Good cardio area. Maybe too much. Too many free weights. Feels more power house gym now. No longer have circuit area or a good place for stretching abs. All space taken by free weights and small benches. I saw three areas of free weights. Front, back right corner and back left where circuit was. They need to duplicate ALL machines, not just shoulder press. Especially leg press. Had to weight 20 minutes for 1 person to finish. Shouldn’t there be a limit of time you can take on one machine? I see this all the time. Really having a hard time coming back to this location. I’ve tried numerous times. 🙁

Wow this place was packed!! I have Social Anxiety so I didnt stay long in the crowd. Great small gym. Should be bigger since lots of traffic! All basic equipment and one of the really good Decline Crunch benches people put in the squat rack for some weird reason. Great crowd, great energy, just too much for me. Wonderful.

Very disappointed in my experience this morning. I arrived, checked in, spoke with the lady at reception, and went about my routine. When I ran out of my protein drink I walked past the reception desk (which had 2 employees there) to my car to grab my 2nd drink. I wasn’t out but for 30 seconds. When I walked in the same employee I spoke to when I first checked in followed me and asked if I checked in. It was abit embarrassing because I feel like there was an assumption that I was trying to sneak in. I had considered changing locations prior but this might cement that decision

Nice, clean gym. It’s somewhat crowded from 5 PM to 10 PM, but if you go around 1 AM, you can practically have the whole place to yourself. I’m a clumsy oaf, so that’s when I go. I know it’s a “judgement free zone,” but I don’t want to embarrass myself when my sweaty palm accidentally launches a kettlebell. I like this gym and the people who work there.

Sorry it's long but I believe in thorough reviews.
I've only been to a gym one other time in my life (I used to teach pole fitness) I joined bc the black card was on sale. So far:
Staff: very friendly, attentive & courteous. Everything feels clean (however I would recommend at the end of each night going through all of the lockers because certain items are left in there like old chapsticks, those items should be thrown out daily so clients don't feel like they have to clean a locker in order to use it)
Clientele: basically I have not had any issues as far as other patrons being inappropriate or disrespectful. However I feel cell phone usage for the machines should be monitored a little more closely. By no means Am I suggesting the staff turn into babysitters. However the clients that are completely not self-aware, the ones who sit on their cell phones scrolling, mind you while they're not between sets: should be addressed. I understand it is our job to politely ask if someone is between sets etc. but when it goes on for almost every machine as a client you don't want to feel like you're bothering everyone.
Equipment: there are several varieties for a full body workout. I personally would like one or two more arm machines since those are usually the most dominated machines. as I said waiting for someone to stop scrolling on their phone when you want to get on with your workout is quite annoying.
It would be nice if the water fountains work.
Plenty of parking. So far it is busy all the time LOL

April is a horrible manager, back story is I had made an account with planet fitness through their app when it was having issues. So now I have multiple accounts. When staff called April to the front to explain she pretty much looked at me like a bum who didn’t pay bills because my accounts were overlapping I have a black card which means I can go to any gym, but she told me she’s going to refuse me next time I come because of my unpaid accounts I never used which was a technical error mind you she would’ve never known about if my phone wasn’t cracked. When looking my name up they seen the old accounts. She had a horrible attitude about it like i owe her money. I’ve never had this issue out of any other manager. She completely turned my off from that gym and I’ve been going there for years. Turned me off so much from planet fitness that I’ll probably cancel my membership and go somewhere else. People like her shouldn’t be in a position of any kind of authority.

Not bad seems a lot less busy so far will probably pick up after first of the year. The only issue I have is there is no water pressure in the fountains and if you don't have a bottle with you to fill you can't drink from the fountains unless you buy something when you're there. Returned to workout and found that the fountains are now able to be used without a bottle. Good job I didn't expect such good customer service. Back at planet fitness hottest time of the year and the fountains are not working again. Are the filters clogged?

The kids in this town are disrespectful. They don't let you finish the series of exercises to give suggestions. There are constant fights in the place. They are disrespectful and pedantic, especially the two girls, one blonde and one black-haired, who are awful.

I just witnessed a guest be talked to very badly by a staff member visibly female ( not sure what her pronouns are and I don’t want to be disrespectful) with no name tag showing and very rude to me too on separate occassion the guest was a lady wearing a blue shirt if you need video proof I was recording my set and have it on video. Nobody should be spoken to like that by a staff member or by anyone EVER and I was so proud of you for walking up to the manager and speaking to her after good for you. I hope it was resolved. That was DISGUSTING and you’re better than me I’d have caught a case. Clearly the problems at this location stem from leadership and April the manager does nothing. She needs to go. I was turned away from this location this week for wearing a sports bra which I have been wearing almost daily 5 days a week since I’ve been coming to this specific location starting in January. I was told by this new employee that it was policy according to their district manager however it’s not posted and when I looked up the dress code on the company websites it’s says “• Members may exercise in a wide variety of attire. Crop tops, sports bras, bralettes, short shorts, long pants, collared shirts are all welcome!” as such why are they going against their own company policy at this location only as I’ve not had this problem at any other location and even called ahead to check at other locations before hand only to have the employee laugh and say of course sports bras are welcomed! Also, if golden ring planet fitness is attempting to go against PF’s corporate dress code policy and make up their own rules for this location then why is this off brand policy not posted!

If I can give my experience today at this PF a 0 Star I would! I’ve never encountered a disrespectful Team Lead (JO) that have been seeing me almost everyday come to this gym and KNOW that I’m a blackcard member still say that her manager (April) told her TODAY to ask for everyone’s BlackCard that want to use the Massage Chairs/Beds in the back but the other team members doesn’t follow through with this policy. Then!!! because I wouldn’t let Jo disrespect me she told her manager that I had an attitude with her. I just want to sit this here because Jo (the team lead) is known for being disrespectful to other patrons at this gym. But she had the right one today! And I’m going to continue to do my workouts with poise and make sure that I pull my phone out my bag to show EVERY team member that work there something that they already know (that I’m a blackcard member) in order to get my massage…because MISERY LOVES COMPANY!! It’s a fine gym, but they have next to no equipment for working your core. They have a rotary torso machine and an ab crunch machine. That’s it. You feel like a selfish hog taking up equipment while some other idiot inconsiderately sits on the machine you want, browsing their phone. Too crowded. Rude people who don't share equipment, instead just sitting there between sets. Dumbbell usage? Not a chance. Membership canceled and money in the toilet. Literally told my wife to "go complain" when she asked a guy to share as he gazed at his phone while sitting on an abductor machine.

Mala experiencia, me inscribí hace tan solo dos meses, pagué la inscripción y el mes correspondiente, para ser dicho pago hay que agregar la tarjeta de banco, al siguiente mes veo un cobro, de 20 dólares por pago demorado, que la tarjeta estaba errónea, y como hicieron para descontar el pago si la tarjeta estaba errónea? Este mes me llega un cobro de 49 dólares, que nunca mencionaron que pagaría, es decir no dan la información correcta y completa. La manager atiende mal y siempre de mal humor. Se supone que pagaría, 15 dólares al mes, y ya en dos menesteres he pagado 100 dólares, mucho cuidado al inscribirse en este gym.

I’ve signed up recently but already encountered careless attitude by the front desk staff on multiple occasions. Young kids on their phones or talking to each other and completely ignoring the customer. I had to stand there and actually get their attention to get any help. Again, multiple times. Not sure what happened but this place has gone far downhill. It's fine for cardio but there are not enough weight machines by a long shot. It's 8pm on a Tuesday and I had trouble finding available machines. The same dude spent 45 minutes on the quad machine I wanted to use, and that's sadly common. It's impossible to get a consistent workout from day to day because the machines are full. I have a black card membership and instead of relaxing on the massage chair, I had to listen to some cracked out couple scream at each other over the noise of their hydro beds. There are much better locations, this one should be closed down or get new management.

So today I was kicked out of my hotel by a rude lady in Rosedale, Maryland at the La Quinta hotel. She literally followed me to my room and thought I was trying to "get with her young little boy" "son" as she called him. I had paid for the hotel and only came down for 4 bottles of water that was paid for. Anyhow because I was kicked out of my hotel I have no where to go and I am actually in between apartments as I am visiting Maryland.

So planet fitness you changed and I demand my refund of my contract as I was showering and another woman came into the shower room and exposed herself and walked naked into the shower. My eyes are scarred. Also the bathrooms are dirty and stink now like someone poopped all over the place. There is hair in all the showers and the walls of the showers. I try working on my laptop alot in the lobby as I paid for my membership and (it was expensive) but everytime I do someone wants to come sit next to me. This planet fitness needs to refund my money ($61.33) very soon and soon means today. I am the customer and the customer is not happy. I asked for my refund and for the police to be contacted but they have yet to do any of this and the manager April refuses to come into work to login and give me my refund. Folks dont sign up at this planet fitness it is dirty, staff are rude and they dont let the customer win.

I would like to bring to your attention a concern regarding staff interactions at this location of Planet Fitness. It has been observed that some staff members approach individuals during their workouts to request phone scans. I believe it would be more effective and professional for staff to handle check-ins when members first enter the gym, rather than interrupting their workout sessions. Customer service is very important when you run a business. With that being said, the current staff at the front desk of the golden ring location is awful. They lack professionalism and hospitality which PF builds their image on as they do not appear to understand the nature of their jobs. They clearly do not understand their own policies or the legal wording in their own contracts as they pass on bad information to customers. The assistant manager was proved to be very immature and rude as he definitely did not understand how to listen to his customers but instead throw a temper tantrum, turn his back, and walk away from a Customer who was asking legitimate questions about his membership. After seeing the assistant managers' behavior, it was clear to me why the other two staff members were so ignorant toward customers. It's a shame what this gym have become. The mornings are usually wonderful however that evening shift is horrible. I sure hope some changes are made soon before other members realize what's going on there!

The gym is fine, everything is nice there but the big win is a really devoted and competent staff. I recently locked myself out of my car with the dog inside (don't ask) and the whole team helped me first to get in touch with AAA and then the manager's husband who is a mechanic and lives nearby came from his home to open my car door for me. The worst PF I've been to. Broken machines, poor lighting, minimal variety of weight machines. If you're someone that likes to lift and hit all muscle groups as well as cardio, find another gym. If you only do cardio, you might be ok with it. I'm willing to drive 20min out of the way to go to another gym and this one is less than 5min away from me.
