my family and I recently moved to this area due to my military service. My wife visited your gym this morning (around 6:30 a.m.) and unfortunately experienced a very unpleasant situation that I feel you should be aware of.
When she arrived, there was no staff member at the front desk. She waited and even searched the gym for someone to assist her so she could pay for a drink. She eventually located a staff member a big man wearing glasses, without a name tag and politely explained that she had taken a drink and needed to pay.
Instead of offering courteous assistance, he spoke to her disrespectfully in front of other members, telling her she should not have taken the drink and later yelling that she should bring cash next time. She even declined his offer of a free drink and insisted on paying, trying to handle the situation properly. This situation was very stressful and embarrassing for her and reflects poorly on your gym's customer service. As a veteran and new member of this community. I value respectful and professional treatment. I urge you to address this matter with your staff to ensure other members do not experience the same treatment.

I've been attending this location for almost 2 years now, just never bothered to write a review.
This place is fine for a planet fitness, personally i like it better than other locations because they allow you to jump rope in here (If they say they don't allow it, that's bullcrap because I've been jumping rope here for the past 6 months with nobody from the staff stopping me about it). Pretty big location overall, 4 Smith-machines for squating and benching, about 10 bench seats, plenty of treadmills and 2 stairmaster incliners. It hardly gets packed in there so you get lucky with using most machines without having to wait. Bathrooms/locker rooms are always tended to, mostly clean overall. Overall good PF.

Only minor complaint is the smell that it has at times. I workout between either 1pm-3pm, 2pm-4pm, or 3pm-5pm, depending on how early or late i get off work during the weekdays, so sometimes it smells like straight up feet or something funky 🥴, other times it smells like they sanitized the place.

I’ve been coming here for a few years and love it. The one issue I have is how cold it is all year around. It’s hard to get a good sweat and keep it without getting sick from the temp. I’ve mentioned it a couple of times and nothing ever done. The employees were in the front desk with a space heater keeping warm and it’s mid Aug.

It’s what you would expect from a planet fitness. It’s never really too crowded. The staff makes sure to speak as you enter and exit. They were helpful when I struggled to use the hydro massage chair for the first time. No complaints. I can usually go in and get out.

It's a small planet fitness. Most of the time in the evenings there's not enough space. In the mornings it's a little easier but still on the smaller size of a standard planet fitness. It's okay. Everything is usually working. Locker rooms are decent..

Awesome gym! I do understand we are supposed to clean the tanning bed ourself after each use (and i KNOW some people don't even do that)however, I do not believe the rest of it is ever cleaned by staff. Had the same tanning bed two days in a row and had the same trash on the floor as the day before. Underneath the acrylics is build up of dust, hair, etc. Love this place would just like to see it a little more cleaner 💖

Will overcharge you MONTHLY w random fees. No help with any of these issues at ALL. Just called and got told I can't cancel unless I FLY back to the state to cancel. This gym is excellent. It has four Smith machines and tons of equipment. The business of the gym is relatively stable. It does get somewhat busy at times, but nothing like if you are from the city.

Temperature in the building was awesome. Perfect for working out if that's what you were going to do. The tanning salon area was neat and clean. Per ABC financial representative(customer services) there is an investigation starting on the Prince Frederick location for payments taken and claim needed under contract, yet not within contract limits.
Looking forward to hearing from ABC financial supervisor - Gretchen, since this payment was ill advised and not within the contract.

One sign says no judgment zone, but then the other has a lunk alarm, which defines one as someone who wears a bodybuilding tank top, drops the weight when done, and carries around a gallon jug. Not sure how that is not a judgement? The place itself was clean, with plenty of machines with no wait. Very quiet atmosphere. Some free weights but mostly machines. Nothing a serious or midly serious bodybuilder or weightlifter would like. Overall, it is recommendable.

There is absolutely nothing to do in Calvert County on the weekends, closing the gym at 7pm is ridiculous. Some of us have busy lives and would appreciate more flexible hours in order to get our workouts in. None of the other PF I’ve attended close at 7pm on the weekends. Clean gym, modern equipment, but some big flaws.

Free weights only go to 60 lbs which is a HUGE bummer, if you want to go any heavier you have to use the smith machine. That's another big problem, because there's only 4 for the whole gym, and they are CONSTANTLY in use. Whether it's one person sitting on it for 30+ minutes doing super sets with long breaks between, or a gaggle of 4 teenagers talking while occasionally doing a set, it's nearly impossible to get any time on the machines for squat/deadlift/bench.

The rest of the machines are varied, but there's usually only one of each, so if you need a specific machine be prepared to wait for it.

If you just want a treadmill, there's a billion, you'll have no problem getting one. If you want machine workouts, it's decent but not great. If you want free weights... well good luck, there aren't many and they don't go heavy at all. There's also very very few 45lb plates for the smith machines.

It is affordable, which is why I keep going. I'd definitely switch to TNT if their price wasn't prohibitively expensive (it's 4x the cost for myself and wife) which sucks.

They also say they're supposed to be 24 hours, but we've been going for a year and they still don't have the staff to support it. Seems the owner maybe is just a bit on the cheapskate side.

Overall, it's a decent gym for the price, but frankly the only reason we keep going is because there's just no other good alternatives in the area (except one that is great but I just can't justify the price).

Gym is ok, disappointed that the freeweights only go up to 60lb, also there isnt any way to do decline bench press .
There is ONE of those declined benches that you can use , but those are terrible , literally haven't seen anyone use it.
Inorder to use it with the free weights you have to be a skilled gymnist to even get layer down on it with free weights
And on the guide rail bench press bar it's difficult to get it into place without hitting your head on the bar. I can't understand how there aren't ANY machines to do decline bench press or any lower check machines.
Isn't ever really busy, except for Mondays. The longer the week goes on the crowds get smaller

To say I am very disappointed with the general manager and staff is an understatement. Came all the way to this location to be told what my name is, is not my actual name. I don’t know who these people think they are but it’s evident they aren’t the brightest in the world. I have been going to this Planet Fitness for 2 years now in the early morning and for the second time in the past few months they have pulled the rug out from under us with their change in hours. I understand the difficulty in hiring in this current environment, but at least open your doors by 5am. Opening at 6am just makes it difficult to get an early workout in. The laughable part of this is they still have the 24-5 marketing on their store front! I would hope that their corporate offices would hold these stores to a standard. The gym is supposed to open at 7 on Saturday mornings. It is currently 7:40 in the morning on Saturday May 20, 2023. The gym is still closed there's a line of about 20 people outside and the only employee in site has only been working here for 4 days and today is the 4th day. I'm tired of paying for a gym where I'm expected to clean but the paid employees don't; I don't understand the reviews saying the place is "clean." Even the notoriously "dirty" gyms are cleaner. Employees refuse to say hi to guests to talk to their friends. The manager doesn't listen to complaints, doesn't order supplies, doesn’t actually manage her emoloyees, and from my understanding won't hire anyone for the night shift to purposefully change the gym hours. Why do I go here? It's a small county. I'm limited in options.

They are not open past 11pm Monday through Thursday and closes early on Saturday and Sunday at 7pm.

I’ll update my review once the gym actually resumes 24/5 hours as advertised on their walls. I’m paying for a membership but the gym won’t hire enough staff to keep the advertised hours.

We have been members for multiple years now. My husband and I like to do the 30 minute circuit training on the designated machines 60 seconds on and 30 sec rest then on to the next machine. Every time we go to that designated area, there are multiple people either just sitting there or doing multiple sets (the main gym is for multiple sets). We have informed the front staff countless times to please either put a sign in that area or walk back and talk to the people not using the area correctly. We have now taken it upon ourselves to inform the people that it’s a designated rotation area since the front staff has done nothing to fix this problem. We are considering leaving since the staff won’t help us with this problem and that there has not been a sign put up for that area. This has been going on for almost several months now.

Having a gym that’s open from 6:00 am Monday morning for 24 hours a day through Sunday at 10:00 pm is so convenient and fits my lifestyle. I can get my workout done before work and even return during my lunch break and use the hydro massage bed or chairs. Always very clean and always at least two staff members present.
