Not a common reviewer but I just had to share my feelings. Mainly so that other families will save their kids from this place.

Twisters calls itself an elite facility but out of all of their teams this year none but one excelled. But don’t worry, you’ll be traveling around the country to finish in last place or the bottom. Do they develop the girls? No, there’s zero extra options and practice is 3 hours of the same thing over and over again.

How do they treat the girls? They use fear to push them. They routinely have extra flyers on teams and threaten the current flyers that if they don’t perform they’ll be replaced. If they miss a SINGLE practice even if sick, they’ll be replaced. Fear is their motivating tactic. We had a girl who had the flu who still had to come to practice bc she was being threatened to be kicked off the team.

Safety - after a brawl that was started by a man who didn’t even have a kid cheering severely beat up a woman in the middle of the facility. Put her in the hospital! Were any of the owners there? No…. When we had a meeting afterwards about safety they promised they’d have one of them there everyday. Lie! They said they’d do security cameras - it took two months!

Sports in general are supposed to be uplifting, and positive. Coaches are supposed to be role models. At twisters your coaches are cussing, yelling and intimidating the cheerleaders.

My daughter is on a team next door to twisters and we decided to take some tumbling classes at Twisters. Walked in to check out the gym and get her signed up and staff there are super attentive and sweet and seem to really care about what they do. Gym is beautiful and clean! When I had questions, staff were again, super attentive and answered all my questions with care!

My daughter took 1 class there and now they charge my credit card every month for the class. Of course no one ever answers the phone or returns an email. Not acceptable!

Our family has been apart of the Maryland Twisters MOCO family for about 2 years. We have been very happy and have seen so much progress in our child’s tumbling and cheer skills in such a short amount of time. The owners & coaches have been fantastic and truly care about all of their athletes.

Love MD Twisters MOCO; my 3 girls cheered for years and enjoyed every moment!!! We also had my twins 5 year old birthday party with all their friends/family and the gym was very accommodating and awesome!!! Would 100% recommend to everyone and anyone!!!

Being a part of this Maryland Twisters family has been nothing short of amazing. The friendships that I have built are forever and the coaching I have received has led me to many awards, multiple post season competitions, taught me discipline and many life lessons. My daughter was with the Maryland Twisters Moco/Gaithersburg program since it's inception. She started on Youth Level 1 and worked her way up to a Senior Level 6.
We have worked with the owners, the director of the program, and the coaches for 6 years before we moved to the Hanover location. We are an African American family. I would never put my daughter at a cheer gym that did not make her feel welcome and included. For the entire time we were a part of this prorgram, my daughter grew more skilled, stronger, and confident with the guidance of her coaches. Her race, color, or hair, was never an issue because there was diversity in the gym's ownership and coaching staff. For the older teams, the coaches worked with the the athletes to pick their hair and makeup styles for competition. My daughter made lifelong friends at this gym. The coaches and owners at Maryland Twisters MoCo understand that the image of a cheerleader has changed from that blonde haired, blue eyed little girl to a more inclusive one. They are creating a new image that includes everyone.

We will always be grateful for the care and generosity that the gym's owner showed to us. Maryland Twisters Moco will always be our family!!!

Our family has been with MD Twisters MoCo ownership and coaches for 7 years. Through great coaching and guidance, my eldest daughter progressed from level 1 cheer to level 6, and is now a college level cheerleader. My youngest daughter began with youth Poms and has progressed to Junior. They have both made amazing connections with the coaches, and dancers. Their confidence and skills have grown exponentially because of their experiences at Twisters Moco.

My daughter has friends, mentors, skills, and confidence as a result of her time at Maryland Twisters MOCO. Our family is one of the original families in our gym and have been there since it’s inception 5 years ago. The owners and coaches have nurtured my daughter in such a way that she has learned how to lead her team to a National championship and she has helped to console her team through a tough loss. Win or lose, this gym is special and I’m grateful for the love that this gym provides to my child. The gym is more than cheer. It’s family.

We are so happy with the cheer program at Maryland Twisters- Gaithersburg. Our daughter loves her coaches and friends! An added bonus that we love is that if we miss a tumbling class that our daughter can go another day of the week for a makeup classes.

Maryland Force Allstars has a beautiful, new facility. Their amenities such as a separate kitchen, party room, cubby room, sibling playroom, pro shop, working parent room and spacious waiting room with three bathrooms make them a standout among their peers. The cheer and tumbling coaches at Maryland Force are well-qualified, and thoroughly understand the all star cheerleading world. They are creative, encouraging, and push their teams to learn the skills required to be successful in cheerleading and life. Highly recommend!
