Terrible billing practices. I tried to cancel my membership multiple times and was told it was processed, yet they continued to charge me — even pulling funds from my credit card after cancellation. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I do not recommend this gym.

Worst LA in the state. Very poorly managed— there are times when 10+ machines are broken for months at a time, rude members are allowed to ruin the experience and management is friends with them. The manager spends half of her time fraternizing with male patrons while being rude to the women. The OM location is not worth the membership fee. Notice how no one acknowledges the bad reviews but they are front and center to thank the kind reviews. I’ve been coming to this location for 3+ years and it hasn’t gotten any better. In the other employees defense, the front desk and custodial staff are very kind, attentive and helpful.

Outstanding Gym and Trainer Experience

This gym is top notch, clean, well maintained, and in a great location. My personal trainer Charles is exceptional. From day one he took the time to listen to my goals and designed a personalized program that focused exactly on what I wanted to achieve. He does not just tell you what to do, he explains each exercise, the purpose behind it, and how it benefits your body and overall progress.

Thanks to his expertise and guidance, I started seeing visible results in less than a month. Charles is truly a professional who knows his craft and motivates you to become your best self. I am so glad I joined this gym and even happier to have found such a knowledgeable and dedicated trainer.

The treadmills at this gym continue to malfunction. From the incline feature not working to the treadmills abruptly stopping/shutting off in the middle of your run. Continuously experiencing the machine suddenly shutting off while running is super scary and dangerous; and instead of getting new, safe machines, they keep putting Band-Aids on the broken ones, making it only a matter of time before a malfunction happens again. On top of that, many of the treadmills have broken or missing pieces that have previously cut my hand while using the treadmill. These broken/malfunctioning treadmills are a safety hazard. LA FITNESS in Owings Mills is getting way too much money from its members to have faulty machines that are causing harm to the people using them. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Sorry customer service I came in to sign up and activate my membership there was 3 people working up front. One lady was at the desk on the phone laughing a d joking with someone the other 2 said they couldn't activate the membership I would have to wait for about a half hour for someone to help me... no thanks I'll switch back to Crunch and get workout tonight at home

The staff and members are all great. I’m disabled and everyone there lends a hand if I need one. I once walked the pool for an hour and then entered the sauna before changing into my street clothes.

Going from cool water to dry heat after my hard workout, caused me to have a hypoglycemic event and pass out.

Luckily the two guys in the sauna with me realized what was happening and carried me out to lay me on one of the changing benches. They called 911, and by the time I regained consciousness the paramedics were there giving me oxygen.

That’s the kind of people that go to this gym👍. I’m kinda their resident celebrity now. Some of the 30+ year old kids that work out with me have said I’m their inspiration.

Yeah; like a 77 year old, half dead on his feet man, could be an inspiration for anyone🙄.

I frequently visit this gym, and one aspect that stands out is the exceptional customer service. Typically, we enroll through the corporation I am employed with, and the new young lady with dreadlocks who aided us today was truly remarkable and hospitable. Gym isnt terrible just reaks of weed and no one re racks their weights. Reason for the 1 star is the manager. Other staff are nice but she literally wouldnt let me cancel my membership and had an attitude with me. I had to be rude and raise my voice with her and magically she was able to cancel my membership and give me the exact information i needed. Not going back until they find new management.

I have been a proud member of LA Fitness Owings Mills for six years, and throughout that time, Manager Marcia has consistently exemplified outstanding leadership, professionalism, and care for members. Whether I’ve had questions about equipment, class offerings, or general gym navigation, Marcia has always offered knowledgeable, solution-oriented support.

Her guidance was instrumental during a deeply personal chapter of my life—when I was battling breast cancer. At that time, Marcia went above and beyond to help me understand how to safely and effectively integrate the gym's offerings into my recovery and wellness plan. Because of her encouragement, I began attending cycling classes—something that became central to my healing journey. I genuinely miss her energy and instruction in those classes to this day.

Earlier in my membership, I brought in a guest who declined to join after observing what they perceived as a lack of cleanliness and organization. Since the change in management and with Marcia at the helm, those areas have improved dramatically. That same guest is now a paying member—a testament to the improvements under Marcia’s leadership.

Broken machines. A treadmill I got on could not incline. No reason buttons are popped off machines and the machine isn't scheduled for maintenance. Not enough Stairmaster's and one of them was jumping as I used it. Very dangerous. In the middle of my workout I stopped using it and made sure to warn the lady who was going to get on it behind me. This LA Fitness has poor maintenance towards the cardio machines. I have a membership to go to any LA Fitness and seeing this disappointed me. Also very disappointing that there's no dedicated mat area to stretch or do any body workouts.

Most LA Fitness gyms are ok. It's a gym, what more could you ask for. People want this and want that from a gym. It's a gym. All you need is working equipment and a clean facility. People say the front desk aren't friendly, well it would be nice but who can be too friendly making probably minimum wage in this economy?! You aren't going to be treated like that in any gym facility. It's not that serious and you can keep that "I Pay Your Salary" again, it's not that serious. Just go and workout and leave.

Update, this gym has gotten progressively worse. What happened to Barry, Nick, Omari? The staff isn’t that attentive and the majority of treadmills have been broken for more than a month?! Time for a leadership change.

’ve been a loyal member of LA Fitness for years and regularly visit locations like Towson, White Marsh, Canton, and the newer Glen Burnie facility. Tonight, I arrived at the gym at 10:35 PM and found the doors already locked, which was incredibly frustrating. As someone new to the area with a variable work schedule, I often rely on being able to work out around 10:30 PM. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first disappointment—many of the treadmills have been out of order for some time, and overall, the experience has been steadily declining. At this point, I’ve decided to cancel my membership tomorrow. Will be joining Anarchy. In the photo you can see lights off on several treadmills - indicating they’re broken.

It’s my gym i won’t complain too much but my issue is that there’s a kid club but now what’s the point of it because it’s closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Which I think is the most critical time when a child is out of school you would need them to go to the gym with you. I believe that’s pointless and helps no one.

My husband had a membership at this gym and he had motivated me to join him a little bit of context i have 3 kids a 7 year old and 2 under 2 and im a stay at home mom. I absolutely want to get my body moving but honestly in this economy my budget is a bit tight specially on one income and my other worry was my kid who will take care of them when i go to the gym my husband is a cdl driver and he can be gone for weeks at a time and have no family close by to drop them off for a few hours. He explained that this gym had a kids club and they watch the kid while you work out for the members. So i was convinced to go with him and explore the idea of getting a membership as well. MISTAKES I LEFT THIS GYM MAD AND IN TEARS. First the members ship was a bit expensive for me at this time not complaining this gym had a lot of features that are cool the kids club is not free and have a certain schedule just fyi. BUT THE WAY I WAS TREATED after saying that i couldn’t afford the membership and that i would just have to start with a old treadmill that was given to me.. Marcia (the woman that was helping us) said “your body needs more then a treadmill” in a very sarcastic tone and made another one saying “the treadmill wont do nothing for you” not only that but in several occasions i spoke Spanish to my husband since its my confort language expressing what my opinion on pricing and proceeded to make comment like “ now in english” she proceeded to question every part of my life as if i was putting excuses to not get the membership she questioned my husband work, my kids child care expressing when are you going to get moving when honestly she has no clue of what my life looks like. Honestly i had always feared gym because i was scared of the judgement and quite honestly i don’t see my self EVER going to one specially not at this location. She has a horrible attitude and she made me feel like i was begging for a membership. Sometimes while i was talking or asking questions she would interrupt by cutting me off and proceed to greeting people mid conversation. Honestly felt so humiliated, discriminated harassed its safe to say she should not be working there!!

This Gym is falling apart! Marcia (the manager) has a terrible attitude she's constantly harassing fellow gym members when Barry was running things this gym was more well kept. The equipment is always broke I have yet to see any Maintenace repairs being done to broken machines. The treadmills are missing buttons, some machines are rusted or barley working. The sauna is dirty as heck sweat stains from 2 years ago are visible on the old stained wood don't get me started on the sauna floor! The cleaning guy does a BS spot job I get they only pay $15 a hour but still things are always out of stock no paper towels or wipes to clean equipment. We are in OWINGS MILLS a very wealthy area makes no sense we are dealing with these issues. Mangement needs to step up ASAP! People are very displeased I can name you at least 20 plus people who have had run ins with marcia my next step is to contact corporate. I feel as though my hard earned money is being wasted I feel like I'm walking on egg shells in this funky smelling gym.

I recently started going to this location on the weekends before work as it is closer to my job. For weeks I kept forgetting to ask the lady at the front desk her name but finally did so last weekend. Destiny is always so pleasant when I see her. It’s great to encounter good energy before you start your day. She always has a smile on her face and willing to help or find out the information if she is unsure. I remembered her from Towson so when I saw that she was at this location I was so happy to see a familiar face when I walked in. She directed me to the locker room gave me a quick run down on where things were and let me know that if I needed anything let her know all while making sure she greeted everyone that came in behind me with a smile. She made the transition very smooth. The equipment could use a little update but outside of that I have no issues with this location.

My name is Rebecca Broadwater. I have been a member of LA Fitness for well over a year now; my “home” location is in Owings Mills, MD under the management of Marcia C. I would include her last name however she refuses to provide it. I purchased the membership because it is nationwide and I travel frequently for my jobs.

This is a formal complaint against LA Fitness based on racial discrimination, unequal “enforcement” of company policy as well as several other major cleanliness/hygiene issues at the facility.

1. I have personally seen roaches in the facility; there is a bug problem there and large roaches have been seen in the women’s locker room. Furthermore an exterminator was walking through the facility spraying toxic chemicals everywhere while members were there working out. I was on a squat rack when the exterminator walked around it and sprayed while I was holding a barbell on my back. Chemicals should not be getting sprayed while people are exercising.
2. Women’s locker room is always dirty and smells of urine. Sauna needs a good scrub down too.
3. Dirty equipment. There appears to be no cleaning around a lot of the equipment and a lot of dust/grime has accumulated.
4. Drug use inside the facility. I personally witnessed an individual walk all the way through the gym from the basketball court to the exit with some kind of lit item that looked, but sure did not smell, like a cigarette. Nothing was said to him by the management or the front desk as he walked out.
5. Targeted harassment towards my friend Keith Miller and I by Marcia C (manager of this location.) Details are below.

Recently my friend, Keith asked me if we could work out together so I suggested that he join LA Fitness. To be very clear - I am NOT a personal trainer nor do I, in any way, work as a fitness professional. I am a software engineer for a healthcare company and have worked in the tech industry for almost 25 years; I have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science as well as graduate degree in software engineering. I am also a bodybuilder and “fitness junkie” so people often mistake me for a trainer; I am always quick to clear up the confusion as I have zero interest in being a trainer.
On several occasions, Marcia C at the LA fitness in Owings Mills, has harassed my friend, Keith and I, saying that I’m training him when we are simply working out together like many others in the gym. Keith recently told me she has never once been pleasant or welcoming to him since he joined. I have very clearly told Marcia on several occasions that I am not a trainer or coach. I am happy to provide LA Fitness with a copy of my resume or transcripts even though I should not have to do so to avoid being harassed.

Marcia C took it up a level with the harassment at our last workout. Keith and I met at peak hours on a Monday evening around 6:30pm. During that time it is announced that they do NOT want people doing supersets due to the crowds. So we grabbed a bench near the dumbbells. As we are working through chest presses, Marcia comes over and is screaming at me that I can’t spot my friend. Meanwhile I look around and see lots of people working out in groups and spotting each other all over the place. Right next to us was a group of people on the bench press all helping each other out; Marcia said nothing to them. Marcia then proceeded to follow us around and yell at me that I can’t spot my friend at all or stand near the equipment. I was told I had to use different equipment, couldn’t be near him or talk to him. No one else working out in a group was subjected to this abuse by Marcia. The only difference between us and them is that my friend and I are both Caucasian while most of the clientele is African American or Hispanic.
I go to the gym for peace; I do not need a gym manager harassing me or my friend for absolutely no reason. I appreciate a swift response from LA Fitness to this issue.

I’ve been a member of this gym since 2017. I never had any issues with the staff, maybe because I don’t need to interact with them but they all seem fairly pleasant. The equipment could definitely use some upgrades. Most of the treadmills are missing buttons but functional. The other equipment is in fair condition. The smell…there’s always a weird smell. I understand it’s a gym but damn. It’s close to me so I go here out of convenience, maybe I should check out some of the other locations.

Over time, this gym has lost its sense of professionalism. One staff member in particular, Marcella, has displayed consistently unprofessional and inappropriate behavior toward gym members. She frequently harasses individuals, including myself, by imposing arbitrary rules and following members around the facility. Additionally, she engages in inappropriate interactions with younger male members who have clearly expressed disinterest. Her actions have created a hostile and uncomfortable environment, making it impossible to have a positive experience at this gym. As a result, I have chosen to cancel my membership and will not be returning.

We only got this, because my son is a wrestler. He loves the gym, but the ridiculous annual membership fee is stupid. They take your monthly payment and then days later they take a membership fee. Why does LA Fitness take a membership fee when you already have paid the high startup fee and a year in payments already. Can't wait for my kid to go to college and use the team facility.

The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I find members of the staff to be too pushy with trying to sell their personal trainer program(s). Within my first two days of joining the gym, I was pressured to try out their program, and I declined multiple times. I then received a text message the following week from them asking me to reconsider and I still declined. Another week later one of the staff corrected me on my workout, which I am fine with receiving corrections, but then they touched me, like trying to guide me in my workout. Again, I welcome corrections, and I don’t mind them being friendly, making conversation. What I do not like is being touched without permission. Especially since I’ve already declined their services numerous times. Other than that, I find the staff to be friendly and good people. The location is convenient for me and seems clean. Yes, some of the equipment like treadmills are missing buttons or broken down, but I assume there will be maintenance or repairs at some point. I still plan to continue my membership for now.

I’ve been a loyal customer and member since 2016. Over the past year the quality of the club has gone down tremendously. Multiple machines are always down, especially in the cardio section.

On top of that customer service has suffered terribly under the new management. The front desk operations manager Tiana and the Gm are both problematic and unfriendly. They constantly badger customers at check in and harass guest whether you’re visiting with a member or using a guest pass. I go the gym to exercise, clear my head and get away from my problems… not face more problems and arguments.

They offer nothing new to customers besides the same old equipment since it’s opened which half of it is malfunctioning . I seriously thinking about leaving and going to a different gym after having multiple bad experiences here at the Owings mills location.

Carole (trainer) is so uptight and obnoxious. She doesn't care for people who attend her class. Today i fell short of the stacks to make a high bench just like the others had done. There were barely 8-12 people attending the morning class and all of the stacks were used up. I stood there for 5 minutes confused as to what to do. How to make the high bench. She didn't even bat an eye or try to find out why i was standing there doing nothing. I had to finally pick my jacket, mat and walk out of the class. I wonder why she didn’t feel the urge to help or find out why i had to leave. This is poor hospitality and extreme arrogance! Id prefer attending Nina’s or Rob who care for people attending their session. Hopefully the manager understands.

I also want to add a shout-out and 5-star praise for Elizabeth, the dedicated and hard working young lady who helps keep the club clean and tidy. She’s a very dependable, conscientious and determined employee doing good work with a job that can be very challenging at times and often not appreciated enough. When the club is short staffed, I’ve seen her diligently cleaning out the men’s bathroom area without complaining. Honestly, anyone with this job responsibility should be getting biohazard bonus pay because some of the gentlemen at this club leave the bathroom area looking like a crime scene. That’s why it’s so hard finding employees to do this type of work. I hope Elizabeth gets the recognition she deserves and maybe a better job opportunity at the club.

Nice gym with a great sauna. HOWEVER, as of February 2025, they have been implementing a new rule that makes absolutely no sense.

Depending on the employee working, they close the gym AND the locker room 20-30 mins before they are scheduled on Google to close for “cleaning”. Their hours haven’t been updated, they just close when they feel like it, and it changes daily. What they’re supposed to do and what has been done prior, is an attendant walks around at the last half hour and clean while folks are in there. Now they are forcing people to leave.

Not only is it inconsistent, it’s inconsiderate to the people that come in the later evening. If the hours on the website say you all close at 11, CLOSE AT 11, not 10:20, not 10:30, not 10:45. Thanks.

I’ve been a loyal member of this gym for five years, but lately, the experience has been frustrating. On Sunday, I was told the locker rooms close an hour before the gym!! how does that make sense? Am I supposed to leave my belongings behind after a workout?

Then today, I was unnecessarily held up at check-in because the front desk claimed my account was past due, despite using the same card and account for years. I even showed my receipts and bank statements, and my app confirmed that my membership was up to date. Yet, they still delayed me, causing me to miss the only class I take here.

This level of mismanagement and inconvenience is making me seriously reconsider my membership.

On January 1, 2025, a cold day brought me to LAFitness, for a workout. When I arrived, there were several ladies at the front desk to sign in. Obviously, they had the same problem as I had. They had a new insurance starting January 1st. Tianna had to deal with teaching us how to contact new insurers to make sure that our retirees and their new companies will be cover our wellness programs. She was calm, patient and should be commended for handling all these concerns with a smile and a peaceful, pleasant demeanor! I told Tianna, that if I were her, I would have taken January 1st off!

I,ve had a membership here for about 8 years everything was great until about 5 months ago at this location they hired 2 new ladies to the staff, one is the operations manager and the other is general manager for this gym, they harass you while your working out continuously taking weights off of machines that you are clearly using, if you come to play basketball they will come and kick every one out the gym at any given time for completely no reason at all, they talk to the members as if they are talking to kids it’s just disrespectful and their attitude is terrible, i’ve personally helped both of these ladies take weights off of machines towards the end of the day out of the kindness of my heart and in return they have did nothing but try to get me kicked out of the gym since they came. Making false incident reports saying i was smoking inside the gym while that statement alone is ridiculous there are several cameras inside the gym that shows me working out. There was a point where all the staff and members at the gym were like family seeing each other everyday sharing small conversations or long ones about the very different life that you each have i’ve ran across some good people here at LA fitness but until those 2 ladies are fired and kicked out of the club LA fitness will never have that same feeling again

I just joined LA fitness recently in the past 3 months and it is by far the best gym I have been in! My favorite thing about this gym is how clean the women’s bathrooms is which is wayyyyyyyy better compared to the other gyms I have visited in the past year! One of the custodial members (tall, man, beard, plus sized with glasses) I didn’t get his name but he did a great job at making sure the area was clean during workouts! And very polite too! I always try to come to the gym between 3:45PM or an hour before they close and it’s always the best experience! Keep up the good work!

Where do I start….:.
Personal Training area smells like sewage.
Equipment is ALWAYS missing. PT spends a lot of time walking around the gym trying to find equipment that should’ve been in the PT area.
Random people venture in the PT area at their leisure….mats are ALWAYS dirty…..big difference in comparison to the other neighboring locations.
POOR MANAGEMENT OF THE PT AREA.

I sat down with new PT manager Ryan and was assured that he cancelled my PT membership only to find out this week that he did not and I was charged for an additional month….SHADY PRACTICE BEWARE. I heard of others complaining of this same issue with RYAN.

The overall gym is beyond DISGUSTING!
Smells awful, always out of wipes, machine and floors dirty, equipment broken and the list goes on.

The only positive is the location for me and the front desk is always pleasant.

I got a chance to speak to Ryan regarding the issue with my PT plan not being cancelled and he was very receptive and helpful with correcting the issue. I want to make sure I am leaving a fair review. I am still annoyed that I had to go through that but happy it got rectified.

The people and workers are nice but the facility needs updated. The equipment is rusting and a lot of the cardio machines are broke. The members leave trash and weights everywhere instead of putting them back. The weight room area smells like sewage and a cockroach almost went into my gym bag. They should be having someone come every night to clean the whole gym and you can tell they don’t. When I am one of the first people to enter the gym and it’s still a mess from the day before. Considering the amount of money we pay every month, it definitely needs to be better kept.

The location is perfect. The staff are nice. Most of the equipment has rust which can make it hard to adjust to the weight I need. Each time I come in, there are numerous treadmills with buttons missing but still work. For over a month, a few of the sit down bikes had no straps for your feet. The water fountain upstairs is not working at this time. I could come here at the time of opening and it will still have a bad smell. I opt for the Severn location when I can because I would rather drive 25min for the LA fitness there because it smells clean, and it has more equipment that is not rusted. The fitness class selections here in owings mills are great though. I wish the this facility would email the members of this gym what they are doing to better the equipment and fix things around here. I would be more understanding and probably wouldn’t have written this review.

This gym is filled with employees that either watch people come and go into the gym daily and then… depending on if an individual goes to the pool, times their moves.. especially those that go to the gym daily. And they will break into your locker and steal your things! After filing a complaint, they will not care or act nonchalant about the whole thing. Should report to the Better Business Bureau because they don’t care about your belongings as long as they can steal from you. Do NOT PUT THINGS IN YOUR LOCKER.. the employees here will watch you especially those that work there daily. Since I have known multiple people including family members go to this gym and have gotten things stolen and their locks broken, snapped in half that can only be done with a bolt cutter. Other gym goers won’t memorize where another individual puts their things, it would be the employees that go in and do their cleaning. Don’t waste your time going to this gym, save your money and time and prevent your things from getting stolen!!!

I am beyond disappointed with the lack of customer service and incompetence displayed by LA Fitness. Six months ago, I made it clear to a representative at the Owings Mill location that I wanted to cancel my membership. Despite their assurance that it would be promptly handled, my membership remains active, and I've been continuously billed for the past half-year. This blatant disregard for my request has caused me significant financial strain and immense frustration.

Repeated attempts to resolve this issue with the customer service department have been futile. Not only have I been deprived of the service I no longer wish to use, but I've also been unfairly charged for it. Six months of erroneous billing is utterly unacceptable.

I demand immediate cancellation of my membership and a refund for the unjust charges incurred during this period. Furthermore, I implore LA Fitness to overhaul its cancellation process to prevent other members from going through the same experience i did.

this is the first time ive had to go through a nightmare of gyms due to being active duty and not having to use the gyms out of town but LA fitness membership staff was completely trash when it came to one cancelling my membership and two not taking any actions for their incompetence.

If you are interested in the private training I advise finding a 3rd party trainer to meet you there. I signed a year contract for 1 session per week. Even though I paid for the year. At the end of the year, I had 40 sessions left over. Mind you THEY WERE ALREADY PAID FOR. They continuously charged my account $200 a few months later. The PT Manager whose name starts with an M wouldn't return ANY of my calls to resolve the issue. I had to call corporate. Thank goodness Karen S helped refund $200 out of the $600 taken out of my account and she stayed on the phone with me after the run around that has been my experience of calling my gym, and several in person visit during hours I was told to come in to resolve the issue. The membership packages are predatorial and cancelation is difficult. My overall customer service experience was poor over a 3 month period of no follow up and misinformation. This seems like a system issue rather than any individual. I would not recommend it. I still have $400 that was charged well after my original cancelation.

Overall I'm displeased with the communication and lack of follow-through from this establishment.

Put a review up a few months ago about the equipment and facility being dirty. Well must say they heard me. The equipments are in much better shape and the staff more friendly. The pool area and the pool itself is not as clean as I would like it so I avoid that area until they address it. Ring around inside pool and the paramitor around the pool exterior that used to be white is very dirty. Cleanliness is top priority for me. Numerous pieces of equipment are always broken and the customer service is pretty bad! The only reason why I’m still going to this gym is because it is so close to my house. I told one of the employees about a broken piece of equipment that was not marked as out of service and the employee gave me a “smart” remark and dismissed what I had told him, which was for the safety of those who may try to use that piece of equipment. Planet Fitness is actually better than this gym, at least all of their equipment works and the employees are friendly and helpful.

On Father’s Day I witnessed him be rude and threatening to a man in his 50s with his son/nephew.. and brother I’m assuming (who walked away). One of the worst gyms I’ve been to. Dirty gym floors, dirty equipment, disgusting locker rooms and dirty lockers, and an excessive amount of broken down equipment at any given time.

Ceiling return vents are caked with built up dirt and dust, exterior windows above 8 feet haven’t been cleaned in over a year, and all of the toilet paper holders in the bathrooms have fallen off and they just hang the rolls of toilet paper on the door hooks.

I understand it’s only $34.99 a month but is it too much to expect that things would at least be functional and clean? Cancelled my membership this week and the employee at the front desk said, “wow you’re the 6th one today”.

I won’t be back, it’s unfortunate that there is a lack of care here because it could be one of the more premium options in the area with a little elbow grease.

I switched to this LA Fitness because Reisterstown Planet Fitness allows teenagers to workout free beginning today, May 15, 2023. Then what happens today at LA Fitness Owings Mills- two adult males get into a rumble during a pickup basketball game. One guy’s eye is swollen, cut and bleeding. This location has made me consider terminating my membership and I just joined a month ago. I’m upset because I received a completely different positive experience at the Fleet Street location but that location is 30 mins away so not as practical to get to. They are wonderful there and it’s not as cramped and they allow you to use ALL the equipment. (Ropes, kettle bells , etc) to my surprise working out at the closest location to me which is owings mills, i was told I couldn’t use kettle bells unless I was working with trainer. Because people steal them… that sounds like a company security issue. At the owings mills branch it seems like it’s too many men just hanging around all the equipment all cramped up. The staff definitely pressures you to try to sign up for the training too hard to the point where it’s uncomfortable and you’ve said no or let me think about it at least 5 times before they finally stop pressuring you.

At 1 time I would have given Owings Mills LA Fitness 5 stars but they have gone down since their opening 5 years ago. For instance the equipment is old and needs to be replaced. There are too many "Out of order" signs on many of the equipment. This also includes the equipment in the Training area. The ropes are frayed and need to be replaced. The people at the service desk are more interested in looking at their phones than greeting members entering and leaving. The staff has become laxed and have taken advantage of the community. Whomever is the Regional manager of this LA Fitness site, they need to visit and make changes. Eventually members who are serious about training will start looking at other gyms in the area. I do enjoy going to the gym especially training and some of the classes but LA Fitness needs to get back to the enthusiasm they had 5 years ago.

It's disappointing that I pay to use the whole gym yet the equipment I desire to use is marked off for personal trainers and their clients only!
I literally worked out looking at equipment I needed to use with nobody using them. But area blocked 🚫 off. SMH I'm definitely searching for a alternative solution maybe youfit but we will see.

I’ve been a member at the Owings Mills location since it opened. It seems that the equipment breaks more frequently and the it takes longer to fix. Currently there are several pieces of cardio equipment that are out of order on the second floor. I’m also very disappointed in the overall cleanliness of the gym. The bathrooms, the floors throughout the gym, and the walls have a build up of dust and dirt that comes from a lack of attention. The building itself is nice and the location is great. However the lack of attention to the cleanliness of the facility has me considering cancelling my membership. My hope is that cleanliness, maintenance, and overall presentation of the facility begin to take priority so I can continue to enjoy my workouts at LA Fitness.

Worst gym in the country; a gym that must close for the better of the society. Every other treadmill is broke. Half of stairsteppers are broke. Gym is guaranteed to open late on Wednesdays.Extremely inefficient, sophomoric and callous management.

Just Don’t !!! Canceled my membership, was refunded and then the charged me 5 more months smh…and telling me they can’t refund my money but they will make sure the cancellation goes through this time
