A bunch of great people getting together throwing in for a personal trainer and pushing each other. Makes for a great community! Crossfit Pax was exactly what I needed after not working out for years. Do it!

Joining CrossFit PAX was one of the best things I ever did! My daughter had been trying to get me to join, but I thought there was no way I could do it! I thought it was only for young, athletic people. I had tried other gyms but hated it. I decided to give CrossFit a try. I found out the coaches help you every step of the way. Everything can be modified to your ability/strength level! The staff & other members are so encouraging. CrossFit really is for everybody!

CrossFit PAX is an excellent gym, with a great community, and top-tier staff!
I'd always been skeptical about crossfit. I've heard it described as "like regular fitness without any of the technique or safety" and seen my share of crossfit fail videos, so when I joined the fundamentals course at my wife's behest, I had my reservations.
But Mike Wallace and his team take the sport seriously, and create an environment and culture that focuses on good technique, safety, as well as working hard and achieving goals.
Current and former military service members on the coaching staff mean there's a lot of expertise on safely pushing limits, quality of movement, and injury prevention.
Danny, our coach for the fundamentals course, was phenomenal. He could break down and demonstrate complex concepts in a way that was easy to understand for complete fitness beginners, and could also get into the weeds and discuss detailed physiology and anatomy for refining technique at advanced levels.
The (required) initial assessment and fundamentals course ensures members have a solid understanding how to perform the exercises they'll encounter, and how to regress movements as needed to match their ability levels. This gives new starters a great level of confidence before jumping into the main workouts.
This isn't a shiny, purple, Planet Fitness. The bars have spots where the chrome is worn off, the plates and kettlebells are dented and scratched, and the air smells like chalk and metal. The equipment here gets used, because members keep coming back and working hard! They've built a great community here, where staff and members remember you and know your name.
All in all, if you're looking to improve your fitness, confidence, and finding a solid community, as well as support a locally-owned and operated business, I strongly recommend checking out CrossFIT Pax!

Good equipment, clean, great coaching, effective wods! CF PAX is a great crossfit gym particularly for new people. They have tailored warmups and thorough explanations prior to anything done in a workout. Their Sunday Oly class was particularly knowledgeable and provided great snatch coaching for someone with 13 years of doing CrossFit.
The only downside was admin. I was there for a month so I signed up for a 1 month membership. I had to sign 3 liability waivers, provide payment information multiple times, had a week delay getting access to wods/reservations, and the 0500 class cancelled one of the weeks I was there after the class showed available on zen planner and I reserved the day prior. I’ll still give 4 stars because the owner was fairly responsive to help solving issues.

CrossFit Pax is great! CrossFit has been the best move for my fitness goals. The workouts are tough but good, coaching is amazing and the community is so welcoming and supportive. I highly recommend CrossFit for those who need help with accountability, transitioning from team sports to a gym, don’t quite know how to workout or need a support system during their workouts. It’s a fun way to push yourself physically. 10/10

First CrossFit gym and CrossFit experience was at CrossFit PAX. Loved it from the start! Everyone is always warm and welcoming and committed to your fitness. Facility and pricing is great compared to other CrossFit gyms I’ve been a member of since, and that’s 3 others due to moves.

I was a high school and collegiate swimmer, and got very used to having someone write my workouts and tell me what to do. I’ve completed two Ironman triathlons where I wrote my own workout plan and stuck to it, but honestly, found it difficult to be motivated on my own. I’ve found that I need to find a gym AND a workout plan that suits my needs and helps me to stay fit.
CrossFit Pax is seriously one of the best values for your money, which is why I keep paying my monthly membership. Not only does someone else write the workout (so all you need to do is show up), but the coaches are invested in each person and get to know you as an individual. The workouts are challenging and can be modified to any skill level, and the coaches help you to ensure you do each movement appropriately and safely. Honestly, the monthly cost is not only for a gym membership, but also for a trainer (I hesitate to say “personal” trainer, but essentially that’s how it feels).
What keeps me coming back, though, is CrossFit Pax has the best community around! You wind up seeing and getting to know the same people and you become like family. If you’re struggling in a workout, it doesn’t matter if you’ve been to hundreds of classes or if it’s your first one, the community rallies around you and cheers you on; that’s the amazing community and culture you’ll find at CrossFit Pax.
They’re also a family-friendly atmosphere. I have two children, and one of them usually comes to the gym with me. The gym has a kid area where the kids can play in a safe, controlled, visible area. When my kids decide to venture out of the area, I also bring a little table to keep them from running around and the coaches have no problem with them being on the floor with me. Honestly it’s something I wouldn’t be able to find at another gym!
The cost, the CrossFit name (and perceived “meathead” culture), and just a new gym might seem intimidating, but give it a try (there are free introductory classes on Saturdays) and I promise you will find a gym and community you also want to be a part of!

If you're tired of your same old gym routine, looking to start your fitness/health journey or just looking to push yourself out of your comfort zone this is the place! Great fun motivating atmosphere. If you're a parent they also have a kids room you can utilize at no additional cost.

I joined CrossFit PAX a couple months ago, and I am loving it so far!! It’s awesome community with the best coaches, who are friendly, approachable, and genuinely care about your fitness goals. The workouts are challenging and are always different and scalable. They offer multiple classes per day and open gym hours, so it is great for someone with a busy work schedule. I used to be intimidated to try different things at my previous gym, but CrossFit PAX is great for all fitness levels- even beginners with little to no weightlifting experience. CrossFit PAX is seriously the best gym, and I cannot recommend it enough!

CrossFit gets a bad reputation, but this gym will completely change your mind. All it really is is a bunch of normal people of all ages (even 70 years old!) who enjoy getting together exercising to the best of their ability. No one is ever going to make you feel uncomfortable because you can't do x,y,z, but instead encourage you to work hard and try your best to get there! It's really a wonderful community 😊
The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly as well. They will watch you at all times to make sure you won't hurt yourself while giving you the feedback you need to keep improving.
Personally I love this gym and have every intention of being a member here for years to come!

I have always worked out by myself and have not been a huge fan of group workouts until I moved to Maryland. Crossfit was recommended by one of my peers about 5 years ago and of course I drank the koolaid and got hooked. I have been a member at Pax a couple of times and enjoy the community and the workouts. It challenges you to step outside your comfort zone and you walk away feeling proud of your accomplishments. There is a camaraderie among the group members and the coaches push you safely and are knowledgeable about technique and form. As a larger size athlete it is not always easy to be comfortable in a gym environment but Pax welcomes people of all sizes and skill level.

Great coaches who are very patient with newcomers like me. It’s hard to teach old dogs new tricks but I’m getting there thanks to them. Adam, Kristin and Nubia are all terrific! I’m still new but I feel my mobility is improving. The athletes are all very friendly and helpful too.

I’ve been to several CrossFit gyms since I started CrossFit in 2019, and CrossFit PAX is by far my favorite. The coaches are knowledgeable and helpful, the space is clean but still gives you the CrossFit feel, but it’s the community that stands out the most. I was a new mom when I started at this gym after the pandemic, and I was really looking for a place I felt comfortable and could fit. The people are what sets this gym apart.

Crossfit Pax is a top-notch Crossfit gym. The owner and coaches are smart, knowledgeable and welcoming. They always accommodate the full spectrum of ages and abilities while providing outstanding instruction. If you’re on the fence about joining, don’t be. Every exercise can be scaled down (mine usually are) but they’ll always be challenging, fun, and rewarding!
Don't worry about your current abilities or fitness. The only person you’ll be competing with is yourself!

This gym has been my first experience with CrossFit and what an experience it's been! When I decided to get serious about my health I didn't want guesswork anymore. I had tried so many plans, routines, equipment, gym memberships etc.. nothing was working.
After coming too CrossFit PAX all the guess work was removed. I had a great new workout waiting for me each day as well as a group of people to encourage me who have become my friends.
CrossFit makes a huge difference in getting results because you have professionals guiding you and setting you up for success. Similarly, the group aspect makes it much easier to get going and give it your all.
I highly recommend CrossFit PAX to anyone looking to improve their fitness, make new friends, and achieve your goals!

Every Crossfit affiliate should be graded on two things. 1. How are the coaches? 2. How is the community?
The coaches at CrossFit Pax are attentive and concerned with teaching proper form and also with scaling the workout to challenge you safely. They will encourage you to push yourself but will also monitor you to avoid injury.
The community at CrossFit Pax is welcoming and not at all cliquish. I felt like I belonged from the very first workout. I can’t say enough about the good people here.

Best decision I made eight plus years ago while looking to up my fitness game. As an older athlete (60+) most would think CrossFit outside their comfort zone because most social media postings depict young, strong incredibly fit athletes. But inside the doors of CrossFit Pax I found a community of great athletes of all ages and and coaches who are supportive of YOUR fitness goals. The CrossFit Pax coaches are always available to encourage, guide and inspire. There are many class times to choose from whatever your schedule and the gym is kept orderly and clean.
