At HiYa Karate, we believe in "Training for Life!"
We are a family owned, operated, and integrated Martial Arts Center. The basis of our philosophy is rooted from Tang Soo Do ("Way of the Empty Hand"). Tang Soo Do is a composite style Martial Art that incorporates both hard and soft components of what most people refer to as Tae Kwon Do. The term, Tang Soo Do, is used to denote an older, traditional form of Korean Martial Art. Tang Soo Do has its origins linked to the ancient Korean Tae Kwon, Chinese Shaolin & Tai Chi and Japanese Shoto Kan Karate styles.

We have been attending HiYa! for the past three years and we cannot say enough good things about the place. Mrs. Emily and all the other instructors are so encouraging with the children and take an active interest in them. Absolutely love HiYa!

Mrs. Emily, Ms. Julia and EVERY Instructor at Hiya Karate is AMAZING. They have been like a second family. My son has been in the Panda program for 14 months now and is currently a blue belt student. He has come such a long way since day one of class and I just cant thank Hiya Karate for all they are teaching my son. Patience is a Virtue and he is learning that at Hiya Karate!

My son began taking lessons at Hiya about a year and a half ago. He has really enjoyed his lessons and competition team. The instructors make the lessons so much fun! My son has gained confidence and done so many things outside of his comfort zone. He went to the Junior Olympics and brought home two gold metals! Love our HiYa family!!

HiYa is the best!! My daughter has been taking classes with them for years. It's always a warm, supportive environment and it means so much to have a place where my daughter feels lifted up, confident and like she belongs!!

Great learning environment and a blend of traditional martial arts training, with the option of participating in local and national tournaments. Wealth of knowledge from the instructor base means that regardless of when you come to class, you'll learn something new!

HiYa is like a second family. The instructors are amazing and the owners, Susie & Mark are incredible. My oldest has been with HiYa since she was three (she will be 11 in December). As of today all four of my daughters are enrolled at HiYa and love it. Truly a gem in the heart of Mt. Airy.

Our family has been part of HiYa since the kids were in elementary school. They are now young adults and all would agree that their lives have been positively impacted because of the true care and mentor-ship they received at HiYa. The martial arts training is fantastic, but the positive impact on the kids are invaluable. A great investment!

My children have taken classes at HiYa for over 2 years. I CANNOT say ENOUGH positive things about this school, the teachers and the program itself. My children LOVE going to classes each week. I cannot believe the change I have seen since they have been there. It is an incredible school with wonderful teachers - give it a try and you will see what I mean right away!!!!

We have been part of the Hiya family for several years now. My older son has been part of their demo team and competition team (even going to the Junior Olympics with them) and my younger son is also on their demo team (eagerly awaiting to be old enough to join the competition team). I honestly can't say enough about how wonderful this place is. THE INSTRUCTORS ARE BY FAR THE BEST!!! There is a genuine interest by the instructors for each child to succeed. They are always available for you to talk with them, as are the owners. When you join Hiya, you don't just join a studio, you join a family.

HiYa Karate is MORE than Karate! HiYa is a family owned business and it shows. HiYa has been wonderful for the kids, adults, and parents of Mt Airy. From demo team performances at places like Hershey Park to inhouse tournaments, to winning Gold Medals at the Junior Olympics. Adults make huge strides in their fitness and martial arts skills. HiYa is for everyone.

HiYa Karate is the perfect family atmosphere to learn martial arts for adults and children. The owners and instructors genuinely care for their students and do everything possible to bring out the best in each and every person. I have seen the efforts of the instructors result in a positive impact on the lives of not only my children but hundreds of others in the community. HiYa is second to none.....
