I like this planet fitness a lot. The price is right for the membership fee and staff is friendly. I highly recommend. I wish they would offer Zumba class, that would be fun. Other than that, I’m happy with my membership.

Been here for 2 years at this point and everything is broken for months on hand. Two smith
Machines two leg curl machines with the excuse “ our employee broke his hand trying to fix it…” don’t they have a team that comes in not
Their employee ? I didn’t want to switch gyms but I fear there’s no choice now a days with no equipment & people at front desk who can’t even charge a bottle of water cause they don’t know how.

I was a member for almost 2 years at the Elkton, Md location. I had never download the app and always used my phone number to enter into the facility. One particular day, I was asked why I didn’t have the app and because I didn’t explain, I was turned away at the front desk by a regular associate. I spoke with the general manager Jeffrey a week later, explaining to him my experience at his location and he basically took sides with the 2 clerks and stated that I use profanity towards his employees, which was a lie, he canceled my services out of racial discrimination. I wouldn’t recommend any black African-American to enter in that Location because you’ll be greeted with fake smiles.

Some of the employees are extremely judgmental . I’m pretty sure you don’t get paid enough to talk shit especially with someone who is struggling with postpartum & just needs a break from their child . You’d think the gym is a mental therapeutic place , but this location specifically they don’t make me feel comfortable to work out to the point where I’m going to just buy my own equipment due to the mockery of my appearance when I’m just there to work out and go back home to my baby . I’d say there’s only two employees out of all of them that has made me feel like it was a safe space to release my stress in a healthier way . Staff is so young and arrogant that they don’t think you’re aware of the laughing and attention they give you when you walk in . You can’t talk shit and then turn around and tell me to have a good day when your childish behavior ruins the motivation for others to actually work on themselves . Upgrade the staff .

I originally gave this place 5 stars but now I have to give this place 1 star. The new manager does not allow safety equipment to be brought in when they do not provide any to begin with. The original manager about a year ago I asked if I could bring in safety equipment to use to help me grip the bar easier, resistance bands that can attach to something without relying on your hand strength if you have poor hand strength, elbow support for tennis elbow and was given the ok to purchase and bring this stuff in. The new manager does not allow safety devices to be allowed in regardless what the old manager said. He states it's in the policy. I read it, printed it out and saved it and no where does it say that you can not bring safety equipment in to the gym. And recently I sprained my wrist and I fear they will tell me to leave my brace in the locker since only gloves ate allowed.

Also you can only have bags on the floor if their is a medical device in it. I have a medical device and do not have to disclose it due to HIPPA. And was still told to show them or put it back in the locker room.

This gym is becoming misleading and the bugs all over the locker room is disgusting.

I like the fact the machines are newer the people at the front desk are kind and if u have a problem they are on it example there was a certain person taking up a machine by just standing there on his phone in-between sets then he would just stand around well he new I was waiting for that machine so finally I told the front desk and they took care of it for me.i appreciated it dearly!I like the fact they r open 24/7! I love the infra red machine!!!!! I love the tanning machines!! I guess u can say I really enjoy they Elkton gym😄!

Came back to this, my old home gym, while in the area. I like that they have expanded into a neighboring space, HOWEVER, whomever reconfigured the space did a poor job. No longer can one do all the resistance machines for upper and lower extremity worki n a row. They are scattered willy nilly throughout the rooms. No more dedicated ab area, either. Curious as to their thinking...

Was there to do a workout. Had a whiteboard with the exercises on it. Someone must have complained because the assistant manager told us we couldn't have it. He said it looked like we were in a training class. We were there just a week ago and nothing was said. Per the policy there is nothing about bringing in a whiteboard to use.

The Planet Fitness (PF) in Elkton has all the fitness machines I need. It's convenient to where I work, so I can visit PF on my own schedule. The PF staff is amazing. They are very helpful and always available. The workout stations are clean. I have noticed; however, an increase in users recently which results in the machines are not as available as they were when I first started visiting the PF in Elkton. I commute to the Elkton area for work so my workout time is very focused and all business so I can get home at a decent time. The problem is people get on the machines and they get on their phones between reps and I can use two, three, and four machines sometimes, and the same person is still on the same machine. I usually chalk this up to "New Year Resolutions" and "newbys" joining first of the year and since I have been coming to the PF for seven years now and have noticed that eventually the crowds subside. I sure hope this happens soon, as if it continues or gets worse I may look for another fitness center or move from the PF in Elkton to another PF.

I love the convenience to go anytime I like ,and also the atmosphere is great.the equipment available to get in shape so much more here than any other gym I've ever been too.The 3o minute zone is also amazing if your short on time or just want to get a cardio workout in really quick.I've been a member of PF for 6 years I've been there at 4am and 8 pm no matter what time you go there's never any problems get in a great work out!

This planet fitness (along with the brand in general I have discovered after interacting with people that had similar experiences to me) is a scam. I was in Elkton for a summer, and going to this gym. Was fine. I moved back home (~2000 miles away) and called to cancel because I couldn't find an option to cancel online. They told me I needed to come in person to cancel, or send a letter. Which, based on the stories of others I have found that have encountered this issue with the brand, would get back to me labeled as unclaimed. Literally any other gym is a better option. Figuring out how to work out at home, or paying double for a better gym is a better option than dealing people that carry these scammy business practices.

Love how clean this location is, everyone is always friendly, love love love the upgraded treadmills and ellipticals as well as the increase in smith machines. it looks great with the reconfiguration of the that side of the gym. I have been coming to this location for several years and have never had any issues with safety, I've never felt uncomfortable with any staff especially the nights i would come later in the evening. Been with Planet Fitness for years now. I carry the Black Card so I can visit different gyms. Every gym experience is always a polite and friendly one. Staff always ready to help. The equipment great the cleanliness is always on point equipment and bathrooms. I've been to other gyms so far Planet Fitness with the price and environment as a whole cant be touched.
