My son basically grew up at Columbia Gymnastics under the watchful and compassionate eye of Dave C. As a family, we spent a lot of time at this gym and have many many fond memories. The staff deeply cares about the kids. The reason we decided on Columbia was that we felt that the gym struck a perfect balance of “fun” and “rigor”. Our son was fortunate enough to compete at the national level and he made many lifelong friends with his teammates. Thank you so much Dave. It’s been years since he graduated, and we still speak of you and the gym often.

I have taken both daughters here. My eldest had Ms. Rita- she is very engaged and keeps the class on task. My youngest has had a string of very young coaches (late teens/early 20s) who are generally disengaged. She’s usually left to her own devices while the teacher watches and occasionally points at things. We’ve been taking her from age 4 to age 7 and she hasn’t learned how to do a cartwheel or a handstand or even a somersault. It’s confusing because we see groups of older kids that are clearly very skilled but it’s not clear how the younger kids actually get to that level. If you go to the rec classes, just know it’s strictly for fun (which it is) and if you’re looking for skill development, inquire about private lessons.

Very unorganized, do not return calls nor emails. They definitely lack professionalism and customer service.

We have been a part of both the HoCo parks and rec one-week gymnastics program and the PreTeam boys. Our kids loved the one week program. It seems best for kids 4 and younger. We joined the PreTeam boys afterwards and it is a great fit for 4+. Our kids loved that they get to be on the “big/real” equipment. Coach Adam is amazing with the young kids. He has the perfect balance of structure and fun. He sets boundaries with the kids so they aren’t a chaotic mess. The kids respect him and have a blast. They do the trampoline warm up, floor, rings, high bar, parallel bar, and foam pit fun jumps at the end. Different than many other sports, they get a good arm and core body work out.
Thank you Coach Adam and both assistant coaches (O’Ryan and I’m sorry I forgot the second name) for being positive male role models.

I love the skilled my son experience and the motivation he received directly from his coach. I am very disappointed by how a few parents and one of the female coaches handle my grandson today. Extremely unprofessional. I have never experienced this treatment before. It's all about the championship banner. She snatched it out of his hands and said she was a coach. My grandson just had his oldest brother buried, and that means a little something to him. We do not need bad behavior like this around kids.

Hosted my daughter's birthday party here and received soooo many compliments. The staff was fantastic at organizing games and an obstacle course. Our party host was wonderful. Would absolutely recommend.

Fun place for younger kids, the instructors have all been attentive, caring and kind. The gym itself has a lot of fun equipment, but there is a slight smell to the area. I have two small concerns/requests - one is that the county offer more sessions, as the classes run through Howard County fill up extremely quickly. The other wish is that there were an office person, (or someone who isn't an instructor) who could answer questions and direct parents/kids where to go. They run a lot of classes concurrently, and if you're new, you have absolutely no way to know where to go. There is a desk, but it is never manned.

**UPDATE to my initial review: 21SEP2024 **
The owner DID reach out to me (contrary to what the office manager had stated), extending his apologies as well as offering a means to remedy the situation. He took the time to listen to my concerns, acknowledging that there was definitely some miscommunication/misunderstanding on their part. He seemed receptive to my feedback, and seemed to have understood the parent perspective, which I do appreciate.

09SEP2024:
The 2024/2025 season started off with a teacher for the 5th Grade & up Monday class being completely uninterested in teaching the kids. Upon reaching out about this, and requesting to drop the class, I was told that would be possible and a partial refund would be processed (and I was told that the teacher for that class had quit). A few days went by with no response from the office manager, and so upon calling (almost 5 days later), the office manager said that the class drop had already been processed but no refund will be given because she didn't know that there are no refunds (despite her email indicating this would be done). I ask to speak to the gym owner, and was told that person is never in the gym and they're not in a position to call me because they're never there...
This was just my experience, and I am not sure if it is the new management because my kiddo has been a student for multiple seasons. When Janie was the office manager - a lovely, kind, courteous, and helpful lady - she was super helpful; coach Elena was amazing, and there have been other decent coaches, but this new office manager doesn't have any courtesy, nor are they willing to admit to their short comings.
There are other gymnastics clubs that will be a better option than Columbia Gymnastics.

This place is awesome. I took my son there for class and it could not be any better. The instructors were caring, knowledgeable, and helpful. They made my son feel like he was the only one in the class. The facility was also really nice and clean. The class was about 45 minutes and the highlight of our week. We traveled from about 50 minutes away for a 45 minute class because of how outstanding this place is. We look forward to many more years!

CG has the best Boy’s Team around! My son has tons of energy and loves to climb and Men’s Gymnastics has been an amazing fit for him! Plus, they have the best coaches and staff! We are so very happy here!

We LOVE Columbia Gymnastics! After trying every other gymnastics program in the area, I can confidently say that the experience at Columbia Gymnastics is the best! We attend weekly class during the school year and it is also one of our favorites for summer camp. The teachers are knowledgeable, approachable, and create a positive, safe learning environment. My son and daughter thrive within their program. There are classes for every level at multiple times throughout the week to fit even the busiest schedule. The office staff are easy to work with and have always responded quickly when I have questions or need to schedule make-up class. The gym itself is clean and class is always run efficiently. We are so lucky to have a top notch gymnastics program so close to home!

My 7 year old daughter has been going to Columbia gymnastics for 3 years and we absolutely love it! The owners are super accommodating and friendly. The instructors are so kind and patient with the kids. My daughter has learned so much in such a short period of time. We will continue to take classes here for years to come!

Great gym, friendly staff, awesome owners! My daughter has done gymnastics here for two years and loves it. This past summer we were very happy with the summer camp program. Also recommend the parties there, all the kids of varying age had a great time and asked to go back. Highly recommend this facility!

My daughter is in the toddler class and it is the highlight of the week for both of us. Through the first 8 weeks of classes, I’ve seen her learn how to listen to the coach, become braver with trying new moves, and engage with her classmates. The instructors are patient and encouraging (and understanding when the 3 year olds aren’t interested or go rogue) and the administrative team is prompt and helpful. Highly recommend Columbia Gymnastics if you are looking for a well-run gym!

My daughter has been going to this gym since 2010 and has been on team for years now. The owner and all the staff are so caring about all the kids. They are incredibly kind and supportive of everyone. Always been very positive experience here. I highly recommend Columbia Gymnastics.

My daughter goes to Columbia gymnastics and it’s great! They don’t usually pick up when we call them because there is only like 1 registration person. The gym is really clean and make the students wash there hands when they come in! The classes are good and they work on all the events!

Our grandson had his first/last class at Columbia gymnastics yesterday. I have never seen a more uninvolved “coach” with young children. She didn’t make eye contact with the children most of the time, while pointing constantly to tell the confused kids what was expected. We assumed she must be a substitute coach, pulled from one of the kids training there. Went to ask if this was a normal class and could find no-one working in the office. I could go on and on with descriptions of how distant and clearly bored she was, but I will leave it with the statement that I have never seen a person more uncomfortable with young children than this young lady. My daughter was charged the registration fee and class fee non-refundable. Please reconsider if you are thinking about using this gym for your young children. If I could give zero stars I would

I have been calling the gym since June to get my daughter in. It took over 2 weeks to get a call back from the message I left and by that time I had already called back. I have been told twice I would receive a call from the gym manager and am still waiting. My family and I have recently relocated and I was hoping to keep my daughters practice going. It is disheartening the lack of customer service and professionalism I have received.

Our son competed at Columbia gymnastics for ten years, and started gymnastics four years prior to that. The gym has been such a positive force in our family, we can't thank them enough. Kristin is so intensely interested in the success of the kids that her postive energy is evident every time you walk in the gym. Coach Dave has given my son life lessons that will be with him until the day he dies. He literally helped raise my son.
Columbia Gymnastics has truly been a huge part of our family for the past decade and we can not say enough great things about them.

Very limited payment methods accepted (only cash or check), very impossible make-up policy (you can't do a make-up if there's already one other student doing the make-up, and only one make-up lesson allowed in a month), and the whole place smells like feet once you enter this place. Will not recommend this place.
