I started working with Compel Fitness in December 2024, and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health. I lifted a bit back in college but was never consistent, and after the pandemic, I completely let myself go. My diet and lifestyle were definitely catching up to me, and I knew something had to change.

Fast forward 7 monthsβ€”I've lost over 30 pounds and dropped my body fat by 8%. I feel stronger, I move better, and I no longer crave Nerds Rope or Albanese gummy bears.

I want to give a huge shoutout to Kevin, who’s been my trainer through this journey. He’s been incredibly motivatingβ€”not just during workouts, but also just getting me to show up and give my best every session. No two sessions are the same and I always walk away feeling accomplished.

I’m incredibly proud of the progress I’ve made. My goal for the rest of the year is to maintain my weight and drop another 5% in body fat. Thanks again to Kevin and the Compel Fitness teamβ€”I couldn’t have done it without you!

I'm 61 years old and signed up at Marley's Gold’s August 2024. One of the best investments in me! So glad Mark took the time to explain the benefits for working with a personal trainer. Kevin Sheckells has been my trainer for most of the time. He is very reliable and dedicated always showing up ready to put in the work pushing and challenging me in areas where I didn't think I was capable. The results have been noticed by many who see me :) He responds to my text messages even when he or I are not at the gym but I have questions. He's always available to answer them. He is very personable and easy to work with. Strongly recommend Kevin to ALL!

I started with Compell at the end of August '24 and have had a great experience in the first 3 months. Everything from the meal plan, guided workouts with knowledgeable and attentive trainers, and positive atmosphere have me looking forward to each session. I already have a noticebale change in my physique and levels of strength and endurance. The two trainers I have worked with the most are Steven and Austin. They both took quick notice of my baseline abilities and have worked me up to doing exercises I never thought I could do before! I have also been trained by Kevin, Mason, Mark, and Connor. Each and every one of these guys provides a challenging, fun, and engaging session that keeps me motivated to continue reaching my fitness goals. This was one of the best decisions I have made since turning 40 in May, and deciding to make my health a priority. I look forward to every booking and cannot wait to see what Compell can help me achieve. Joining the program is definitely a commitment to change - because the trainers will absolutely challenge you, but it is done in a way that is safe, guided by a great group of people who genuinely care about health and fitness and sharing their expertise with others.

I joined golds gym as a step towards bettering my physical health, but had no idea where to start and was pretty intimated by the gym setting. After having a membership for about a week and not taking the step of going in to workout I randomly got a call from Conner, a personal trainer for Compel. He reached out and ask how my experience at the gym has been thus far and if there was any goals that I needed help reaching. I was honest with him about my hesitation and concerns and he immediately asked if I would like to come in and walk me through a workout, get to know me and try and figure out some training goals. As nervous as I was, I showed up and ended up working out and opened up about my struggles to get back into the gym after having a baby. Conner was empathic and eager to help make workout routines, gain strength and plan out meals to assist me throughout the process. Throughout my time training with Compel I’ve had the pleasure of working with Conner, Austin, Kevin, Mark and Steven - all of which are attentive, encouraging and respectful!

I opted in to the one on one sessions that Compel offers and love it! I frequently work with Austin and Kevin so big shout out to them! Austin led my workouts when I first started session and he really helped build a basic level of knowledge which was super helpful as a beginner. Now Kev, he’s my guy! He reaches out if I forget to book my weekly sessions, he understands the need for flexibility and is always willing to work around my child care schedule. He also pushes me physically and I can confidently say that I’m the strongest I’ve ever been because of it!

Compel fitness presented a new way to approach my fitness goals and has continued to assist me in reaching them! So grateful for Kevin, Austin and Conner!!

Compel fitness has changed the way I’ve looked at training in the best way possible. Starting out I had a one on one with Mark and because it was our first encounter he wanted to know my goals and how long I’ve been training for at my previous gym. We talked and he gave me a free class to give me a full experience of what the trainers there offer. After this I later signed up, leading me to the group classes ran by Steven, Austin, and Mason. All three of them offer great training and helpful tips on form and overall technique. I really appreciated this because I know the gym can be a lot and I’ve always been scared to lift heavier or try a new exercise but having them their has offered a sense of security, along with their eagerness to be their and give you the best workout! A little after training with them I stumbled upon the idea of possibly competing and along with this I thought getting a singular trainer session would be better for me, thankfully they offer both group classes and single training sessions. I’ve been doing the one on one training sessions with Kevin and Austin. Both are amazing people who make working out comfortable but push you to your full potential which I really appreciate. I never expected what I could achieve until I started working out with them. I’m very happy for my recent growth in my fitness journey but I owe everything to all of them, their an amazing group of hard workers and I’m happy to be part of a community with them and all the other amazing people from previous classes!

I have been going to compel for over a year now and have worked out with and learned from three trainers so far Dave, Aden and now Kevin I couldn't be happier with my results. My goals and my limits are being pushed and exceeded. I can't say enough about my training very excited and happy. The whole staff is awesome as well I don't know everyone yet but the ones I do know Mark, Connor and Bruce have always when they see me acknowledge me and even at times go out of there way to fist bump and say hey. My experience has been nothing but GREAT!!!. My only regret is I didn't goin them sooner. GREAT JOB GUYS.

I highly recommend Compel Fitness staff/trainers (Kevin, Mark, Aiden, and Mason.) Joining a gym for me was scary and intimidating! Mark helped me set fitness goals and develop a plan to get me there. Since training with Compel more than 2 years ago, I have learned a lot and have been given the push I needed in my training that I wouldn’t have otherwise done on my own. I went to Compel Fitness before COVID started. When COVID came about I was extremely unhappy with how they handled it. First, no longer was the daycare open but then when the gym closed down I still was charged for the entire month. I communicated with Bryanna letting her know that I was not interested in working out from home. That we could continue my membership when the gym was back up but even the next day she was sending me text messages β€œworkout at home, no gym no problem.” Despite the fact I told her it was a problem. When the gym was back up and running I canceled my gym membership and also my compel membership and had to pay a lot of money. All because of how poorly they dealt with the situation. In the beginning of signing up they try to get everyone to post positive feedback and I did but although they have some nice workout coaches they also have a lot they can improve upon. I know this review is way late but better late than never. Hopefully more people will speak the truth.

I really appreciated the compel fitness trainers at Gold’s Gym, both inside the gym and via zoom. The trainers made me feel heard. They gave me a good workout without being too strenuous or feeling my goals were unattainable. They always supported me by pushing me forward. The hours were very flexible which gave me even more reason to schedule my sessions and especially during Covid, I’m very happy that I got a lot of exercise in and learned a lot about what I can do.

Everyone there is very friendly and encouraging. Starting out on setting goals with Brady really helped paint a picture of what I want and where I want to be. It felt good to see that my current status wasn’t as bad as I thought it was. Going over nutrition and workouts with Bryanna was great, especially after she showed me all the good recipes you can try instead of plain chicken and rice meals, which was something I was worried about initially. She helped me navigate the compel fitness app so I could log my workouts, and has been very patient with questions, as well. My first team training session with Devin was challenging, which is ideal in this case. Being able to communicate and be comfortable with going to the gym is very important to me, and the trainers at Gold’s Gym Marley Station make the environment very relaxed, while also pushing you to do your best. Definitely recommend!

Never really given much thought to it all these time, until I was approached by Brady and he convinced me to give it a try, and I’m glad I did. I have been a part of Compel Fitness for close to a month now and I cannot say anything bad about them. Having met with the head trainer for a nutrition plan and workout plan, I go to the gym regularly and I feel confident in what I am doing. Before, I would walk into a gym and be lost. Trainers at Marley Station Compel are phenomenal!! I regularly train with Bry and Devin, and have my check-ins with Patty. The trainers here genuinely care about your goals and well-being; they don't just give you cookie-cutter workouts because someone tells them to. They actively work with your goals (and also your weaknesses, like injuries) and leave you feeling tired and SATISFIED after every workout. And Patty...oh man. She genuinely cares how you're doing. Not just gym-related, but how you're feeling and how your life is going. She's worked with me so much on my meal plans, and I think we've finally found one that's sustainable for me. The program has been tailored to my goals, my needs, and my preferences.

I was having difficulty with my daily activities due to lower back pain. I have to say working with Compel Fitness in a short period of time (a little over a month) I can bend and squat pain free. Also, I lost inches and some body fat in the process. I can't wait to see was yet to come, after accomplishing this.

Devin is really good with communication and how to do workouts he teaches us how we can lose weight or build muscles and that equipments will help u to do it. Patty is really nice so as Eric and luronen and they make u want to motivate urslef. Patty makes u want to come to the gym everyday because of how inspirational she is. Devin lost weight and he wants people to know don’t give up beacsue if he did it everyone can.

Terrible experience, this place is an anarchy, nobody can answer for any issue, if you go to the gym the tell you, you have to call customer service if you call customer service nobody answer you for the issue, so there is no law. The offer you things that they don't give you as the scrip work out, they offer me 1 scrip work out monthly I've been there 5 months and they just gave me 2 scrip works out, if you miss sessions they don't give you sessions back, so ig the contract is 26 sessions and you miss somes forget that will be 26 sessions. They make you follow an app for schedule your work outs and when you go to the session, there is no session. The trainers are good and friendly but the management part it's terrible i never deal in my life with people such an incompetent people.

Everyone is so friendly. I really like what Compel has to offer. All of the trainers with whom I have worked have been great! I work regularly with Brianna Smith on Wednesday nights. She is so great! She wants me to get in shape as much as I do. Most recently I have also worked with Breyanna Kraemer (I'm not sure if I'm spelling that right) She's really nice and positive. I've also worked with Devin on Friday night's a few times. He killed my arms! It was great! He's a sweet young man. He's very positive too. I liked Brie Phillips a lot too but she's gone. I really like that Compel added 8pm semi-private classes. I really like the periodic tape measurements and body fat measurement that is done, especially when the numbers go down! I'm just really happy to be getting healthier and Compel is helping me do that. I've made friends with the others in the classes. It's just been a great experience for me. I think that the semi-private classes are better than one-on-one with a trainer because I can focus on the exercise and I don't have to make small talk because the trainer is busier. Recently I noticed that the trainers are incorporating a better variety of exercises. I'm trying to think of something that could be improved but I can't think of anything. Like I said, I'm just really happy to get healthier and feel better. It's money well-spent. It really is.

Bri was very knowledgeable and really put me on another level of understanding the correct way to workout with posture and form to get the best results for strength training. Even after the 45 minute session was over I continued to feel the burn and contraction of my thigh muscles over the next 3 days and still do now and that tells me she knows exactly what she is doing when instructing me. Had a terrible experience with a compell fitness trainer (Justin) at Golds Glen Burnie. Talked to me like he only cared about making a sale not about actually helping me reach my goal. Talked to me for 45 minutes about my goals, worked out with me for 5 minutes, and wouldn't let me have any time to think about signing up before asking for my credit card info. Wouldn't let me take the paper with the information about signing up for a personal trainer to think on for a night. Told me to call my parents in front of him if thats really all I needed to do to make the sale. Terrible experience and a scam.
