Been coming to this gym for two years plus, and lately the micromanaging from the new staff is getting out of hand. Posting this sign all over the gym was super inappropriate. While ensuring that customers follow policy is important, it’s critical to be mindful to not create an environment of hostility.

New staff members (they know who they are), while kind, is on a consistent mission to micromanage members. Some of these rules are unnecessary to post everywhere, because they’re in the policy people sign and absolves PF of liability of various things. Please fix this new energy of enforcement, because this gym never required it to run well. People love this gym because the staff is kind and supportive. But new staff members have been consistent in creating an environment that goes against fitness culture; and don’t even workout themselves.

It maybe time to switch to Anarchy, because if they’re gonna make this a judgement zone, then the good times are gone.

You might not want to go to this location the guy answering front desk sounds like he would belong at a cranky case worker organization or a cranky WMATA, the senior center recreational center cranky front desk, instead of the gym, actually. I just started going to this 1 as I just moved to the area, used 2 different tanning beds a lay down one and a stand up one and literally got NO tan from it. No difference! So that tells me their bulbs aren't changed out as they should be. Which is frustrating so I will be trying a different one. The staff are friendly and the place is clean.

*Update (7-13-25): The layout of the club is horrible. The old way was organized and tidy. The new way seems as if the machines were just put in the first available spot. The 30 minute workout area is gone. The changes definitely did not improve the club.

A lot of the machines including treadmills and stair masters are "out of order". The leg extension machine was broken, I let the front desk know, came back in the next day and not even a sign had been put up on the machine and still broken. Just not very well taken care of. Make sure to bring a lock for your locker as well, someone had mentioned that they had their key stolen out of their locker and car stolen. This is currently my most convenient location gym but will be driving a little farther for another PF. Two stars bc the people at the front desk have been kind.

I have a black card and I brought one to another person and they didn't let us in just because we didn't have our ID. It wasn't the first time I went to this gym. I tried to open a new account for my brothers but I won't do it since I didn't receive the necessary help. Terrible customer service. How is it possible that if you don't have an ID you can't get in? The access is not free, it's paid. Even so, I went and wasted my time. The one in Ellicott City is a thousand times better. The staff is more efficient and friendly. I won't return to this place.

It's good, but they have really strict dress codes for girls and women specifically. I feel like I'm at church camp while working out there. The rules are so strict that it's lowkey frustrating, but I understand. Just seems out of touch for what they're trying to promote. Other than that, this place is wonderful and super helpful. I would give details but they are in the app... i just hope that the management can resolve my issues... without speaking all aggressive and disrespectful. The best PF in Baltimore! In this location the locals inspire each other, and we keep each other motivated for our goals. This particular location is very communal and is full all hours of the day. The front desk staff is outstanding, and the cleaning lady is SUPERB.

Come long enough and you'll be apart of the gym family here! I have lost over 80lbs in this gym, and have become a PT at another gym. That wouldn't have been possible without the supportive members and staff of this gym.

It's planet fitness. It's what you'd expect. It's fine for the current base membership price, but since PF will be raising the base price by 50%, I'll probably expect more for my ducats and doubloons, ijs. It's usually clean here, so that's good, and the staff hasn't been rude to me, but I try as hard as possible to just not interact with people at the gym, I'm here to work out. Related plus, most people who come here also seem to be here to work out, I've never been bothered or weirdly stared at, which (I'm sorry to say) is a MAJOR feature for women.

My critiques:
What others say about it taking far too long to service inoperable equipment is true, and equipment that is still operational isn't correctly calibrated (I can do about 20lbs more or less depending on which pulldown machine I use, for instance). I wish I didn't have to plan my workouts around whether or not I think there's even a remote chance I'll get certain machines.

As a PS, dear men, idk how you're all hogging the pec/rear delt fly all the time and I still have better definition than you. Move please, some of us who aren't using the machines as a chair are waiting

My local does not have personal trainers. I come to work out on the machines and sit in the massage chair. It is amazing. Otherwise, I’m planning to switch over to LA Fitness again. Planet Fitness takes more money from my account than a membership at Planet Fitness would.

I gave 2 stars because its location and the fact they’re 24hrs. However, the contract terms and the process to cancel your membership is extremely inconvenient. They either want you to come in person or send a letter, seriously???? Lol. We are in the 21st century, and we’re still sending letters for something that would take literally 2-3 mins to do online, comical to say the very least. What if the letter does not get delivered or is destroyed in transit by i don’t know, liquid damage. Whatever, safe to say I will never sign up for planet fitness again, they hook you into a contract and the only way out is to inconvenience you more by taking time out of your day for a personal visit and going back to the 80s and writing a letter. What a joke.

This location has CAR THEFT.
I use to come here until one of my family members cars was stolen. It happened at night time, the workers they have there are CLUELESS. They told us 6 cars got stolen at that location within 2 weeks. CAR THEFT. DO NOT COME HERE.

This is the first PF I initially joined back in 2015. Over the years I find myself driving out of the way to go to the locations in Ellicott City and Columbia.

This location could be cleaner, there are staff that hang around on their phone and don’t sweep/pick up paper towels or refill spray bottles. I went to use the hydro massage and one of the 2 bottles in that area were completely empty and the other had a broken seal between the bottle and spray nozzle.

None of the Hydromassage beds have water pressure. One hydro massage literally fells you it doesn’t have pressure and requires a code to do anything. The hydromassage beds at this location feel like a kid squirting a water pistol on your back unless you turn the pressure and speed to max.

Im not the kind of person that cares about being greeted or acknowledged when coming and going but I noticed when myself and others (who were not wearing earbuds/headphones) were coming and going the staff don’t speak.

The thing this location had going for it is the space inside. It doesn’t feel like people are working out overtop of you.

The common spaces of this facility were really clean and in good condition. The only issue when I visited was that the women’s bathroom was dirty and out of soap. In the “Black Card” area (where massage chairs are) they had the overhead lights on which was weird so I opted to skip that amenity today.
