About the only drawback is the male urinals only working for what feels to be 60% of the year and wifi is spotty in very particular areas, otherwise great equipment and great atmosphere

Needs some east side locker room TLC. Has been βpatchedβ for years. Showers and stalls are pitiful as compared to the west side. Saw pix recently and doesnβt compareβ¦.sad. Fiscal limitations are evident.
There has been a hole off the volleyball floor for YEARS; fact. Canβt even fix the small stuff (broken window syndrome.)
Yet, we are blessed to have what IS offered and operational. Thank the staff too! They take care of us!

Open 24/7 when you sign up. They offer classes, free weights include squat racks, bench area, free weights up to 150 lbs (I think), cardio room, and tons of misc stationary machines. 2 locker rooms each for men and women with a separate sauna for each. Swimming pool inside the gym. Friendly staff. Gets busy at around 2pm but can still get a workout in since they offer such a variety of machines. Basketball courts that can be used for table tennis or pickleball, Volleyball court, and even an upstairs area for racquetball. Their outdoor area has a turf field and even a baseball field.

Great place to work out, and if you're a civilian or military, it's free! The staff is attentive, the facilities are more than adequate and it's a piece of history. Weights, basketball courts, pool, bowling alley, and more!

Still no sauna, they no longer offer towels, and the bowling alley is being poorly managed.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Seriously, the Navy, in general, has the WORST gyms.

Weight room is great, high quality equipment and friendly staff, Iβve never seen the area be dirty in a year of training here. Just about everyone wipes down equipment and is respectful about sharing or spotting if you need it. Worst I could possibly say is that maybe one time the bathroom ran out of paper towel, thatβs how nice this gym is lately.

Great staff (polite, friendly, helpful). But if someone wants to send a couple $M over this way for some HVAC and a face-lift that'd be great.

For the love of all that is holy in this world, can we get a/c in the open-area? I overheard someone say today, "I feel like I'm on a Marine base in this heat." They went on to say they worked on a base in Texas that has a larger hanger gym with a/c.
I really hope the employees are well compensated for working in Hades' armpit.
The new equipment is great, though.

Bigger doesnβt necessarily mean better. Itβs an expensive space, but the gym equipment is pretty limited. As a (disabled) veteran, I was just denied access. It was super awkward. Itβs like as soon as I discharge from the military, Iβm just guarded like trash. Like I didnβt just dedicate my entire young adulthood in service to my country. Iβm still contracted with the government and I work on the base. Apparently Iβm not able to even enter the building unless I purchase a membership that is exponentially more expensive than the gym facility is worth as a monthly fee. I Potomac total fitness is literally right down the road. Just get your membership there. Itβs 24 hour access and itβs got all the gym equipment you need and then some.

Just recently started working on base. This was my second time at the drill hall. First went fine, equipment was decent. I had a crop top on with high waisted sweatpants (as a girl itβs easier for upper body movements with a crop top). Today I wore something similar, sweatpants with high waisted shorts underneath (covering more than half of my stomach) and a sports bra with a large hoodie over, completely covered. I go to take my hoodie off and I am immediately met with one of the workers running over to me and very rudely yelling βput your jacket back on! Put it back on! cuz ya, no (as she is looking me up and down with a disgusted look and staring at my chest which was covered) put it back onβ. I have seen other girls in similar attire and have never in my life been yelled at for wearing a sports bra to work out in. On a side note, I had scoured the website and there was not a single mention of dress code. The lady came off like she was on a serious power trip with absolutely zero kindness, and a very condescending attitude as she looked me up and down disgusted while saying so. On a side note, I am a rather slender person, so sports bras completely cover me because there is not much to cover. Needless to say I will not be back, even if it is free. A βpleaseβ or a nicer attitude wouldβve gone a long way.

Typical base gym, nothing special. Has everything you need for a good work out. Only problem is the AC is down (or just bad) and the lifting equipment is in the middle of the gym on what used to be a basketball court. If you like to work out and can't afford a gym somewhere else then this is the place to go, but if you can spare some money on a gym membership your better of at going out in town.

This is by far the best military gym I've been to (and one of the best gyms in general). There are 8 power racks, 4 platforms, an Elite FTS competition bench/rack, a yoke, Rogue belt squat machine, numerous Rogue and Eleiko barbells, and a ton of other cool stuff. Kudos to the people that set this place up!

You need a reservation to go which is fine but it isn't clear on the website. The A/C when we went was either not working or non existent which made it difficult to workout since it was 90 out. You also need to look around to find that different things are housed in different areas. Once you walk past the volleyball court you come to the free weights. The first door on the right is for people who have brought their young kids with them. The next door has weight machines and across the basketball court is another room with cardio equipment. If you know where to find everything there is plenty but if you are new or visiting it can be confusing. The hours are also a bit strange. And depending on where you look they are different. I'm not sure what time they open...either 0300 or 0500. But in the evenings from 1700 to 1900 it is reserved for active duty and their families. We were visiting and would go between 0800 and 0900 and it wasn't crowded at all.

They typically only have one of their fans working. Feels very muggy inside. Lots of court but small weight room. They always have at least a couple cardio sheets down. They frequently don't keep up with refilling their wipes, and often there is no employee in the weight room to notify.
Also wish they were open bast 9pm during the week if they can afford to open at 3am. They should also maintain longer hours on the weekends as well when everybody is off.
