With a BS in Exercise Science from Gonzaga University, personal training certifications from the ACSM, ACE Youth Fitness Specialist, AFPA Pre/Post Natal, and 20+ years of coaching / training experience, Maria has both the expertise and know-how to safely guide you towards your goals in a fun and productive way. As a former elite athlete and now a mother of two, she understands that life has many transitions and that our needs evolve with age. That’s why Maria tailors programming specifically to meet you where you are - whether you’ve never worked out or are a competitive athlete – you can trust that each workout is customized to meet your needs.

I have been going to Maria for almost 2 years. That’s the longest I have ever worked out without interruption! That’s a miracle. Maria is knowledgeable, funny and motivational. Her expertise goes beyond physical training, she understands nutrition as well. I am 67 years old and Maria the Trainer has offered me the flexibility and longevity I want. I strongly recommend her!

Maria helped me get my life back, truly.
When I first started going to Maria, I was dealing with a very difficult personal situation. I was depressed, had no confidence, and had lost touch with my body. I no longer felt secure, proud, or confident in myself.
Maria helped me get all that back - and even more. After the last six months with Maria I’m feeling better than ever - I appreciate my body again and am proud of how much stronger I’ve become.
Maria is kind, will meet you where you’re at in terms of exercise ability - but will still push you enough so that you’re actually seeing results. She’s flexible and will coordinate with your schedule, and will work with you to meet the goals that you want to achieve! I simply cannot recommend her enough. If you’ve been on the fence about getting a trainer - then she’s the one to embark on that journey with.

Maria is wonderful! She does an amazing job of listening to your concerns and tailoring each workout to meet your skill level and goals. She is also a pleasure to hang out with for an hour while you're working out. She makes you feel like part of the family and easily distracts you so you don't notice how hard you're pushing yourself until you really feel it the next day! Before I met Maria, I was intimidated by weight training at all and using the equipment, but she really helped me feel more confident in incorporating weight training into my workouts and gave me clear workouts to follow. I had the good fortune of training with Maria for a couple years while I lived in the DC region, and she was by far the best coach and trainer I’ve had the chance to work with. She has a unique ability to help you feel comfortable if you’re new to training, while also providing the right amount of challenge as you continue to grow and improve in your own fitness journey.
In my experience with her, Maria led several 6-week long HIIT-style boot camps for small groups of 2-12 people. Each session included proper warm-ups and stretching, while also incorporating a variety of stations and exercises for any ability level. We had the chance to be outdoors too, so she leveraged the physical space we were in (stairs, park benches, running paths, etc.).
Maria constantly demonstrates her care for each client through her individual outreach, coaching, and support. Because of her motivation, guidance, and just general amazingness, I felt healthier and more determined to keep up with my workouts when I was training with her. I would wholeheartedly recommend working with Maria, whether you’re just starting out or well on your way along your personal fitness and health journey.

Maria is a fabulous trainer. She mixes up routines and workouts and always corrects form (gently!). As a rower and former basketball player, she has a deep understanding of fitness, nutrition, and recovery techniques, which is an asset for her clients. She trained both me and my husband when she was in DC and has a solid background in prenatal fitness as well. Maria is adept at training clients of all ages and fitness levels. Maria is AMAZING! To be honest, I am not the most athletic person and feared personal training. Maria has always made me feel comfortable and instilled confidence in me. She does a great job of assessing your abilities and modifying the workout for you.
She tries to make exercise a part of your lifestyle and not something that you dread doing. Maria's personality makes it easy to get through the workouts though you may feel it the next day. :) Maria has the ability to motivate you in and outside of the gym. I highly recommend her!

Highly recommend Maria for tailored training sessions. She came to the gym in my apartment building and created custom workouts for my back issues - modifications and strengthening abductors, etc. She also taught me how to workout better - more efficiently and effectively.
