AGGRESSIVE WORKERS, man named Brian approached us and screamed to the whole gym we’re doing our shoulder exercise on a back machine… we were on rear delts. Told Brian no 10x and still didn’t listen highly DO NOT recommend working with them as, if you don’t listen to them they will go around talking to other gym members about you even if they’re in the wrong.

I can't recommend Calvin and the Compel Fitness team enough! I came to this gym with only a few months to get in shape for my wedding after my first dress fitting didn't go so well. Calvin immediately set me up with a personalized diet plan that is super effective but also easy to follow. The workouts they showed me were challenging yet doable, and they made sure I stayed on track.
Just one month later, I went for my second fitting, and the dress looked *amazing*! I've lost inches off my waist, and the progress I've made has been incredible. This program has not only made weight loss achievable, but it's also helping me build good habits and boosting my confidence as I approach my wedding day.

I’ve been training with Compel at Crofton for over three years and it’s helped me maintain a discipline and rigor that I couldn’t have achieved otherwise. My experience with Compel Fitness in Crofton has been absolutely amazing. They have very knowledgeable trainers who work with you on your specific goals starting from where you are. This is not some cookie cutter program where everyone is doing the same thing and the trainers are just going through the motions. The staff is incredibly friendly and make you feel like you are part of a team. I have lost like 45 pounds, am down to 18% body fat from 25% a year ago. My goal was to be more fit to improve my golf game. I am down from an 8 handicap to a 4.8! The combination of their program and my dedication and determination has led to remarkable results.

Working with compel and Coach AJ has been amazing. Coming into the gym I had no idea what I was doing, but now I am confident that I will get a good workout in regardless of whether it is in a session or with a guide that was personalized just for me. Each session I have With Aj I know that I will be good sore after because he come up with challenging workouts or ups weights while keeping the session fun and engaging. I absolutely love this program and all the people involved. I needed something simple and I have tried so many things and never get the results. This program becomes friends and family that help motivate you and the classes with the app are so easy to use it makes life amazing. I started with 3 days a week and my second week I bumped it up to 4 and hoping to bump it up to 5. I have so much more energy and feel so much better about myself and I'm only in my third week. My boyfriend and I decided to sign up for training really for our physical and mental health to help with us getting to a better us. He helped me on the phone go over a lot of stuff from workouts to protein shakes and just an all around super friendly person! I set up my own training schedule. He's very responsive to my texts telling him when I want to come to the gym. He schedules them in their system so that I receive an email confirmation. He is also responsive when I need to make a schedule change.

I initially joined Compel Fitness along with my mother during the summer break while I was home. Our fitness journey began at the Marley Station location, but unfortunately, we experienced poor treatment there. Miguel, who was aware of our situation, recommended that we transfer to the Crofton location. To our surprise, during our time at the Marley Station gym, we never received essential components like meal plans, home workouts, body measurements, or even access to the Compel app. This lack of attention to these aspects was only brought to our attention after Miguel intervened. Moreover, our contracts and safety forms were nowhere to be found at the Marley Station facility.
In accordance with my contract with Compel Fitness, I've made several attempts to resolve the issues regarding my membership. I've engaged with various employees including Kelly Sanchez, Alex Curbelo, Miguel and Leafy, all of whom work at Compel Fitness. However, their responses regarding my account's buyout payment and the accumulating additional charges have been inconsistent and confusing. Despite signing an account freeze around a month ago, my account remained unfrozen when I communicated with Kelly and Alex about the freeze. I expressed my willingness to pay the buyout fee of 15% as stipulated in my contract or the $250 payment stated in additonal cancellation rights #5.
During my time with Compel Fitness, I initially entered two contracts – one for team training (which was later canceled) and another for semi-private training (currently active). The transition between these contracts led to double charges, as I was billed for both team training and semi-private training. While the payment for semi-private training went through successfully, the one for teams training partially failed due to insufficient funds on however it still took the funds from the card at the time. Miguel assured me during the contract transition that a refund was being processed, but despite this assurance, I have yet to receive the refund, even after raising the issue on 8/15. Kelly acknowledged the issue but hasn't taken adequate steps to resolve it, leaving me feeling scammed and mistreated by Compel.
To complicate matters, when I attempted to cancel my membership without a buyout fee due to my student status, I was instructed to provide documentation from my school indicating my residency or proof of returning to my residence, such as a bill, lease, or campus housing proof. Unfortunately, I was not informed about the required document date. As a result, I submitted documents spanning a year, including billing information and a recent refund check with my university's address. All of these document were apparently ineligable even though I provided them with the requirements they orginally gave me.
My primary request is simple: I wish to cancel my account and receive my refund. My experience with Compel Fitness has been nothing short of horrendous. The lack of communication, professionalism, and accountability from their employees has been a constant source of frustration. Unknowingly, my account was not frozen, leading to calls from their billing department about my non-payment. Prior to talking with Kelly on 8/15 about my account, Leafy's promise to sort out my account's issues remained unfulfilled, as he walked away from our scheduled meeting that we had scheduled days prior while I was in conversation with other staff members. It's clear that the employees at Compel Fitness are unable to coordinate or provide effective customer service. I'm thoroughly disappointed with the level of service I've received.

I signed up with Compel in January of this year (2022) and very happy I did. Kelly, Lauren, Carrie, and Patrick have all been great. The classes are challenging and my workouts are more effective than if I tried setting up routines on my own. Semi-personal training is great. Even though there are 3 other clients at the same time, there is plenty of personal attention and encouragement.
The Team training is just so much fun because of the camaraderie. I’ve met some great people and we encourage and motivate each other.
I love that Lauren is on top of the monthly check-ins (weight, measurements, diet) because it keeps me accountable.
I had a personal trainer at a different gym in Crofton and there was never a check-in and it didn’t feel like the trainers were really invested in helping me improve. At Compel, the trainers pay attention to each client and will check that the weight you’re working with is challenging, etc. Oh, and I love that Lance will workout right alongside us! It’s one of the things I loved about the Army - the drill sergeants were doing the exercises most of the time with us so you’d know if they could do it, we could do it.

I’ve lost a lot of weight and body fat and gained a lot of muscle really quickly. I like all the trainers who work there and the other people in the classes are cool too. Everyone is nice and I feel a lot healthier since I’ve started with Compel.
I switched to virtual team trainings and they are great as well. I enjoy the vibe of both live and virtual, but I’m more introverted so it’s easier with nobody else around. You don’t have to turn on your video, but I always have mine on.

My experience started with Murf, a super energetic down to earth staff member who you could tell, right off the bat, was passionate about what she did and what she was there to do. She knowledgeably answered every question I had and put me at ease with every concern I followed with. Murf took me through a small workout and midway through I realized she was the real deal. I then met Lauren, a cheerful, witty and bright eyed trainer. She did my initial assessment, built my training regiments and created my meal plan. She is super easy to talk to and just like Murf, super knowledgeable about her craft. I’ve attended one of her semi-private sessions and I have to say, it’s exactly what I was looking for. Beyond that all the staff members are super friendly but if you are lucky enough to stumble upon Lauren and Murf you’ve hit the gold mine. As for me, I started seeing visible results within the first week and lost 5lbs. 5 stars day in and day out.

Quality for the money they charge you is pretty much unbeatable. They’re friendly and open to communication.
