I went to an in studio class after not being in a studio for a few years, my previous studio closed. It was such a good vibe, the class was such a good flow, and it's definitely encouraged to go at your own pace with whatever you're comfortable with. Emily was the instructor and she was so friendly and inviting, I will definitely go back for her class!

We bought our daughter an Ariel play class for her birthday. It was worth every penny, she had a blast and the teacher, Mrs. Angela was fantastic. She was very involved with each student. She gave my daughter a wonderful experience. Thank you!

Update: In response to the reply claiming that there was attendance during the months in question, that is absolutely false! I had at least two months of not attending due to the significant nature of my domestic violence case as well as the loss of my family member!
Not to mention, I only attended the studio 4-5 times in total but they continued taking payments for several months which was in the $500 range due to the continued billing.
MOST UNSETTLING, THE OWNER RESPONSE STATED HER EXCUSES FOR CONTINUING TO TAKE PAYMENTS BUT NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED ALL THE MESSAGES THAT I LEFT FOR THE MANAGER WHO IS ALSO THE OWNER ??!!
I felt she reacted to my messages as if I did not deserve a response and this happened several times so that’s why this place left a bad impression on me.
Worse still, when I initially joined, I had to go through extended delays to get access to the second class due to the instructor not being able to even verify my membership. She actually left me in the lobby eventually returned then advised that she needs to call the owner to confirm that I actually have a membership. I acknowledge the owner later apologized for the extensive scrutiny that I endured before the instructor believed that I was a member, however the combination of everything left me feeling like the owner trivialized their shortcomings to shift blame to the customer when she CLEARLY knows she did not respond to a single one of my messages! Had she at least made an attempt to respond, I would not have felt nearly this upset about my **overall** experience! Which I am sure the owner knows but it is easier to twist the facts vs taking accountability.
Bottom line, I felt the vibe was way off since the day the instructor was **shocked** that I could even be a member and left me out in the lobby for a considerable amount of time trying to figure out if indeed I already paid despite my logging into my Navy Federal Credit Union online account to show proof of my paid membership along with my photo i.d.

Initial review….
I really wanted to like this place but deeply disappointed by how they kept charging my account while I was going through the family crisis of losing my 22 year old sister as well as an emotionally traumatic domestic violence case. I emailed and called but the manager who I believe is also the owner did not acknowledge my calls. After sending a follow up email, the owner said her policy forbids makeup classes.
While on many levels, I respect the business policy, as a near twenty year Nottingham business owner myself, out of commitment to my customers, I tend to consider extenuating circumstances when implementing policies. Hence why, I am disappointed with the rigidity but mostly the owner not returning my calls.

I enjoyed my time at the gym. I may even drop in again. I would like the gym to be cleaned after every session especially since we spend most of the time on the floor. After purchasing my own equipment and asking instructors to swifter I felt much better coming. I enjoyed seeing some of the same faces in class and most of the instructors/classes were fun.

I love this studio! I typically take the slow flow with Jenny and it’s the best. Jenny always seems to know just the right flow to stretch out from the work week. She’s super sweet, funny and explains all of the poses really well. It’s great studio for beginners because the instructors explain how to do the poses to ensure they are done safely. It’s a warm and welcoming community which makes me excited to go to class each time.

Clean, cute little studio. Trish was an awesome instructor; she gave multiple variations/options for each move for people of any skill level to participate and to be able to customize the session to meet your needs.

It was an awesome class and I really enjoyed CeCe's teaching style. As well as her very warm greeting and she was so knowledgeable on the memberships. I was very happy about that! The class was a great pace and I really enjoyed how aesthetically beautiful each space is. From the front door to the bathroom it is so pretty and makes you feel so good. I can’t wait to go back to my next class!

I am new to yoga. Jen answered all of my questions and made me feel like I was an old friend. It was very relaxing and the stretch was amazing!!! I will be back and the system would not let me give more than a 5 stars or I would have!!!! That is what my experience deserved.

Breakaway is such an amazing and supportive community!!
Throughout the first part of the COVID closures, teachers quickly pivoted to offer high quality instruction by Zoom.
Now that the studio is back open the safety precautions in place and multiple options to attend class are phenomenal. The studio space feels so safe and clean. Participants are spread out and respectful of social distance. When I can’t get there, I have terrific option including live streamed classes or participating on my own schedule through the recordings sent to members.
Breakaway Yoga is an essential part of my mental and physical self care!!

Small and intimate yoga studio with a cool vibe. Offer a variety of classes and packages. I took an aerial class and enjoyed it! They are super fun, they have a gratitude jar which I really loved and decently priced clothes for sale! Would reccomend to anyone looking for a small intimate studio! ❤️

I’m a new client to this studio and i wanted to take a few more classes before writing a review, but I just immediately love it. I’m always nervous to do any exercise classes, but this studio has been so inviting. The lobby area is very welcoming and they have oracle cards at the front, which I’m personally very into. The studio (at least during the classes I’ve taken) has dim lighting, which helps take away some of the self consciousness if you’re new to yoga practice. What I really love are the instructors. I’ve Taken classes with a couple of them, and they’ve all been open and accepting of everyone’s capabilities. They give you options and repeatedly emphasize that it’s your practice, so you get to choose what to do/what you’re capable of doing. I highly recommend BreakAway.

I felt soooo good, so emotionally elated. I had such an amazing experience. It was physical, emotional, and spiritual. It was so much more than I expected. Everyone made me feel so welcome and I didn't feel judged at all. I am telling all my friends and family about my incredible experience. I had not broke a sweat like that in a long time. It felt so good, so cleansing to the body, mind and soul. The instructor was absolutely amazing.

I practiced yoga at home for 2 years and never had any interest in going to a studio to practice around other people until I experienced BreakAway Yoga. Now I can't imagine my life without BreakAway classes! They have fair prices & great deals to make it affordable to be a regular. The $35 for 30 days unlimited trial was a perfect way for me to explore all of their different classes & find my favorites. It allowed me to branch out and try new approaches to yoga without feeling like I had anything to lose!
BreakAway has something for everyone, whether you want to get sweaty & get your heartbeat up or get your chill on & relax & stretch it out. There are classes for feeling comfortable with familiar flows and poses and classes for breaking out of your comfort zone with new poses and approaches. Every teacher is friendly and welcoming and embraces the idea that your time in the studio is about YOU, not what anyone else thinks about how yoga should look or feel. I love the way they use music playlists to accompany the classes. My favorite classes are Yoga Sculpt, Buti Yoga, and BreakAway Flow, plus the rotating Fri-YAY Flow class that is often the perfect answer for the question of how to shake off a long week.

I love Breakaway Yoga! Every class is so amazing! The classes are so put together and flow so well! I love the different types offered, and that there is 6am classes because of my work and school it's hard to get to afterwards. Plus everyone (teachers + members) are so sweet, nice, and welcoming in a non-judgmental place! Jen is awesome! Every time I leave a class I feel so happy and calm 💗🙏🏻

Why do I have to live so far away! Even so, I would drive the hour between us to take classes! First of all, they offer BUTI!! There aren’t many studios in Maryland that offer BUTI...let alone BUTI Glow!! Ashley is amazing!
Then there’s the atmosphere. You feel at home the minute you walk in the door. The owner is so personable, energetic and helpful. You feel like you are part of a family. Even in the bathroom, you are welcomed with affirmations to give you that extra encouragement.
I highly recommend trying a class or two! 💜

I’ve been doing yoga for about 4 years now. As a Yoga student and instructor I have nothing but the highest praise for this studio. Beautiful and welcoming environment that really takes you away from the norm of yoga. Not to mention the owner is a wonderful soul with her clients best interests in mind. Breakaway is a perfect name because of the classes being offered so differently than anywhere else I’ve been to. If you’re a yogi looking for somewhere refreshing, check out this studio! I sincerely guarantee you won’t be disappointed!!

I came to BreakAway as a total newbie seeking some sort of scheduled workout that would keep me engaged. I have found that but also so much more here. If you’re reading this thinking that you are not athletic or limber enough for yoga, Jennifer will make you throw those thoughts and doubts right out the window (and stomp on them and burn them!). It’s such a welcoming space and the good vibes you leave with will help shape your whole day.

I am new to yoga but I’ve really enjoyed the classes I’ve taken at BreakAway in the last few months. I always feel free to explore what feels good for my body that day and push myself to find more flexibility and strength. I’m grateful to find a place nearby that’s given me a consistent place to connect. I love the 6am classes and Friday night special classes, they are so creative and fun!

Went to the Fri-Yay flow class tonight featuring Fleetwood Mac songs. It was AMAZING! I'm an ex-gymnast who has trouble finding a workout that's fun and quick and entertaining enough for me, and this hit the spot. Jen is the owner and she was incredible-teaching poses but also focusing on just being yourself and doing what makes you feel good! Studio is adorable and I loved the lack of mirrors (I wasn't sure I would, but being able to totally focus and not worry about how I looked doing it was AWESOME). The colors are fun, the lighting is perfect, and I just loved it! Can't wait for Aerosmith next week! 🤗

I can’t express how happy I’ve been finding BreakAway, Jen, and the amazing people I continue to meet every visit! I was a little anxious coming back into a studio, but was welcomed so lovingly from the very start; those nerves were history as I crossed the threshold!! I’m so happy to have a place to go and just be present for a little while in the midst of the everyday chaos. I can truly say that when I’m there, I am HOME!

I have been to many yoga studios in baltimore city and baltimore county and this one is by far one of my favorites. Jenn is a great teacher and she has a very unique style in her yoga teaching, which was refreshing. She is very kind & personable and she made it a point to learn my name, greeting me by my name when I came for classes. I will definitely return and would recommend this studio to anyone :)
