Gym is great but a cold plunge? It’s a hot tub. It should remain a hot tub.

They have everything here. Cold plunge pool, sauna, steam room, pool, passage chairs, pickleball, classes, etc. All equipment is in good working order. Rarely is anything broken. Staff is excellent. Love this place!

I was a founding member and stayed at this gym for about three years before switching. What kept me there the longest was the kids academy. It’s great once your child is over one year old. There is high turnover, but most of the staff do a great job with the little ones.

You can bring babies as early as three months, but for children 11 months and under, you must reserve a spot. Even if the room is completely empty, they will not let you in without a reservation. You also cannot stay past your reserved time, even if the room is still open and no babies are there.

As a second time mom, this became very stressful. Babies have their own schedules, and if I arrived 10-15 minutes late, I was marked as a no show, which temporarily blocks you from making new reservations. I often had to call the desk to get help booking or changing times because I could not do it on my end. You also cannot modify your reservation within two hours of the start without calling.

It ended up being too much for me, so I decided to leave. There are other gyms in the area with childcare, none I found offer two and a half hours, but I did find one offering two hours with excellent childcare reviews. It has been amazing since switching. It is more free play based and does not have as many “bells and whistles,” but it works better for me and my kids.

As a bonus, my monthly gym cost went down by over $300, and this gym actually has more equipment.

I do miss the regular members I saw often, but I am grateful not to be stressed anymore about childcare reservations.

Edit: The Kids Academy is great, and the new manager, Latoya, is wonderful. The front desk staff was also extremely helpful when I needed to pause my membership while I was away. This review is solely about my experience returning and the reservation process.

The best gym in Annapolis area. Great service and amenities. I love the cold plunge! My mom and all her friends have been raving about cold plunges for a year or two and I am so grateful we have one!

Converting the hot tub into a cold plunge is by far the worst decision this gym has ever made

I have been a lifetime member for almost 2 years. Back when I joined, it felt like a true luxury club. As a woman in late 40s, I felt comfortable with the environment to work out at my pace. The staff was attentive and spa sections were kept clean.
In the last year, everything has changed. It is far from being a luxury gym. It is crowded, most of the staff that were friendly have left.
The spa section is ovet crowded, towels are left on the floor all the time. No one keeps track of the clothing etiquette. There are men in their boxers that move about in the spa area which is co_ed

The most recent change that came a couple of weeks ago suddenly is that they converted the hot tub to plunge pool. It is barely used and I have seen mostly younger group of men using it. So the club, instead of doing both, has chosen to serve certain population of the club and exclude members like myself that have been loyal. I would like to knownwhat percentage of the membership is women and how many of them actually ise the cold plunge.
I am disappointed and want to change the gym, only thing that is keeping me in the club is the pool. I will change as soon as I figure out where I can go to swim and work out at the same time.

Edit: almost everyone I've talked to at the health club agrees with this but probably few will post so I will. There is a 12 ft by 12 ft hot tub in the Pool and sauna area. This gym decided it would be a good idea to turn that massive hot tub into a massive cold plunge. For every one person that uses a cold plunge probably 50 to 100+ people use the hot tub. There's a cold plunge at the location in Arlington but it's only about 5 ft by 4 ft and people rarely use it and when they do they're only in there for a couple minutes. However many people including a lot of aging and elderly people have to use the hot tub before or after their work out to relax their muscles. The sauna simply does not do the same thing - the sauna induces sweat and that's great for other reasons but water transmits temperature into the body 20-30x more than air. I think to completely remove the hot tub and make a massive cold plunge is a really bad idea, it's not going to get very frequently used and I don't know who thought that up but it's just not a very good idea. If anything they could add a stand-alone cold plunge or a small one such as the one they have in Arlington to compliment the hot tub but to completely remove the hot tub is really going to mess with the athletic & recovery programming of a lot of people especially people that are getting up there in age.

Original Review - 5 stars
Great value for the consistency and quality. Recovery area is great. Only gripe is freeweight area was left pretty small after renovation, so it gets crowded at peak times.

Beautiful gym! Pickleball is so fun here w tons of courts and plenty of game play during open play even after working hours which typically at other gyms are hard to get many games in. Great program - Lisa from Pickelball was especially welcoming and helpful.

Huge shoutout to this beautiful gym w nice ambiance, top quality hygiene, and great location. Free parking that is plentiful as well as such a great commercial area right next to target Whole Foods Sephora and tons of other brands.

Can’t recommend this place enough!

5-stars for facilities, but 1 star for customer service. The front desk is typically rude or short as well as unwelcoming to new members. I brought a guest who was treated as if she were stupid because she downloaded the incorrect app for the guest pass. With membership being what it is, you’d think you’d be treated with a modicum of respect.

When I asked a friend who has been a member longer than me, she said the morning front desk staff are rude and unhelpful but the evening staff are friendly and helpful. There needs to be a culture shift within the Lifetime front desk personnel because customer service is the foundation of their jobs.

I joined this club when they initially opened. I ended my membership due to weird/rude vibes from the staff. As many of the other reviews have stated, you would think that for $200 a month they could at least be friendly. It just wasn’t worth the price to me.

The gym is great. No complaints there. The complaint is, what is the point of being a founding member when Lifetime doesn’t honor a founding member price? You’re breaking the cardinal rule of founding members. Stop the rise in founding member prices!

As a founding member, I have struggled over these few years with the value proposition. I too, was a 24 Hr fitness member and understood the increase in rates validated by a high-end club product. Experiences have included occasional but putrid, septic-like smells in the lower level due to drainage backups, weeks of broken heat or air conditioning in the cycling room, and poor, if any, maintenance on the stationary classroom bikes, rendering the electronics or gears unusable regularly. Months of construction and continuous movement of weights and equipment, without any offered financial discount, completely ruined my weight training. The cost for a one-day pass for guests is insane. I found it was cheaper to join Solid Core for regular Pilates/strength training as it offered more classes daily on the hour than what Lifetime wanted to charge me for a handful of classes during the week that didn't work with my schedule. That's right, an additional 200+ fee for Pilates. The sauna has become gross and needs the wooden bench seats to be removed, replaced, or sanded and refinished. The co-ed-only option for the sauna, at this gym's price, is also unacceptable. There are plenty of other options here in town at a more reasonable price.

I love Lifetime Annapolis! The gym is fantastic, and the recent expansion with the new massage chairs is a great addition. I definitely need to take more advantage of the classes they offer since they have so many great options. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. The sauna is another highlight I really enjoy.

The only downside is the weekend hours. Closing at 8 PM is early, especially at this price point. It would be great if the gym stayed open until at least 10 PM. For comparison, the Columbia club is open until 11 PM on weekends and midnight on weekdays. Extending the hours would make an already excellent experience even better!

No call backs when you apply. Their “lead” trainer Nick is super unprofessional. Front desk couldn’t be bothered. Gyms nice but day pass is $50. You can get a better workout and training else where. Better gyms in Annapolis near by.

I really do love this gym but I wish they wouldn’t let people into classes if you already reserved a spot. I also wish they had more cycling classes. For example, there are no cycling classes on Thursday at all, then none on a Friday evening. Some people want to be able to go right after work everyday.

From a moms point of view I ADORE the child care center. I can’t wait to see them expand the hours, but so far I love it. The locker rooms are always clean, people are friendly, the staff is nice. They have so much to offer.

Still wonderful, yes expensive. But you pay for what you get, no gym can top the cleanliness and the class offerings.

I have visited Lifetime on several occasions as a guest. However, I must note a recurring issue I have experienced during my visits. On a couple occasions, I encountered an issue with the front desk attendant, a blonde employee, who seemed to have difficulty locating my information for check-in.

Despite having previously provided my ID and had my picture taken for their records, I was unexpectedly denied entry today. The attendant insisted on seeing my license, in addition to the debit card I intended to use for payment, even though I had been assured during my last visit that I was in the system and all was set.

This inconsistency in their check-in process and the inconvenience it caused me today was disappointing. I hope this feedback can contribute to improvements in their customer service and operational efficiency.

This place is amazing!! The staff are amazing, the classes are amazing, the personal trainer I had was amazing (shout out to 'Kat', she helped me safely recover from a shoulder injury), and the facility is spectacular. So clean. Everyone, including the members, are alway courteous and friendly. I was considering moving out of Annapolis, but can't because of my gym. I just love LifeTime!

Really rude staff, with the exception of Brandi and Pebbles, who are amazing. Older guy at the front desk doesn’t even bother to say hello—ever. That is the most basic function of his job. Manager is extremely rude and arrogant. Poor class scheduling—equipment is always busy. And dirty for the price of membership. Check any piece of equipment/machine at anytime—covered with dust and hair. Mopping the main floors does not constitute regular cleaning.

Annapolis Lifetime Fitness is certainly a beautiful location in the middle of a busy shopping center. Great location for working out at the gym, relaxing in the steam room and then getting a meal at the Wholefoods next door. Even though you get to know members quickly by how tight space is, there is more than enough equipment to get a great workout and not wait.

The kids center doesn't seem to have any classes or programs like other lifetimes and the pool area is only a dual lap lane experience. I think the owner photo of the pool was a artist concept because it still kind of feels like a mix of lifetime and 24hour fitness.

Its a nice experience where you can take care of yourself and stay on track by getting your groceries at Whole Foods next door. Staff at the front was pleasant.

Note this is the smallest Lifetime in the MD VA area if you are used to the 91k sq ft facilities.

Went in to check the place out having been a 24 Fitness member prior. Wanted to try a one day pass and the price was ridiculous as well as the monthly memberships.($170 a month) I could somewhat live with a certain price point if the facility was truly nicer than 24 Fitness, but the amenities are the same and the staff was rude and extremely pretentious. Lifetime came in an out lipstick on a pig then asks for absorbent rates. Spend your money elsewhere!

I visited this new location on a guest pass and am super jealous of the full time members! This is a state of the art facility. I didn't even have a chance to check out half of the equipment/classrooms/amenities this gym has to offer and was blown away. Equinox in NYC has nothing on these guys. Thank you to the front desk team for being so accommodating - I will definitely be back next time I'm in town!!

The facility itself is very nice. The pricing is premium. My family joined as "founding members". One of the main attractions for us was the childcare as we have 2 kids under 2 yrs old. We frequented the facility heavily in it's first few months of operation and had a good overall experience. Attendance over the subsequent months was sparse due to a tight family and work schedule. On our first time back in about 2 months (a Saturday morning) I was stopped at the front entrance and immediately / aggressively solicited for a donation before even checking in. At check in I was told I needed to get rid of the coffee I just purchased around the corner. Apparently the dues are not enough of a revenue stream and the facility requires you purchase anything other than water that you plan to consume on site from their concessions bar. Bringing in a coffee from outside was never an issue over the first few months. This experience, while a minor inconvenience, left a very bad taste in our mouths based on how it was handled. Additionally, the childcare hours of operation have also been notably trimmed back from the original available times with no reduction in dues. Most notably the functional training area (free weight racks / platforms) have now been set aside for classes during peak hours so if you like to work out independently you will want to avoid typical morning / evening / weekend attendance to have reasonable access to this equipment. As noted the facility and equipment itself is quite nice but our individual experience of late has left us wanting and provided the impetus for the negative overall review. For a facility that brands itself as focusing on a premium guest experience we have certainly not been feeling that as of late. Not sure if the $ is worth the experience for us moving forward.
