Feels crowded because of set up on 2nd floor and low ceilings with many machines. Many of the TVs were broken and none of staff knew how to fix. Ones that worked only had a few channels. Big, awkward fans pointed at only some areas.

I want to echo what another reviewer mentioned about this location. The staff are rude, unprofessional, and clearly undertrained. As a Black Card member with full access to all locations, I was wrongly told I didn’t have access to this gym and was asked to pay an extra fee. According to the employee, when I scanned my card the system didn’t register my access — yet just a week earlier I checked in and worked out without any issue. She was very rude, dismissive and unapologetic about the whole incident, even when she realized their error after I showed my membership again.
The entire ordeal left a bad taste in my mouth, so I reached out to the regional manager. Although he assured me that the employee (who claimed to be a supervisor) would receive additional training, I still haven’t received an apology.

I really like the gym itself — it’s well-equipped and comfortable. The issue is some of the staff. A few of them are rude or act annoyed when you ask for something. I wish I remembered their names so I could call them out directly, because the experience would be much better with a bit more professionalism and courtesy.

This is a awesome gym but not perfect. I love it when its 24/7. They have enough equipment for me to use to get a great workout and getting a shower after working out and be in a best spirit when you walk out the gym. The stuff in the early mornings is very welcoming.

Have been to a lot of planets for a number of years. By far, my least favorite. Bathrooms are unacceptably un clean. Always wet floors and not from mopping. Sinks and toilets are always wet and dirty. Gym floor is so so. Equipment never is cleaned from what I see unless by a user. Too many treadmills and not enough machines and free weights for the volume the place gets with members. Insanely crowded most evenings with people who have no gym etiquette. Staff plays on their phones behind the desk, per usual. But I’m sure nothing will change, so just let this be the expectation for future and current members.

On September 24, 2025 around 12:00 AM, I had a terrible and unsafe experience at this Planet Fitness location. While working out, I became lightheaded and almost passed out. I explained to the staff that it was an emergency and I needed an energy drink for electrolytes right away. My wallet was in my car, so I offered to leave my phone as collateral until I could come back to pay. Despite explaining my situation, the employee refused and told me I had to pay first.

This lack of professionalism and compassion almost sent me to the hospital. In a place that should prioritize member safety, it’s unacceptable to deny basic help in an emergency. Corporate needs to address this immediately.

Typical gym, lots of people doing SM vids, talking “loud” while on phone on treadmill, dont see anyone wiping down equipment; PM staff never nice - maybe smile once in awhile, be happy that you have a job - if you dont like your job, leave. Mens shower area - disgusting. It has a funky, rounchy smell. Please assign a “shower police”; to monitor how nasty people take advantage of the facility, and to also limit shower time. Some people do their laundry in the shower - especially this big dude who wears a red Hawaiian shirt. ***Lastly, to the person answering comments; instead of commenting - email us, do something about it already addressed the issues on reviews***

After closing men’s showers for months, one would think the showers are spectacular but to my surprise they are worse—moldy and flooded shower! There was a line to use the showers on July 1, 2025 in the afternoon because most were either closed or flooded but you have hundreds of staff on payroll standing around behind the front desk!

I was training at La Fitness and have moved to Planet, the only thing I feel I regret having moved before. Planet Fitness has very best, best equipment, more space, along with massage chains and other equipment options. It's been 2 years I've been coming to this location. The water fountain still has low pressure. I don't know what the manager is paid for? The rest of the place is clean and when machines are broken (fixed rapidly), the water fountain is still an enigma, and I don't understand why?

Staff are super friendly and helpful, and the facility is kept tidy and clean, so kudos to the staff.

But the gym itself is disappointing. There's not enough equipment for the number of members. All of the Smith machines, benches, and cable machines were in use. I could barely manage to find a place to do dumbbell curls and it wasn't even peak hours.

The cable machines in particular at this PF are extremely poor and need to be replaced. I'm pretty short and not a single one had cables long enough to do lat prayers. The assisted pullup machine was also horrendous; your legs bang into the attachment (preventing proper form) and my feet were practically dragging on the ground. Again , I am short, so idk how a slightly taller person would manage.

The Gaithersburg facility has way better equipment, so I know this isn't a universal PF issue.

It being constantly overcrowded is something management can’t help but it being dirty is! The mirrors are smudged and dirty, the machines are filthy, there’s trash on the floor, hand grips for the cable machine are missing and all this while 3-4 employees are standing behind the desk chit chatting.

Maybe I’m spoiled coming from the Atlanta market where cleanliness is a high priority but this is unacceptable!

I’ve had zero issues with the staff, cleanliness, equipment or members. Everyone was pretty awesome and upbeat. The equipment and rest of facilities were impeccable. After leaving LA Fitness because it was a petri dish of disgust and unprofessionalism, Planet Fitness was a breath of fresh air.

I initially avoided this gym because of the negative reviews about the staff and cleanliness. I quickly learned that these reviews were all unfounded critiques by nitpicky people. PF always has plenty of available equipment and floor room even at peak hours.

Never returning to this location. I'm considering canceling my membership firsttime not feeling welcomed here out of all locations I been to as a black card member. The gray hair black guy named Clarke is bad news at night. After cardio workout in middle of night went to go shower. He Runs all the showers waters sametime wasting water. Anyways says he cleaning but can't tell me how long with a attitude. I waited by lockers when he came to locker area cleaning I asked all done. He raised his voice telling me all shower are running rinsing or clensing not sure exactly what he meant by that all the showers water were running all this time. I asked for his name no need to raise your voice at me if they don't want people to shower just say down for night I didn't need all the extras. I just put my clothes on to go to work. The other black guy at front desk said I'm NOT ALLOWED BACK HERE. Are u serious I asked him for what? No reply just gave me a card to contact PF. No need I don't plan to ever come back here.

Always overcrowded no matter the time, and they will kick you out for wearing crocs despite not being explicitly stated in the rules.

I don't have an issue with this as long as the rules are updated but they have not. Ironically I had this issue with another planet fitness and the regional manager clarified that this is not against the rules.

Not only did this club refuse to give me the regionals number they gave me an email address that never responded to my request for clarification. But honestly good riddance this Planet Fitness is beyond awful.

On top of the overcrowded issue, you have people that hog machines while sitting on their phones, that or people that have no right to be on a certain machine.

I have been a Planet Fitness Black member for over 5 years and happy to cancel my membership over this awful location.

Also forgot to mention I had been going to this location for weeks while wearing crocs with no issues. It wasn't till this grown man put on nail polish that I got kicked out for "footware". Make whatever connection you want.

Compared to my Planet Fitness home gym, this one isn’t as clean (bathrooms don’t appear maintained, equipment is dusty and has dried sweat), equipment is also outdated, and the building is hot and stuffy. There’s no tv screens and the cardio equipment all have blank screens which isn’t fun staring at your reflection.

When taking a shower there’s always a female employee in the bathroom using the hand drying machine non stop until I’m done using the shower! The actual gym is fine with good employees and clean areas. My biggest gripe is that there is simply no room to lift weights and there is never enough equipment. It doesn't help that the weight lifting area is always packed with people from 12pm to 12am but with only 3 bench presses, 1 set of dumbbells, 1 set of curl bars, and maybe 4 benches... expect to wait and be hovering over the equipment you want because other people want it also on top of the other patrons using the equipment. This gym is way too small for the population its trying to serve... I say this after coming from a different planet fitness in the state that in comparison is 3x-4x bigger. As much as I want to stay with PF, I have to leave. I want to lift weights without jockeying for equipment and people breathing down my neck...

This location is absurdly busy. While this location does have a pretty large parking lot it is still consistently 80% full and the people that go here just do not pay attention in the parking lot. 1st time at PF. Normally I go to LA Fitness. However, beautiful clean gym. The staff actually cleans the equipment. A major plus. But the reason for my 3 stars, not enough fans. Gets hot quickly. Lack of equipment if you're focusing on toning. Lots of treadmills, stairmasters, cardio equipment. Area with the dumbbells is very small.
