Was in town for a conference and dropped in for 3 days. The communication prior to attending classes was great and the website was easy to navigate as well as to register and pay for the drop in classes. The coach was very kind and the workouts were good. I enjoyed my experience at a different gym and would definitely go back next year during the conference.

I dropped in for Eden's Pride WOD. The coaches put together a challenging workout that could be accomplished by all skill levels. The atmosphere was fun and everyone was very welcoming. I'll definitely be back. :-) Thanks for the workout!

As a travel nurse I have been to many crossfit gyms across the country. I have to say this is the best gym I have ever been to. As someone who does not represent the " look like a crossfitter" most gyms I go to, I am discounted or have to prove that I have any ability. After 12 years of CrossFit it can be slightly embarrassing. I walked into Eden met Nick and took a class and I was hooked. As the owner and coach he is an incredible human and is good at knowing what his athletes need as a push. All the coached Joy, Andrew, Kent, Wyatt, Jesse each have their own way of coaching that gives their all to the community. This group of people will make you stronger and also make you happier as they are so awesome to be around. From the moment you walk in, people want to know what your goals are and how to achieve them. My only goal was to get strong.. and over these three months I am benching for 5 reps 10 lbs more than my one rep used to be. I got stronger, my form is better and I learned new scaling techniques that will help me get closer to movements I canβt do currently. Eden is not just a gym it is a family and I am lucky and forever better because I got to be a part of it.

I plateaued at a HIIT style gym prior to Eden and thought I was in good shape.. this gym, however, will test you mentally and physically and I can say that I have never been in better shape thanks to the coaches and members that push you. I absolutely love going to classes throughout the week!

Joining The Eden was everything I needed to round out my Baltimore stint for grad school. I moved to Baltimore sight unseen from Boston two years prior to embark on a dual Master of Public Health/Master of Business Administration degree program at Hopkins.
Iβve always been an athlete growing up - playing soccer, ice hockey, and lacrosse - but never dabbled at the idea of Cross Fit because quite honestly, it scared me.
I would walk by the open gym doors and think βone day I will try a class.β I joined for the last month of school and it is something I wish I had done the first day of the program.
The team, the space (one of the cleanest Cross Fit gyms ever!), the coaches, the regulars, the drop-ins β everyone makes this place feel like home β even to a girl who had never picked up a barbell before in her life β and I miss it!
I can happily say I have joined a Cross Fit gym back in Boston upon my return all because of The Eden.
Thank you, THANK YOU to all who made me feel comfortable and strong in my own skin. I would highly recommend to all levels - try a class, stay for a while, hit some PRs, or just find new friends that care about fitness.

I started at Eden about a month ago, I had zero CrossFit experience prior to joining. The coaches are super kind, helpful & will answer any questions that you have. Honestly I have loved every workout, it really does feel like a community and the members are just as nice as the coaches. It is overall a great gym with a great, positive, learning atmosphere. Huge fan.

After dealing with health concerns and having moved to a new state, I decided on this gym a try as I like to support small businesses and was looking for a community. Shortly after a few classes, I signed up for the membership. Still in the process of working with health professionals, I found out that my health concerns were directly affecting my fertility. I reached out to the owner about cancelling, as HIIT workouts were exacerbating these issues, and received very little, if any, help. I mentioned that I could provide a medical note and was told "We'll see what we can do" and that was the end of the conversation. Fast-forward from September to now and I was still being charged late fees on top of a membership that I physically could not use and had made it very clear in several conversations. I even made an effort to be transparent about the cost of medical and fertility treatments only to be met with something akin to "Well the balance is still due." Shortly after, I was being threatened with sending a bill to collections.
There are no exceptions in their contract for inability to participate due to medical issues, nor is there any mention of cancelling in the event of moving. I prefer small businesses because I like to support local and they usually tend to possess more humanity than chains. Case in point, I supported a small crossfit gym before I moved to the area. Prior to starting, I had torn my achilles. I tore it again, not while frequenting the gym. My membership was cancelled, no questions asked. Once I was healed, I began back at that same gym because I was proud to be apart of an establishment with compassion, humanity, trust and above all a sense of integrity.
This establishment has not fit that trend. Had this situation happened with a large chain, I'm sure the paperwork would have been annoying but I'm pretty positive that my issues would have been met with clear and concise recourse for the situation instead of a "We'll see what we can do."
**EDITED** Worst of all you decided to respond to my review, lying and saying that I made rude and inappropriate comments to staff all the while simultaneously lying about our exchanges. Providing services for free would mean that I was attending and not paying and it can be easily verified when I stopped attending. If the solution was simply providing documentation, we wouldn't be here. I'm not some entitled, incessant consumer that would even utter "I shouldn't have to". Moreover, the only phone contact I have ever had with employees of your gym has been with you and you alone; call logs can easily be verified as can message threads can be shown. It's quite sad and wildly indicative of your character that you would respond in such an insidious manner to somehow save face. How gross.
I reference your lack of exemption for moving out of state because you were also informed that I no longer lived in the vicinity of the gym. This can be easily verified in a photo to be attached momentarily. You response was that I still have X amount of time in my contract. The fact that you are lying is evidence enough that you know your policy is unfair and unjust. Otherwise, you would have just stated your policy. It was a simple courtesy you chose not to extend so you chose to lie when I gave a review of my experience. I paid and settled my account with you today and you still chose to say such horrible things. In that way, and others, you have acted in a way that is unbecoming of a small business owner.

Couldnβt ask for better people making sure Iβm doing the correct movements to ensure I didnβt hurt myself. And the results?!?! Dropped in for a class while visiting Baltimore for an anniversary getaway. Nick was there to greet me and took time out of his workout to show me around the facility (which is top notch). Then, coach Ryan made sure I had everything I needed to have a great workout. Lastly, the members were awesome and treated me as if they knew me all along. If I lived in the area, Iβd be a proud member of this affiliate. Iβll definitely come back for drop ins when Iβm in town. Thanks to Nick and Ryan for being awesome!

I never loved going to the gym, but I do now that I go to Eden. Everyone is so positive and encouraging. Even as a newbie to Crossfit I never feel out of place or silly. I'm seeing (and feeling) results faster than I expected but honestly that's not the thing that keeps me coming back - it's the people. I love Eden. I'd give 6 stars if I could.

Eden Crossfit is a fantastic gym! All of the coaches are very knowledgeable, friendly, and strive to make every class an excellent workout. Eden offers personalized 1 on 1 training and group classes. I started with the 1 on 1 coaching and found it extremely beneficial and it assisted me with getting comfortable with the fundamentals. Gym members encourage each other and there are no egos. All are welcome regardless of fitness experience. Highly recommend Eden!

I was in town for a couple of weeks and was looking for a nearby Crossfit gym that I could attend before work, and I found the best one in Fells Point! The gym is located just minutes away from many hotels and the Inner Harbour. The workouts are great, but the people are better! The coaches are highly knowledgeable and are always willing to help. Even though I was only in for a couple weeks, I instantly felt the community vibe and the positive, welcoming space the gym created. I highly recommend coming to the gym for a great sweat and to meet some truly fantastic people!!

Amazing facility for an amazing neighborhood. The functional fitness space Harbor East deserves!!!
I wanted to update this review to reflect the new ownership. I belonged to this gym for nearly 3 years when it was under different management. Unfortunately, it was never really able to establish an identity and drifted into a collection of folks doing their own thing. The equipment was both limited and kinda broken down. Most importantly, there was not as sense of community. While the pandemic was obviously not a positive, the gym changed ownership during that time and has now reopened as Eden. Had a chance to do Murph there and was very impressed. The space is beautiful with lots of new, top of the line equipment. The coaches were engaging and professional. Most importantly, the community was welcoming and supportive. The space is welcoming of all fitness levels, body, and ability types. I have several friends who stayed with the transition and report a great and improved experience.

I was visiting Baltimore over Memorial Day Weekend 2019. I dropped in twice for morning class. I thought the Box was very clean and well organized. The coach, (Kevin? sorry if that is wrong) was knowledgable. The other members were friendly and welcoming. I had a good workout and will return anytime I am visiting my daughter. I have also been to the Federal Hill Crossfit. This was a few years ago. I found that also a nice place. It is my understanding they are owned by the same people. I've never been a part of a gym that realizes when I'm gone for a few days and reaches out to make sure I'm ok and to let me know they miss me. Until I joined CrossFit Harbor East. This gym is fantastic. I recently dropped in and before I arrived I traded emails with Nicole. She was so excited to have us. She even emailed me to explain how Friday night lights would work with Open Workout 19.1. When we arrived, Geo greeted us with a big smile. We felt right at home instantly. The facility is top notch and the coaches were warm & friendly. They lead by example. I have been doing Crossfit for 6+ years and one of the things Iβve come to love about it is the community. There is no where else Iβve been that has the type of atmosphere that Harbor East has. Truly a pleasure to meet the staff and throw down with everyone. Best Crossfit gym in the entire area, no competition. I started Crossfit at this Gym a year ago and it made a huge difference in my strength and physical capabilities. All of the coaches are very knowledgeable and skilled, and most of all great teachers. Geo has done a really good job of selecting great people to work with him at this box and the quality of it shows with every class. I've been doing Crossfit ever since I left the area and the training I received at CF HE has allowed me to be competitive at every box that I have been to, after being a complete beginner when I first showed up. Thanks Geo, Nicole, & co! You guys are awesome people. Keep it up!

I started doing CrossFit with Industry Athletics about 5 years ago. When I started, I didnβt know the first thing about lifting, let alone what a WOD or AMRAP was. Geo (owner) and his coaches do a world class job at teaching fundamentals of Xfit and welcoming everyone to the community. No matter what level of shape youβre in or athletic experience, the coaches at Industry Athletics will work with you to learn the ins and outs of proper lifting technique, and to ensure you stay safe while working out. Geo has two gyms, one over in Fed Hill and one in Harbor East. Both offer world class facilities, led by general manager Davidson at FH and Nicole at HE. If youβre looking to sweat with a group of people who are passionate about CrossFit, Industry Athletics is the place for you.

This place is awesome! I travel to Baltimore for work most weeks and a few people from work convinced me to give this a try. I was pretty nervous and definitely intimidated since I had never done Crossfit, or really lifted weights like this before. When the class and the instructor (Hugh) learned it was my first time they were so excited for me and so motivating. They were all very patient with me and took the time to explain the proper form and make sure I was doing all of the moves correctly. The class ended up being a blast, I felt so challenged but so powerful. The sense of community here is great and I felt welcomed even after my first drop in. I will definitely be returning, and dragging some more people from work with me!

Friendly Staff, welcoming environment. Like any CrossFit box, the culture is largely determined by the members and the staff. I've found the HE location to be filled with kind, welcoming, and supportive members who cheer you on no matter how slow you're moving or now little you're lifting. The top 4 things you need to know about Crossfit Harbor East (CFHE):
1. NEW Look: Fall 2017 the facility was rebranded, and is now under new management. The new Owner Geo Rockwell also owns Crossfit Federal Hill on Key Highway. He has poured his heart & soul into making both locations special, and in helping to build CFHE back up. He deeply cares for his communities.
2. Life Long Friends: The people you meet at this location are those that once they get a hold of you, will never let go. They care about not only how your WOD went, but they care about your day, your relationships, your homework... etc. If you like to keep your gym life and social life separate, this might not be the place for you. But if you love being on a team, having a second family, and seeing people occasionally in non-workout clothes outside of the box- welcome to CFHE!
3. The Coaches: Geo invests in his coaches and makes sure that each & everyone of them is continuing their education so that they can provide the best cues, progressions, warm ups, and cool downs possible. He frequently offers feedback to each coach on how to take their class to the next level and so that he can ensure every member has a positive and fulfilling class experience regardless of whose coaching.
4. Classes: CFHE offers both Crossfit & Drive Classes (30-45 min boot camp style class with a crossfit interval approach), as well as a barbell club twice a week. Crossfit & Drive are included in a regular membership, while barbell club is extra BUT worth it! The class is taught by 2 very experienced coaches, one of whom has qualified twice for USA Weightlifting Nationals. Geo is always looking to use his coaches strengths & talents to develop new class offerings.

I've been a member at CrossFit Federal Hill for over 3 years now and I jumped out of my shoes when I found out that they were going to be taking over and breathing new life into CrossFit Harbor East which is conveniently right across from my office. The programming, coaching and community at both gyms is the best you're going to find in the Baltimore area and frankly one of the best I've seen at any other CrossFit gym I've dropped into around the country. I highly recommend checking out CrossFit Harbor East, especially if you were on the fence or didn't want to travel all the way to Crossfit Federal Hill from across the city before.

I am a former member that came back since the new management took ownership and this place did a 180 degrees turn and now rocks! The place is amazing and the coaching is even better, I spend here 5+ hours a week and couldn't be happier, this is certainly the best part of my day!

Ignore the bad reviews, this place is making a comeback. As a member of CFHE since early 2014, I witnessed first hand the downward spiral of a once bustling community. After an injury caused me to cancel my membership in early 2017, I decided that I would not return. In May of 2017, I joined Crossfit Federal Hill, and immediately realized what I had been missing out on for so long. The owner, Geo Rockwell, had created a Crossfit community that could be held as the standard of "how things should be". The programming, facility, coaching, and community are the best I have ever experienced at a Crossfit box. I immediately knew that Geo had the formula for a successful place to train.
In Sept 2017 Geo purchased CFHE, and with that, brought the same standards of success and excellence with him. I switched from the Federal Hill location back to Harbor East, and haven't looked back. The community is young, but it is growing; however the standard of success that Crossfit Federal Hill has experienced for so long is now the standard in Harbor East. This place is under new management, and the change has been nothing short of miraculous.

Same name but newly upgraded with a stellar new owner, sharp new look, shiny new equipment, and the aunthentic community atmosphere of crossfit. Geo Rockwell, owner of crossfit federal hill, has done a complete flip of not just the space at harbor east but also the behind the scenes runnings of the business side as well.
Whether you have been to this space previously or not it is worth your time to drop in and see for yourself!!

Heard the news that Geo from CrossFit Federal Hill has taken ownership of Harbor East!! Great news for the members and community there! I used to belong to CrossFit Federal Hill shortly after they opened and watched as the gym grew and became an amazing community! Only reason I am no longer there is I moved out of state, but was definitely upset to leave CFH. I can't wait to visit Baltimore again and see what Geo does. This gyms new face lift and ownership will be completely changing these reviews. Good luck Geo!!

Time to give this place a second chance for everyone who has been shafted in the past. It was acquired by the great team at Crossfit Fed Hill which is the best box in town. Geo has some big plans so hopefully this primo location takes off

TL;DR -- Avoid this place if you don't like getting a run around. If you're planning to drop in there during travel, note that their open gym hours are by keycode access only given to members, NOT DROP INS, despite their website saying nothing about it.
I had almost the exact same experience as Joel Martin's review, right down to the being "referred to the billing team," and the double charge; except when I mentioned the double charge they told me I was wrong.
I emailed them a week before my trip and SPECIFICALLY mentioned their Saturday/Sunday open gym hours, which their website shows to run almost all day (until 8ish pm). Their reply said to just fill out the waiver and come in and train.
When I got there on Saturday evening about 5pm, the doors were locked and lights were off. Sunday, the person I was traveling with who also did the online waiver, went to go try training again. Again, door locked. But this time there were people inside who let him in so he was able to train (I was working). In speaking with a couple members that were there, my friend was told that the owners/managers aren't exactly easy to work with.
Fast forward to when I've returned home from my trip, after never having been able to train, and nobody answering their listed phone number, I look at my bank statements from the trip and see I was charged twice. I emailed them about how they were closed and I couldn't use the fee I paid, and that I was charged twice. A couple days later the reply I got was that the open gym hours are for normal members only and not valid for drop ins. Remember, I specifically mentioned the open gym hours in my very first email and nothing was said to me. In addition, NOWHERE on their website does it state this. To the contrary, it says drop-ins can attend "ANY" (their caps) class. In their reply, they also told me that they checked their system and I was not charged twice. Apparently my bank statement lied to me? Also said they'd refer my refund to the "billing department."
It's now 18 days after I've returned from my trip, and they still haven't resolved the issue for me, even with the 2 reminder emails I've sent (which went unanswered), which included a screen capture of my bank account showing a double charge. I've now had to bring my bank into the mix in order to dispute the charges, which they're luckily happy to do.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Charged me for an extra month. I emailed numerous times and they still refuse to refund me. They even admitted fault but no refund months later. Stay away. You do NOT want to get involved with shady businesses. And this is one of them,
Also very impersonal and not friendly to all levels. Some coaches are great though, but many do not care at all about you especially if you are beginner or intermediate.

Avoid this gym at all costs. In my 5-year experience of CrossFit this is one of the worst gyms I have dealt with. I was in town for work and contacted them to drop in for open gym. I emailed to ask if there were any open gym times and the response was βYes, if you've sign up for open gym then you can come anytime you want.β I had to sign up online and pay a $20 drop in fee then I go there, no one is there, and the gym is locked. They have a phone number but no one seems to answer when you call. So I email and the response I get is a link to the class schedule. I then asked for a refund and I got a BS response that they would forward my request to their βbilling teamβ, which for a gym this size (run by a few people) the billing team would be the incompetent individual (Michelle Parker) that I was emailing. I then look at my credit card summary and they billed me twice for the drop in. I was able to get a refund by working with my credit card company in the end.
If you are thinking of joining or dropping into a gym in the Baltimore area do yourself a favor and go to any other gym than this one. There are many other gyms in the area so there is no need to waste your time and money dealing with this one. Furthermore, if you are thinking of starting CrossFit make sure to try a few and look at the credentials of the coaches. The certification for becoming a CrossFit trainer only requires you to go to a weekend workshop. The gold standard certification for working in the strength and conditioning is the NSCA CSCS (National Strength and Conditoning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) certification. This requires a 4 year degree in an exercise science related field and the certification exam is rigorous with ~60-70% pass rate, compared to 99% pass rate for the CrossFit certification. If you look on their website none of the coaches credentials are listed which most likely means they only have the CrossFit certification. With the technical lifts and intense workouts that characterize CrossFit you want to make sure you join a gym with knowledgeable coaches who are capable of modifying movements and workouts to keep you safe. Based on my dealing with this gym they canβt even handle something simple like coordinating someone drop in so good luck if you expect them to be able to teach you how to snatch. Avoid this gym at all costs.
