Key Pilates Studio is truly the best! Key celebrates diversity and makes everyone feel welcome.
I decided to take the Comprehensive Peak Pilates Instructor course here, even though I had never taken a Pilates class before (what was I thinking).
From day one, my Master Instructor Lauren made me feel like I could do anything. Even though I was completely new and unsure, she encouraged me every step of the way.
This studio is the perfect environment for learning, growth, and feeling supported — no matter your background or experience. I’m so grateful to have started my Pilates journey here!

I’m 60 years old and joined Key Pilates to improve my strength—especially in my core—lose weight, and work on balance. From the very first session, I felt welcomed and supported. After just two sessions, I already noticed my belly starting to shrink and felt so much stronger!
Amanda and Autumn are absolutely fantastic instructors. They’re knowledgeable, patient, and truly understand how to adapt the workouts for different ages and fitness levels. Every session is safe, effective, and actually enjoyable.

I have a very bad back with degenerative disc disease. I went to Key Pilates to seek some relief. Lauren Melia was very careful to research how she could work with me comfortably by laying on a wedge pillow that cushioned my old bones and was able to do the movements with her help. This was my first visit so I'm hopeful I'll find some relief. Fast Forward.... three years later I'm still working with Lauren. She know what I can and cannot do and has tailored my program accordingly. My back pain has eased and I'm now able to sit and paint for 2-3 hours. My only meds are Tylenol and Gabapentin. I'm so happy I"m able to continue working at what I love at the ripe old age of 86. Thank you Lauren.

Today was my first one on one pilates session at Key and it was also my first experience with pilates. I had Amanda and she was absolutely wonderful! I didn’t feel judged or anxious at all. You could tell she was so knowledgeable and down to earth. She is most certainly the reason I will be back for my next one on one. The studio was super cute and clean. I highly recommend to anyone who may be nervous about starting their pilates journey.

This is my first experience doing Pilates. I did a few Pilates exercises over the years, but it was nothing like what I’ve experienced at Key Pilates.
I have done lots of sports and workouts in my lifetime, and I’d have to say that Pilates has been one that has challenged me to a point where I keep coming back for more of it! I have only been at it for 3 months and feeling better each week. It is a must for men to consider Pilates - don’t be afraid! Just do it.
I have had many coaches in my life, and the coaches at Key Pilates are incredible. They don’t mess around or let you get away with cutting corners. They are here to help you feel great!

Today was my first day of Pilates and after the class I felt great! Serge and I attended together and Kara was our instructor. She would demonstrate an exercise, make sure we were executing it correctly and if needed make adjustments. Kara made sure we were comfortable and answered any questions we had. Each exercise focused on a specific part of the body and I realized how many muscles I was not using. We are looking forward to the next class and learning new Pilates exercises!!

First session was awesome…learned that Pilates is really a discipline, you can’t just run out and “do it”. Really appreciate the studio even exists! :)
It’s very hard to find actual Pilates studios with actual instructors in this area, that can do one-one training, and you will find that here.
I am so happy I found this place!
Also, location is excellent, easy to park and get to the studio…there are restaurants and other shops in area…very nice all around!

I recently completed my four 1v1 sessions with Lauren and am eagerly beginning my small group sessions to continue learning about Pilates. I feel instantly more aligned and connected to my body in ways I haven’t in years! The studio itself is beautiful and the other students are always welcoming (I don’t know about you, but I can be shy about joining a new group environment). The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and specific in their cues and assists, and even though it’s serious work, they have a sense of humor, which I totally appreciate! I know that working with the highly trained staff at Key Pilates is going to help me unlock my full potential as I close out this year strong and continue to level up in 2025!

I've attempted in home pilates in the past but realized I needed the direction and the guidance of someone that knows what they are doing. I recently joined and had my first 1v1 session with Lauren and I can't believe it took me this long to try it with an instructor. Lauren is an excellent instructor, she guided me throughout the movements and I learned a lot in just one session! I'm excited to continue this practice and I highly recommend this studio. It's clean, the atmosphere is encouraging and I love that the classes are kept small.

I couldn't recommend Key Pilates enough. Each of the staff members and instructors have been super knowledgeable and supportive in getting started at this studio. I really appreciate that they require you to do 4 1:1 sessions with staff before taking classes to make sure you're familiar with the machinery and body positioning. I've taken classes at other studios previously and I've never received the type of feedback and attention like I have here. Lauren, Kylee, & Kara are all great! I'm excited to continue my pilates journey here!

Lauren Melia and her team at Key Pilates have built the very best pilates studio in the area! Beginning with the warm and welcoming entrance and the smiling faces of the staff, to the first-rate pilates reformer equipment and various moveable apparatus, to the well-lit and clean studio, and the outstanding well--trained staff who give personal attention and instruction, not to mention classes of no more than 5 students and an emphasis on 1-on-1 sessions to reinforce the brain-body connection -- Key Pilates has it all! My only hesitation in raving about Key Pilates is that I don't want it to grow so popular that our secret is out!!

Just had my first 1v1 lesson with Lauren and I really enjoyed it! As a 100% beginner to anything pilates related she did a great job of walking me through all the basics and helped made sure I also understood everything we were doing and how it would help my body. I initially requested to tour the studio to learn more about their practice prior to purchasing the 4-pack 1v1 intro sessions. As soon as I entered the studio, I was greeted with a smile and introduced to members of the staff. Following the tour, I felt like their studio and practice perfectly aligned with the goals I wanted to achieve and I purchased the intro sessions the same day!
I recently finished my intro sessions with Lauren and I am amazed! Lauren did a phenomenal job educating me on the different movements and progressing me, as tolerated. As a physical therapist, I am very aware of how certain movements should be taught, and I am extremely impressed with the level of safety and anatomical knowledge that the instructors here possess. I am eager to begin small group sessions and to continue my Pilates practice :)

Everything about this place is great. Kylee was wonderful to work with during our private sessions to get me ready for group classes. Everyone’s friendly, welcoming atmosphere and it’s very clean. I have been coming to Key Pilates for about 6 months, and can confidently say it’s made a huge impact on my mental and physical health. I originally came because I was desperate to fix chronic hip pain from extremely tight hips and hamstrings. My daily aches and pains are rare now, but I hadn’t expected to get so much stronger overall. I didn’t really understand what pilates was… yes, you stretch, but you will also be getting in a TOUGH workout. Lauren & Kylee are both great instructors, and everyone who attends classes are so nice. Come try it out!

I'm so happy to have discovered Key Pilates at a time in my life when I need to regain strength in my 50s. I also can't say enough about Kylee. Compared to others I've taken classes from (Frederick and Montgomery Cos.), she is one of the most patient and motivating instructors. If you're hard on yourself, like I am, she will encourage you with positivity while focusing on correct form and safe movement. The facility is beautiful with ample parking and has everything you need for a great workout. There is even a nutritionist on staff.

Kylee is an amazing instructor. She shows true interest in my goals and pays in depth attention to my anatomy and adapts our exercises to focus on my what my body needs! (It’s amazing how she does this for everyone when in a group class) I am able to take what I’ve learned in Kylee’s classes into my everyday life to further improve the health of my body!

I have been taking classes at Key Pilates for approximately two months. I completed the introduction series with Lauren and I learned so much. Each time I leave I feel refreshed and ready to take on my day. Does everyone need Pilates with Lauren and Tony…at a classical Pilates studio? Hell yes!
I have been training at Key Pilates consistently for 7 weeks (2x a week) and I don’t know how I lived this long without it. It has definitely helped improve the way that I move, walk, and run. With each class, I feel my core and glutes getting stronger, and my body becoming more flexible. I could go on and on.
The atmosphere is welcoming. The vibe is fun. Lauren and Tony are so supportive and super knowledgeable. The work is challenging and beyond rewarding. I really don’t know what else you could ask for in a Pilates studio.

I can't recommend Lauren and Key Pilates enough. Despite my being wildly out of shape and completely unfamiliar with Pilates, Lauren has been coaching me through the basics and introducing me to it in a way that's within my capabilities and helping me to get a grasp of the techniques. I also appreciate that She tells you why we do certain exercises and how the body works when doing them instead of just telling you to do things, it really helps me understand how everything fits together.
Whether you're new or seasoned when it comes to Pilates, I highly recommend giving Key Pilates a try!

I was very excited when I saw a new Pilates studio coming to Frederick. After reaching out to Lauren and learning more about Key Pilates, I can say my experience has been nothing short of awesome. Lauren is extremely knowledgeable in her practice and makes sure that new clients go through the proper education to prepare for group classes. She has helped me with my form not only practicing Pilates, but also general exercise. The group classes are kept small and intimate, perfect for learning and not creating an intimidating environment. Lauren gave me my strength, flexibility and ability to enjoy life after I started Pilates with her. I broke my leg in three places and after physical therapy, I had hit a plateau in my recovery. As a 40 yr old and active boy mom, I needed a new approach. After only 6 weeks with Lauren, even my surgeon noticed an improvement. We moved out of the area last summer, but because I believe 100% in Lauren and classical Pilates, I invested in my own reformer machine and have been doing virtual sessions with her! She is just as amazing virtually as she is in person. Forget the typical gym membership, the yoga classes or the physical therapists - you won’t regret investing in yourself with Lauren!

I had several misalignment issues and muscle loss from pregnancies that Lauren has helped immensely with. Lauren has been working my 13 year old son for almost a year. She is an absolute miracle worker. My son had a back injury that requires him to stay flexible in order to stay active in the sports he loves. Lauren has kept him flexible and has taught him how his body works. He has retained so much of what she’s taught him and applies it to his everyday movement and activity. Lauren not only helped him physically but also mentally. I have worked with Lauren for almost a year now and she is an amazing Pilates instructor. I started Pilates to complement my running and improve some weaknesses/issues I had developed over the years from running. Little did I know the amazing benefits of Pilates.
