What’s the best part of the gym? VICTORIA!!! When I first moved to Baltimore I wanted to find a gym that met all of my standards, was accessible, and had a great healthy gym culture. I came across grind, and after calling and scheduling a tour, met Victoria for the first time. To spoil my story, I want to say that she was the selling point for me to purchase a membership at the gym. Not only was I greeted by her energy, but also by her positive attitude, and her in-depth knowledge about the facility. She showed me every crook and cranny, answered all of my questions, and spoke so highly of the gym. I was sold. This is such a great gym to have a membership with- I’ve been nothing but satisfied since signing a few months ago. In part I will give credit to the gym for my happiness, but also want to give a immense amount of credit to Victoria.

Great gym, I Love it! Plethora of equipment and more than enough space to workout individually. Victoria & Bruce (from the front desk) is super friendly and keeps the gym clean. I must say, the ladies locker room smells much fresher since Victoria has been there. I have to add how attentive she has been. I came in feeling down and overwhelmed, which she noticed I wasn’t my normal self and asked if I was okay. That meant so much to me bc my mom had passed away.

I do wish they had challenges amongst the members to keep fitness fun. Also, less storage on the basketball court and a place to stretch (not sure why they put a second sauna in the old stretching area).

Overall phenomenal gym and experience.

Really cool gym in the heart of the inner harbor area. Large historic and unique space with quality equipment and amenities. Able to accommodate visitors to the city with reasonable rates and very friendly staff as well! A little tricky to find-- call if you need guidance. Thanks!

The gym is in a good location but it’s a bad spot. I’ve been a member of Grind for a year now so I can give an honest review of the gym. Because the gym has windows on all sides the radiant heat from the sun makes the gym super hot, especially during the summer. All of the equipment is old and not very well maintained. The bathroom is horrendous. The men’s room smells of urine and gnats are often seen flying around the urinal. If the equipment makes noise during normal business hours they will harass you and say that you’re distrusting the other businesses beneath them.

Overall, the gym is laid back but has few of the amenities that are on its website. The basketball court is old and water damaged. It’s also being used to store exercise bikes and has other equipment in that space. Once again the location is good but there is little to no street parking .You can always choose the option to pay to park in the parking garage. The staff isn’t very helpful and lack good customer service. It’s never overcrowded so you may be able to get a decent workout.

been here for about a month and i’ve noticed a significant difference in my upper body, part of that is my consistency but the gym is always clean, usually empty up until around 5pm, great atmosphere because everyone just minds their business, staff isn’t in your way and they’re also trainers, the music is great if you forget your headphones, sauna is a little cramped but it’s still nice, wish i could explain all the things i love about it really

I’ve been trying to hit the gym consistently, but the access situation is making it impossible specially on weekends. No key cards, no security staff, and no one answering calls when you need help for visitors one week pass. I’ve been turned away two days in a row with a “come back tomorrow” response.

Grind is a really cool gym with a great vibe amazing location and low cost. It was super easy to sign up and cancel which is unheard of. That being said, I have some gripes. This review comes from someone who is a powerlifter so your milage may vary.

1) 40% of all barbells are behind a paywall. They are locked and you cannot use them unless you pay extra to subscribe to the powerlifting club.

2) There are few plates in the deadlift area. Also you can't use the kg plates unless you pay extra.

3) There is a competition bench but only for the powerlifting club, other than that there is only one dedicated bench press.

4) Finally, the biggest issue for me: many power-lifting areas in the gym are not level. Probably not a big deal to most people but it messes with me.

Overall, a good gym for most people but not for me.

I've been coming here for 1.5 years so far. And I can say that this gym offers incredible value compared to any other gym I've been to. The gym offers something for nearly any type of athlete. It has machines, plenty of racks, ropes to climb, a punching bag, boxes for jumps, and even a lane for sled pushes. Not to mention a sauna and nice showers.

The regulars here are also really chill. I look forward to coming to this gym every day.

Top-notch gym in Downtown Baltimore.
I regularly travel for work and this place has great equipment and PLENTY of it too.

There’s so much to do and each time I’ve been (all at different points in the day) it’s been pretty close to empty.

Locker room - some towels available - and a sauna. Nothing fussy at all - just a great, large gym for a good workout.

Tricky to get in the first time. I’d suggest buying your pass then having security let you up.

Grind Baltimore is hands down one of the best fitness gyms I’ve ever been to! The moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by a vibrant and energetic atmosphere that immediately motivates you to get moving. The facility is state-of-the-art, with top-notch equipment that’s always clean and well-maintained.

The variety of classes offered at Grind Baltimore is impressive. Whether you’re into high-intensity interval training, yoga, strength training, or cardio, there’s something for everyone. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, always pushing you to achieve your best while ensuring proper form and technique.

What truly sets Grind Baltimore apart is the sense of community. The members and staff are friendly, supportive, and encouraging, making it a positive environment to work out in. It’s clear that the team at Grind Baltimore is dedicated to helping everyone reach their fitness goals, no matter their level of experience.

Additionally, the amenities are fantastic. From spacious locker rooms to a smoothie bar offering delicious post-workout treats, they’ve thought of everything to make your gym experience enjoyable and convenient.

Overall, Grind Baltimore is more than just a gym—it’s a place where you can challenge yourself, connect with others, and become the best version of yourself. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-tier fitness experience in Baltimore!

I've been to gyms all over the US, but this place stands out as exceptional. The space has sky-high ceilings, a lot of natural light, and it is equipped with every workout necessity imaginable. What I greatly appreciate is the welcome – the staff is incredibly warm and respects your space during workouts. The upbeat hip-hop soundtrack complements the mamba mentality vibe.

The views of Baltimore's waterfront and surrounding area is great for people-watching, making each workout a nice way opportunity to zoom out and take the time to focus on you.

The best part? The gym is never overcrowded, so you'll never have to wait for equipment. This is coming from someone who goes to the gym 4x a week anywhere between 9-12pm. Everyone here is respectful, fostering a great atmosphere.

But what truly seals the deal is the simplicity of membership – hassle-free sign-up and cancellation. Prior to joining, I researched other local gyms, and this was undoubtedly the best choice. It's a place that delivers premium facilities at an unmatched value. I highly recommend this hidden gem of a gym!

Kick started my fitness journey with this gym, specifically working with Matt as a trainer. He's taught me so much in the last month and a half or so about how to work with proper form and has been so adaptable with helping me to find a routine that works for me, working around injuries, and showed me ways to keep the workout interesting. He keeps me motivated to keep going, even outside of sessions. Matt is the human version of loaded dice (lol), you're only going to win when you are working with him! I can't thank him enough!! I have never once felt uncomfortable at Grind, it's such a great environment to grow and, pun intended, keep up the grind.

Pros: Cool gym, good equipment, atmosphere is friendly, Sauna is nice, great for crossfit/powerlifting

Cons: Parking is extra $50 a month making gym expensive (street parking is almost nonexistent), basketball court is a little run down, the locker room needed more regular cleaning and sometimes ran out of towels

Big Issue: I was charged for an extra month due to cancelling through the link they provided in the email they send and despite showing them that I received a confirmation email of my cancellation, they refused to refund me. They cited that canceling through the email isn’t valid, but needs to be done through different methods. Would have been nice to know before hand or wish they resolved the issue once I brought it up.

Overall this gym is great. It caters to athletes with a wealth of kettlebells, Oly lifting platforms and bumper plates, dumbells that go up to 120lbs, strongman tools like tires and Atlas stones; for me the big selling points were the sauna and a pair of high gymnast rings, and that during COVID masks weren't required. These days i love the 15lb mace as well. Friendly staff, clean facilities, secure and safe area.

So why only four stars? The music. Nearly every time I come into this gym the same brainless, lowest common denominator trap music is playing through the (very nice) sound system, and most times it's so loud I can hear it through my headphones. It's a petty gripe, but music makes or breaks a gym experience very easily, and it wouldn't bother me if it weren't the default music of this gym - almost the only kind of music that's ever played at all. Awhile ago there was a billboard asking for patron suggestions for music for a playlist but that doesn't appear to have been put into effect, and that's a shame. To some degree this is more of a larger "Baltimore" problem than a "gym" problem, but it's still irritating enough that it loses a star on an otherwise pretty ideal gym. If you live for autotune and plug-n-play 808 beats you've heard 1000 times then you'll love it here. For the rest of us? Blast your earbuds I guess.

This was a pleasant surprise. The only thing that crossed my mind while I worked out was that they should charge more. The weekly rate is $29 but they could easily and legitimately charge $50 and nobody would bat an eye. The location isn’t exactly easy to locate, though. To be clear, it’s on the 4th floor of the power plant building, which would be nice to know while you’re looking for a place to park. Good general/bodybuilding gym especially considering price and quantity of free weights. Not really suited for specialized sports like powerlifting or weightlifting, but you can make it work if you really want to train there. I left a couple of months ago and I know they’ve made some upgrades since then and I’m sure more are coming, so take the following with a grain of salt:

General pros: Friendly owners/trainers, spacious, no contracts/annual fees, reasonable price, located in the inner harbor, garage parking validation (generously reduced price), lots of iron & bumper plates, very rare to walk in and not be able to use the piece of equipment you want.

My personal pros: gymnastics rings, Rogue fitness rig (plenty of pull-up bars, one long muscle up bar, space to rack 4 barbells.), a power bar, several women’s 33lb weightlifting barbells

Cons: dilapidated platforms likely due to members dropping iron on them not knowing any better, located at the top of the old power plant building so it gets very hot in the summer

*My personal and very specific cons that really only matter if you specialize in powerlifting or weightlifting: no power racks (2 incline squat racks in lieu), CAP iron plates, uneven flooring

Grind has been great from the start. Communication was prompt and direct. I'm so glad I was paired with an awesome personal trainer in Anahys. Anahys was extremely patient as I was getting back into the flow and regaining my balance. She is organized, reliable and I always leave our sessions feeling stronger. I've never been a AM workout person, but I I'm having fun and look forward to getting up and going! 5 weeks in I'm feeling healthier, happier and looking better too ayyy.

The Grind is without a doubt the BEST Gym in Baltimore! Jay and Coby were super friendly, helpful, and went the extra mile to help you achieve your goals! If you are looking for a REAL gym, look no further! There are plenty of deadlift platforms, 2 yokes, squat racks, bench racks, accessory machines, Dumbbells, a half basketball court, boxing area, an artificial turf area, a Normatec compression therapy leg system, and so much more! Anthony is super easy to reach out to and willing to work with whatever training length of time you need, which was awesome only being here for the summer. I would highly recommend you check out The Grind to achieve your health and fitness goals !

I recently found out about this gym! It is in the heart of the city 🏙 with a beautiful view of the harbor on both east and west sides of the building and windows on ¾ sides of the building! Anahys is such an amazing trainer there! She is always super accessible, encouraging, and an expert when it comes to fitness, nutrition, and general health & wellness advice. I’m very surprised at and happy about the progress I’ve made with her guidance, so if you need that extra push to help achieve your fitness goals, I absolutely recommend Grind Baltimore and training with Anahys! More things I like about the gym: Other trainers are equally helpful when a guest needs something (e.g. a certain lifting bar). The showers are always kept clean, and they let you bring your bike in the gym for safety vs most other gyms where you have to leave your bike outside. They also give parking passes for the Pier V garage, either for discounted parking or for an unlimited parking subscription, which is VERY convenient and adds peace of mind when getting there if you’re in a rush to find parking. Only good things to say about this place! It really is unique!

Great gym! I'm from Florida and was in Baltimore for a family member surgery. The owners were extremely accommodating and allowed me to workout. They have everything you'll need from dumbbells to 120lbs, free weights with plated machines, crossfit area, power lifting area with drop plates. They have thought of everything. This place also has a great atmosphere because of the old historical building. Great experience!

Wonderful gym in Baltimore. Great location, every piece of equipment you could want, never crowded, super laid back.

I hate dealing with the salesy gyms in the area, that can't give you a straight answer on price, membership terms, etc. They were super straight forward and easy to work with.

It's not fancy, but if you are looking for a legit place to get your work out in this is your spot.

This place is awesome! Visiting from Delaware with my girlfriend and were invited here by Anthony. The location rules(waterfront). You can really do anything from bodybuilding, powerlifting, gymnastics, crossfit, to general training. Definitely recommend if you're in the area, we will be back next time in Baltimore!

I was in town on business for the last month and this gym was above and beyond instrumental in helping me continue progress towards my goals. Nick is not only the man but runs an honest business and is very flexible with your needs. I would recommend this gym to 10/10 people and will continue to come here when working in Baltimore!

Absolutely amazing gym!! I visit Baltimore very often and always make sure to at least get a day at this gym, strongly consider either getting yourself a membership or taking at least a day-week pass, you won't regret it. The customer service is prompt and unbelievably quick and they're always more than willing to help you with any questions or concerns. As for the gym itself: excellent. The overall atmosphere of the gym is one of the best I've ever experienced and they have all the equipment you could ask for. If you're ever in the baltimore area put this on your to-do list.

This is an incredible facility in a beautiful historic building. The equipment is great and the 4th floor experience is something else. If you’re looking for something beyond the big box chain gyms, this is a real place to achieve results and build community!
