I love this dance studio. Great selection of adult classes — jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip hop etc. Very friendly staff and professional instructors.
I want to especially mention Sam’s adult jazz classes on Tuesday, she’s always very positive and has great exercises to help you get better.

If I could summarize in words the change my daughter went through visiting this studio I would. My timid child went from sobbing in the corner, in my arms, for 30min to the second visit dancing about yelling look at me! At home I had to pry the leotard off of her for bed as she danced all over the house. I highly recommend this company! Take advantage of the free trial sessions to see if its a good fit and meet the welcoming team. Thank you Bonnie and staff for making my twinkle tot feel right at home.

Commotion dance has been so fun! It's been about 3 months for me. When I first started i had no real experience in dance, but week after week i have seen so much improvement! The classes are easy and not intimidating at all! Seeing the results has built up my confidence with dancing and self expression. (Take the adult hip hop!! It's so fun!) :)

The staff are all super nice and classes are fun! Coming from a very little dance background, they make you feel welcome and help you individually when you need it. Sarah is a great instructor for Adult Jazz 1. Classes have a range of ages in them, so everyone feels welcome.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at CoMMotion! Our daughter is now in her third year and has grown tremendously as both a dancer and a person. She's had the opportunity to take multiple styles of dance and is now part of the company program, which has been a fantastic experience. I’ve dealt with dance studios for many years with both my children and grandchildren and CoMMotion is professional and well run. The teachers are very caring toward the students and want to see them succeed. In my opinion it’s the best dance studio around and I highly recommend it by far.

The staff here are so friendly and understanding!!! Signed my 3yo up for classes here and Miss Sophie was so kind and good at keeping the young kids on task. She even let me join the class too when my daughter wouldn't join in without me. Unfortunately, after a few weeks, my daughter decided she didn't want to keep going, and the staff were very understanding about this as well. We plan to return here if my daughter wants to try dance again when she's older.

CoMMotion Dance Studio is great!! My daughter began taking ballet lessons at 3 and loved it. She's still going at age 8 after a break and little pandemic. She's completed a year if ballet, jazz and tap truly tapping (no pun intended)into her passion for dancing. It's been the ultimate confidence booster and socialization experience for her. Ms. Bonnie the studio owner/ dance extraordinaire is a gem along with her Awesome team!!! We love Commotion dance.

Many of the dance teachers are extremely rude and judgmental it’s sad that people like that get to be around kids and many of the dance teachers gossip about the kids and how advance they are. And the front desk lady is rude and judges the kids and speaks to them like they are five years old and this only a week of classes with themselves

I have choreographed and taught at many schools and studios in the DMV performed at the Kennedy Center various times and much more. An amazing dance studio! I danced here for 3 years in high school, and loved all of my teachers. The environment is so warm and welcoming, unlike other dance studios, I didn't feel like I was "competing" with the other girls in my classes. Bonnie and Dawn really know their stuff, too, and they're always teaching you how to work *with your body*, not against it.

Also, the Zumba classes they have for adults at their fitness location are so much fun! Its a really great way to get in shape, and all of the Zumba teachers are also energetic and welcoming.
