About the Club

Founded in 1988 by Donna Grim, Dance Unlimited has offered quality dance instruction to students of all ages and all skill levels. Whether dancing for fun or with plans to pursue a career in the arts, your child will learn the proper technique, build confidence, and gain an appreciation for dance as an art form as a student of Dance Unlimited. We have more than 70 classes per week, with something to suit every interest and skill level, from dance classes for toddlers all the way to classes for adults. But dancing isn't all that we do. DU also offers acting classes and voice lessons for all ages. Through regular classes and periodic performance opportunities, our dancers learn and grow as people and as performers.

We are thrilled to be starting our fourth year at Dance Unlimited, and we absolutely love this studio! It has truly been a place of immense growth and self-confidence for our daughter. She has found a wonderful community of friends right in her classes.

The dedicated teachers are excellent—they genuinely know how to push her outside her comfort zone and encourage her to try harder, ensuring she continues to develop her skills. We really appreciate how they suggest different class styles to promote well-rounded growth.

The studio also offers fantastic additional opportunities like special performances and solos. Finally, the parent-student dance at the end of the season is such a highlight! It’s a precious chance to live in their world for a moment and celebrate what they love.

Highly, highly recommend for any parent looking for a supportive yet challenging dance home.

Dance Unlimited's adult programming is fantastic! As a former competition kid who is now returning to dance as a 30-something year old, the variety of styles and difficulty levels offered for adults is really amazing. This will be my second year with the studio, and I knew by last year's recital that I would be taking more classes because of how positive the experience has been both physically and mentally. I really love the structure of the year with a series of small showcases during the winter and a large recital (at the Weinberg!) in the spring. It allows for the opportunity to learn two distinct routines through the course of the year. Tuition is reasonable and discounts are offered for more classes which is great! Overall, 100% recommend for any adults looking to take class or expand their dance experience!

Dance Unlimited has become a 2nd home for my daughters. The quality instruction by their outstanding team of instructors has guided & challenged my girls allowing them to develop & strengthen strong dance technique, artistry all while encouraging them to work toward goals & overcome obstacles. Additionally, the life skills my daughters have found within the walls of DU like time management, dedication & the value of hard work is immeasurable. The joy on their faces while they dance says it all and we look forward to many more years ahead!

I don’t usually write reviews, but my experience with Dance Unlimited is worth one. This is more of a testimonial about the impact that the studio has had on us since my daughter started dancing there, and I find it pertinent to share it. I came across this wonderful dance studio six years ago while strolling around the neighborhood and decided to enroll my little one in a summer camp; she was just an excited three-year-old at the time, hoping to be a ballerina. But it became more than that, and we’ve been with them ever since. During this time, she has had the chance to learn, grow, and develop the technique required not only to be a great dancer but also a great performer, thanks to the guidance and true dedication of her teachers who have helped her build her confidence and pursue her dreams while she laughs and forges bonds that have become true friendships. Teachers, parents, and students help each other and create memories together, making Dance Unlimited a family-oriented dance studio where your voice is heard and your questions are answered (and trust me, no one asks more questions than I do). It is wonderful to see my little precious achieve so much. It is wonderful to be part of Dance Unlimited—our second home.

Their system of booking and scheduling doesn't make sense and is unnecessarily complicated.

This place is magical!!! My daughter started dancing here years ago and the staff, parents, volunteers, other dancers are the reason she keeps coming back. Everyone...and I mean everyone... is very helpful, very knowledgeable, very patient to make sure all new students.... and parents... feel like they are family. The instructors/teachers are extremely professional and from my experience... know how to build up the confidence in every student. It has been an amazing thing to witness personally. Older students will take time with the younger kids to show them the best way to accomplish a certain task. It really makes moms... and dads... feel like a big family. Love this place and plan on coming back as long as my daughter let me...lol

Worst place for col...d kids. Was here few years ago and felt the same way. So not much changed. The lady at the front desk grabbed my kid and pulled her out of the class because we were 2 minutes late. Sickening... last day here.

My daughter was registered for summer camp, but do to an unseen, severe illness, she was only able to attend the first day and a half of camp. I spoke with the theatre director, who spoke with management, and was told if I provided a note from my daughter's doctor stating that she was unable to attend camp, we would be issued a refund. I provided the note 3 weeks ago, have left several messages with no response, and have yet to receive the refund. I would not recommend this establishment at all. If our payment was not made by the last day of the month, we had to pay a $20 late fee, but they have made us wait almost a month for a simple refund. Not cool.

My daughter has been a student at Dance Unlimited for over 10 years. She was a member of both the Mini Co and the Repertory Co. This was the absolute best experience ever for my daughter being apart of both companies. She learned so much about herself, dance, performing, teamwork, attention to details, and dedication.
Dance Unlimited helped to developed her as a dancer, actress and overall performer. She would not be the amazing dancer she is today had she not received her technical training from the skilled and dedicated staff at Dance Unlimited. The director and the entire staff are dedicated to the Arts and they do NOT take their job lightly and for that I'm grateful.
Amazing place to train and develop young dancers.

As a former student of Dance Unlimited (10 years in the company and 13 years at the studio), I am thankful everyday for the stellar pre-professional training I received under the careful watch of Donna Grim. Not only did I gain invaluable technique training from Donna and other fabulous teachers (namely Ms. Gayle-- the resident Ballet guru), I also learned how be a compassionate, team-oriented and driven person in the world. Yes, the classes are challenging. Yes, hard life lessons are learned on the dance floor, but I wouldn't trade my years with Donna for anything. I was encouraged to cultivate a passion for dance at Dance Unlimited that has stayed with me my entire life. The community that is created by Donna and the other teachers is one that is irreplaceable. I still keep in touch with many of my former team mates and their parents! My training at DU has paid off-- as I am now a professional in the musical theater industry-- represented by a great NYC agency and working in regional theaters around the country. Dance Unlimited is a save haven for those who love to dance and want to get themselves to the next level both personally and technically!

If you are looking for a triple threat- **dancing, acting and singing** you need to come check out Dance Unlimited. My daughter has been dancing at Dance Unlimited since 2007 and absolutely loves it there!!! All of the teachers that she has had over the years have been very professional and besides teaching her dance they have nurtured her and taught her so much, including helping her to increase her self esteem and her confidence in her ability to do what she loves...

We've been at DU for 12 years - ever since my oldest was a tiny tot. The instruction is top notch, teachers are wonderful, and you'll truly feel like you are part of a family. Whether you just want to take a class or two or dance competitively, even act or take voice lessons...it's all there! Don't know what we'd do without our home away from home.

The first year and a half was great, the teachers are very professional and have a great repertoire with the dancers. Then my dancer was accepted into the school’s company. The parents are basically tapped dry and are used a slave labor while the director pours on the guilt trip throughout the year how we as parents aren’t doing enough and our dancers and not focused and not taking the work seriously. The dancers are subjected to erratic scheduling which can change at a drop of a hat. The director obviously feels working parents should just get over it. The schedule can run late in the evening which began to take a toll in my child’s school work towards the end of the year; not taking the dance seriously, I think not! I knew parents that took off work just to accommodate the director’s insane scheduling requirements for fear of her going off and removing their child from the company. The director demoralizes the students and instills fear in them not to speak out. She uses her bully persona on the parents when anyone questions her tactic. Direct quote from the director “those who find fault or second guess do not progress as quickly as those whose parents encourage them to follow instructions”. So basically if you don’t play ball your dancer won’t progress under her watch. If you truly want a pre-professional program, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend taking an extra few minutes in your commute time to find a performing or competitive dance company who has professional poise and tact. You will NOT get that courtesy from the director of Dance Unlimited! Very disappointing!

We have been a part of the DU family for several years now and I wouldn't dream of my daughter dancing anywhere else. The teachers at DU are very hands on with the training and provide a lot of positive feedback. My daughter has always been encouraged to try new things and not give up. After coming from a place that was not a great match for my daughter, Ms. Amanda did a wonderful job in the beginning of taking my daughter under her wing and encouraging her growth and self confidence. All of her teachers there have been amazing and they all hold a special place in our heart.

I have found the owner, Ms. Donna, to be very responsive to me whenever I have had a question or concern. I always feel her answers are honest and for the benefit of the individual dancers. We look forward to spending many more years with them.
