to receive instruction that’s tailored to their needs. It feels like they are simply being kept at the same level for an extended time, and I can’t help but feel that this might be intentional to prolong the number of classes.

Additionally, the pool setup is quite limiting. The lanes are laid out across the width (about 20 feet), not the full length of the pool. This makes it difficult for kids—especially those who are actually progressing—to swim longer distances or build endurance.

We were really hoping for a more structured and goal-oriented learning experience, but sadly, that hasn’t been the case so far. I truly hope the school takes this feedback constructively and works toward a more consistent and transparent program for the benefit of all students.

My son has attending for about two months now and really enjoys it. Its a very bright, clean and welcoming environment. The staff are all friendly, especially Coach Nova who works with my son. My son wasn't too apprehensive about the pool in th beginning but he did end up getting an ear infection (swimmers ear) and missed a few classes and was a bit scared of going in the water when we returned. However, within his first two classes back, with the encouragement of Coach Nova, he once again enjoys the pool and always hates leaving. Nova is great with the kids, very encouraging, patient and engaging. He even gave me tips on how to help with swimmers ear in the future. This was our first lesson and it was a trial. My daughter is 5 1/2 and recently showed interest in swimming. We were greeted as we walked in and helped right away. JJ, the instructor was magical. I enrolled my 8 yr old daughter for the weekly swim classes and the Super Improver Clinic. It was the best decision I have made for her. Big Blue has brought so much joy to our family! Our daughter came to Big Blue with a lot of anxiety about swimming and swimming lessons. The swimming school is very nice, clean, and organized. I like the way they care for the children and teach them properly. If you end up with an instructor that's too lenient, or not progress driven, it could really end up wasting your time and money, but that's with any swim school. I like this school, but I don't appreciate the business practices behind the scenes. I was double charged earlier this year when my child first started, and was told by front desk personnel that a credit would be applied to my account the following month instead of another charge. I've been charged, and given excuses every month since then. Every time I inquire about my credit, they give more excuses about how this impacted several people's accounts and they're looking into it, and blah blah blah. It's been months now. I withdrew my child in May, but they still charged me for June, even though they owe me a credit. My advice, handle the administrative part of the business with the same level of care as the operations and don't give customers the run around when you owe them money. If I owed you all, it would be a different story.

I recently re-enrolled my son for swimming lessons. Due to an oversight, he was placed in the wrong swim class based on his current age. Aniyah was very friendly when she explained what had happened and was efficient in updating my son’s class dates/times. I was told that they were short in staff today. It was our very first visit so we didn't have anyone to ask what the procedures were. It made her loose time in the pool for her lesson since the instructor wasn't able to leave the pool area. I understand things happen but it unfortunate that it was the day we weren't instructed prior to the class. I think that if you send the instructions with the registration that would help everyone be on time in the pool and ready. The swimming instructor seems nice and patient. Would have like to met her prior to class in order to identity ourselves and introduce each other in order to have Ulyanna feel calm and comfortable with the teacher.

Update: After almost a year of lessons I can say that we still love Big Blue. I think it's helpful to see which teacher's personality fits best with your child. They make it very easy to switch classes and teachers. It was a bit inconsistent in the beginning regarding who would be the teacher each week (especially in the Bright Blue levels) but then became more stable half a year in. My son's favorites are Elle (for Bright Blue) and Angel (for Bold Blue). I really appreciate Mr. Angel's approach because he keeps my young son's attention and is strict on safety but does it with warmth. My son has a blast and has become so much more confident.

My son already learned so much in 3 lessons and feels more confident in the water. I like how they track progress and quickly got him into the right class (bright blue 2 vs 1). The teachers are great with young kids and they are very accommodating. I couldn't even get my son to try the other big two chains in the area because they were very strict on not letting parents sit on the deck of the pool. Big Blue is very reasonable and just asks parents to move from the bench when the next kids come in. My son loves the lessons and we'll definitely keep coming!

If I could I would gove this a zero star. My girls started with BBS school approx 3 months ago. The first few sessions were great. When they were promoted to level 1 and 2, it's has been a scheduling nightmare. First we were asked to bring the girls at 1 30pm and 2pm. When we would take the girls at their respective times, they wouldnt have the space and we had to wait for 30 mins for the next session which meant my older daughter often had to be kids in lower level. Consistency is another challenge. Since they were promoted to next level, my younger daughter never had the same teacher which made her feel anxious and caused her to not wanting to swim.
Some of our acquaintances also bring their kids to this school and having same issues.

What a wonderful team working at this location! From Nick booking our first trial, to the GM Kaleb who took the time to evaluate and explain everything, the assistants, I knew my daughter was in good hands, I signed up right away! Wonderful location!

We have had great instructors with David, JJ, and Nicholas for our water hesitant kiddo. They are very patient and works with thier comfort zone to bring up thier confidence in the water and to be more comfortable! So glad to have found a sin school that is supportive and has smaller classes!

Recently, I went to my friend's class to observe her son's swimming lesson. I was not expecting a serious incident to unfold. For a brief moment, a child was left unsupervised, leading to the child submerging and struggling to return to the surface. Fortunately, the child appeared fine after being rescued and attended to. This situation is unacceptable; every child should be closely monitored. I was stunned by what happened, and if you choose to attend these classes, be aware that there might be instances of neglect.
