Dear Fitness Club Management,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the recent changes that have taken place at the gym since the new owners took over. I have been a loyal member since 2015, and I have always appreciated the wonderful customer-oriented approach that the gym had in the past. However, it saddens me to say that the gym has now become solely focused on financial gain, with excessive annual fees, late fees, and an incredibly frustrating cancellation process. Axel, the so called manager I spoke with was extremely unprofessional and shouldnβt be in charge of such an establishment.
What has truly been disheartening is the decline in customer service and professionalism. The level of service and professionalism that I once experienced is no longer present. It is evident that the current management is more concerned with their own financial interests than with providing a positive and satisfactory experience for members like myself.
After years of being a dedicated member, I have made the difficult decision to end my relationship with the gym. There are numerous other gyms available that are better equipped, have professional staff, and prioritize the well-being and satisfaction of their members. I believe it is important to share my experience and strongly advise others to carefully consider their options before signing up at this gym.
I hope that you take this feedback seriously and consider making the necessary changes to restore the gym's reputation as a customer-oriented and professional establishment. I truly hope that future members will not have to endure the same disappointment and frustration that I have experienced.

Very High qualified. It provides great equipment, not only that it contains great service as well. They are very respectful, the gym is always clean, neat. And most importantly they make sure the members are always satisfied, they provide great help, equipment. Great trainers, Very motivational. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a gym that is not only looking for a great equipment for working out. But also great place to make friends.

Since the gym has been under new management, it has improved tremendously. I am so impressed of how the owner Sandra and her entire team is doing an amazing job keep the gym clean. I often shower and use the locker room there, and itβs always spotless. Shoutout to Ms. Clementine, who does a great job keeping the place clean, and Ms. Emmy who is always so welcoming in the morning at the front desk! I 100% recommend this gym for all! Keep up the great work Sandra, you are the best!

This Gym used to be the finest in the area under leadership of Jeff the previous owner , however do to the covid 19 it when down hill . The new owners have change the policies, without going to details they rep off my wife when she only gave them the right of her debit card for one month and the reason was , because they refuse to take cash at that time, and specifically told them, that the use of her debit card was just for one month payment only..... Because we where going away to Europe. We email Jamie and told him to stop, he claims that he never got our email . However they continue collecting payment while we where away . Upon our return we try to explain everything but he refuse to give her credit even though they knew very well that she wasn't there because of our long trip to our country . We ask the manager Jame Lopez to be reasonable and consulted with the new owner, or please give us their phone number so we can talk to them, but he refuse . Me and my wife we were for 21 years members in good standing, and over those years we have brought so many friends of us to a membership at the club, But is foolish loosing 2 seniors members . This is hands down the best gym in the silver spring area . Great location, amazing staff and wonderful selection of equipment. If youβre looking for a gym to join, look no further. I have been coming here for a few years and I have never had an issue. The staff is always courteous , helpful and extremely knowledgeable about their equipment , services and readily available to come to your aid in anything fitness related. The members are respectful and considerate of one another and itβs never super packed to the point that you have to wait around for equipment to free up. I actually look forward to coming to the gym and getting my sweat on because the atmosphere is so nice. Its 100% worth it!

Called Fitness Evolution on 8/29 to freeze my membership for three months which the receptionist gladly took care of. On 9/3 I saw a membership charge for the month of September so I called for an explanation. The receptionist explained that this is payment for when the account is unfrozen. Now today on 10/4, I see ANOTHER membership charge for the month of October. I called Fitness Evolution and the manager explains that this is correct and it is because I didnβt pause one month before. So at this point, I have been charged for Sept and Oct while my gym membership is frozen. I will be canceling TODAY, all of this is ridiculous. I have phone call logs for proof of dates when I called Fitness Evolution and will be speaking with the manager.

I am surprised at some of the negative comments since I feel they improved greatly since management changed. I would have agreed that it was kinda unfriendly to those not with the "in crowd" before Jamie took over. All the fit beautiful people working out there may be intimidating to some, but since I came back after the lockdown I noticed a much more welcoming climate there. I am not a regular but the staff made the effort to remember my name, and make a point to ask how I'm doing. That means a lot to me, and shows a since of gratitude for their clients.

Very disappointed in their customer service. Daughter is a college student, and told them. Was given a month to month and notified them on 8/5 that she would be leaving. In addition to charging $29.99 for the month to month for August , they now just charged an additional $39.99!!! Not sure what that is for. I called to have it removed and they said she had to cancel a month in advance.....still not sure what the $39.99 is for. My husband has belonged for 15 years and son also belongs....they would not waive the fee!!! Think I will suggest my son and husband join another gym!!!

was so happy when i find out there was a fitness evolution here silver spring..moved from Laurel and i loved it there but the driving was too much and it was ONLY $9.99 a month.. this location $29.99 one month $35 the next month $39.99 the following month..have no clue why? but never asked until today when i was asked to leave the gym cause i was not ready to have my picture taken..they did asked me yesterday and i was not ready ..and today that was the last thing on my mind when i got to the gym..again i was not ready..but asking me to leave the gym! really!!! i had my membership card with me thats what i used to get in..did not even know he was the owner..Jaimy or something..he asked me to leave and he also said he was going to cancel my membership..i dn't think he is a bad man maybe just a bad day..but again i dn't know the man!

I loved fitness evolution and have been going here for years but now they have a new owner Jaime and a new business called Fitness Club that took over. The communication of the changing names/business and the changing of pricing was done poorly. After 10 years with Fitness Evolution my family and I had to cancel our memberships due to the lack of communication and unprofessional customer service from the Fitness Club management. I was charged unnecessary late fees and itβs really sad to see newly become owners with big egos not care for their customer satisfaction but instead their profits. Reality is there will be no profits without any happy customers. Unless fitness evolution comes back, we will not be back.

They charged my account an additional 2 months for $44.00 each month after a planned cancelation. Then to cancel my membership was an extra month at that price. So they charged me 3 months ago extra just glad I checked my account. Donβt trust this gym at all.

Went to the gym for the first time this morning. Wipes were available, but noticed when I used the stair master and the elliptical that there were dried wipes left in bottle holders for the machines that I used. I was there at 6:30 am so these must have been left from the night before.

I've been a member for 9 years! The staff there is wonderful! Due to COVID they've done a fantastic job being cleaning and providing us with disinfecting wipes! There managing is so professional and understanding, they've help me numerous of times with my account! I've never had a problem with them. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone, especially if you want to work out in a fun and clean environment!

Very poor management. I cancelled my membership since September and they continue debiting my card without my authorization. Not only they charged my card without authorization, they also took more than the agreed monthly fee. This Gym it is not a place to be register at.

Stay away from this gym. They don'thave any intension for refund and make up new policies not to. They make you sick and tired so you leave money in their pocket. Check your bank account, they kept charging even though I froze my account until Dec. I have called the manager, Wes several times for refund. He said yes but never happened. When I called again, a girl said they will charge every three nonths as freezing accountlast for 3 months. They changedthe story abd policy whenever they want to make mlney. I camcelled the membership as there is no transparent policy about fees.

Staff was very disrespectful and management needs some change. Donβt blame Covid -19 for everything including practicing basic communication skills. Manager said I am one of the customers who pay βthe cheapestβ therefore my concerns were not relevant enough to deal with ($33 a month). Money hungry greedy gym with no care for members what so ever. Even during a pandemic where ppl are struggling to make ends meet they still donβt care. I havenβt used this gym since March because I relocated to Florida and have been trying to cancel for months yet when they open back up I get charged and they say your cancellation has been processed but we still have to charge you for the month of July. I was told βdonβt worry we wonβt charge you for Augustβ now their not responding to my emails and ignoring me....do your self a favor, pay the extra $10 a month and go to a real gym.

Pros: Great staff and instructors
Cons: The sound system often cuts off in the studio. There has been frequent problems with the air conditioning and plumbing. They keep the ceiling fans in the studio on a very low speed. After many complaints on the aforementioned problems, nothing has changed. In addition, you used to be able to bring one guest for free per visit. That policy was changed to $15 per guest. When I cancelled my membership in June, not only did they charge me an additional $29.99 for July, they charged me the annual dues of $29.99...even though those dues are supposed to be for the upcoming year. This gym seems to be more interested in generating profits than providing a comfortable, positive workout environment for its members.

You are much better off going with planet fitness.
I've been a member at this gym for about a year. Over the course of the year, the equipment has not been maintained. The belts on all of the treadmills need to be replaced and the weight lifting equipment needs routine maintenance. The locker rooms are unclean. The lack of money put into this facility to keep up standards is obvious.
In addition, a "year membership" actually means 13 months.
I have since joined planet fitness and found their equipment to be much better maintained and their staff much more helpful.

Their cancellation policy is something! I signed up membership in mid of March and cancelled after a month which is 30days. I have no idea why they charged me $39 for annual fees which is not even 60 days of my service yet. NOT ONLY THAT. They charged me $9.99 for May after I have cancelled my service in April.
I am not here to manipulate you guys.
I honestly Do Not recommend this place because there are so many greater gyms than this gym out there.First, their equipment are not updated. The machines they have are old and out dated. Second, always crowded which you always need to wait for weight for a long time. The last thing and the worst thing is their customer service. They are not friendly and not able to answer your questions and train you. The trainers are not always there for you!

I really liked this place when I started coming here.
Since then, they've changed a lot of classes to "group training" which aren't included in normal membership.
Further, when a machine goes down, it's down for a while. They have about 15 treadmills, of which maybe 6 are fully functioning at any given time. I don't know what changed in the last six months, but this place has gotten worse.

I wish I was able to give them zero stars. Worst gym ever!! Do yourself a favor and stay away. Don't waste your money at this horrible establishment. My car got broken into on a Sunday afternoon and the staff could careless. My car windows were shattered and my wallet was taken. None of the cameras are pointed towards the parking lot. I canceled my membership and the staff member didn't even bat an eyelash when I told him why I was canceling. They have the nerve to call me later saying my last month's payment didn't go through and want to charge me an extra $15 since my card was declined. Of course it declined, the card you had on file was the card that was stolen. Worst experience ever! They don't care about customers at all. I have attended that gym for years and I regret wasting my money away at this establishment.

My issues are with the childcare staff
(if you want to call them that) at the gym. There are very young staff members working there, who are often on their phones, and too distracted (one girl by the newborn she had recently who she brings to work with her), to watch other kids in the gym. Within the last two weeks I have had two incidents where my daughter was injured, and the staff members either didn't see what was going on, or weren't watching well enough to prevent an incident. I am very displeased with the child care staff, the gym's policies regarding child care, and the lack of attention they give to this area. Seriously considering canceling my membership.

I echo the comment about the billing practices. I ended the contract early because I was no longer able to use this gym. They continued to auto-deduct amounts from my credit card and would not agree to rescind the charges. After I closed the card, they made harassing phone calls to get the "overdue" (try, unauthorized charges). They then overcharged me for several months of charges that even went beyond the terms of the original contract. I could not reach the manager.
