Best PF I have been to. Very clean, friendly staff, and great machines/equipment. I never have to wait to use something unless it is peak hours, but there are so many options available. The black card spa is nice too as it includes massages, tanning, and a free guest pass. The locker room is nice and it has showers. I would highly recommend this location!

I joined in August they keep taking money out of my account with no explanation. The staff said it was a mistake but only the manger Jasmine Johnson could fix it. I have been calling and emailing for weeks with no response and corporate continued to refer me to her. But I have never seen or heard from her. I'm cancelling my membership just to keep them out my bank account and plan to file a small claims suit since they continue to steal from my account by can't return a phone call or email or complaint on their app.

I just joined the gym. They keep taking money out of my account with no explanation. I have a $25 membership and they taken $45 out, then a few days later they took out $69 more and now another $45 and they still wont return my calls or emails to explain why these amounts were withdrawn. When I go after 8pm, the crew is always nice. It’s the afternoon (around 12-2pm) that have rude staff members on shift. Especially the girl that is always on her phone, sitting at the front. Never smiling or greeting you. I’d rather drive 15 minutes down to the one in Baltimore than deal with her.

The staff here are great but the management isn’t. They never call you back regarding a concern, I’ve called for weeks in regards to getting a refund, after I was told by staff I would get one. However, there aren't enough weight equipment, which means you might end up waiting for a long time for a particular equipment to become available, of which there might only be one. Several times, I had to cut my workouts short because there weren't any available equipment.

I had to wait 10 minutes for the water to heat up. It wasn't peak hour either. It still wasn't that hot. I can't imagine this place in the winter. There wasn't enough water pressure to wash my hair. I am reaching out to bring to your attention an upsetting incident that transpired during my visit to Planet Fitness located at the Normandy Shopping Center, 8450 Baltimore National Pike, Ste 175, Ellicott City, MD, on Monday, May 26th at around 12:45 p.m. My daughter and I had just completed an hour of invigorating exercise and were eager to unwind in the Hydromassage beds before concluding our visit. This was especially significant for my daughter, as she is a new member with a Black Card and had never experienced the relaxing benefits of the Hydromassage beds.
As we approached the front desk, I inquired with a young woman—who I regret not asking for her name but noticed she appeared to be of Asian descent, possibly Korean—if we could access two Hydromassage beds. To my astonishment, she informed me that while she would make an exception this time, the use of the beds was strictly limited to Black Card members. I was taken aback, as she had never asked us whether we held Black Card memberships.
I responded, "How do you know that we are not Black Card members? Did you even ask?" In response, she simply stated that she assumed we were not members. I expressed my discontent, explaining that such assumptions were unfair and requesting that she refrain from making judgments without first asking a straightforward question.
As an African American mother and Human Resources Professional, I found it particularly disheartening that an employee would jump to conclusions based solely on appearances. Compounding the situation, this same employee had previously scanned us in at the entry, during which the scanning device was malfunctioning, suggesting a lack of attention and care in service.
I want to clarify that I am not sending this review with the intent of causing anyone to lose their job. Rather, I hope this incident serves as a valuable opportunity for your management to provide training to your staff on how to approach and communicate with all members, regardless of their appearance, in a respectful and considerate manner. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Various equipment frequently broken and it can take up to ten minutes for the water to heat up for a shower, all of which make it tricky to squeeze in a workout if you're on a time crunch.

This is one of my "go to" Planet Fitness locations. Great selection of cardio and strength equipment. One thing I like a lot is the diversity of clientele: teens to seniors, people of all races and backgrounds, beginners to muscle bros, everyone working out together in harmony. The best feature is trainer Marcus. He's a great motivator, fist bumps and encourages folks, and seeing him always makes my workout even better. The only negative comment is there's only one pec deck, and sometimes there's a wait to use it.

Love this PF but don't love the parking lot security. We were there for 10 minutes before security came over and told us to leave or he's calling the police and a tow truck. We're a touring band with 8 black card members. The PF manager was very kind and will be talking to property management about it. I hope we get to come back and patronize not only the PF but the other businesses in this location.

This gym is a great gym. HOWEVER; it's filthy. I have never seen a planet fitness employee cleaning or dusting anything. The floors are always dusty, random hair extensions are in the bathroom, the women's bathroom are always dirty, trash is over flowing, the machines are full of dust with sweat marks at the base, and the employees at the front dest are too busy to see this because they are on their phones. Their nice and friendly but I have yet to see any of them dust or clean anything. I honestly don't care if they're on their phone but if the facility needs their attention ( cleaning) wise then thats when im annoyed. They got 1 ⭐️ ONLY because how unsanitary and unclean this facility is. So sad because it *is a nice gym. IF it was more clean.

Not the cleanest Planet Fitness. Very dusty to say the least. I noticed machines with the same dust hair and dirty as the day prior. This gym also needs some form of a Deodorizer !!!! I know it’s a gym but it smells worse than any other Planet Fitness I go to. It’s convenient so I go but, it’s too crowded to not have better ventilation and not be cleaned properly. This is a fairly new gym, it’s No way it should be so dusty. It looks like they vacuum and don’t mop the mats. My opinion.

Terrible gym if I could give half a star I would in a heartbeat I walked into the gym the other day with my son who has autism and the black lady who wears a mask and has a ponytail was very impatient and rude to us she kept telling us to hurry it up and then just kicked us out my son was in shambles he was begging me earlier to get into the gym and become more fit but thanks to the black lady she ruined and crushed his dream.Never Will me or anyone who is related to me ever step foot into that location ever they are so terrible to people who have a disability all the other staff where great and understanding it was only that black lady who wears a mask and has a ponytail

I wish management would get rid of those stupid freaking ropes. Every single day I go, there is always a group of guys being EXCESSIVELY loud with those ropes and it completely ruins the rest of the gym. I love going here, but the ropes are so distracting. My experience at Planet Fitness was far from satisfactory. While the gym facilities themselves were decent, the customer service left much to be desired. The employees at the counter appeared more engrossed in their smartphones than attending to members' needs. It's disheartening to witness such apathy towards customer service, especially in a place meant to promote health and wellness. Management should prioritize training their staff to provide better service to their patrons.

I LIKE that it is clean, relatively quiet (no blaring music, yelling, weight banging, etc.), friendly and relatively inexpensive. .

I do NOT LIKE that equipment Maintenace is always delayed -- often by MONTHS. The staff cannot (by policy?) block off a machine making grinding noises, they can only add it to the maintenance list. (Grinding noises on a stationary bike eventually lead to far more expensive repairs.) In one case I complained repeatedly about a bike that had been moved slightly and the feet needed a minor adjustment. I finally got the manager involved and it was stabilized before I left! People had been avoiding it for 5-6 WEEKS waiting for maintenance. I

f a machine needs a new battery this should not be delayed for maintenance; staff should be able to replace batteries!

There is a constant "roadblock" for everyone on the fly machine. There are two of almost everything else. Management and staff recognize the need but claim they are unable to change ANYTHING during the first five years! (Note this is also used by free-weight folks, making even longer backups. Multiple users have complained and get the same answer.) i am never there at peak usage times but understand that folks often need to drop this from their workout due to non-availability.

THE OWNERS NEED TO ALLOW FOR SOME MANAGEMENT FLEXIBILITY INCLUDING, IF APPROPRIATE, ADDING AN ADDITIONAL MACHING IF APPROPRIATE. MAINTENANCE NEEDS TO OCCUR AS NEEDED, NOT JUST EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS. (This is occasionally magnified when a part is not available and repair gets put off until the next scheduled maintenance.) ROUTINE MAINTENCNCE CAN BE SCHEDULED; EQUIPMENT FAILURES CANNOT.

These are the kind of things that drive users to other gyms. The fact this place is new, clean, quiet and friendly will not overcome the above shortcomings in the long run. Folks will pay a few bucks more and go elsewhere to find equipment availability.

Such a wonderful experience! I go to PF 6 days a week and have met a lot of nice people. The staff is very friendly and helpful.. The clentele is very diverse representing the cultural diversity of Howard County which I love. Also, there is a tremendous variety of exercise equipment and the staff ensures that it's clean and operating properly. Planet Fitness in Ellicott City is an exceptional facility!

Every time i come here, the changing rooms are full of the clothes of the people showering. They don’t know what a locker room means, you tell the staff you will be back in 5 to use the black card space and they all leave forcing your night to be even longer. Not to mention I parked in the front which you should never do, you’ll find an Indian market shopping cart thrown into your vehicle. Worst experience ever after this month in leaving

People are friendly, but there are hair and fingerprint marks all over the panel and floors in the changing stalls. Hair is also getting on personal gym bags, clothes, and shoes, making everything extremely unsanitary. Why are there no cleaning supplies and paper towels available in the ladies locker room ? So , members can wipe down the areas when the staff can’t get to it . Because real talk I’m not going to voice concerns without solution. Please address these concerns at the gym.

I think it’s a great gym, covers all the bases I need. Not a 5 star for the following:
1. at times it feels like the gym is over capacity, I understand that gym traffic isn’t necessarily their fault, but they could’ve set an occupancy limit or put more thought into population control.
2. A lot of machines break and it takes a good bit of time for them to get back up and running.
3. Lastly, it’s a cell phone dead zone if you’re not connected to their wifi - it’s so bad sometimes I don’t have enough connectivity to even GET ON the wifi. And that just makes the gym experience worse.
Again I do like this gym. I’ve been going here for around 2 years, the prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly. I’d recommend it here if you are looking for a low stakes gym.

I was visiting for a week from abroad and needed a gym while I was here. The process to sign up via the app was easy and so was cancelling my membership when I was leaving. The gym was clean, staff was friendly, and the hydro massage chairs were a sweet way to end a hard workout! I would have liked to see additional equipment in the functional fitness area (parallettes, rings, boxes, bands) but overall it was perfect for what I needed for the week.
