For the price and convenience, PF is the obvious choice for staying in shape. Not the bodybuilders gym like I was used to back in the day like Powerhouse and World's but accommodates an aging muscle head well enough! The late night crew is the BEST and IMO the best time to go for machine availability. Being a 24hr facility, along with its ultra cheap fees, it's a no excuses option for any age to get back or STAY in shape! Good job PF 👏

Cancelled my membership for the year in person and then was told I would still be charged the annual fee because I didn’t cancel by the day before so therefore I’m paying an annual fee for the rest of the year in which I won’t have a membership any longer with them. Planet fitness is non-judgmental. I like feeling relatively anonymous. It is pretty clean as far as I can tell. It is also inexpensive and close to my house which I appreciate. The staff tries to speak to everyone when they enter the gym.
I do have to question why the music is on at all. I find it particularly annoying because it is loud in the locker room and adds to the general loudness in the gym itself. But, also, it generally only appeals to the younger people and they are the ones wearing their earphones add headphones. I doubt if they hear the music at all. I put on my ear plugs as soon as I get into the locker room and keep them on the entire time I am there.
This makes it appear that they don't care about the older people that go there. It also appears that most people probably don't want to hear it because they are using a listening device.

Been going here for over a year . Today i come and they turned off the two tv’s showing Fox News. They said those tv’s aren’t working at the moment but 2 TV’s are showing CNN and they won’t turn on Fox on any of the working TV’s there censoring what we can watch. It's an ok place for the money. I'm new to Bel Air from Alexandria VA and use to using 2 brand new LA Fitness gyms. The nearest LA Fitness is 17 miles so looking for an alternative, planet fitness doesn’t have the extensive weight traing equipment as LA Fitness, oh well, but still considering them.

Prior to COVID I worked out 4 times a week since joining Planet Fitness 3 years earlier. When the gym shutdown for COVID it all stopped. Now 3 years later I’m back and trying to go to my home Planet Fitness Gym in Forest Hill, MD with the same perseverance I had. But for a judge free zone, they need to be more strict on that saying because my girlfriend was demanding to go home today and walked out crying because she saw someone laughing at her while we were doing our sets in the dumbbell area. I would still like to keep bringing my girlfriend to this gym to workout with me, but if it continues every time I will personally ask for video footage and deal with it.

This is the best Planet Fitness or the best gym in Harford county. A lot of equipment and friendly (judgement free) people are working out there. Recently, we have been using the free fitness classes with Mr. Allen. Mr. Allen and his training sessions are AMAZING! My 14 year old son loved the fitness session with Mr. Allen and he wants to keep going. We just renewed our membership and going strong in our second year in Forest Hill Planet Fitness.

Newly remodeled with a much brighter locker and shower area. The Black Card area is very nice and more room moving around inside. The new machines are a better version of the Matrix machines, which replaced Life Fitness .The original Matrix machines weren't user friendly with complicated user interface, the news ones are better with Apple Watch linking aa well.Gym is always clean and employees friendly and helpful.

The new layout at this location is horrible. I'm considering canceling my membership over it. The smith machines (squat racks) are BACKWARDS so you can't check your form in the mirror. The other machines are out of order and very close together. They also face each other in some instances so you are starring at someone else working out only a few feet from you. And they removed the mirrors from the locker room? How can we get ready before work? I did talk to the manager and she said she had zero say in the layout- it was done without any input from her. She suggested people reach out to corporate. I really hope they rectify this. Many members were really upset, it just makes zero sense.

UPDATED POST: Yay! They turned the machines around, mirrors are back in locker rooms... Things are still in a weird order but it's workable. Thank you!

New setup is subpar at best. Most of the lifting equipment wasn't updated in the remodel. One of the cables is still broken and many of the cable attachments are falling apart. The free weight benches are jammed together will little room to spread out. The dumbbells are now split up, most (up to 50lb) are located with the free weight benches, but the heavier dumbbells are located across the gym where there was only one bench and no mirror to check form. So you essentially need to carry heavy dumbbells across the gym to use them. Hope they plan to rearrange some of the equipment.

Employee Eric dress coded me saying my shorts are too short. When I see people all the time wearing shorts that are super short. I was very annoyed to get bothered while working out and had to take out my music. I hate this employee and should be fired. I love the fact that I can go workout whenever it fits into my schedule and not some store front hours. I am greeted every time I arrive and upon leaving. The equipment I use is usually always available. As for the teenagers , I never have a problem, if they r at a station or machine I am waiting for I just let them know and they either let me go ahead and use it or they finish and move on. Never have had anyone say or do anything rude or mean, they all just do their thing and let me do mine. A lot of the members will even help you if you have a question about a machine. I do wish the establishment was larger only because this planet fitness has a lot of members and it would help with accommodating them and more machines. However with that being said I do love and use often the crowd meter. And I go when I feel the crowd is right for me.

I'm 70 years old, and my experience with young people is most all respectful and most helpful, and in my case, good friends. Why people can't get over themselves is beyond me. But be warned if I'm present and you try strong arming the younger crowed I will stand up for them and call you on your prejudice. There is no room for that negativity. All are equal in my eyes regardless of age and seniority. There is good times to visit if you don't like crowds. Planet Fitness has an attendance table that shows the level of attendance at each hour.

Don't pay attention to some of the negative Nancy's regarding the teenagers as there tends to be some entitled people that go here as well that believe they shouldn't have to share or wait for equipment. Hopefully, these negative Nancy's don't have children of their own because negativity breeds negativity. I've never had a problem with the teenagers, or anyone else for that matter, that attend this location. These teenagers need a gym they can go to as well as anyone else. Otherwise, excluding them merely because they may do the same thing as even the adults do there, would be discrimination. I rarely, if ever, have to wait for equipment. With that being said, it's difficult for one facility to accommodate every nearby city, two of which are highly concentrated areas, that choose to utilize this location during the most popular times of the day. I know people from Pennsylvania that visit this location as well...in addition to the neighboring areas. However, I would love to see this location expand in the future and, possibly, add new equipment such as TR Straps.

On a separate note, if you're looking to join a gym, I highly recommend Planet Fitness. Their joining fees are very reasonable, they have plenty of equipment, friendly staff and extremely convenient hours of operation. If you decide to cancel your membership, their cancelation procedure is very simple as well. Although, I don't think you'll want to cancel even if you don't get to utilize the gym for a week or two at a time as their fees are so minimal, your pockets won't cringe.
