Not a lot of equipment for how many people are there, but still nice

Ever improving, much to offer here. Minor shortfalls are the only reason it's not 5 star.

Ok, good selection of equipment, extremely busy with people just sitting on equipment. Annoying.

If you ever worry about β€œgetting in the way of classes” at a gym. Don’t come here. There’s β€œclasses” during PEAK workout periods, and there’s one specific instructor that apparently likes to block anyone not in the class from using any of the equipment in that space….. even if it’s the ONLY piece of equipment in the entire gym. Absolutely ridiculous. Find another time OR PLACE to have a class. Absolutely absurd.

I’ll adjust my rating when that instructors attitude, timing and location of classes changes.

Everything else about this gym is fine, deserves its nice solid 4 stars that it has. Decent equipment and size of space, quality of equipment is good (a bit old but still good) it’s definitely a DOD gym. But it accomplishes what it sets out to do. Hope to see something change about the β€œclasses” thing because I don’t know if I’ll ever workout here again because of that experience.

Smaller gym and often you have to wait for bars if you get there by 730 am or after 3. There are only 8 bar options that serve as bench and squat rack, so it goes quick. There are also only two cable options. Additionally there is only half of the treadmills that gaffney offers. However it offers better hours and less instances of…. Uncomfortable interactions (girls will get what I mean).

Your standard military fitness center. Rumored that it was a school before becoming a gym which accounts for the strange layout. But it'll get the job done.

Best time to go is during past normal hours when you have to badge in. There will be zero to a few service members there with you. You'll enjoy peace and quiet. Just don't ego lift coz no one there will help you rack your weights. πŸ˜†

Better than Gaffney is all I have to say. Their hours are better and flexible. Only complaint is that while approaching summer I have noticed roaches in men's bathroom. Just make sure exterminators are taking care of that.

I have to admit I first went to Eagle Fitness when it was SeaLandAir in 1989. It's still a great place to workout. Looks like the redesigned the free weight area and expanded the cardio area. The whole place felt clean and fresh, and I had a great workout.

Good gym, clean and full of just about anything you would want. The best time to go, like most gyms, is first thing in the morning but afternoons are not too packed. It is most empty around 7-9am.

I strongly disliked this facility for years. I felt it had a very prison-esq atmosphere. They've upgraded the squat racks and lifting room which has greatly improved the gym. The staff is usually helpful. Aside from some cleanliness concerns, I appreciate the facility.

Gym definitely needs some updates to the entire gym the machine room feels a Lil claustrophobic because too many machine in on room, could use a thorough a bit of cleaning but it's 24/7, and usually very dead. And I'm grateful for that.

Even by base gym standards this one is pretty bad. It's probably most noticeable in the summer, when the temp is 100 outside and 95 inside. The a/c is completely inadequate and inconsistent. Some rooms...that's right, this is one of those kinds of gyms...have decent cooling but the main weight room has none. Same goes for the basketball court and locker rooms. Don't bother showering; it won't take. Coupled to the weak a/c is generally non-existent air flow through the facility. Again, the room setup rears its head. While most gyms from the past 20 years have an open design, this one sticks with rooms and walls and low ceilings. What's really concerning is the room with a fireplace. There's no good explanation for it. Most likely, the gym was previously used for other purposes. Another possibility is that it hasn't been properly renovated in decades. Neither option is desirable. Unfortunately, nothing will be done about this garbage gym. It's not beholden to the rules of capitalism. Regardless of how bad it is, it can't go out of business for its failure to improve. Moreover, because military and civilians, alike, are required to use a base gym, it sees an artificially high number of users. Other, lesser issues include no music (even basic radio) over the PA system despite the fact they have the capability; weirdly small locker room with a very cramped layout; even smaller equipment rooms that have quite literally no space between machines; and the tvs are on one channel only (ESPN).

The gym is a great place to work out, it has a fairly strick dress code but nothing too outlandish. The facility it clean and the people manning the facility are great and super friendly! It is a little dated and has some old equipment but it still gets the job done!

Two rooms open, on the hour admittance (strict, if past five minutes you will not be allowed to enter even if gym itself is empty), no bags (including a plastic grocery bag to keep electronics dry when it is raining).

Appropriate measures are taken for COVID. Active duty military members only.

Hours as of JUL2020:
0700-1000, entry only until 0900

1200-1400, entry only until 1300

Decent gym. Never too many folks in it. Bring your own towel, shower shoes etc. The gym could use some updating. But is good enought to meet your fitness needs. There is a apin room, cardio rokm, and weight room. Full size basketball court as well.

Occasionally will run into an airman doing his mandatory once-a-month- PT. Easily recognizable by his short shorts, blaring 90's pop music, and Zumba instructor on his Airforce provided $1,000 PT I-phone, not to be confused with his Airforce provided duty day I-phone.

When you get bored with that free entertainment, the adults will be in the weight room

Great gym. Hours are less than perfect. Great, positive atmosphere. Lots of strength-training equipment. Separate cardio room, spin room, personal trainer room, and cable machine room from the main gym. Locker rooms with ample space and separate bathrooms closer to the gym. Overall, great set up. One big qualm is that the gym is VERY warm. It almost feels like there is no temperature controls there. The locker room is very cool and the main strength-training room is sweltering -- no matter what time of day. I'm curious to know if it'll be really cold in the winter... We'll see.

Update -spring 2018, location has been under construction for likely over a year now but now they have even fewer amenities. Looking forward to when they have it upgrades so I can cancel my current gym membership and return here. πŸ€™

I like that this gym is less crowded than Gaffney. I have enjoyed working out here for the past 2 years. My only gripe is the gym only has two stairmasters. I also wish more fitness classes were held here during different times of the day.
