Tried to use the app and it crashes nonstop. Called to make the kidspace reservation and the highly confused front desk guy transferred me to the pool. Called back and got the answering machine. The entire CA is pretty much run by incompetent teenagers.
P.S. Last year at an outdoor pool a 2 year old was facedown in the water for a good couple seconds and got scooped out by some other pool guests. Everyone looked up at the lifeguard and he just shrugged. Never got out his chair. The manager, another teenager, told me he "just got here."

She took the time to give us a full tour, answered all of our questions, and really went above and beyond to make sure we understood everything the gym has to offer. Columbia Gym has been a consistently disappointing experience. The staff are rude and unprofessional. The facility is poorly maintained. The gym area is dirty, the pool is overcrowded and frequently looks unclean, and the overall environment feels neglected.
During one visit, I was injured in their sauna after accidentally coming into contact with an extremely hot metal lamp cover that was installed far too close to the seating area. There were no warning signs or safety barriers, and I ended up with noticeable burns on my back. I tried multiple times to report the incident and reach the manager, and it took five days just to get a response. Even now, they still havenβt fixed the issue or taken any real responsibility.
On top of all that, cancelling a membership is a hassle. They make the process difficult and confusing.
For the high cost of membership and guest passes, this gym fails on every level: safety, cleanliness, customer service, and transparency. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere

I have two plans with Gold Gym and I had already been wrongly charged before and I tried to resolve it and nothing was done. Because I really like the gym I kept going and didn't complain about what had happened. Today I woke up and they simply charged me $235 dollars from my account and they don't even know how to tell me why. They say it's an annual fee and the monthly fee, but I've already been charged the monthly fee for the month and even the annual fee they're charging is not the amount we agreed to when we signed up for the plan. Now I'm requesting cancellation and no one can help me. They say that only at the reception desk. I'm traveling and I won't be back this weekend. I'm afraid that they'll deduct another amount from my account, especially since the one that was already charged was paid to me.

I signed up for a membership primarily to use the basketball courts. I play in a senior league, so Iβm trying to get some shots up whenever I can, but the courts are extremely dusty and slippery. This could lead to serious injuries. I've made a complaint but no change has been made.

Worst customer service of any gym I've ever been to. I'm a senior citizen who is out of shape and I signed up here. They took all my information and said I was good to go. I show up to use the gym as I paid for and now they demanded that I have a picture ID on me. No one in front of me no one in back of me was required to produce ID. In the dark in the snow 9Β° temperature I had to run back home to get an ID. Even though I had provided them with four points of information that only I would know. When I asked to speak to the woman who signed me up they said she wasn't available. Gyms with good customer relations would have ask me to provide photo ID the next time I come in. The person at the desk name was Dat and The manager's name was Chris Lucas.

I went to the Columbia Gym as my typical Columbia Association pool is shut down for routine maintenance. I was doing lap swimming and a father and two children came into my lane. I almost ran into the one child as not only can you barely see in this pool they were dead stopped in the lane. The other child I came within half a foot of collision with as he walked down the side of the lane.
Both myself and another swimmer who was having similar problems in another lane talked to the lifeguards who said this was acceptable as the other people in the lanes were to one side. So they allowed them to swim in the lane the entire time. In addition, another lap swimmer got into my same lane and could only access about half of it further making it even more of a collision course.
As a former lifeguard myself and frequent lap swimmer I have never seen this allowed in any pool. Had I not been doing a forward stroke someone could have easily been hurt as lap swimmers typically swim at considerable speed. In addition this pool is very high in chlorine so you can not see more then two feet in front of you.
If the lanes are to be used recreationally that is OK but consider ensuring there is a reservation system so it is a dedicated lane as this is very dangerous.

We've been members of Columbia Association for about 3-4 years and love it. When I'm healthy, I go 4x per week, mostly Body Pump and Yoga. The whole family goes, and everyone who works there is wonderful. Great instructors for the classes, great people behind the counter, and great everything. Very happy with everything.

2 things marred my experience: 1) they shut the pool down mid-swim because some kid vomited. Thatβs not the problem, but the fact that the kidsβ AND the lap pool share the same water is the problem. No other pool Iβve been to does this. 2) No clean towels in the mensβ locker room. If youβre gonna provide towel service PUT SOME TOWELS IN THE LOCKER ROOMS! I had to run out naked to get a towel. Other than these problems the place is good.

My first experience was very unpleasant and unwelcoming. I was told by Kathy to come at 2 for a tour and possibly to sign up for membership. I arrived at 2 with my family and was told by the unwelcoming front desk staff that Kathy went out to lunch. No call, no telling me not to come later, nothing. Too many red flags for me to spend almost $200 month for a membership.

Had to pay a significant buyout when we moved away after 6 months. When we originally signed we were told there was no difference between monthly and yearly and were pressured into yearly so I guess that was a lie.

These issues were resolved within a week with a reduced buyout of the remaining time. The gym is pretty good overall, with a good array of well maintained equipment and a relatively amiable staff. Sometimes you get the general mob of people, but overall the gym was well kept and it was an overall good place to work out.

Very unhappy with our ending experience with this gym. I feel deceived by their business practices. My husband and I signed up in the winter, knowing we'd only be in the area for 6 months. We were up front about this with the gym, and were assured we'd be able to cancel our membership as long as we could prove we were moving. We went to do that this week and we were told that there was a substantial contract buy out we were obligated to pay. At no time was this explained when we signed up. This was a considerable amount of money- more than Iβve ever had to pay even when I ended a gym membership previously at a large national chain. While the facilities and staff at the gym were nice, I would caution anyone against signing an agreement with them. All around a disappointing experience.
