Clean gym and very nice but too many people sneaking in after hours! This is not okay. I had to yell at a group of kids and then two people tried sneaking in on my scan afterwards. Some other man let them inβ¦ but additionally, people are also personal training in here after hours. Please do something about thisβ¦

I LOVE this gym! Every single time I enter, someone welcomes me back with a smile. The gym has plenty of clean exercise equipment available for use. There are TV monitors all over for your viewing pleasure. The locker rooms are clean, tidy and welcoming. For the price and convenience this place is awesome!

I use to be a member here and I left and went to another gym. But long story short I had my little sister with me I picked her up from school and she had to use the bathroom so badly to the point she was crying and my joke is a little distance so I stopped at the nearby place and they told me no she can no use the bathroom go somewhere else. Then I remember this is why I left in the first place the staff members are RUDE AND IGNORANT! I hate this place with a passion.

This is the honda civic of Merrit gyms. Its not overly pretty, not particularly full of the coolest machines, but it gets the job done and won't let you down. 24/7 gym with everything you need minus sweat rags, what else could you want.

I really enjoyed my time here at the Cranbrook location. The staff was always kind and helpful. I accidentally left my membership active for 7 months. Somehow it stayed hidden from my bank account and I didn't realize how much money was taken out overall. When I call the billing department just to see about a possible refund. I spoke to Alicia Jones and she must have been the most rude person Ive spoken to. I'm a very understanding guy yet I was dealing with some financial difficulties hoping for the possibility of a refund. She came across with a very bad attitude when I requested for possible compensation. She showed no empathy for my situation and was very insensitive. Based on that I will never return to this gym again and never renew my membership.

After speaking to management regarding their unprofessional manager Katie, management seemed pretty unforgiving with regards to Katie. Katie spoke to her manager regarding our situation, and explained she was in a bad mood because she had to stay passed her staffed hours. Katie is extremely impolite and needs training on her customer service skills. Being aggressive and impolite to the people who provide you salary is quite unmannerly.
Edit: Both people walking in were members. I'm entirely unsure as to why she is saying we were bringing a non-member in the club. There was never a non-member ever walking in the club. Both of US were MEMBERS of the club, and she treated us both with extreme disrespect.

Wrote an extensive email to management about how unprofessional the manager at this location is (Katie). Waiting to hear back. Members be aware. Extremely poor customer service by Katie.
Edit: I'm really confused as to why the club manager is saying both members walking in were accompanied by a guest? Both people walking into the club were both MEMBERS. There was never a guest involved or brought into the club without permission. Both people who entered the premieres were both MEMBERS. I apologize for that not being clear in the initial review.

Katie was extremely rude to a friend and I upon walking in the club.
Edit: I see the owner has responded. Both, my friend and I are members at the club. We were surely aware we scanned one card in, as one was not available at the time (there was no guests). Upon walking in, Katie took a quite unprofessional approach to the situation, and was very aggressive in her words to the both of us, while we both remained extremely calm. After contacting management, she admitted to her manager her frustration, and it was all due to her staying past the time she got off. Regardless, this is not our issue, and she should not have talked to us in the regard she did. Katie is extremely unprofessional and an impolite manager.

Cranbrook is an express location so it's smaller, but the staff are always kind and it has enough equipment for most types of workouts. Jake in particular is always friendly when I come in and has taken care of me multiple times when discussing my membership, it's made the experience a good one! Would deff recommend this location!

If you're looking for a full sized gym, this particular Merritt isn't for you. Having said that, this location has everything you need for any complete workout. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and helpful at all times. The location itself is rarely crowded and the staff are diligent in cleaning the equipment, even if they fully view a client conducting a wipe down after use.

This is my first online review ever and I had to write it because after being a member of this club for 5 years, I am disappointed with the way they rewarded loyalty. First of all, some of the staff they have are really rude. A club's professionalism is not measured when you are joining the club.. obviously, the staff will be sweet to you to earn your business. But it should be technically measured when you have to leave the club since you have to move to a different state, that's when Merritt Athletic showed its true colors. I REGRET giving them so much money for 5 years. I should have joined Brick Bodies instead. All my friends went to BB and I stayed loyal to Merritt. Anyways, I am highly disappointed with the way they handled my cancellation. It felt like I am canceling my apartment lease and not a gym membership. It's not like they had to 'sublet' my lease. They charged me money even though I canceled my membership before my billing cycle. I know a representative will come and reply on my review saying 'It's our policy'. Don't bother writing that! That policy must be changed. I WAS UNDER NO CONTRACT! and I had an emergency to leave the state within 7 days. I FIND IT RIDICULOUS that after being a loyal member of the club for 5 years, you did not consider waiving the policy or tried to be nice to me! How awesome! Thank you for being SO RUDE! Well, I am done wasting life's 5 mins writing a review for this club but I had to write it! Such 'money minded' clubs should not get away!!

I love this club! The staff is very friendly and supportive. The trainers are knowledgeable. It's an express, so it doesn't sell smoothies or have a pool & towels, but if you're just looking to workout, this is the place.

You can take this review with a grain of salt. Merritt Cranbrook is my least favorite club, unless it is just me and I have been spoiled by the Canton, Downtown, Towson, and White Marsh locations. For start No towels..? Every other Club has em. The cell phone reception barely worked, I know you're at the gym to work out and not be on phone blah blah but if an emergency would arise... Yes, I have a good company AT&T and the bill is paid. Second, the Sauna doesn't work correctly 85 degrees feels more like a nice summer day. Lastly, Call a plumber or something the showers had one temperature which was extremely hot. Again I understand you are here to work out, But why would I pay all this money when the main reason I belong to the club is the amenities, Saunas, Showers, and Towels plus much more. Everything else was great very clean as usual equipment works etc.

I love this gym. Itβs convient and has everything. My only complaint is since Iβm new to weight lifting it becomes a huge hassle when people donβt remove their weight from the barbell when they are done. That means my 120 lbs, new to weightlifting body has to stop her workout and remove 250 lbs of weight from the smith machine just to use it. You would think people would be courteous to remove it when they are done. Not everyone can lift 250 lbs!!! The last thing I want to do is hurt myself. There should be a sign stating weight should be removed when done.

I joined 6 months ago under a promotion. Remain a member for 3 months with an account in good standing, I will receive the 4th month free.. well its July and my bank account have been faithful debted for 6 months and never received the promotion. Not until they thought I switched jobs which would warrant me not to receive the employee discount anymore. They began emailing me to bring an up to date work i.d. or else they wold revoke my current rate. It took them less than an hour to honor the promotion after I have been inquiring about it for the past 3 months. Smh. No customer service at all.
