Merritt Gym at Buckingham is a great neighborhood spot. It’s smaller than some of the other locations, but it has everything you need for a great workout. The atmosphere is relaxed, which I really appreciate. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the space is always clean. If you’re looking for a more low-key gym with all the essentials, this is a great choice.

Oh my goodness, I love this treasure of a gym and it's affordable! My neighbor mentioned it had an Active Agers class, so I gave it a try and it's wonderful! I also decided to hire a personal trainer, and Patrick has really helped me with my goals. He's very professional and knowledgable, which makes me feel safe at age 63, and for the first time in my gym experience, I actually know how to use the equipment correctly and am seeing results. This gym has new equipment and is open 24 hours a day. You can't beat that. As for the people who work there, they're the best. Whitney works the desk and is very approachable and always has a kind word to say, and James is always friendly and kind as well. He went over and above and helped me find my water bottle, which was very nice.This gym does not make me feel like a number, and it's something I look forward to every week.

This gym has an amazing staff that is very friendly.The gym is always clean and the equipment well maintained. While working out during some snow fall, the gentleman that works the front desk went out and cleaned all of the member’s car’s windshields. Unbelievable great service.

I joined this gym after a horrible experience with Planet Fitness (harassment from employees) and wanted to find a good gym close to where I live. This gym is great. A colleague of mine recommended it (he is a member of the downtown Baltimore location). Friendly staff, clean environment, private restrooms, and never too packed. I enjoy doing my cardio here and stopping in to shower when I'm in the area. I'm glad there are better options than Planet Fitness in this area.

A brand NEW LA FITNESS opened right around the corner by ALDIs and LOWES that has has brand new equipment and a pool right around the corner.

Was a member for over six years and seen staff come and some and "James" need to go. Seem him almost get into a fist fight with customers and if he just focus on doing his hob verse chasing off MEMBERS LA fitness would be moving in.

Merritt fitness the place you go to pay more for OLDER dirty warn out rusty COVID bikes and equipment. The spin bikes have caked on rust from 20 years of sweat. If i was management I would be embarrassed this is what I offer. This isn't the 80s where its expected to have old rusty equipment. The poorly maintained work required equipment needs to be removed from the club. Just load it up and do it the correct way. A SAND BLASTING, add some new feet so your members can adjust the unstable bikes. LAST PICTURE are the bikes they traded and are nasty. They say new but new to the gym but old and ride poorly.

This an excellent gym. The staff are friendly and fantastic, and are always willing to help. The facility is also very clean. Though there aren't a surplus of machines, there are more than enough for a variety of workouts. This can mean that at the busiest hours you might have to wait a moment for one of the unique machines, but thankfully it is rarely crowded.

Great atmosphere, super clean facility, and absolutely awesome staff. This is where you go when your goal is to focus solely on working out and getting healthy. I never feel like a piece of meat here, unlike massive franchises nearby or have to wait 20 minutes for one machine. Everything is top-notch. Love this gym.

My home gym is Canton, but this gym is close to my job. I actually really like the vibe and it's never crowded. However, I do think it's a little silly not to provide towels when showers, hair dryers, soap, etc. are all provided. I understand not having laundry in the building, but it just kind of seems implied that there would be towels, even for a rental fee (which would be weird but not as weird as just not having them).

Absolutely love Merritt Clubs especially the Buckingham location. The Buckingham location has an impressive amount of equipment for the size of the gym. I can get a good workout no matter what time of day it is. Clean! The gym is always in order and the cleaning staff does an excellent job, they are the unsung heroes here. The management is excellent, James and Whitney make it a very personable experience every time I come in. They always find a moment to say hi and make sure I’m having the best experience possible. I’ve been a member at larger more well known establishments but this gym is in a different league. It will be my go to spot for the foreseeable future.

Trying to be very cautious with my words I like the gym but I believe James and Whitney discriminated against me. Applied for a job, had a decent phone interview, with Whitney. Received a callback from her, she wanted to schedule a meet with the manager James. Prior to her call I had just registered for membership and ask can I drop in later to pick up badge.
After the meet and quick tour with Whitney , she told me she will informed James I visited and get a time to meet with him. Never was contacted until I called the club and talked with James who not only seem irritated I had the audacity to call also brushed me off totally unprofessional, I don’t even think he cares or even want me as a member, let alone an employee. he made me aware I didn’t make the cut. Rejection is apart of life but not unfair treatment. From the change of heart from Whitney when she seen me physically, to the rude and unprofessional treatment from James. I do plan on escalating accordingly to the proper network. PLEASE CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP!! Don’t feel comfortable in the gym knowing they are bigots

Fantastic gym! I've been going for 3 years now and I love it. It's such a good community of people, always extremely clean, the staff is so friendly and plenty of equipment. I like how the gym is smaller and never too crowded. I've done BodyPump and Yoga here and really enjoyed both. I recently started training with Jon and he's been great too! Super easy to communicate with and does a great job at pushing me to meet my goals. I highly recommend this gym.

Convenient, 24-hour express gym located right off Rt. 100. Surrounded by greenery. Wonderful, friendly staff. They even remember your name and life story! Has all the equipment one needs. Well-maintained and sanitized. Has a separate room for yoga and fitness classes. Plenty of private changing rooms and restrooms with shampoo/body wash-stocked showers. Could also take advantage of their many offerings of virtual/in-person classes, personal training, prepared meals, etc.

I’ve been a member about 3 years now and it’s the best gym experience I’ve ever had. The staff are friendly and helpful. James is a great manager and trainer who makes working out fun. The gym is well maintained and they are always seeking different ways to engage members. I was initially a little nervous about continuing to work out during the pandemic, but Buckingham has taken so many precautions to ensure safety and are always well stocked with wipes. Despite having other gyms closer to home, I can’t see myself going anywhere else!

Great gym that hits all my needs. Open 24 hours, clean, friendly staff and plenty of parking. It's not exactly the largest gym but it's never been an issue since it doesn't get very busy at any one time. They also have individual bathrooms with showers.

Absolutely one of the few flawless, well maintained gym! The staff is 10/10, they are the complete opposite type of employees that are hired at Planet Fitness (so you know they're actually passionate and love the gym).
The size of the gym itself is enough for any decent workout. It may not be an industrial sized gym but even during peak hours, it's never packed. I love the changing room and private bathrooms, couldn't ask for a better setup for a gym (their 24/7 setup is amazing!).

Legit gym, very new as of March 2015. They have an abundance of machines and sanitary napkins, but what I love the most about the gym is that everything is of high quality. Each piece of equipment is incredibly robust and expensive. This gym only has one power rack, but it is a behemoth; easily dwarfing the size of the racks at LA Fitness and the UMBC gym.

Another thing I love about this gym is that it is open 24/7. In lieu of dedicated male/female locker rooms, this gym has a few unisex bathrooms and changing areas. It's unique, I haven't seen any other gyms do that.

I'm a fan of this gym. It never gets ridiculously crowded, and the clientele is a mix of seniors, working adults, and young adults. The whole place feels safe and secure.
