Clean gym with most equipment you’d need. Tons of cardio equipment. You can get a great workout here. No barbell setup but they have like five Smith machines. Lots of shoulder press machinery. Really wish they would add a side /lateral raise machine, that is the only thing keeping it from being perfect. There are like 4 seated row and 3 back extension machines most people don’t use, please replace one of those with a lateral raise machine! Almost every gym has them, please add a side raise machine :)

I have been a consistent user of this location and have always been impressed with its cleanliness and overall maintenance. However, I wanted to bring to attention an issue with the stair master equipment. Occasionally, it shuts off mid-workout, disrupting my exercise routine. Given the high demand for the stair master, as evidenced by it being consistently occupied, I believe addressing this issue would significantly enhance the overall user experience. Despite this, I appreciate the location and would like to see improvements in this area.

They just recently updated their dated gym equipment and added new machines w freeweights. and now all the running and elliptical machines actually work now. they still need to fix the heat that builds up inside though. odd they disconnected the only good large working fan that kept everyone cool

I come to the Laurel Planet Fitness location every now and then with my boyfriend. We both have memberships. The last time we came in, we both scanned our membership codes and as we walked away, one of the female employees yelled to us to see if one of us checked our “guest” in. We let her know that we both scanned our code and it was all good.

Today, we came in…no greeting and no employees watching to see us scan our codes. The exact same employee from the time before with the long braids and glasses chased us both down after we were already walking away to see if my boyfriend checked me in as a guest. I don’t appreciate the assumption that if there’s more than one person, one of them is a guest. We both pay for the black card and never had any issues before. I get it, they need to make sure not just anyone is coming in without checking in, but if you’re that worried about it, you should be watching when folks are coming inside and scanning their codes.

Planet Fitness - Laurel is clean, well lit and just received an upgrade of equipment (within the last month or more). I am glad they got the upgraded equipment because the old equipment wasn't the best.
The staff always says good morning when I enter and have a nice day as I leave. Locker room and lockers are clean. Bathroom was clean and showers were good. I noticed each PF you visit has slightly different set-ups. This one is close to home so I go mainly for the convenience.
Other patrons have been nice as well
I go at least 5 times a week in the am and it isn't overly crowded. Seems like the earlier you go at this location the less people are there Different at the metro city area PF's.
I haven't had any issues going here and will continue to use this as my home gym.
I have noticed some patrons don't wipe down the machines after they use them so I always wipe before and after. Not a knock on PF just on my fellow members.
Staff does walk around and clean while I have been there and that is comforting.
Overall good solid gym location especially when you are coming in and focused on your workout.

I used to enjoy going here. However, they rid of a lot of cardio machines. Including the arc trainer. Very minimal cardio machines and everyone is on top of each other. Even during empty hours.

Updates are unavoidable. However, I wish they did a survey before deciding what to get vs get rid of because now there are a lot of bikes and other machines that people don’t frequently use and take up space.

Imagine walking in with shoes and being told to leave because they aren’t the “right kind.” I was clearly present with my stretch tools, a mat, and in the sectioned off stretch area. Normally I arrive with shoes on (today and like any other time they were slides), setup my mat, and put on my yoga socks and plantar splints to stretch (mind you I was in the designated stretch area not using any machines weights or equipment) as I explained to the staff member. ONLY location I’ve had this issue with ONLY location that’s asked me to leave HORRIBLE call of judgment so, the fans of this location can have it.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this Planet Fitness location. As a former PF employee who has worked for the company for 3 years prior, this location is extremely unprofessional. I brought my own barbell pad to the gym, as I always do, and as I was leaving, I was suddenly accused by an employee of stealing theirs (she followed me outside at 5am). I initially calmly explained that the pad was mine, but she continued to question me. At this point, I became upset and told her to go check their cameras. After circling the gym, she eventually found the gym’s barbell pad being used by another member, proving that I had done nothing wrong.

The employee did come back and try to apologize, but I explained to her that I didn’t appreciate the way she went about the situation by questioning be repeatedly infront of other members and making it look like I was lying/ stealing. As someone who’s worked the desk before, if a member tells me a piece of equipment is theirs, I wouldn’t keep pressing them about it because it’s unprofessional. The employee went back and forth with me, making the interaction even more uncomfortable, and then—completely unprovoked—my ledger membership was canceled by management Pam (which was provided to me and isn’t against any policy). She never reached out to get insight about the situation so that was honestly just miserable of her, but she’s a miserable person so I’m not surprised. This was an incredibly unprofessional and impressionable experience.

Planet Fitness needs to do a much better job training their employees on how to handle situations like this. Accusing people without evidence, refusing to de-escalate, and then terminating memberships without cause is completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this location to anyone looking for a welcoming and professional gym environment.

The gym was barely usable this summer when it was “open” during the remodel, and now it has gone past the planned reopening date with no firm commitment to its customers in sight about when it will reopen. For those of us who can’t easily go to the other locations, we have to really question whether we got anything at all for our membership fee these last few months. 👎🏻

The energy drinks they sell are expensive as hell. Thank god I can take one step out the door, look right, and see a Wawa 200 yards away.

Not always the cleanest so expect the bathrooms to be subpar. Actually subpar is an overstatement. The men’s room is atrocious. Grown men will use the bathroom and then they won’t flush after. DISGUSTING!

Most people don’t wipe down equipment after they use it and there’s 2 reasons for that:
1. They see their next exercise machine open so they just get up and leave.
2. They could care less about the next person coming to use it.

Evenings are a living hell. I fought Darkside once… over who’s turn it was to use the Smithing Machine! (He was definitely wrong).

People don’t rack the dumbbells back. There is 2 pairs of 20lbs dumbbells. 1st pair was being used by someone and the 2nd pair wasn’t even a real pair. It was missing one dumbbell. Well I decided to go on an adventure for the missing 20lbs dumbbell. Any takes on where it was? Near a smithing machine that wasn’t actively being used.

The roof is also leaking. Mainly near 2 Smithing Machines. You better pray to god that the droplets don’t get you during a Hip Thrust set.

Also people tend to use 2 cable machines at “the same time,” which Im not really against because I know some people actually believe super sets work. But if you are resting between sets, why can’t I work in while you rest? You know the gym busy. I know it’s busy. You know, I know, you know it’s busy. Yet you aren’t going to give me an opportunity to workout?

People will walk into the gym, get on a machine, do ONE SET and then sit there for the next 40 mins scrolling on Tiktok or Facebook.

Ive been going here for almost 2 years and it’s been issue after issue that always seems to throw me off my ball while I workout. It’s actually ridiculous.

Wait, what? You said why did I give it 5 stars then? Because this Planet Fitness truly knows what it means to be a public gym. I mean this gym is the epitome of public gyms. It’s so bad, that it’s actually good.

P.S. if you are thinking about joining PF don’t do this one. Please for the love of god we don’t need more members here.

The worst in this world. This big black guy around 300 pounds called the cops on me. I told him I had just had heart surgery, and I was finishing up on the 30-minute circuit. Active duty military, I was on 2 live streams recording myself and in the middle of a set. A lady came up to me and said I cannot record because it technically violates policy. I understand policy concerns but I have been doing this for a while at many gym locations and there was no problem and all of a sudden it is here at the location? Not going to go into detail how this is in violation of a person's rights to record themselves by law, and It not like I'm going around recording people without there consent it the fact that I cannot even record myself or take pictures in a public building that accessible to the public at this location. I even called 3 other locations and spoke to there general managers and they said if I want to see a change I can call the corporate office. There a fine line between recording others without consent and recording yourself. And at other locations they told me there no problem with doing what I was doing by recording myself.
