Myself and my husband have been members of Planet Fitness for awhile and have gone to multiple locations. We have brought our 13 YO son with us many times and he has always been allowed in no problem as their policy is age 13. But at this location the manager Brooke was very rude and unhelpful. Stating firmly that he MUST have an ID. Which he is 13 and homeschooled so of course he doesn’t have one. Underage children aren’t required to have ID. This woman could have worked with us like all the other locations have but she left a very bad taste in my mouth being rude and unhelpful and adamant. He is an already added guest under our account and has come numerous times.
Honestly rude and unhelpful people plain and simple shouldn’t be in customer service. They drive guests away. Makes me never want to visit this location again.

Very nice gym. They do a good job of keeping all the equipment clean, and if anything gets broken it is usually repaired within a few days. You won't see anything that's just sitting around broken for weeks on end. I can't speak to any of the premium amenities, but I do know they have more features available than what I've used. They also have lockers available, free water, some merchandise to buy.

If I had one complaint it would be that the television channels available aren't exactly the most captivating programs. It seems like every time I go every TV is stuck on a news station, Law & Order or a sitcom. I mean I get that you have to have something that is for a general audience but I don't know some more like gym or health-based programming would be appreciated or even just something actually fun to enjoy while I'm riding with the bike.

I pay a monthly and yearly fee and can't even use the tanning nedni want because management here is nonexistent. In fact since this. New one took over during the time of COVID (cant remember if it was before, during or right after) this gym has went to crap. Reorganizing perfection. Now it looks like someone's basement. And taking the paper towels put of the tanning rooms was so stupid. Now we have to unroll towels and take it in with us and if we need more it's in the hall. Thats been bothering ever since they did that. Management isn't management. In my opinion. Never in my life have I ever heard of managers taking so much time off,, or time to fix simple things. If the next time I go in and it still isnt fixed I think I will blow my top and call is bigger boss.
P. S. There's always a something sitting in the main Hall waiting to be put away or stored and sits there and sits there. What kind of manager allows that? This one does.
The only good thing here is the people working overnights. Atleast most of them. . They are almost too nice.

I have been going to this gym location for the past five years with no serious issues until now. I was there earlier this week, and I had just finished working out when I started getting dressed in private room on the left side of the men's locker room and someone knocked to see if someone was in there, and I said yes. A few minutes went by and then another knock came and someone else said "are you coming out anytime soon because other people would like to use that room now". I was very surprised that this was happening to me because no one has ever tried to hurry me up from that room before until now. After I got dressed which wasn't no more than 10 minutes, I spoke to the employees at the front desk, the young man told me that a member of the gym asked him to knock on door of the room I was using to ask if someone was in there. I asked him is there a time limit in that room? He said no, there is no rule for how long a member is inside that room. Some people just go out of their way to make your life more difficult. But, I will not let them get to me ever.

I came in as usual for my workout, and I as denied service when I am a Black member holder. This is not my home gym. My card has not yet updated to my picture, I don’t know why I have contacted my home gym about it and they’ve said they fixed it multiple times. I am very angry at this facility because they did not handle it well at all and wouldn’t even let me buy my drink. They basically told me to leave and that I couldn’t even workout although the situation wasn’t even my fault. I am extremely irritated and if it were me, I would have said “okay, let us call the facility and verify if this is true” and if yes than let me work out. It’s not my fault that they didn't do THEIR job. Worst experience ever this place doesn’t even deserve a one star review. As well as when I worked out here before they didn’t deny me but i noticed the staff didn’t do their job, the facility was extremely dirty especially the bathroom (women’s i don’t know about men’s), as well as half the machines were out of service.

This facility is always so dirty. Spend 30 a month for rags to left on the floor for days. Soap scum so thick on the shower walls, it falls off in chunks. A few staff is pleasant. While the male manager is rude and child like manner. Everyone has an excuse for the lack of the minimum requirement job. Babysit, clean, stock the cooler and sometimes paperwork for customers. So I can't figure out for the life of me. ...why is the place dirty!!!! I will be looking for another gym, well company all together. No longer worth it! Here at 1230 on a Friday afternoon they have 20 treadmills off and all 5 stair steps off to mop the floor with strong chemicals. This is ridiculous I understand having a clean place but it's definitely inconvenience especially when I pay to use the equipment and can't become of limited availability at my time window to workout. I informed him that I wanted to cancel my membership and he seemed upset about it and very dismissive saying I will have to speak with a manager to cancel which does not make sense at all if I’m here now to cancel. I want to be very clear here. I am giving only 1 star due to the owner of this establishment, not the staff nor management.

Mgmt and staff are always very helpful and gracious with their time and responses.

They can not get us hot water at the sinks if there is none. We are tired of washing our hands in cold water. As an owner, you should be ashamed that the hot water is not even piped to the sinks..and lets not even get started about the showers.

Mr. & Mrs. Brick, we would like hot water. And do us a favor. Let's not point fingers at the building owner. This is your responsibility!

This response, or lack thereof, led me to believe that my safety, and potentially that of others, was not a priority but rather viewed as an inconvenience.
The lack of a satisfactory response has not only affected my perception of the gym's commitment to its members' well-being but has also forced me to cancel my membership. I feel it is necessary to prioritize my personal safety and peace of mind.
I urge the management of this establishment to reconsider how such incidents are handled in the future. A gym should be a sanctuary for health and wellness, where every member feels safe, respected, and supported. It is crucial that all members' concerns are taken seriously, with prompt and appropriate actions taken to maintain a safe environment.

While I didn’t have an opportunity to workout there I actually was stranded for a few days in the parking lot. My phone died while researching repair shops and I figured since I am an active black card member why not it hurt to ask if I could possibly charge it inside the building first impressions inside were fantastic, very clean, and nicely lit not too bright but more importantly, the young man working in the front desk, was on top of things with his professionalism and attitude. He offered to charge my phone behind the desk, and really just was a pleasant nice guy which seems kind of rare these days at least in that age bracket so my gratitude and appreciation is heartfelt… while I found most if not all planet fitness is are up to standard. It looks like this one really pays attention to the details as I have an eye for those things and noticed right away how squared away everything was. Thanks again for the help. My sincerest appreciation.

Very DISGUSTING shower & restroom area!!!!! Hair balls in the shower, toilet paper all over the floor, & no toilet paper in handicap stall. Place was filthy! Had gnats in the shower. Shower curtains & mirrors dirty! No soap in the dispenser!!!!!!!!!!! DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!! I’m a trucker that goes all over the country, & this has got to be one of the WORST locker rooms I’ve ever been in as far as Planet Fitness goes!!!!!!! Will never return! EVER!!!!!

This Planet Fitness is pretty much like every other one, but this location is way smaller. It gets crazy crowded with way too many people for such a small space. When I tried to cancel my membership (in person which I found annoying that I couldn’t cancel it online but I could sign up online), the manager seemed annoyed to be there- She kept asking the same question over and over and didn't really listen to what I was saying. Her degradation didn't work out for me, but it was definitely annoying.

Share-Worthy Moments should never be downplayed, so I am sending a BIG thank you to Alma Bonilla.

What a positive experience I had at PF Abingdon on Wednesday, 4/12. I misplaced my phone and realized it upon my departure. I went to the service desk, and fortunately for me, I was assisted by the young lady named above, Alma Bonilla. I was blown away by her willingness to help: she pulled out all the stops (tech-savvy and practical), including walking around the gym, checking the trash cans, calling my phone, you name it, she did it.

We eventually located my phone, but if we didn't I would have been pleased with the effort that Alma Bonilla put into helping me locate my phone regardless of the outcome.

What makes Alma an exceptional representation of Planet Fitness was her willingness to go above and beyond.
