I came in at 1030 and at 1045 I called from the changing room after I noticed one of these nasty women did a number 2 and left it with an immense amount of tissue and didn’t even flush I called the front desk to be told they’d have someone come tidy the bathroom up.
It is now 1245 and there is still the mess from almost two hours ago. I don’t know if I’m more upset that no one cared to come straighten up or the fact that there is a woman out there (I’m sure there’s more) that are so trifling to do something as nasty. I pride this gym on being clean and having an environment other facilities don’t have.
Do better
I should leave a picture but I’m going presume relaying the message will suffice

I feel like they are doing a disservice to themselves when they don’t allow old members as far back as pre-covid to come in with a current member under the one time free guest pass. They have changed ownership and also changed in other ways. You could have just earned a customer or a few because one of our family members is a current member and they wanted to go with them to see if they wanted to join again along with the possibility of other family members but that just put a bad taste in our mouths. They want you to pay for a $25 day pass when you can buy a membership for $20/month. How do we know if we want to go through all of that to get in for a day and possibly not want to choose that as their home gym. And now you’re going to loose your current member.

Overrated .
Personally I feel as though all of the Golds gyms in the surrounding areas just keep getting worse.
Especially in comparison to the local competition, Golds was the place to go for bodybuilding and powerlifting and as soon as you walk through the doors, that was the atmosphere you felt the atmosphere that long time members love. You can’t get that at a lot of the other mainstream gyms, which is why I’ve always loved Golds so much, up until recently. The last couple years Ive noticed the overall quality has been in a steady decline. the cleanliness in all of them that I’ve been to seems to be non existent and the condition of the existing equipment is embarrassing along with the lack of new equipment. Some of these machines seemed to be well over 20 to 30 years old and then there the chaos of the whole set up. Some organization of the equipment, especially if the broken down into muscle groups can make a big difference.
I love gold, but it’s getting pretty ridiculous around here. The quality just keeps getting worse unfortunately that’s my honest review. This is inclusive of the Golds gyms in the surrounding areas.

I LOVE this gym. I have 3 memberships and this is my go to gym but PLEASE get more dumbells under 60lbs. I'm a strong guy but I also have nothing to prove so I don't need 9 sets of 175lbs dumbells. Lol the vast majority don't. Most people use up to 50's but there's very few "normal" poundage weights so they go quickly while 80 feet of weights just sit there collecting dust. Please. More dumbells and more weight towers with plates as well. They're virtually none. Again, I love this gym though. Lol

For a mystery reason Google Maps still insists to display this location, despite I have already reported it as shut down permanently with an evidence a weak ago. Wonder what is the point of displaying fake information.

I've been coming to this location for a couple of years now and I'm glad you guys finally hired someone who speak Spanish since a good percentage of the members here are Latinos (me and my wife included).
It's good to see a friendly face and someone you can communicate easily.

Terrible gym with terrible cancellation policies. Paid on the account for years and years. Move out of state and try to cancel via mail as they require (because over-the-phone doesn’t work in 2025?). Letter never makes it because the it’s snail mail and they have their own problems. So they send you to collections. Definitely beware of this slimy place.

This is the gym if you want to get sweaty and be serious about your fitness. No glamour. Just a space for good old fashion hard work. Lots of retro equipment. Outdoor workout space. Largest Gold’s in the area.

Good morning to all gym members this morning about 7:40 I came in to do my regular routine. I bring my daughter in with me and I asked the dude at the front desk his name is Jose if she could possibly seat at the front tables while I do my training and she is not allowed past the line and he asked me to leave that he was kicking me out and that he was going to cancel my membership. I am a loyal membership I have been coming to this place for the last 8 years and I never experienced such as umprofetional customer service very aggressive and disrespectful to me and my daughter she is only 16th and she is pretty upset the way he expressed him self I ask to address this matter iesn this dude it's pretty new here it's my first time seeing him here very rude folk.

No commitment contract yet they bill you constantly! You can’t bring a friend no lore! You ask them to take away your membership because you can’t attend , and they won’t. They continue to bill you , but yet you can’t come in the gym and work out even thought they’re billing you, you can’t come in the gym . Gonna file a civil lawsuit against them. .

My Honest Experience at Gold's Gym, Maryland
I joined Gold's Gym when I moved to Maryland this past April, mostly because it’s spacious and open 24/7 — a huge plus for someone like me who values flexibility.
But the more time I spent there, the less inspired I felt. The gym just doesn’t feel as fresh or motivating as I hoped. Equipment is worn, some machines don’t work properly (and honestly feel like they could cause injury if you're not careful), and the overall tidiness leaves a lot to be desired.
The staff? Super friendly — no complaints there. But for me, I want a gym that’s bright, clean, full of mirrors (so I can flex properly, lol), and simply makes me want to be there.
I appreciate what Gold’s offers — truly — but respectfully, it’s just not the right fit for me. On to LA Fitness for the vibe I’ve been looking for.

So when me and my wife started using this location, we assumed it would be like the other Golds Gym we were using. This Golds Gym is by far the worst Golds Gym we have ever used. First issue, before even entering the gym, is the parking lot. The few handicap spots they have available are all used by people without handicaps. Inside the gym, they have 1 bathroom available for members and it's on the 2nd floor. This is an issue because handicap people cannot get to the 2nd floor. Why, you ask? Half or the employees say the elevator is out of order, the other half say they don't even have an elevator. So after I write this, it will be send to the proper institutions to see if they are violating any laws. Now.once inside the gym, the amount of equipment to use is outstanding. By far they have the most equipment of any gym I've seen. But the areas are usually trashed. Nothing is put away, the paper towel machines are empty. I'd steer clear of Golds Gym in Ferbdale on Ritchie Highway.

Fraudulent billing practices. I tried to cancel, and they did not respond to emails. After calling, they told me I had to come in person. After calling the manager they told me to write a letter. Once the letter was received, they told me I had a past due balance all they while they were biling me.

I’ve been a paying member of this gym for a while now, always making my payments on time, on top of every yearly fee. But the service has been extremely disappointing. The gym equipment is constantly out of order, and it takes forever for anything to get fixed. It’s frustrating to pay a monthly fee and not have access to basic machines that should be available. The management doesn’t seem to prioritize maintenance, and there’s little communication about when things will be repaired. If you’re looking for a gym with reliable equipment and good service, this is not the place. Not worth the money!

There are 4 ellipticals at this location and only one of them works. This has been going on for months. I have seen other people complain to the employees about the ellipticals while I was there at the gym and that was a few weeks ago and they are still not fixed. I put in a complaint to have the ellipticals working and also, the attendant told me that someone yesterday put in a complaint. She said there are multiple complaints written in the book. It seems like management is putting this last on the list.
I went to the gym this morning and waited for 20 minutes for the guy to get off of the elliptical but he never did. I had to leave the gym because I didn’t have time to wait around for my workout when because I also have to go to work. I am a mother of two kids and a full-time private contractor and I only have a slim amount of time to get my work out in.
When I take the effort to drive to the gym and can’t use the machines that I want to use it’s very frustrating. I will absolutely take this negative review off-line if the problem is fixed. If the problem is not fixed, then this review will stay.

This is the dirtiest, most disorganized Gold's on the East coast. I'm curious about the managers' standards. A lot of dust on many surfaces. It's difficult to find matching weights and specific equipment because of the disorganization. It looks like a play house where toddlers ran through. The mats are so worn and torn that they should have been thrown away a long time ago. That is an inexpensive, simple upgrade. Many weights, of different styles, no longer have the value written on it and you must weigh it yourself to know. Almost every week, there is a man working out in the women's section. Dirty steps. Outdated or worn out equipment that should have been discarded a long time ago. I'm fortunate that this is free to me because it's definitely not worth what they charge. Management could do so much better with the huge building. Sometimes an employee greets members. Often, they don't even look up from their cell phones.
Update: I'm having my provider switch me back to the Y. The Y doesn't have some of the equipment that Gold's has but at least it's clean up to date, and well managed.

Majority of the cardio equipment always under maintenance, unplugged or simply not working. Sure there are plenty of treadmills but if you want to use an elliptical you have 3 choices and the “good” one is always occupied because everybody knows the other 2 options are trash. The rest are turned completely off. Weight machines are mostly in good condition but there are some machines here that look like they were built during Desert Storm.
For $30 a month and plenty of people coming…owner could definitely afford to upgrade some of the machines.

Update: Idk if there is new ownership of this location, better employees or what, but finally I was able to just walk in and cancel. No complaints, no hassling, nothing. Just "why are you cancelling?" And a simple "ok, thata understandable". For the most recent service, easy 5*. I didn't catch her name, but whoever the young black girl at the front desk was, she's by far the best and nicest employee I've spoken to here in years.
Been trying to cancel membership here for over a year now. Go in-person, and they lie to your face saying it's cancelled. Write in a letter, they give you the wrong address on purpose. Call, and they tell you to come in person even though they'll just repeat the loop again by telling you that a manager has to he there to cancel it. For a 24-hr gym, there needs to be 24hr customer service.

This place is a dump, equipment is alway broken and never fixed in a timely manner. They haven’t had a legit new piece of equipment In probably 10 years. They keep bring old pieces of equipment that are broken when they get them then they sit there broken for months. You can never find a dumbbells because they are all over the freaking gym(because none of the staff enforces the rules). This owner is a joke. I love the fake review about this place saying it’s a great place. This place has gone down hill since this dude took over. The gym itself is pretty good as long as you don't expect to have the free weights where they belong but even that is hard to tell since some aren't even labeled so you can't even tell where they go. Some machines are brand new some are extremely old so at least there are options and not just all bad. My main issue with this gym is the boxing area the photos more or less speak for themselves it's not even a boxing area anymore back when I first signed up there were 6 punching bags and one double ended speed bag. Now it's just down to one being that the boxing area was one of the main reasons I joined now everyone that goes to the boxing area has to take turns. I wasn't gonna even make a post until multiple months went by and the area has only gotten worse. I had a surgery on my knee and recovered faster than they could just add some more bags but then again I get charged a maintenance fee. I will be updating this post accordingly whether I can get a refund or they fix the "boxing" area whichever comes first.
Edit: it's 8/8/24 and it's back to 4 bags still no speed bag

Great gym and staff. I like the remodel, but I wish the machines and equipment weren’t so close on the ground floor. Mainly the bench press area and the turf have become very cramped up. Also for some reason the customers treat the parking lot like a trash can, but I don’t blame golds for that.

Gold's Gym is one of the best gyms I've ever been to. The gym has an old-school charm with a wide range of excellent equipment that caters to all fitness levels and goals. Whether you're into weightlifting or cardio, this gym has it all! One of the standout features of this gold's gym is the very reasonable membership cost. It's rare to find such a well-equipped facility at such an affordable price, making it accessible for everyone looking to improve their fitness.
What truly sets this gym apart, however, is the outstanding management. ((Rachel)), the office manager, is incredibly kind and attentive. She ensures the gym is well-maintained and takes care of every single detail, creating a welcoming and motivating environment for all members. Her dedication to the gym and its members is evident, and it's clear that she genuinely cares about everyone's experience. Plus, her warm and friendly smile always brightens up the gym, making everyone feel instantly at ease.
Thank you so much, Rachel, for your hard work and for making this gym a fantastic place to work out. Your commitment to excellence and your warm, friendly demeanor make all the difference. I highly recommend this Gold's Gym to anyone looking for a top-notch fitness experience!

From out of town and came in with my girlfriend for an early morning workout wanted a day pass. Day pass $25 (super high). Then asked if we had an id. Well, my girlfriend didn’t bring her since we weren’t going out clubbing. So we were told we could not pay $50 to work out. There loss and will never come to this gym again. I have been a member in the past when I lived there and always visit when I’m in town. Have never been asked for an id and or payed that much. If it’s a policy make sure everyone is enforcing. Not sure if the person telling us this with policy was even a manager as he was dressed in street clothes and eating behind the front desk but he was not nice. Could’ been like hey man sorry it’s our policy. But he was just rude about it. Poor customer service/experience.

2/10/24 secretary at the front desk is clueless. Had to wait over 45 minutes for my kid to join the kids center because she failed to tell me it was at capacity when I was walking in.
In general I love Gold’s and staff is amazing!! But cleanliness of the gym is a real problem especially the women’s section it’s been ridiculous. They are really messing with my OCD early in the morning. They don’t pick up their paper towels and they don’t rack their weight. Every Saturday morning it’s like a nightclub and it was a party with weights. I got a clean up our section just to work out. Weights have gone missing. They put signs up in the women’s section but have been taken down. And as soon as they were taken down the women started acting up again. The pictures that I loaded doesn’t do the justice of what I walked into today. And this wasn’t even the women’s section. Smh
Ridiculousness.

This location of Gold's is relatively spacious, especially after its renovation. Downstairs, you have the studios, cardio equipment, turf area, boxing bags, and also a decent size weight training area. Upstairs houses more weight equipment, cardio equipment, stretching bars, the locker room, and the female-only area. There is plenty of paper towels/cleaning detergent to wipe down the equipment; lots of TV for your entertainment. Women's locker room are generally well maintained. I am one of the morning gym goers and thus have no problems getting the equipment I want to use right away. All in all, a pretty well maintained gym.

i loved this gym, i've been coming here for the past 2 years but things have changed so much since then, no one wants to re-rack their weights, the ladies shower is disgusting. I don't think they ever clean them, there are 2 ,sometimes 1 curtain in there. They took away the bench so there's literally nowhere to put your stuff while you shower except the dirty floor. They rearrange the machines every few months which is quite frustrating but Staff are nice.

This review is not based of the Staff at this place. More the upper management. I have been a member of Gold's Gym for almost 15 years ( Tampa, FL) I recently came to Maryland because I am opening up a new business in the area. My first day of coming to the gym I explained that I from FL and have a membership with Gold's Gym there. I used my 14 day travel pass. Since July I have been paying $12.50 for a day pass every time I've been there. Sometimes even $25 because it seems some of the staff doesn't know how out of state membership works. Never complained about the inaccurate charges. What started my frustration with this location is that later on after paying the $12.50 per day for a day pass. One of the associates there told me I could pay $50 for a month pass instead of the $12.50 per day for the day pass. This option should have been given to me early on when I explained my situation. But I'm assuming either due to lack of knowledge or all associates not aware this could be done. The problem for me really started when I inquired about getting a membership. I asked about the different options that were available to see which made the most since. You figure basic math if I come twice a week, that's $25 a week. So for a month I'm paying $100. If been coming since July. Which is paying more than the basic membership would have cost. Yes, that was my choice because I travel and I'm only here temporarily. So it didn't make since to join and have to deal with the hassle of trying to cancel later on. Especially since this is a Franchise location and only few places available in Maryland. So I asked about the basic membership, which is $19.99 a month also requiring a initial fee. So I asked if this fee could be waived since I've spent alot of money in this establishment already. The answer was No. I asked the associate at the counter if there was a manager available that could explain why this fee could not be waived. The response again was No. No real explanation other than a policy that couldn't really be explained. So I left and will no longer give this location my business again anytime soon. I contacted the area manager, named Carissa, I apologize if I spelled that incorrectly. She called me back promptly and again the answer was No. I asked her how other plans required as little as $1 intitail payment but they couldn't waive it. No real explanation, me personally I felt she could have cared less. They would rather lose a customer over $1 than to gain a customer and make more money. As a business owner that makes absolutely no sense. I also contacted the Gold's Gym headquarters in Texas and spoke to someone there. They were very apologetic and said THERE IS A WAY TO WAIVE THE INTITAIL FEE. Why this couldn't be done in the first place I'm not sure. It seems either there's a lack of caring or maybe a lack of what can be done from a management perspective. Not only did they lose my business but my friends that go there as well. For me a Gym is a Gym. As long as they have weights I'm perfectly in my element. I joined another gym that obviously wanted my business more. I will be keeping my Tampa Gold's Gym membership because it's not part of this Franchise.

You can tell the roof top units don’t work and have not been serviced in years (no air flow). Pic speaks for itself this is just one RTU but they all look the same. The pic is the rtu located above the standing leg curl and the blue stand up chest press.
So with the response after my review.
I think it’s crazy that golds is blaming the new garage doors on the hvac units not being serviced lol. What does that have to do with the years of dust on the return and supply? This is not something new others have had the same reviews from over a year ago and nothing still has been done. I bet you still want your gym dues with the heat and ac not working?
Update. Gym still don’t have working A/C as of July 3 2023
Update . August 11 2023
Lol don’t think this is working
Gold’s management is a joke at least tell us why the ac not working temp is 80 at night.

This is an issue I completely have with the management at this location. I tried to downgrade my membership tonight. I was told by staff that management has recently changed the rules, where-as only a manager can downgrade or cancel memberships. I then asked what time management is usually there, and I was told 9am-5pm. This is very inconsiderate, considering that your gym is open 24/7, and most people (just like management) work in-between those hours. It's making it harder for people who come to the gym outside of those time-frames to make necessary changes to their memberships. If the gym is open 24 hours, then your staff should have the permission to revise accounts at all hours.

It seems like they are not cleaning the showers everyday, or if they are then they are not doing a good job. Everyday this week I saw the same clumps of hair stuck to the shower walls and the same toilets were clogged.
Several of the curtains are missing and there is not enough space to put your stuff while showering.
The staff seems friendly and the equipment is good but shower cleanliness is a high priority for me.

Worst experience ever. Opened an account in 2022 that I paid off in full. Unfortunately I only came a couple times the whole year because I didn’t like the cleanliness of the gym or the lack of equipment. The guy that helped me set up the account told me that after the year, the account would cancel and stop billing me. However, as I am checking my bank statements this year I noticed that they continued to charge me 4 monthly payments and an annual fee. I came to talk to them about it and they opened up my account and told me I had 3 other accounts from 8-9 years ago. I wasn’t even aware of this and apparently they had been sent to collections. I wanted to cancel all of the accounts they said I had but the manager wasn’t there.
The next day I was able to speak to the manager Karissa Dodson and she told me the same unhelpful information the 3 people before her said. I was hoping to hear something reasonable or different from her being the manager but she clearly did not show appreciation for the year I spent on this gym.
As a manager, she needs more training in customer service and problem-solving skills.

I would not recommend this location, got a one day pass to check it out and I was very dissatisfied in the overall quality.
Let’s start with the locker room , it was dirty and had trash on the floors , even one of the lockers was missing half a door.
The weight floor as NO Weight Racks, there’s a message that plays and says “re-rack your weights” but there is no rack. The Weights are scatter all over the gym on random weight machines. You spend more time searching for weights then u do working out.
It’s impossible to find more than 2 pair of matching dumbbells anywhere in the gym and if you do one of them is broke or pealing.
The cable machines do not have the proper attachments.
There were only about 5 bottles of cleaning spray for the benches, (which no one even wipes down).
The gym does have great machines that I don’t see at other gyms, but the overall quality of the gym is not got enough for a monthly membership.

Unfortunately the equipment is either damaged or extremely old. The only thing positive is that is open 24hs, and they have tanning machines. The crowd is great, but I guess we are all tired of the poor equipment or non existent free weights (20 to 40 range). Is definitely not the cleneast, but they don't charge much either. I think an investment on this place would be so beneficial for all the community that use the gym. Respectfully.
update: Again please, buy free weights !!! since are non existent!!, and acknowledge equipment is extremely old or is broken. You are definitely not taking care of that

This gym has a major problem with missing equipment. None of the members put the dumbbells back when finished, nor re-racking the plates!!!! It’s truly unbelievable! If the staff can’t control the members, then the staff needs to walk around the gym and clean up the weights! I worked at Holiday Spa, years ago, and everyone had to take turns walking the gym putting weights back. I see enough staff at any given time at Golds, standing around doing nothing. Take pride in your work and put the weights BACK!!!! Unbelievable!!!!!!!

This is one of the best commercial gyms I’ve been to in regards to equipment and layout. I prefer to keep to myself but the rare interactions I’ve had with staff and members have been very friendly. Gym is regularly updated, and I recommend posting more signs around the gym during the next one. Please launch a PSA campaign concerning etiquette in the gym. There is a persistent problem with restacking weights. I often clean up my area only to go to another where dumbbells are laying around or barbells have weights neglected there after use.
Potential sign idea: “Don’t be weak, restack your weights.”
“Be cool, restack your weights”
“Don’t forget to restack your weights homie”

Great gym with every piece of equipment you could need. Other amenities like tan, women only area, sauna, classes, kids club also available. I give it 3 stars b/c of cleanliness and just lack of upkeep in the locker/restrooms areas. This gym has been remodeled numerous times but no real upgrades to the other most important area: Locker-room- showers, toilets, sinks, and lockers are filthier than they should be. Some of the sinks just spew water only one hand dryer usually working after they removed all paper towels. They don’t clean the place until late morning so if like to workout early morning be prepared for the dirtiest looked room and restrooms. Hopefully they take time to update and upgrade the looker room and this would be a 5stars

I do not recommend this location and the one at Marley Station. I signed up my membership back in 2017 then cancelled 2021. I signed up early this year...
Their price went up from $0 down payment - $10 a month then $20 a month you can bring a friend with you and you can go in "any location".
When i signed up i had to pay $83 upfront for the enrollment and my monthly basic plan which is $19.99. And you cannot bring a friend for free anymore. They have to pay $20 per visit.
$0 down payment - $39.99 (i think that's their premium)
I cancelled within 3 business day claiming you will get a full refund! man it was a lie! Read the agreement #5 FEE OF RETURNED FUNDS. It so hard to get ahold of their managers, but right after you sign up 2 managers will call/text you everyday to get your measurement etc. I FEEL HARASSED!!!!!!!!!!
Who ever that employee who answered the phone the day i called was rude! They need to train their people about agreement that making them people to sign!

For personal reasons I had to move to a different state, so I had to cancel my gym membership. Went 4 different times but people at the front desk were not allow to cancel my membership so they gave me an specific time frame when I had to go to see a manager. The first three times I went, there wasn’t a manager and they keep on giving me different hours. Making it really hard for me to accommodate my work schedule just to be able to cancel a membership. Had to call before I went the fourth time and make sure there was someone that could cancel the membership and then just rush, so they wouldn’t leave before I got there. When I was finally able to cancel it, they charged me an extra month even tho I won’t be going to the gym anymore.

I would not recommend this gym to anyone. I have complained several times about the water filter on the upper level being in the red for months now and it still has not been fixed/changed. I shouldn’t have to drink dirty water. Other patrons drink that water as well. The female sauna also has not been working since the beginning of February, I have complained several times about this as well. I have asked the employees at the front desk to let management know that they should put a sign up that says out of order. Still nothing. The upstairs level has also been under construction for some time now and it looks like no progress is being made. Several of the machines are turned off because of it. The stair masters on the upper level haven’t worked in months. All in all, POOR management. The employees at the front desk are always very considerate and understanding, as well as the cleaning staff, but they have no say in any of this.

Gold's Gym has really disappointed me over the last year. I've had top membership for year's. Always paid my bill never breaking contract. But Gold's gym has used this pandemic to rob its customers by breaking every contract denying guest, raising prices. So during this pandemic I downgraded my membership to BASIC plan. Because I can't bring a guest. Don't use daycare and I'm black so I don't tan. Most locations got rid of the movie theater room. The only benefit was to use equipment, water pressure massage bed and theater. Well No theater so that left equipment and massage bed which I use 3 times a year. Friday I asked to use the massage bed and a manager insisted on checking my membership and said sorry you have basic but you can upgrade now if you want. I responded no thank you. But I was disgusted. The manager just went back to his office unbothered.
Gold's Gym broke contracts at will and expected me to continue spending money on top plan to use the massage room 3 times a year. And only one out of 2 beds even work at this location meaning the chances of it being available to use is slim. Why not just let me got the massage even if this was the last time since I was unaware of the policy. No customer service just sorry your just Basic give me more money. After years of loyalty I think I will move on to more upscale gyms that give me my bang for my buck. Disappointed at Gold's as a whole and the manager of this location for treating me like a second CLASS citizen after years of loyalty and not complaining about the many changes Gold's takes away without giving back to there customers. #TuffTimesInGlenBernie

Have been a member for over a year at this location and have enjoyed my experience for the most part up until the past month or so. The facility, cardio equipment, and staff have left a something to be desired.
Over the past week or so there have been multiple pieces of cardio equipment, specifically the treadmills that have been either disabled or broken. The facility has 18 treadmills available to both men and women and 10 of the 18 were unavailable to be used. I know that specific number because I tried all the treadmills that weren’t being used at the time since none of them had a broken or do not use sign on them.
Upon checking all the broken treadmills I spoke with the front desk personnel and asked them if they knew the treadmills were down. They informed me they knew of the issues and apologized saying they were trying to get them fixed. I asked if they were going to placed some sort of sign on the equipment that didn’t work to alleviate a customer having to try each broken treadmill out and finding out on their own. I was told someone was working on the signs. I thanked him and went back to working out.
After a week the equipment still isn’t fixed and there still isn’t signage informing customers of what equipment is broken. I’ve watched multiple gym goers try multiple treadmills only to see them as frustrated as I was when I had to do the same thing they did.
Lastly, the facility has been under construction, which is fine. Though due to the work there has been a build up of dust over the cardio and field equipment downstairs. It’s difficult enough that the facility has been under renovations and some of the equipment has been taken offline, now we have to do your staff’s job as well and clean off the built up dust? Come on…..do better and please.
I’ve been a GG’s member for a long time (not just this location) and these recent issues have me looking around for a possible new location.

So here 4 stars because I'm active duty and they gave me a great deal on a few months for travel.. I visit alot of gyms on orders from base to base...this was a great gym, my biggest issue is the men's locker rooms smells like a onion, an NOBODY ever racks there weights and that is a huge 2 star review but because they represent the military well I'll give them 4stars but minues 2 stars for weights and cleanliness. I walked in and signed up for a membership. The kids at the front desk literally told me I was paying for my first month + plus the enrollment fee = $40. Then I walk out proud to have started a gym membership. Later that night, I'm creating my account online and see that my membership will be charged an additional $22 for the first months fee. I thought I JUST paid that? ONLINE IT SAID THAT THE ENROLLMENT WAS $15. I literally showed my phone to the people at the desk. However now they were telling me my enrollment fee was $40 and in two days I would be charged an additional $22. I quickly cancelled and asked for a refund. The manager apologized through email, told me they would process my refund and told me "sometimes the website runs specials that aren't offered anymore". (so take it down? it was the GG's specifically in glen burnie website). IT HAS NOW BEEN A YEAR SINCE THE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD GIVE ME MY REFUND. I SPOKE TO BOTH NATE HENN AND TIFFANY WHO AGREED. However, now they just ignore all my emails. When you call, the kids at the front desk refuse to transfer you to the manager. It's messed up because I never even used the membership. I literally had it for only 3 hours. A year later and I still have not received my refund of $40 that they agreed to give.

I have had two memberships linked to my card for about a year. The person for whom I paid the second membership moved away without much notice. I was charged the yearly fees for the memberships and when I asked for some leeway regarding the situation with the second yearly fee the management could not have cared less about me as a customer. All they cared about was their policies. After looking into what is necessary to cancel the membership I found out that they make it difficult to do this. You can only cancel by mail or in person. They made it very clear to me that I was just a number to them and that as a customer I meant nothing. The people who I spoke with could not care less about the situation ... only about the policy and making sure that I knew that the $50 yearly fee was non-refundable. In my opinion as someone who is in commissioned sales and is judged my customer service I am very disappointed in this situation.

It's really the other gym goers that made me give only 3 stars (otherwise it would be 5). No one reracks their weight, so good luck finding what you need. I recommend cleaning the equipment BEFORE and after you use it, because most people do not clean it off. You can still see their sweat marks left behind.

It’s more like 3.5 stars. This gym is huge and have all types of equipment. It’s also surprisingly affordable at about $30 a month. Some of the equipment is rusty and you are not required to re rack weights so you’d have to find what you need which I don’t care for. I canceled because of that and also I worked out there once since enrolling several weeks ago. However, so many people still workout there and many are in good shape. They even have an area for powerlifting which is rare in all the gyms I’ve been to. If you do cancel, go in person before 5p. It was so easy and took less than 5 mins to do so.

At this gym the front door says you must have a mask over your mouth and nose or you will be asked to leave, no warning. However this morning after observing five people not wearing masks I finally observed a staff member approach one, but instead of asking the individual to leave, the staff member said “at least put it over your mouth.” The individual put it over the mouth but pulled it down as soon as the staff member walked away. No wonder the CDC considers gyms to be super spreaders. You should enforce your own policies for the safety of your staff and members!

This is your typical commercial gym.
The equipment is good and surprised they had a powerlifting room but sadly all the weights, barbells or any other equipment is scattered all over the place. You will have to look and look to find it. Other than that is a decent place.
Cancellation is a joke and I would ask anyone to be weary. During this pandemic you can only cancel in person or by mail. You would think they be more flexible but no. Their “cancellation manager” is only available 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (Mon-Fri), so good luck trying to cancel if you have a job. You won’t know when it will be mailed in since their is a pandemic and mail is at times unreliable. It’s a good reminder to never trust commercial gyms and their shady practices because we all know they are doing their most to be able to keep charging you.

Signing up is so easy but cancelling was a completely different story. I didn't appreciate that 2020's annual fee was withdrawn with no notice.
As a customer service professional there is a certain standard that I expect and this location fell short of that expectation on several occasions.
