Was wanting to walk a few holes at 5:20pm on Monday. Was told they were not sending anyone else out because they close at 6:40pm. Isnβt it my decision to pay and only play 4 or 5 holes or as many as I get in before 6:40pm? As long as Iβm back before they close. My taxes help pay for that course and the payroll to run it. The more people who play the more money they make.

Participated in a charity tournament here and had a great time. Iβm a beginner golfer and this course was very tough. Variations and elevation and tight fairways. Even with that I had fun and am sure more talented golfers will also enjoy the course.

My husband and I booked the golf clubhouse for our September wedding reception. Our day was perfect, and the evening here was nothing short of magical! The clubhouse is newly renovated, and is spacious and beautiful inside. We didnβt need a lot of extra decorations as this event space is gorgeous enough on its own! There was no need for additional uplighting (plenty of natural light coming in from the windows and large chandeliers), and folks were able to wander onto the outside space that overlooks the golf course for additional seating and a beautiful sunset view.
There are spaces reserved for the bride and groom to get ready in, as well as showers and locker rooms. We were able to head in and get ready there before the ceremony, and my bridesmaids and I were able to leave our belongings and a change of clothes in the private rooms. Thereβs a large kitchen and refrigerator available for caterers to use, and a cash bar in the adjacent room. Patricia, the hospitality manager, was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish! She kept in touch with us throughout the entire planning process, and was such an incredible help in getting everything in order for our wedding day. Patricia answered all of our questions and provided us with a lot of helpful insight and planning advice, as well as with room arrangement and design. She kept in contact with all of our vendors, and ensured that things kept running smoothly behind the scenes.
On the big day, Patricia and her team assisted our caterer/decorator with setup as well as with food service. My husband and I were absolutely blown away when we entered the beautifully decorated reception space, and guests were raving all evening long about the excellent service and amazing atmosphere! Our only heads-up would be to make sure that if your vendors are not already on the approved vendor list, that they are all notified early on about the vendor paperwork requirements, so that they have sufficient time to complete this.
Again, our wedding day was absolutely magical, and we canβt thank Patricia and the team at Chesapeake Hills enough! My husband and I HIGHLY recommend this venue! :-)

I enjoy this course alot have played multiple times, however this labor day weekend out was less than enjoyable by the end. We were on pace for playing a standard 4hr 30min round (which was kept track of on grint) when the cart girl we had bought drinks from on hole 8. Jumps in with the group behind us and by hole 16 has decided to tell us we're holding up groups behind us including them. Now I understand the frustration and don't ever want to hold people up however if they are pushing groups out so close together that us playing a standard 4 and a half hour round is holding up others that's not our problem. All this managed to accomplish was frustrate and annoy our group that's trying to enjoy a golf outing along with every other patron there.

Great course and clubhouse. The improvements to the course in 2024 are awesome. Highly recommend to folks that have not been here or haven't been here recently. Staff are working hard to make this a place to enjoy golfing.

I tried to give this place a chance since it's right by my house and they were constructing the new clubhouse but every time I come they are rude to me whether I make a tee time or not. Today they let me go out as a walker for 18 and didn't inform me about the Friday shotgun blitz on the back nine so I had to walk from 12 back to 5 to finish up. The course itself isn't great even for a muni and the staff makes it just a terrible experience. Drive the extra distance and pay the extra 20$ to play a decent course

Play there quite often and find the course in pretty good shape for the amount of traffic it gets. Only caviat is call up a head of time and see if there is a scramble or tournament going on at the time.

The golf course is in great shape for a mid March round in Southern Maryland. The new clubhouse in the pictures looks great. The drawback that I have is the markup on equipment was about 38% higher than retail stores. A box of Titleist ProV1 retails for about $55 at sporting good stores, but sold at the clubhouse for $80. The rental clubs the offered were undesirable and included multiple 9 irons and no variety of wedges. If you are an above average amateur golfer needing to rent, I would not recommend this course.

I live on the golf course. The primary issue is golfers urinating at the tee right behind my house by the trees on both sides of the tee. We notified the property a few times about the constant urinating. It's still happening, often. Classy...

I had a ton of fun playing here with a bunch of friends. Lots of local knowledge is key here, especially off the tee. Tons of trees and tight landing areas. Driver is often not the choice. Big but fun greens. They were running slowly when I played but thank goodness. This would be a really tough track if they ever got fast and hard. Clubhouse is currently being built and it'll be glorious. People working here are super nice and welcoming. Fun course for a match, scramble, or a Solstice event. I will definitely be back.

Was here for a get together. Was told our party was too large and was slowing the course down. People ahead of us were never Tβd off when we got to each consecutive hole. Split our group in two after being instructed to do so. We were waiting almost 20-30 min per hole. Stopped after the 8th hole. Management never had a good attitude. Once we decided to get a refund we were forced to pay for 9 holes.

These people don't care whatsoever about damages caused by someone using their course. Had a golfer pry my fence apart looking for a golf ball. My fence is now slanted and wide enough for my dogs or kids to get through and the golf course wasn't helpful in any way about the issue.

Wow. I'm not even sure what to say...
Terrible, just terrible.
I'm usually not that negative without some positive aspect for balance but... it's affordable. There.
About $40 for a full round with cart + tax.
Ok so, let me restart & first say that the course itself looks fine.
It's not in great shape but it's not awful either.
I didn't play, not after that, but I looked around a bit.
That said, everything else was terrible.
From initial contact, the customer service was extremely poor.
Probably the worst I've ever experienced at a golf course.
Think disgruntled McDs worker after they were fired from Walmart.
Obviously, when you're greeted like that everything else has a less rosey tone but honestly might not go back JUST because of how rude the pro shop attendant was.
She was just so discourteous.
The facilities, to be fair, are under construction.
I was told the new club house would be finished by summer of this year.
With that, there are limited drink & food options available.
"Pre-made microwavable" options is what I was told.
The pro shop also has very limited inventory so purchasing clubs or getting properly fitted isn't likely going to happen there.
Might try this place out again next year, if they change staff.
Hope this helps.
Cheers everyone π»

Had a great time with friends. Iβm terrible at golf but play a few times a year at most. Staff was nice and helpful. The course is fun and in ok shape for being in the middle of January. One of the cheaper places to play. $50 paid for a full round, cart and bucket of range balls. You canβt ask more for the price. Looks like they are building a club house which will be a nice welcomed addition over the small one that is currently there.

Do not expect to play this course until dark. Management currently requires carts to be returned 45 minutes before sunset. Cart staff have frequently pestered me while walking that I need to be finished 30 minutes prior to sunset. A couple of the employees in the βclub houseβ are quite friendly. However, upper management is quite rude and posses little to no customer service attributes. The course itself is challenging especially in the back 9. The prevailing attitude seems to be βwe are pretty busy so, we can do what ever we want.β If you can play elsewhere, I would recommend you do so.

Courses in good condition. Fairways and cut nicely and clear, grass is not too high. The roughs are very challenging but if you're good at getting out of the rough you shouldn't have too big of a problem. The greens are in good shape. One or two of them on the back nine needs some work but all in all they are in pretty good shape.

Course is in ok shape!! The management isn't very good. The course seems to need more employees!! No carts, grass isn't cut well. No PRO on property!! Flags stay in the same place for a week or more. Tee the same story. No men's leagues or women's leagues. Honestly its sad what Calvert County hasn't done with this course I wouldn't drive 35 mins to play it for sure. Its a good place if you live close. Outside of that its a dog track . Its could be a gem with work! The flip side, the course has a lot of great people (locals) that play. The only highlight honestly. So if you up to playing a 2 headed dragon! Then this course has what you want. Front 9 plays pretty easy only to set you up for a roller-coaster back 9, that can add up to bogeys and doubles quickly. Over all I would say the course is 2 stars. Its not really the course or players its mostly poor management!!

I've been playing the course on and off since 2002 and have seen it thrive and struggle. As of 2018, the course has seen both the front and back nine fairways replanted. Some greens are impeccable, and some greens are pretty beat up. This is a county course that is county maintained, so don't expect Augusta National. I think generally the prices are a little bit steep for the course condition, but it's still fun to play. The guys who work there are really cool and a pleasure to deal with. Gary and Rocky are really nice guys who work in the clubhouse (or trailer at the moment).

Nice local golf course. The staff is very friendly, doing all they could to make me feel welcome. The players on the course were very friendly as well. The green fees and price for renting clubs were very affordable. Temporarily the clubhouse is in a trailer on the car park, but it has a nice atmosphere. I got the impression this is a club for everyone in the community, no special dress code required. The training facilities are really great!

Tee boxes and fairways on back nine a real embarrassment. Just can't seem to grow grass. Seems like whatever they get to grow they cut to bare ground. Plans are to redo the front nine in july. Heck, that's the only place they currently have grass! Should consider redoing the back nine again vice destroying the front. Frustrating to see the county's only course in such poor condition with no hope insight.

Decent golf course for the money. The greens were in pretty poor condition but that could be due to me playing the course in mid March. Fairways and tee boxes were in very good condition. The par 3 second hole was under renovation, so a temporary green about 75 yds away (terrible condition, felt like putting on a mound of dirt) was in play rather than the original 155 yd green. Overall, a solid course. Would play again. 7.5/10
