EDIT 10/2025: unfortunately their membership increased from $25/month to $40, which is a dealbreaker for me. I consider crunch a step above planet fitness, so 40 is pushing it, especially considering how packed it is on the weekdays. ended up switching to LA for cheaper.

I've been going to Crunch since the day it opened. I'd give this a 3.5 if I could, but I'll round up to be nice.
I'm a frugal gym girl so this is def the best deal for a solid gym in the area. think of it like a step above planet fitness bc it actually has squat racks.

PROS:
- The employees are super nice! I've gotten to know a few of them pretty well and I always enjoy talking to them
- 5 squat racks -- usually this is enough and I won't have to wait long (or at all) to use one. other gyms in the area (Golds, LA) only have a few, so I'm cool with 5.
- Good variety of machines
- Relatively cheap, and they have a deal where you can bring a guest for free every Monday
- Pretty empty on the weekends, regardless of time of day
- Parking is usually not an issue

CONS:
- Their HVAC is.. special. last summer their AC was broken for at least a month (maybe 2? I literally stopped going), and regardless of the time of year, it's just always hot in there. The central part of the gym is ok (maybe 74-75 degrees), but the squat rack area (where I spend most of my time) is probably 78-79. the only place that's properly cool is the bathroom lmao
- Speaking of bathrooms, they're pretty gross. they're frequently out of toilet paper (the other day, EVERY stall was out), I've seen unflushed poop multiple times (???), and the women's bathroom hasn't had paper towels for the past like 6 months. the gym cleanliness overall is pretty bad -- I know the employees are doing their best but they're clearly short staffed on cleaners.
- Crowds -- this is pretty much unavoidable at any commercial gym, but omg I'm just glad I get off work by 3:30 cause this gym past 5pm?? insanity. pretty much every machine is taken, there's a line for the squat racks and it's crawling with frat boys. the parking garage can actually get full at around 7pm. so yeah, go before 5pm on weekdays.

Overall I still recommend Crunch to my friends. the heat and lack of cleanliness is something I can look past considering how good of a deal it is haha

I liked the gym at the beginning but I can't believe the AC is not working yet and it's dirty. I go in the morning at 8am, the area where I worked out was very dirty and close to the entrance of the gym too. It's a nice gym but o don't think management is taking care of it sadly.
07/04. It's been possible a year since my last review and the AC is still not working. What's going on? I didn't pay for hot yoga 🥵
This is funny. One year later and still with AC issues. Today the temperature is 80 inside. Please fix it.

Gym it self is great, my personal trainer is great! But the only reason they get a one star is due to their AC that doesn’t seem to be on or even working it’s freaking ridiculous. Yes you want to sweat at the gym but the lack of AC has me taking my gym membership some place else. My fitness classes are great but I almost die everytime due to the lack of AC. Do better Crunch even after all the complaints on the reviews about the AC.

This place is run by big-time scammers. My girlfriend signed up for their membership and was told that it was going to be a month-to-month basis.

They quickly started charging her for one month in advance, without her authorization. She is a college student and did not have the money in her account for their unauthorized charges.

When she attempted to resolve the issue with staff, they constantly gave her the runaround. When she did find someone to talk to, they (classic) blamed someone else and assured her that it would be resolved; it was not and the advance charges continued.

She ended up filing a complaint with her bank to claw back the unauthorized charges (that case is still pending, btw) and had to change her account info to stop the illegal charges.

Now these jokers are taking her to collections - PFT!

Stay away from this place if you want to keep your peace, sanity, and moolah.

I came in to Crunch Fitness College Park location and I immediately felt very welcomed by the fantastic front desk staff. It was a great experience and I highly recommend this location. Also, the general manager, Brooke, is super friendly and made it a point to make sure all my questions were answered. This is definitely the gym to be a part of if you are in the College Park area.

This Crunch location is pretty good! It’s always best to come early morning or during the day.

The gym is a 10 but I have to say that the cleanliness is a 4. The floor and the machines are full of dust when I enter this place my allergies are triggered to the roof, you cannot exercise without thinking about parking because you only have 2 hours of permission. I was off from work the week i visited and all the time was crowded it didn’t matter the time. I should’ve listen to the reviews before joining. I took the time to take pictures but it does not matter anymore I will be canceling.

My friends and I come to this gym and this is absolutely unacceptable. I spoke to an employee, and I was told that they also addressed these unsanitary concerns to their manager, and all the Manager said was that they are low on staff for cleaning. Respectfully, I don’t care because we pay our hard earned money to come to this gym and the fact that it’s this dirty is crazy. Those trash bags have been sitting there for three days in a row now that’s disgusting. On top of that, there’s no corporate number or any higher number that you can contact besides just the local gym number which is disappointing. If the manager can’t step up to resolve these issues how is anything ever going to be fixed. Also how are people to supposed to wash their hands if there’s no soap and the soap dispensers are BROKEN. Like what. That’s just foul. Atleast restock the toilet paper and the paper towels around the facility!! It’s very annoying!

I’m only giving a 2 star because the bathrooms are always messy, and the toilets are always dirty after 6pm and on weekends. I’ve seen the same 💩 stain for a couple of weeks now and somehow they always run out of toilet paper.

2ND review this place is a potentially a decent gym but honestly the bathroom cleanliness is HORRIBLE the sinks has mold on the handles & the women’s bathroom toilets are never cleaned properly there’s always poop residue and NEVER is there toilet paper in more than 1 stall & they also gave PEE stains they cleaning was better when they first opened and had an older gentleman man doing it now it’s a Middle aged guy and doesn’t do any cleaning

It’s what you’ll get from a $30/month gym.

Pros:
- friendly staff
- great fitness class instructors
- good range of equipment

Cons:
- bathrooms are often not clean
- water fountain bottle refiller was broken for at least 6 months (is finally fixed now though)
- small amount of parking. During peak hours you often cannot get a spot, the garage has maybe 40 spots for an entire (though small) commerce area in a busy part of the city
- small moveable fans are broken, the large ceiling fans are only sometimes running, and even in 100° weather it seems like they treat A/C as optional. Cardio machines do not have fans built in. I am constantly sweating and uncomfortably warm here, even in the winter time.
- Paper towels for cleaning machines frequently out of stock
- Ripped padding on some machines
- Sound from cycling room carries over very loudly into the fitness studio room, making the meditation part of the Monday evening yoga uncomfortable

I’ve been going here for about a year now, and am disappointed in how it has been maintained, as well as a lack of good planning for infrastructure when it was built. I still go because it is close and the only affordable (non planet fitness) public gym in the area. I am often frustrated by the things listed above, but keep coming because of a lack of other options nearby, and for the fun fitness classes. I just wish management paid more attention to it instead of letting it be a bare-minimum cash cow. I doubt they’ll ever struggle for business because of the rotating influx of college students in the area (who choose this gym over the school gym Eppley, as Eppley is over a mile away from this area of student living), and from others like myself who don’t have much other options in college park.

I am leaving this review in part because I have been thinking of doing so, and also in part because you can get a free drink from the cooler for leaving a review. This location offers a lot of free things for leaving reviews, so take that into consideration when reading the reviews.

I canceled my membership months ago but crunch fitness keeps changing their name in the billing department to charge my account. I keep blocking them from charging my account but all they do is change their name for example Crunch College Park to Crunch Colle College Park MD!!! THIS IS ILLEGAL! I'm looking at my bank statements now, there are 4 different names they've change to just to avoid the block my bank has on them.
Am I the only one this keeps happening to, this can turn into a civil lawsuit!!!

I had a quick tour of this location after debating between Crunch College Park and the Golds Gym down the block. During the tour I noted the messiness and facilities not being clean. Along with the disheveled nature of the equipment and the lack of cleaning spray bottles and paper towels but assumed it was because it was late afternoon. However, after reading recent comments from gym members I am well aware that it’s just how this location is and that is sad. Be leery and vigilant.
