The breadth of classes is truly amazing. If you go to one class and it's not for you -- try another one out. Each instructor has their own spin on the classes as well, which keeps things fresh and fun.

Once you find a class type you love, it's easy to wish they held it more often (please bring back the noon Friday Vinyasa!!! haha). Some classes are only held a few times a week. But that's the tradeoff for the incredible variety and I think it still works very nicely.

Very very welcoming environment for beginners

Dr. O’s Hot Pilates class was a high-intensity, energy-packed workout that pushed me to my limits in the best way. His motivation and enthusiasm kept the entire room engaged from start to finish. What stood out most was his personal touch — at the end of class, he thanked each student by name for showing up and giving their all. That level of attention and appreciation made the experience truly memorable. Highly recommend his class if you’re looking for a powerful and uplifting workout!

I’ve been coming to Bikram Yoga Works - Riverdale location for about a month -- while my home studio in Baltimore is being renovated/relocated-- and I’m really loving it here. The teachers are fantastic—super knowledgeable, friendly, and they make every class both fun and challenging.

The class schedule is great, with options early morning, mid-morning, and evening, so it’s easy to fit yoga, mat Pilates or a HITT class in no matter how busy your day is. The heated classes are intense in the best way—whether it’s classic Bikram, mat Pilates or the HIIT-style sessions.

The community here is also really welcoming and down-to-earth. It feels great to be surrounded by people who genuinely support each other. This studio is for EVERY"body" and EVERY fitness level !

All in all, it’s an awesome spot to get a tough workout, deepen your practice, change your body and meet some great people. Highly recommend!

Nice space, you don't have to have your own mat or blocks. Good vibes from the class ( from both the instructor and the other participants) I took with Raven for stretching.

Ooof. What should have been a fun experience has turned into an absolute nightmare. The studio is nice, the teachers are fine, but the administration is absolutely horrible and should not be trusted with anyone's credit card information. I saw the sign outside for the $10 intro class while driving by and decided to try it. At the front desk, I told them I'd like to try the $10 intro class, and they said ok, took my card, and had me sign in on the daily sign-in sheet. They did not verbally tell me this would be a recurring fee (or explanation), and I did not get a receipt or sign anything. I went to the class and then about 40 days later started getting $150/month charges. I have two toddlers and some unexpected bills, so I didn't notice this for 4 months. So I call the studio and leave messages, and I also use their text app. Nothing. I don't want to give a terrible review to a local business, but I thought maybe that would finally get their attention. I posted my review, called back, and they answered on the second ring. The person on the phone apologized (although not completely sincerely) and asked me to remove my review, and she would refund me the 4 months I was charged, and said that she'd make sure staff are better trained and more responsive to customers' calls. Ok fair. So I take down my review--because I don't want to hurt a local business, and they fixed the problem. Well, they never took me off whatever subscription list they have me on, and I've been charged another 3 months. I still couldn't get through to them on the phone or via their website, so this time I've disputed it with my bank, and it's taking forever to resolve. I'm back to posting this review because it's true. Bikram Yoga Works does not have the business acumen or organizational skills to handle people's credit card information and membership status. What was supposed to be a wellness class has turned into a financial nightmare that has lasted 7-8 months. They had so many opportunities to avoid this (better new customer orientation/paperwork/correctly handling the mistake the first time), but they've fallen short and look disorganized and greedy.

This is the best wellness place in the DMV! I just learned that BYW/Dript now offers non-heated classes. So, there's something for everyone if you're trying to live a life with better health outcomes and wellness, this is the spot. Today is my 10-year yogaversary. I was excited and left fulfilled to have taken Bikram yoga at BYW where my health journey has gone to a levels I can't believe. Namaste.

I received a B12 shot and a hydrogen therapy breathing treatment today and it was excellent. I feel like a new person with mental clarity and energy. I will book again.

This studio is lovely, there's 4 areas. A hot yoga studio, a lounge, plus another yoga studio, and IV Therapy and Wellness room. B12 shots and various recovery, energy, weight loss and vitamin drips are available and administered by a RN. IV Therapy can be customized to suit your needs.

Love Bikram Yoga Works in Riverdale. All the classes and instructors are top notch. Be warned - the hot room is HOT and the workouts are intense. Also tried the cryo therapy. Soothed my lower back and shoulder pain (caused by old injuries and working at a computer). Looking forward to seeing how 3 minutes in the super cold helps with my overall health and pain management.

This review is long overdue. I have been taking classes at Bikram Yoga Works for since December 2024. I started out buying a 5 pack of classes, was hooked so I bought a 40 pack of classes, and finished those soon after that I went ahead with a membership. Best decision ever.

There is such a variety of classes that I always have choices in what I want to take -- whether I am in need of a hot pilates class, a full mobility class with FLEX'T, or my favorite full body workout -- DRIP'T. The community that is created amongst other members and with the instructors is what makes this studio so special. Everyone is so supportive and motivating. There are classes that I genuinely look forward to taking every week.

Cristina's energy and ability to make me push my body to the limits make me want to work out at 6am in the middle of the week and 10am on a Saturday! Colin pushes us to our limits in DRIP'T Heavy and has helped me become stronger each week. Scarlet models perfect form and pushes us towards an incredible workout, Dr. O helps me strengthen my core while offering amazing words of encouragement, and Brian drives us hard while making us laugh. There are so many I missed and I could go on and on about every single instructor because they are all so talented and meant to teach! (And this is all coming from a fellow educator!)

I also need to shout out the newest service I experienced this past weekend at the studio: Stretch Therapy. HANDS DOWN the best stretch of my life. Colin has the ability to destroy us in a DRIP'T Heavy class, while also providing the most thorough and focused stretch. He was very in tune with my body and was able to support me through some of the deepest stretches I have ever experienced. Colin, you are a beast!!!

All in all-- amazing classes, amazing sweat sessions, amazing instructors. Ten out of ten.

I attended classes years ago and found Bikram Yoga Works completely unethical. I purchased a livingsocial deal that expired in a month. I took a classes for a short while and was informed that BYW was doing some remodeling and is closing temporarily, obviously I was unable to attend classes during the renovations. My livingsocial purchase expired when the studio reopened. I asked management to extend the my access *only for the number of days they were closed.* BYW flat out denied a reasonable request, when it was their fault the studio was closed and I could not attend classes.

I have been driving all the way down to Tyson’s to attend a 90 minute 26&2, and the commute is just too much with 495 traffic. I thought to check out BYW again, and saw they still charge a $49 initiation fee. I have practiced yoga for over 30 years, all over America and I have literally *never* seen another studio charge an initiation fee. BYW is also about $70 higher/month than other studios offering unlimited in person classes. A business can charge whatever they want, but $70 higher a month is hard for a customer to swallow, in addition to their $49 initiation fee.

At the end of the day, my experience with BYW was just another business that puts profits over people.

Every experience I have had here has been amazing. I especially like doing Vinyasa classes with Kim and Raven. They are great instructors and give great verbal cues, especially for beginners. Also, University of Maryland, College Park students receive a discount! I have loved my yoga journey here at Bikram Yoga Works Riverdale, and I can’t wait to restart classes in their Baltimore location once I move to Baltimore. The facilities are super clean and nice, and all the staff members are very friendly and are willing to help out or chat. I also like doing the Bikram classes, although they are harder and not for beginners. Throughout my time here, I have learned a lot about peace and balance, and can’t wait to continue my yoga journey!

Scarlett's DripT class is amazing! Her energy is so high; it's motivating and gets everyone into the workout. I also appreciate how she always checks our form to make sure we're properly engaging in the moves and getting the most out of the class. I recently tried the fascia stretch therapy (FST) and am amazed at the results. I broke my leg when I was a teenager, which created a misalignment in my back and legs that has pained me off and on decades.
Recently I was seeing a chiropractor for the issue and while I'd feel better for a short time after an adjustment, the pain and discomfort would return in short order.
Diane is excellent! After just one session, not only was the pain gone, but I felt better aligned and the relief lasted for weeks. To me, a chiropractic visit seemed to treat the symptoms while the FST addressed the cause.
Fascia stretch is a wonderful therapy whether you have a nagging injury or not. The increase you'll feel in overall mobility is a stress relief that is hard to put into words. After just one session I'm sure you'll see and feel the benefits.

This is my second review. I had given a 4 star review but have lowered to 2 as they charged my credit card $159 (unauthorized) a month later. I understand an error like that but even after multiple calls and promises for refunds I had to file a complaint with my credit card company who eventually refunded the amount to me. They did not receive payment from the yoga studio. Beware.

I’ve been talking classes at BikramYogaWorks for almost ten years. While I was in therapeutic mode during the Sunday Morning FLEXt class at the Riverdale location, I left the class stretched and rejuvenated. One of my favorite classes these days taught by one my favorite instructors. Diane guided without judgment. This morning I got a bonus. I left the class with two fully formed ideas. My mind was as open as my body. Diane’s playlist include La Vie en Rose. A song that was recorded the year I was born. Now a classic covered by artists worldwide.

Love this studio! Teachers are so welcoming and offer modifications, especially for first-timers. Most classes are heated, but they're doing a buildout at Riverdale for a non-heated space coming soon. You can't come in late to the studio, though you could probably be a little late coming to the room once you're inside. This policy makes me feel safe and secure in the space. Mostly due to timing, I've primarily visited Riverdale, but I've also enjoyed my time at Ivy City.

This is the most unprofessional, fraudulent, and scamming wellness business I’ve ever come across in my entire life. They’ve placed an unauthorized auto debit transaction on my card when I’ve never even stepped foot into their business or interacted with them directly.

When I called to let them know — the lady who answered was very defensive and spoke more about my Google review than how to be a reputable business with integrity that resolves errors. She mentioned they wouldn’t be able to reimburse me even though I’ve never been to their studio/logged on to their website prior to the transaction, and had no way of canceling my card on my end. She gave me her word that I would receive a call within 48 hours and have yet to hear from them.

It’s sad that you all have to scam people instead of relying on your business’ performance to bring in profit. I’m grateful it worked out for me with a cancellation of my card and encourage everyone to be cautious with them. I still can’t access their website to cancel my card. Very bizarre way of operating a wellness focused entity — maybe the owner should reconsider their values.

My experience with the Riverdale location has been BEYOND horrible. I booked a cryotherapy session for 2/10, that was confirmed two days before, and when I arrived I was told after being there for a good 15 mins, that there was no nitrogen. I was told that someone should have called me. As I was standing there, I get a call saying that there was nitrogen and I would need to reschedule. I rescheduled for 2/15. On 2/14, the appointment was confirmed and when I show up on 2/15, the woman tells me, “So sorry, there is still no nitrogen.” When I asked why no one called me, her lame excuse was that they have a small staff. Next she admits she was the one who confirmed the appointment with me, but not once did she answer why she didn’t call me back to let me know not to come. I took a 25 min ride each time. She gave so many excuses. She refunded my gift certificate, despite me telling her that I am a traveling nurse and my assignment would be ending that week. I can’t use the gift certificate as I live in a totally different state. Also, a friend and I had left our number on three separate occasions for someone to reach out and schedule a flex massage and not once did anyone call us to schedule. When I reminded her of this, she only gave the same lame excuse about having a small staff. Some individuals just should not be able to run a business. DONT GO THERE! Find a better yoga studio, especially since they have such a small staff.

2/23/2024- Please do not respond like everything was resolved. You called and yes I did answer. I turned down your offer because the only reason you called me was because of my review. You waited several weeks and if you had not seen my review, you would not have tried to reach out and apologize for your disorganization. You do not listen at all. I told you that I was on a travel assignment that ended today, you wanted me to come today to get a service, when I am already packed and ready to go back home. So, my answer was "no" this call should have come the very next day when I was turned away for the second appointment I made, and you confirmed. My review stands PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS.

This company has terrible business ethics.
I was a loyal customer at the Boston location as far back as ~2015 (I saw the studio go through owner changes).

As the pandemic was hitting, I purchased a package of classes to show my support with the expectation I would have the opportunity to use them once the studio reopened.

Instead, the Boston location permanently closed and when I reached out via email I was told to be patient for my refund. Eventually they stopped responding to my emails so I contacted them via phone at another studio location to explain the situation. I was told I should use my passes at one of their other locations (located hundreds of miles away).

I could understand if they went out of business or if they had another location in the same metro area, though found this suggestion to use my passes in another city rude and inappropriate, especially for a long-time client.

There are many other studios in the area that offer better classes for a better price.

This place has good instructors but I must say I was quite frustrated when I drove over half an hour from upper Marlboro to their Riverdale location when I arrived at 6:32 they would not acknowledge me nor let me in the class it was quite rude especially seeing as how I’d visited this facility before and frequently saw people coming in a few minutes after the class start time . I’m not upset that that’s the policy but maybe a visible sign outside the door would be nice so that your customers who are tardy to understand why people are purposely ignoring them and not acknowledging them ring the bell and knowing … at least had I known or saw a sign or known I would’ve opted to not waste over an hour in a half of drive time . Again I do like the instructors and how they teach but better communication amongst potential new members could help with a more friendly Customers service experience.

It also offers several wellness services, regular yoga posture seminars, nutrition sessions, and community gatherings. The yoga practice taught me discipline, determination and endurance while improving my health immensely. Thank you, Bikram Yoga Works!

I brought a group of 10 people here and we were all so so pleased with the hot barre class! The space is clean, our instructor was amazing and checked us in quickly. The music was upbeat and fun to workout to. I’ve been to Pure Barre and the workout is not challenging there. Here it is real value for the price! Everyone from the instructor to the other members were so friendly and welcoming as well, if you are concerned about it being an intimidating workout. I’ve also done CorePower in the past but this was much more engaging and just plain fun. BYW is professional, friendly and a brutal workout for all levels of fitness and all bodies. On top of all of that it’s a black and female owned business. I only wish they had a location in Montgomery County!

I had my first FST session with FST specialist Okera. As a self proclaimed athlete looking for a viable recovery process I was blown away. Okera was skilled, had patience, and took time to educate me on the value of FST as a key part of my recovery process.
I just completed my second session and I'm truly conscious of the unwinding of my tight knots and improved range of motion. Goes without say, FST is now a priority in my recovery. She's ready... Thank You Okera!

Registered and paid for a class however, had to cancel because of a family emergency. They charged me a missed class fee of $30 which is ludacris since I had paid for that spot, essentially charging me twice. What a stupid business practice. Will not be giving my money to them.

One of the saddest parts of relocating across the country has been no longer being able to visit BYW. I discovered BYW during the pandemic and it was so important to helping me deal with all of the new stress and challenges that have come along. This was place was a home away from home that provided a peaceful escape where I could focus on self improvement. Thanks BYW!

I was introduced to Kendra when her team added the Takoma Park studio to their locations. They have provided opportunities to me that included a wide range of classes from Bikram to Hot Pilates, boot camp programs that integrated nutrition...Yin Yoga and FLEX’T and DRIP’T. You can’t find the variety anywhere else. The teachers are well trained, the studios are clean and welcome EVERYONE!
Kendra pivoted to online this spring to support her members during the pandemic. We were practicing at home with guest teachers from all over the world. Having that kind of access is priceless. She never misses a beat. Outstanding business owner because she is living her vision and believes in all of us!

Thank You BYW and now DRIP’T for your vision and the faith to keep evolving.

I just joined this studio using the intro month deal and I absolutely love it! The classes are challenging and restorative and the variety (Bikram, Vinyasa, Pilates, Barre) is wonderful. Most importantly, everyone at the studio is incredibly welcoming and inclusive. This is a community, not just a yoga studio.

So, this is my second time attempting to attend a class at Bikram but at different location and both times, I arrived before the classes started. My class is going on now at the Riverdale location where I arrived 17 mins early. The site says arrive 15 mins early. The doors were locked, the instructor saw me through the glass and proceeded like I wasnt there. I stayed thinking maybe it was the class before the 7p one, but nope, at 7p, I walked out of the building. I wont be back.

I have been practicing yoga for six years and have visited several studios around DC, MD, VA, as well as in other states around the country. The Bikram Yoga Works studios are at the top of the list. BYW Takoma Park is no exception. The instructors are consistently top notch. Consistent quality control is one aspect of these studios that sets them apart from others. I can't recommend these studios more highly!

I just signed up Takoma location for (30 days trial). The first day yoga was ok but today when i got to the place to do 4pm Hot Pilates, the door was already closed before 4PM so i had to knock and one of the student opened after me being outside in cold for 5 minutes. The instructor (Pilate) short lady which I didn’t get her name was VERY RUDE/MEAN when she saw me inside, she yelled at the person who opened the door and she started to walk towards the door, opened it for me to leave the place which I don’t understand since I was already there dressed, the class was not started, some people was changing their cloth outside but still she refused letting me in and had an attitude like I am there for free/ she should know how she get paid comes from each person who comes there.
I wouldn’t do her class till I am done with my trial. She shouldn’t be instructor with that kind of attitude and customer service. I don’t think this is the way to retain new customers or handle this kind of situation. In order to be in businesses for a long time, you should be able know how to care for customers or you will be out of business very soon.

i have been practicing 26+2 for 10 years. i recently had to move back to PG county and Riverdale was my closest option altho i also practiced at takoma. it became clear to me that the teachers at this studio are robots when i lost count of how many times they told me
to hurt myself in class “pull down till your hip hurts” or “bend your spine backwards until it hurts”. this is yoga, not torture and beginners will take this literally. in maggie’s class i counted 14 times- she told me to hurt myself. in leah’s class it was over 20. not ONCE in the month i practiced did the teachers take the time to learn my name or even act with warmth when i walked in. if you decide to practice here, be conscious of your body- pain is not the goal. i highly recommend kerry and ambitya’s classes. they are strong teachers. jeris’ workshops are amazing. he is full of great information. these 3 teachers are the only reason i am rating this studio/s a 3 out of 5. otherwise, the rating would be much lower. as for the studio itself, i personally do not like the carpeting in the room, but i do like the natural light that comes into the room.

From beginning to end it was an amazing experience. I believe I was under the instruction Leah, she was so resourceful and attentive to newbies. The goal for the first class was to listen to my body and stay in the room, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! I am excited about my next visit. The facility was very clean no foul or sweaty smell and the other attendees were welcoming as well. The room temperature was an experience but I enjoyed it I remained in Savasna when I was overwhelmed. The cool lavender cloth with the lights off at the end of class was EVERYTHING! This was my first Yoga class ever and I’m thrilled to return and improve!

Was doing the month trial but in my third class I had an unpleasant experience and decided to stop going. I'm a bodybuilder and I thought this yoga could help release some muscle tension. After my third class ever, the instructor (after having called me out 3 or 4 times during class for not being able to do certain moves) came up to me and asked if I was injured and why I couldn't do the "simplest moves". Kind of judgmental. Disappointed.

The instructor was welcoming to me as a new student. Bikram, is of course intense for those who don't practice regularly. She kept an eye on me, gave me a couple comments directed at me individually and didn't seem to mind when I sat out a posture in child's pose. I enjoyed the class. However, this place needs to go hard flooring, the carpeting smell from understandably sweaty people, is overwhelming.I couldn't focus when we were in savasana or any floor postures because of the strong odor- like sweaty feet.

I've been to Riverland and Ivy City locations. Both are beautiful, serene, spotless and well-organized. The locker rooms are spacious with showers that are clean enough to pass even my germophobe snobbery. The instructors are all very good. You pick the one whose style and rhythm work well for you. Ive done hot yoga and hot barre and though I struggled as a newbie, I've loved it. Invest in yourself and this gem of a small business!!

Word to the wise: be punctual or get locked out!

When I bought my Groupon pass, I excitedly headed over to check the place out but arrived after class started. The instructor was teaching and could not come out, per their policy.

Initially irritated, I later took personal responsibility for being late. I assumed that there might be another staffer to let me in for a tour while class ensued. It would be helpful to post a sign explaining the policy or flagging it on the website. I do, however, understand they need to run a tight schedule and a have a small staff. That's a small price to pay for a first rate facility obviously curated and presented with love and a dedication to excellence.

If I could give negative stars I would, I saw this online and thought it would be great because the service they claimed to have fit my schedule. However after arriving I was met with a locked door and a rep talking to me through a glass door as if I was a criminal. When I told them I was a potential client and I wanted a tour and more information I was advised to go home and call. If your advertising a service and I take the time out to come see if it was really for me. 1st impressions are everything and this was horrible and advise anyone to go to another facility because this was a bad experiance and they have horrible customer service.
