New member experience. Just joined as a black card member recently. I wanted to be able to visit any PF location at will. This glen Burnie location is just wonderful. Went on a Sunday and didn't seem too crowded or overpopulated. Staff up front was very extremely helpful. This is what all PF locations should strive for. Clean bathrooms. Respectful members and great staff. Highly recommend this location. And just incase one didn't know. It's standard protocol to wipe the machine down before. And after usage. Just our of respect. So far I've seen every person do this here.

Joined earlier this year and I actually like the gym. Equipment is good and everything is clean. The problem is they allow teens to workout for free during the summer which means it’s super crowded after work with kids just sitting on machines. I think it’s great to give them the chance to exercise but 10+ kids sitting on machines taking a 20minute rest clogs everything. The afternoon staff is nice but doesn’t monitor the gym, they mostly just talk with friends at the tables next to the desk. Last week there was a toddler running around the benches next to the free weights which became dangerous quick. Probably wouldn’t be an issue if there was some management at night. Unfortunately I had to join another gym just so I could get my workout done in under 3 hours.

I just started going to this gym and I honestly love it cause it doesn’t get busy as much. I travel like 30 minutes to come here. I start working out at the gym doing hip abductions from a video i’ve seen and this girl with some guy was mocking how I was doing it and laughing at me. I thought it was supposed to be a judge free zone?

I believe this branch is the one that has no standup tanning bed. That was the only reason for getting four stars. Otherwise the staff is very friendly and assist you quickly. Was told by staff to make a review with the things we’d like to see change as they actively watch this. I have 3 immediate requests:

1- broken equipment: no clue of the policy on replacement/fixing but would love for yall to push the issue. Having cable machines constantly down for weeks at a time not only throws the whole workout off but creates unnecessary traffic jams at other equipment.

2- other PF locations have much heavier dumbbell options. This location only going to 60 isn’t awesome. Can you try to get more in here of increased weights? Would free up Smiths Machines and other equipment that’s used to compensate for lack of…

3- more 45lb plates. At last count there were only 26 qty in here. For leg press I run 9 on each side alone so I can’t do legs here bc I have to strip other machines and I refuse to limit others so I either do without or go to other locations which isn’t awesome. I understand that this isn’t Gold’s or the like but it would help tremendously.

As a black card member I have access to every planet fitness location. I have been to a LOT of them in Maryland. I live in Baltimore City and I travel to the Glen burnie location multiple times a week. It has high ceilings, is overall very spacious, and is brightly lit making it an optimal space to work out. It’s squeaky clean, has a high number/variety of weight equipment and the employees are generally friendly. You guys are simply the best! 🤘🏻

How I choose PF is through my family members that I am close with and their personal experience of having a PF membership. I have had memberships at three different Planet Fitness locations in Maryland and the Glen Burnie location is my favorite. Although I have had good experiences at District Heights and Laurel, I have never had to wait to use equipment at Glen Burnie as I did during the same times of day at the other two locations. The equipment is clean and well maintained. Also, the staff have been kind and courteous in my first week and made the transition easy.

Although I don’t ever use my Black Club Membership, I have been paying for it for years… thinking that one day I’m going to start! 😁 However, Tonight’s experience has changed everything for me.
My daughter was going to use my membership. The staff member told my daughter that she would have to have me in order to so. My daughter came out to the car and got me. I came in with my 4 year old grandson and told the female staff that we would wait inside while my daughter worked out. She told me that in order to do that, my grandson would need to be 13 years old. She smirked, whispered to a co-work and sarcastically told me to have a good night.
Okay, I kind of get it, but what I don’t get is how she responded. It was as if she won a battle. VICTORY for the staff member!!
After careful thought I went back inside and told her how I had the membership for years, how I put out a ton of money and how I saw her whispering to her co -worker and her sarcasm towards me. Congratulations— she won. And in the process, Planet Fitness has lost a client. The way in which customers/ clients are treated is what makes a business. Do people not know this??!! Would it have hurt her to respond differently?
Funny, I just got a response back from PF, saying we love our guest, please respond to our policy page. No apologizes or acknowledgment of the rude treatment of the staff member. Again, do they not get that the way people are treated means everything?!! Not!!
Looking at the other comments from people praising them, their responses are: “great”, “thank you”; however, when they get told about a problem, their response is, “ look at our policy page”. Anyone who cares about their concerns being given merit— you better steer clear of the Planet Fitness on Ordnance Road!! DISAPPOINTING AND DISGUSTING.

This gym is money!

I know a lot of fitness influencers like to dis on Planet Fitness, but this location is great! All of the machines work, plenty of free weights, lots of cardio machines, clean locker rooms. During my workout, I ran into a personal trainer at the gym where she worked/I worked out pre-Covid. If a personal trainer is working out here, that's the best endorsement one can make.

My son had a baseball tournament, and we were staying at a hotel in Linthicum Heights. The hotel gym was rather small, so I googled the nearest PF. I decided to go to Glen Burnie because they opened earlier in the morning which I needed. The facility was nice and clean. The staff were friendly. The machines were great! I would definitely go there again if I were in the area.

When I moved to Baltimore in 2020, Planet Fitness was the sculptor and I was the unfinished block of marble. With each gym session, their chisel would chip away with meticulous care. To my dismay, the passing of the sands of time has caused the studio to develop an aura of complacency.

The sculptor has grown weary and their chisel dull. The artist’s attention to detail has been lost. The passion no longer flows from their soul.

Gym equipment has not been well maintained, a thin layer of dust is visible on paths with lesser traffic, plumbing fixtures consistently inoperable.

I hope this only to be a phase.

I dream of the day when the sculptor’s heart is reignited with a devotion to excellence.

I made my membership on 23 April and so far it’s been going well. But some concerns I have is I just got charged again for the whole month on today’s date when I was supposed to be charged on the 17th of every month. So I don’t know what’s going on with the system. But I want everybody to keep an eye out for their bank account and make sure that extra Payments are not being taken.

As well as one of the members at the front desk, making my membership but accidentally charging me for the black card when I applied for the classic. So when I went back to check in the next day, I couldn’t get into my account because they deleted my classic membership. Which is the only thing I paid for, but they took care of it because they did remove the black card membership and no money was taken, thank God.

They even let me use the massage chairs Compensation which I’m thankful for.

Some pros about this gym:

Nice basic gym always clean staff is great.   Noticed as of late it's gotten busier than usual in the 7pm to 9pm time frame.  Management may want to consider having some additional redundancy in machines. Maybe an additional glute push back machine, additional pecdeck, and additional incline chest press.  Men's locker room could use an additional bench to serve the wall of lockers to the right as you walk in.   Just a suggestion.

This place is impossible to reach by phone! My brother opened his account online. It defaulted this location as my home location. I didn't think that would matter since he has the black card. They wrongfully charged a late fee the first month of membership. We have tried reaching them to correct it but when you call you just get a recording and then it hangs up. You cant even leave a message. Tried having the actual home gym contact them, same thing. Because these are franchises corporate also is NOT helpful. Now the location he attends is threatening to not let hin workout because of the company's error although has has tried his best to correct it.

Back I. Baltimore seeing family and today I had the chance to visit this location. This location was super easy to find which was great for me as I don’t know the area at all.

Upon walking in, the gym is super clean and spacious. The floor plan has the traditional PF design that I love as it makes it easy for me to get to my favorite machines. Along with being clean, the equipment is current/up to date, and the space is super HUGE! This is definitely a plus as it allowed me
To be able to workout without feeling crowded or having anyone in my space.

As I scanned in there were two staff members at the desk, both said hello and provided a pleasant greeting. Another plus as such a warm interaction helps to break the out of place feeling that comes with visiting a gym while on vacation. Special that’s to the staffers who were on shift 03/16/24 at 9am.

All in all this was a pleasant experience and I will visit again when in the area.

Again I want to commend the staff for their professionalism and the cleanliness of the facility. I do want to make you aware that on three occasions in the past week both arriving and departing my wife and I witnessed people smoking marijuana openly in the parking lot. Although it is legal to have marijuana in possession for personal use it is NOT legal to smoke it in public. This presents  security concerns for people coming and going to the facility especially the nights when it is open later than 9:00 p.m.

Please do not give your standard answer about referring my concern to the manager, she does her job well and this is out of her scope.   Myself and a few other members I have spoken with feel this should be addressed by your  corporate office specifically legal and loss prevention.

Our concern is as the spring and summer months commence the parking lot will become a " hangout" and a   hotbed of dubious activity involving members and non members.  In the interest of safety perhaps a private security patrol on  Monday- Thursday nights after 9pm and reiterating in the club via signage a no substance use policy in or outside the club.

My son took advantage of your high school program last summer.  Myself and some other parents would like to see some action taken on this situation before the summer. If nothing changes we will cease being members and I will gladly go to a facility that offers a higher level of security for my family albeit at a higher cost.

Again the staff is professional well mannered and takes care of all concerns brought to them. However I do notice on some occasions there can be up to six people just hanging up at the front desk I would think it would be useful to have them walk the floor and see what's going on.  Enforce the policies ( professionally) surrounding cell phone use and having bags out on the floor and not rely upon another member coming up and telling you about it.

Like I stated in a previous review, the facility is surrounded by high crime demographic areas. I would be wise to be proactive.

Never put a lock on my locker and no one ever stole from it. It's a safe location and I am so happy with it and comfortable. It made me want to get my own membership, so I did.

Just moved to area and didn't know which one I wanted to make home club. After my experience today at Ordinance Rd Glen Burnie my decision was clear it would be there because of the customer service I received from Rachel!!! She was very attentive to my needs with helping me and went above and beyond for me and always kept a smile while doing so at 6am in the morning ! I'll definitely be there more because of her
